DETENTION
Tumblr media
Pairing: Severus Snape x Professor!Reader
Words: 2.2k
Summary: Y/N was hired to be the new DADA professor, the job Snape always wanted. She had been his student in her time in Hogwarts and now she’s back as his colleague. After a small gathering between the professors, a bit too much fire whiskey, she had told him she had a crush on him in her 7th year.
Warning/Content: smut, roleplay (professor/student), dom!Snape, oral sex (male receiving).
MASTERLIST KINKTOBER MASTERLIST
“I had a crush on you in my 7th year. That’s why I used to get so much detention. I tried to get your attention.”
Snape sat alone in his chamber, his mind in a turmoil of emotions. He kept replaying in his minds the words she said. He couldn't believe she had confessed that under the influence of the alcohol.
The next day, classes seem long as he can’t take his mind off her and her words. Even the students noticed their professor seemed a little off. At dinner, he tried to avoid looking at Y/N or even interacting with her. She obviously noticed the way he was avoiding her the whole day, during meals, and she was already regretting telling him her feelings. Y/N just finished her meal and went to her chamber, wanting a good night of sleep and perhaps forget the stupidest thing she ever done.
After dinner, Snape walked to his own chamber, but somehow, he finds himself standing outside her door. His usual composed demeanor replaced by a mixture of nervousness and anticipation as he knocked on her door.
Y/N wasn’t expecting anyone, so she decided to open the door thinking it could be some kind of emergency. She was surprised to see Snape standing there. He didn’t wait for her invitation, walking past her inside her room.
“What are you doing here?”
Snape stopped inside her room, looking around at the decoration before turning to face her. His eyes trailed over her form, taking in her appearance now dressed in her pajamas. He was silent for a moment, his mind racing with thoughts and questions. “I have a question..." Snape started, his voice low and soft. He paused for a moment, unsure of how to word his question "You said you wanted my attention..."
Y/N sighs, she didn’t want to have this conversation “Yes...”
Snape's heart was pounding in his chest, anticipation and anxiety swirling within him. He stepped closer to her, closing the distance a little "You've...desire me?"
“I did...”
His mind was spinning, his breath hitching as he processed her response. He had never expected this, never expected her to desire him in her student’s years “Do you still do?” She only nods. He took another step closer, now standing directly in front of her "Have you...have you ever imagined...naughty things when you were a student?" Her cheeks flushed a little, before she nods once again.
Snape couldn't stop the wave of desire that washed over him at her admission "Such as...?"
Y/N took another deep breath. Since they were having this conversation, late at night, she might as well be honest. So, she looked at him, before she spoke again “I...I used to imagine that in detention, you would bend me over your desk...lift my skirt and just fuck me...”
The potion master’s heart practically stopped beating as he listened to her words. The image she had painted in his mind was both thrilling and sinful, and it sent a jolt of desire through his body "Is that still something you fantasize about now?”
“Yes...” Y/N’s voice was low when she answers him.
Snape's eyes darken with desire hearing her answer “That could be arranged..." he murmurs, his voice low and sultry.
The air was thick around them, a new mood settling. He looked at her one last time, before he grabbed her arm tightly, but not enough to hurt, and started pulling her along quickly to his classroom. Once inside, he shut and locked the door and put a silence charming on the room to prevent any interruptions.
He turned to face her, using his wand to transfigure her pajamas into her old school uniform. Y/N looked surprised, looking down at her clothes “What...”
Snape smirked at her surprise, his eyes trailing over her body in the tight, skimpy uniform. He took a step closer, towering over her "This is the fantasy, isn't it? Detention..." he smirked, his voice like velvet.
She nods with a small chuckle “Yes...so what now, professor?”
As he hears her tone, his eyes darkened further, a mixture of excitement and desire in his gaze “Now... you get your punishment, Miss Y/L/N." he purred, his voice low and seductive “Kneel.”
Y/N could feel her panties wetting already. She followed his orders and kneel before him.
Snape watches as she obediently kneels in front of him, and a spark of lust ignites inside him. He took a step towards her, grabbing her chin and lifting her head "You always talked back a lot. You need to learn to keep your mouth shut.” He says as his thumb brushed over her lower lip “Open it.” Again, she followed his instructions, making Snape let out a low growl of satisfaction.
His hands were quickly to open his pants and free himself from it. He was already hard. “I wonder if this works to shut you up…” The professor says, before he puts his hard cock inside her mouth.
Y/N closed her lips around him with a soft moan. He felt the vibration, as he groans too. His hands quickly went to her hair, grabbing it as he starts to guide her on his member. She never broke the eye contact with him, as he kept pushing deeper on her mouth and letting out soft moans as the feeling of her warm mouth around him.
