the one shifty decision eloy does actually regret is lying to morrigan that he killed flemeth. In General she prefers solving things nonviolently and also it seems like a pretty bad idea to trifle with a like, legendary possibly immortal witch? so in the moment eloy can live with it but upon reflection it doesn't sit well. in the end it doesn't really make a difference, but he has no way of knowing that at the time, and he does consider morrigan a good friend/potential romantic interest. although i do think eloy's guilt (that she can't quite acknowledge as guilt for a while) leads to that eventually closing off and it's weird vibes between them for a hot second. like i don't think a relationship between them would have worked out long-term anyway just kind of A Lot Going On re: morrigan's secrets and desire for independence and eloy's need to know he has the upper hand, and a general lack of space in their dynamic for emotional vulnerability.
Also now i'm reconsidering if it's more or less fucked for eloy to do the ritual or for her to convince loghain to do it
#eloy surana#i think eloy performs the ritual for everyone involved it seems like the least worst option#gee eloy how come you just left the circle and you get in a love triangle with an assassin and an apostate#there's a kind of brittleness in the relationship they quickly establish or like. an inability for it to grow and change.#it snaps into place and any attempt to bend it or change its shape risks breaking it and that's too frightening.#whereas eloy's relationship with zevran is like so nebulous and them trying to figure each other out that suddenly#they're like. wait is this already serious? aw shit
