i went thru the lost vids list u linked in a previous anon ask and one was a lost vid by emma blackery called “the perfect boyfriend” that she said was about dan. i was watching all of them back then but i have no idea what thats about. did emma like dan? is there something she’s talked about referencing that?

oh christ. yeah uhhh yeah that was a whole thing (also general disclaimer that this was well over a decade ago blah blah don't send her hate now she's talked about regretting it publicly)

basically in 2012-2013ish emma was actively trying to get dan's attention/ tweeting and emailing him asking for a collab while also trying to make her youtube persona essentially "girl dan" (x) she'd answer questions like "do you like llamas" "do you have any youtube crushes" etc etc. she also did some sketches that were beat for beat very dinof (x) and would make videos about the same subjects shortly after dan did. in the now deleted "perfect boyfriend" video she basically just described dan word for word and people caught on adsafdsagkj

anywayyy after all that didn't work she got angry and started hating on them/making fun of them/befriended charlie and talking about private things in public for attention (x) and telling everyone that dan and phil "just didn't like her" (an important note is that she was just. like that. with everyone afdssfskj she was notorious for getting into fights and being petty so it wasn't a specific dnp thing). here's the whole idb thread about her that has some of the screenshots from her tweets and some clips (x)

while all this is happening she and dan have to work together twice in 2013 (interviewing placebo and also geek week) where she apologizes to dan in person...and then cornered him and begged him to follow her on twitter (dan unfollowed her two months later and DMed her to say it wasn't personal, he just didn't like seeing drama on his feed).

in a 2015 article (x) she talked about how dan was one of the first youtubers she ever watched and how she was obsessed with him, then lashed out at him when he ignored her
