Idén 10 éves az Ígéret projekt! A levelek visszaadása 2025 májusában történik. A helyszínről és időpontról az Ígéret projekt tumblr oldalán értesülhetnek majd a résztvevők.

Ígéret /  The Promise project Az elmúlt években egyre többször hangot adunk annak, hogy máshogy szeretnénk élni, de gyakran nem fogalmazzuk meg, ez pontosan mit is jelent és mit tennénk érte. Mi magunk hogyan tudunk változni és környezetünket alakítani, hogyan képzelünk el egy jobb Magyarországot. Nemrég olvastam egy írást, hogy a Svéd posta 1995-ben felajánlotta a Svéd állampolgároknak, hogy írhatnak önmaguknak egy képeslapot, amit most, 20 év után kézbesítettek a feladóknak. A projektem hasonlóan a svéd példához, lehetőséget ad, hogy képeslap vagy levél formájában üzenetet írjunk önmagunknak, ígéretet/ígéreteket, hogy mit teszünk a következő tíz évben egy jobb élet megvalósításáért. Leveleiket magyar állampolgárok vagy hosszabb ideje Magyarországon élő külföldiek adhatják le személyesen nekem egy héten keresztül az OFFice-ban, ahol az átvételről papírt írunk. Az üzenet visszaadása 2025-ben valósul meg. A levél visszaszerzésének helyszínéről és időpontjáról az Ígéret projekt tumblr oldaláról értesülhetnek majd a résztvevők. A levél átvételekor felelősséget vállalok, hogy az üzeneteket nem olvasom el, nem állítom ki, amennyiben a feladó nem járul hozzá. Nem az üzenetek megosztása a cél, hanem az önmagunknak tett ígéret, a célok megfogalmazása és hogy szembesüljünk saját felelősségünkkel, hiszen mindenki csak saját magának tud elszámolni.

During the past several years, we increasingly give voice to the notion that we would like to live differently, but we do not often formulate just what this means exactly, or just what we would do for that. Just how are we ourselves able to change and to transform our environment, and how do we envision a better Hungary? I recently read an article about how in 1995 the Swedish Postal Service had offered the possibility to Swedish citizens to write a postcard to themselves, which now, 20 years later, they delivered to the original senders. Similar to this Swedish model, my project offers the possibility to write a message to ourselves in the form of a postcard or letter, a promise or promises, of what we will do over the next ten years to realise a better life. Hungarian citizens or foreigners living in Hungary can submit their letters to me personally over the course of a week at OFFice, where I will provide a receipt. I will deliver the message in 2025. The participants will be informed as to the time and place of delivery on the tumblr page of The Promise project. Upon receipt of the letter, I will accept the responsibility not to read the messages, and not to exhibit them, insofar as the sender does not agree to it. The aim is not to share the messages, but rather the promise made to ourselves, the formulation of our objectives, and how we are confronted with our own responsibilities, since everyone can only reckon accounts with themselves.