Snape never looked away from her. The sight of Y/N on her knees, taking his cock in her mouth and in her old Y/H uniform... He let out a shaky breath, his composure faltering as he kept guiding her “You…look so pretty like that…with your mouth shut.”
She moans again against him and it was enough for him to tight his hold on her hair. He was almost lost in the moment, almost undone. But he remebered her fantasy and he had every intention of indulging them.
He pulled her by her hair off him and back on her feet. Snape’s gaze travels over her body. The uniform, her knees a little red from kneeling on the hard floor...He took a step forward, and began backing her up against the desk. He spins her around so her back was against his chest, leaning down so his lips was against her ear as he whispered "Bend over the desk."
Y/N looked at the desk, her heart racing with the thought of wat was about to happen. Seeing she was not moving, Snape placed a hand on her back and applied a bit of pressure, enough to push her slightly. His voice was low and gravelly as he spoke "I said…bend. Over.”
She let him push her to the desk, bending her over on the wood surface and Snape's eyes darkened as he watched it. He stood behind her, admiring the view for a moment, before his hand moved up her thigh, gripping the hem of the skirt and slowly pulling it up over her hips, exposing her panties.
He stepped closer, pressing his hard cock against her clothed pussy, his body taut with arousal. He leaned down, whispering in her ear "I wonder how many times you imagined this...in your seventh year..."
A low chuckle came out of her mouth “How many times did I had detention...?”
Snape’s lips curled into a wicked smile “Every week, for a different reason. Talking in class, not completing your assignments, messing up your potions, talking back... I wonder how many were fake reasons…” He let his hand wander, tracing his fingers up the inside of her thigh, moving ever higher “All those times... I had to put you in detention… I wonder if you ever hoped I’d punish you like this.” He whispered, his fingers finally reaching the edge of your panties.
“Yes...” She sounded just as desperate as she was for him to touch her.
Hearing the desire in her voice made snape let out a low chuckle, his hand continuing it’s journey, caressing her through the fabric of her panties "And did you ever think about me, after you left my classroom...?”
A soft moan came from her lips, feeling his fingers just teasing her through the fabric “Mhmm...”
Snape smiles as he hears her moan “Mmm, did you touch yourself as you thought about me?"
“Yes...”
His breath shuddering as she confirms his question. He pressed his body tighter against her, his hard cock rubbing against her through the very thin fabric of her panties while his fingers kept teasing.
“Professor...” Her voice sounded more like a moan.
A wave of desire went to his body hearing how she said his title “…Say it again.”
“Professor...”
Snape’s breath shudders as he hears it again. The sound of it coming from her lips is enough to drive him mad. He moves his fingers, finding the edge of her panties again, letting his fingers slide slowly down her thigh, taking the panties with him, until they are around her ankles. Y/N quickly stepped out of it.
The professor took a step back, taking a moment to admire her half-naked body, her pussy exposed to him like that. He kicked her feet away, parting her legs even more and Y/N let out a surprised gasp. He moved back to press himself against her, slowly rubbing the tip of his cock against her wetness.
Y/N moans at the feeling “Please...”
Snape smirks at her moan, teasing her a little more “Ready for your punishment?”
“Yes, professor...”
The way the title sounded coming from her lips was intoxicating for him. He used his hand to rub his cock again on her, before he positioned himself on her entrance and slowly slide inside of her with a low groan “You’re so tight...”
He gave her a moment to get used at him, caressing the skin of her hips, before he started moving in and out of her, making small groans. Y/N started moan as he moved, the feeling better than she imagined.
Snape leaned even closer, his chest against her back, so he could whisper in her ear while he moved slowly, taking his time “This…this is what you wanted…wasn’t it? Getting fucked by your professor...?”
“Yes...”
“Yes what?” He whispered again.
“Yes, sir.” He started moving a little faster at her answer, his breath quickening, his hands moving to her hair to keep her in that position as he fucked her.
The sounds she made and the way her body felt against his own, combined with the taboo nature of this whole scene, made his head spin and his lust grow. He started moving faster, harder, letting his desire take over.
Her moans started get more frequent as he was thrusting harder and faster on her. The only sounds besides their moans were their skin against each other and the desk moving ever so little as he kept pushing his cock on her.
Snape felt her starting tightening around him and he smirks “Are you close, Miss Y/L/N?”
“Yes, professor...”
