It is the year of our lord 2024 and here I'm eating carrots and desperately digging in the infinity of the abyss that is this hellhole to find some crumbs pertaining a pink haired, three eyes, purple goober with anger issues and going absolutely FERAL about the fact that apparently Starco is canon.

how would you have wanted Starco to be built? Since It was the endgame from the start

alright, we’re starting it off like this, just rip out the love triangles.

i like jackie, tom and kelly as much as the next person, but the show felt like they gave them all this attention for the love plot and then threw them out and i ain’t putting up with it.

i don’t care if daron wants to represent “Messy teens”, if we ever have star and marco date anyone before each other, we’re only having one of these, not trying to go for 3. (And for heck’s sake never have them break up because “Star and marco belong together”, have them break up because the parties need time to mature)

having half the cast push star and marco together feels uncomfortable, not cute.

and heck, if you want to represent them as being “Messy teens”, you could easily write drama about star and marco screwing things up with others, as long as they learn from it and make things up with them later. I don’t mean by always dating them, but i do mean from dealing with too much in their lives or having personal problems that cause them to make mistakes that don’t make them seem awful.

here’s something their ship lacks that was needed, progression, we need to actually WATCH their feelings progress, without the love triangles, you can basically do that for all four seasons.

you could either spend the first 2 seasons as friends, 3 as buildup, and 4 as confession.

1 as becoming best friends, 2 as buildup, 3 for confession, and 4 they actually date so we can make the end conflict more engaging.

or we could rewrite the plot so star and marco have been friends way before the events of s1 so from the getgo we can get the vibe they already have a long connection to build off of instead of making them best friends too instantly so they could immediately push them to lovers.

What to do with jackie, tom and kelly? Make em more important to the plot, you can still have tom progress without the love plot and evolve to be best friends with them.

You can have jackie be a crush marco pursues but doesn’t work out with because of his own personal problems, not because of star, but they still hang out afterwards and maybe that’s when marco starts to fall for star instead.

kelly could be another friend of star and marco’s who they call on when it comes to fighting and adventuring, marco could consider her someone he could talk to about things, or even star could.

Heck, if you give her a crush on marco, how about making it a subplot about kelly dealing with rejection and moving on? 

You can do a lot of interesting beats without so much love triangle drama and wasted relationships.
