one of my personal favorite character traits of ford’s is that he still thinks about crampelter. according to journal 3 he regularly has nightmares with cathy crenshaw in them. like he’s a man who’s so deeply affected by the people around him and their judgements of him that even at ambiguously sixty years old he still thinks about the childhood bully be probably hasn’t even seen since high school.

on one hand, ford’s ability to hold a grudge is very impressive and clearly not mutually exclusive to only his grudge against stan in the show, but on the other hand - i kind of like that he still thinks about them? i feel like in a lot of stories, particularly those aimed at kids, the effects of bullying kind of just get… ignored? like, bullying is treated as a problem to be solved and not a form of abuse that can be quite traumatizing, and as someone who was bullied as a kid, its weirdly vindicating to see a character still affected by it even after it was over.

to see a guy who, despite having literal decades, is still not ‘over it’ feels incredibly validating to me, even if i don’t have it/ had it nearly as bad as ford did
