Today I’ve created a picnic design for the @melanie.johnsson February pattern challenge. This one isn’t even a pattern! 😬 This also took absolutely ages, not sure I’m going to get past day 2 at this speed! 😂 It’s full of my favourite things to eat & I forced myself to work in photoshop, so that’s a good thing, learnt a few things today. I don’t hate it, so that’s also progress!! Meglepi! Mindig is eljátszottam a gondolattal, hogy milyenek lennének a rajzaim mintaként tárgyakon. Úgyhogy lemodelleztem egy mockupon. Szerintem ezek a vicces tölcsérek elég vidámak a nyárhoz, így kerültek fel egy flipflop papucsra.

Surprize! I always wanted to see how my drawings would look like as patterns on objects. So I made this mockup flipflops, as I felt like the funny cones was cheerful enough for summer.

THE PATTERN PAPER

I’m super excited to reveal something (along with some fantastic illustrators) that @melanie.johnsson has been working on for the past few months. Basically, if you love illustration, patterns and colour, you’re in for a treat ! I’m so excited and honored to be a part of this amazing project !

Melanie has been hosting her own little Pattern Challenge here on Instagram. After the last edition (the summer one), she was SO amazed at all the beautiful patterns created that she decided something had to be done to shine a light on such fantastic work and lovely illustrators. That’s how the Pattern Paper was born ! First destined to be a book, it appeared that a newspaper would be awesome because it’s such a versatile object.

Anyway, the Pattern Paper is finally here and ready to enchant and inspire you. It’s filled with over 50 patterns from over 50 illustrators from around the globe (cf. slide n°4 to check their names) who took part in the Summer 2021 edition of the Pattern Challenge.

Pre-orders for THE PATTERN PAPER open this Friday and ALL benefits will be donated to the great charity @arthouseunlimited. I will share the link for the pre-order here on Friday so stay tuned !