The potion master groaned again, his pace going even harder, more desperate “Good… me too…” *He was close, but he wanted, no, he needed her to cum first. His hand went to between her legs, rubbing her clit to make her orgasm first.
And it worked. Y/N’s legs were already shaking, and that made the perfect combination for her orgasm to hit her as her walls tightened around the professor’s cock.
The moment he felt her cum was his breaking point, when he finally came inside of the woman bending over his table. He rode his orgasm, until his body relaxed and he softened, pulling out of her.
Y/N kept laying there, without moving, as she tried to catch her breath after such an intense orgasm. Probably the most intense in her whole life.
Snape helped her get back to her feet and then sat her on his desk. Y/N watches him, as he gets a cauldron and started to brew something.
“What are you doing...?”
He started working on a potion while he spoke, his voice nonchalant and a slight smirk playing across his lips “It’s a Contraceptive Potion…we don’t want any accidents now, do we?”
“Oh...right.” She felt her cheeks getting hot. She completely forgot about that.
Snape quickly finished as she was sitting on the desk, watching him work. He handed it to her “Drink, should have no bad effects.” She drank it, and for once, it didn’t taste too bad.
“You look tired.” Snape says, watching as she stepped back on the ground.
Y/N smiled a little and nods “You tired me.”
He looked, noticing she was still in the uniform. He used his wand to transfigure her clothes back to her pajamas “I'll walk you back.”
The walk back to her chamber was silent, none of them daring to say anything. When they stopped in front of her door, Snape stopped her, turning to face her “You said you still desire me. You should know that I desire you too. More than just for a night.” Y/N smiled a little. “Good night, Y/L/N.”
“Good night, Snape...”

Not your Burden Prologue
Tumblr media
"Are you sure you don’t want to move in with me?”
A smile spread on your lips, though it quickly shifted into a frown as you gently set down the heavy cardboard box, holding the rest of your belongings. It had been two months since your father’s monthly payments stopped. Two months since, no matter what you tried, you couldn’t reach your dad or anyone close to him. Two months since you’ve been trying to find a job, but no luck so far. In the end, you decided to move out of the apartment your dad had insisted on you renting, and moved into a smaller and cheaper one.
“Nah, I’ll be fine, I promise.” Your best friend frowned, concern painted across her face. For someone who was usually so carefree, she now looked like she was about to suffer a breakdown.
“I know you don’t like my roommates, but they aren’t so bad once you get to know them. And I’m really worried about leaving you here. This part of town just isn’t safe.” You chuckled and nodded. She was right after all.
The only place you could afford with the rest of your savings was in the part of town everyone was warned to stay away from. The part with the highest crime rate in the entire city. The part where just a few weeks ago, a dead college student had been found. But what were you to do? As much as you loved your friend, her male roommate was creepy and you didn’t like the way he looked at you. No way you’d survive moving in with them. So, the cheap apartment in the creepy part of town it was.
“I’ll be fine, I promise. I have pepper spray and my dad had me learn self-defense. If anyone tries something funny, you’ll have to worry about him, not me!” A grin spread across your lips as you gave her a thumbs up, trying to look as confident as possible. In response, she just rolled her eyes.
“Fine, but…you better facetime me whenever you’re walking home. And have your location on at all times, you hear me?” You nodded and pulled out your phone, quickly turning the location share on, so she would stop worrying. As much as you loved her, it was starting to get repetitive.
Your friend continued to help you, before you ushered her out, telling her to get home safely and before it got dark out. Then you continued to move in, unpacking and slowly getting comfortable. Well…as comfortable as you could get when there were what felt like constant sirens and other noises you weren’t too happy to hear. Banging and moans from your next-door neighbors, screams and crashing from upstairs, and weird gurgling from the hallway. Good thing you had some noise-cancelling headphones, sounded like you would need them.
You had to admit, the first few nights, you didn’t sleep much. The noises and the general paranoia were enough to keep you up, but after a week or so, you got used to it. You put a knife on your nightstand, put a chair against the door, and glasses against the windows. To be honest, you developed your own little routine, which you quite enjoyed. And if you added the job hunt - which had still not been successful - and the work for college, you rarely had the energy to truly care about your situation at the end of the day.
Another week or so went by and you found yourself in the cafe on the campus, sending out more job applications, but it seemed like no one wanted to hire a college student who could only work odd hours. Frustration wafted through you, so you decided to grab another drink and quickly got in line, not paying attention to your surroundings. You promptly gave your order and went to pay, but before you could, the person behind you spoke up, “I got it.”, and before you could interject, they placed tapped their card, and your order was paid for.
When you turned around to thank the kind stranger, you quickly realized it wasn’t a stranger. “Mister Riley?”

