We have reached a point in technology where we can have realistic looking robot whales under the sea with cameras in their robot bodies to study sea life more efficiently but we still have firefighters go out with a little truck and a hose

#not saying the robots aren't cool and good for marine biology ofc #ofc they are being useful #there are also others qith every other species in the wolrd like penguins and monkeys etc #and they are doing an important job i'm not saying they're not ok don't get me wrong #but isn't it fucked up how we still fight fires the same way???#and firefighters don't have better resources or materials and most of them ARE VOLUNTARY??? THEY'RE NOT EVEN BEING PAID TO DO IT
