#there are definitely a few stinker missions but the games really do hold up

if anyone who follows me and has been subjected to me spamming thief art recently is curious about the games, the original trilogy are all currently on sale on steam for 97 cents each

the series started in 1998 so yeah they're older games with older graphics but they still hold up as some of the best stealth games ever made (dishonored was a spiritual successor to thief and has several references to it). the fandom for it has been insanely loyal so there are fan patches that are available to make it run better on modern systems that are still updated to this day. also hundreds of fan missions were made (and are still being made!)

first person stealth that uses lighting and sound, a snarky protagonist who just wants to pay his damn rent but shit keeps happening to him, cool medieval-but-not setting (the rich people have electricity), very funny writing and voice acting, the freedom to rob rich people's houses and knock them out and then toss them in a fireplace i mean wait what who would do such a thing, and the serotonin generating BLIIIING noise from picking up lootz... what's not to love?