Owned | Mob!Lando - part 2
Read part 1 here
Summary: Lando finally gets what he wants. Sure he had to use crooked ways to get it, but all’s fair when one is in love, isn’t it?
Themes: dark!mob!lando, breeding kink, smut, fluff, explicit language
Tumblr media
“Did you do it?”
You asked as you were both in bed in your apartment, your head resting on his chest while his hand gently caressed your back. Your fingers mindlessly toyed with the chain around his neck.
Lando had been here with you every single night ever since you’d learned about your ex boyfriend’s tragic accident which happened on the same night you decided to break things off with him.
That night, you two had an argument and it was messy. After that he stepped out for a walk, then unfortunately got hit badly. The days following the accident were rough. You called Lando the morning after, crying as you told him what happened. He told you not to worry and that he was coming to take care of everything.
The moment he got there at your doorstep, everything passed by in a blur. You barely even remember the funeral, the headstone at the cemetery, mourning with your ex’s family. All you remember is Lando was right there.
And now that all of that was over, now that you had taken time to work through your emotions and feelings, and now that you had a taste of normality again, you couldn’t help but ask that question.
Lando sighed, “What makes you say that, baby?”
He had taken every precaution. His guys had even made sure there were no cameras around where the ‘accident’ happened.
“Just wondering,” You murmured. You went to get up, to pull away from him and get out of bed but Lando stopped you by rolling on top of you before you did. The heat of his body, the feeling of his warm skin against yours, suddenly you didn’t want to get out of this bed. Ever.
“You think I would lie to you about something like this? You think I would put you through all this on purpose?” His pretty eyes looked down at you. His soft lips, his messy hair, that chain hanging from his neck slightly brushing against your chest as he hovered above you. “Hmm?”
Of course, Lando knew he could never tell you the truth. It was better this way. He hated lying to you, but this was for your own good. He saw the way guilt immediately filled your eyes at the sound of his question.
“I’m sorry.” You whispered, reaching out to touch his face. “I think I need some more time to process everything.”
As much as he hated the thought of you being engrossed in the thoughts of another man, he nodded, agreeing.
He leaned in to kiss the corner of your mouth softly, “The kids miss you.”
You gave him a slight smile then. “I miss them too.” He had told you that he had hired a temporary nanny for them, until you were ready to come back to work. He also said how they didn’t really like the new nanny and asked about your whereabouts each morning and night. “I’ll be back soon.” You promised.
He moved his mouth on top of yours and kissed you passionately, biting your lip before shoving his tongue past your lips and kissing you like he’s famished.
He’d been doing that a lot lately. Whenever he found you too deep in your thoughts, he’d find a way to distract you and make you forget for a while. Most of the time, you both ended up in bed.
Like right now.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer as you kissed him back. You moaned and whimpered, your bare body squirming under his. Lando's mouth left your lips as he kissed his way down your body, pulling the covers away in the process until he settled in between your legs. His handsome face just inches away from your dripping core.
“I miss having you in my home, you know that?” He whispered before he leaned in and kissed your wet folds, his tongue slowly circling around your throbbing clit and licking down, parting your wet folds with ease. “I miss seeing your face when I get home from work.”
Your body felt hotter and lighter as a pressing need to release formed deep inside you as you felt his tongue stroked your most sensitive parts. He looked up at you and found you with your eyes shut, head thrown back in pleasure.
“Look at me.” He ordered and the authority in his voice made you tremble.
You opened your eyes and supported your upper body up, your elbows digging into the mattress. You watched how his strong arms wrapped around your thighs, keeping you in place and close to him. He maintained eye contact as he licked in between your wet folds again, making you whine as he teased you. His touch was deliberately slow, and pleasurably agonising.
“Come home with me.” He whispered before he teased your entrance with the tip of his tongue. His hands wrapped around your thighs, securing you in his grip as he pushed his face further into you, making you cry out loud until you came undone, thighs shaking as he kissed his way up your body again, hovering over you.
“I will,” You answered. “Soon.”
“How soon?” He leaned in to kiss you on the lips.
“Maybe in a couple of days.”
“You’re torturing me.”
You couldn’t help but giggle, “Am I?”
“Yes,” He insisted. “I miss you.” He repeated. “When you come back to me, I’m never letting you leave my bed.”
You giggled again, running your fingers through his soft hair as he leaned in to kiss you again. His hand slipped in between your legs with ease, caressing your inner thighs again. You couldn’t help but moan into the kiss given how sensitive you were.
You squirmed under him, and Lando smirked through the kiss as he slid his cock easily into you, pulling your legs up to wrap them around his waist. You moaned out loud again as he filled you up entirely.
He grabbed both your hands, laced your fingers together with his and pinned your interlaced hands down above your head, whispering as he fucked you slowly, “Gonna put a baby in you.” He gasped, “Then you’ll be mine forever.” He stared into your eyes, lips parted as he fucked you gently.
His lips found yours again, swallowing your moans while he rolled his hips against yours. He pulled out and pushed himself back into you, and watched in awe how you squirmed under him.
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” He mumbled breathlessly as he pushed deeper into you. “You’d be safe with me, just us and the kids. Huh, baby?”
“Yes…” You whined.
He bit your lips, kissed your open mouth, and shoved his tongue past your lips while he pounded into you. Your legs trembled around his waist, he thrust deeper into you fucking you like there’s no tomorrow.
“I can see it already,” He whispered, “You, walking around with a baby bump, in your little dresses,” He pressed the palm of his hand against your lower abdomen while he kept pounding into you incessantly. “I can’t wait to spoil you rotten, baby. I’ll worship your body even more than I do now, I’ll buy you anything you wanted, fuck I’ll do anything for you.”
“Oh… Lando, please,” You whimpered.
You tightened around him as you felt him quicken his pace, pounding into you. You felt the pressure in between your hips grow until you couldn’t hold back anymore.
His hand toyed with your clit, making you tremble. “Come for me.” He murmured, his voice now deeper. “Take all that cum, it’s all yours, baby. All yours.”
With a few more strokes of his thick cock, you felt his thrust becoming irregular, and felt his cock throb against your walls.
You couldn’t hold back anymore, and came with a loud moan.
Lando came right after you. He didn’t pull out, but remained buried inside you. Both of you catching your breaths and hearts racing in sync. You were a whimpering mess as he collapsed on top of you.
“I fucking love you.” He whispered, breathless.
Lando left in the early hours of the morning. He hated leaving you, but his kids would need him. He left after giving you a soft kiss on the forehead. “I’ll see you soon, okay?” He murmured against your skin.
On his way home, Lando got his phone out and immediately pulled up the camera footage. These past days, you’d been sleepier than usual so he had ample time to bring his guys in and have them install even more discreet cameras all over your home.
He didn’t see it as invading your privacy. But he had to make sure you were alright at all times, right?
So he watched you as you slept. Warm and safe under your blankets. “Everything’s gonna be okay, baby.” He whispered as he watched you shift around until you found a more comfy position. “I’ll take care of you.”
He couldn’t have been happier the day you decided to come back to work. Neither could he keep his hands off of you the moment the kids were napping during the day or sleeping at night.
“You’re moving in with me,” He growled into your ear one night, as he fucked you from behind while you were bent over his desk again. He grabbed you by the hips, pulling your body into him each time he thrust into you. “I don’t want you living in that apartment anymore. You hear me?”
You whined, barely able to hold on to the desk as he pounded into you. “I can’t…” You gasped, “I can’t just move in, I–,”
“Why?” He barked, “Why can’t you?” He leaned over you, his damp, warm chest pressing against your back. “Hmm?”
You turned your head to the side, gasping in pleasure as you tried to form a coherent sentence. “I can’t just… ” You desperately tried to get the right words out. “Maybe later, in a year or two if we’re still–,”
“Years?” He growled, fucking you harder. Your body crashed against the desk with each of his thrust, and you moaned at how his cock reached all the right places. “And if we’re still what?”
You whimpered when he bit down on your shoulder before pounding into you harder than before. “Together." You answered. "What if–,”
Lando pulled out, pulled you up from the desk and twisted you around so you faced him. He did it so quickly you barely processed any of it. One moment you were bent over his desk and the next you were facing him with his hand wrapped around your throat.
Your heart skipped a beat as you looked into his eyes. You secretly loved this side of him. Unpredictable. Wild. Dark.
“What did you just say to me?” He whispered, his voice surprisingly deeper than you’d ever heard. It made you shiver. “You think there’s even a slight possibility that you won’t end up being mine forever?” He leaned in just enough so his mouth brushed against yours. “You think this is a joke, baby? You think I’m just messing around with you?”
You trembled as he sat you down on the edge of the desk and slid his cock inside you again. The room was dark, the only light came from the dim scones on the wall and the moonlight coming in from the wide windows. Lando looked angry.
He tightened his grip around your throat just enough to make you whimper again as he resumed fucking you. “You’re mine.” He hissed. “There is no if,” He kept fucking into you even as you came, moaning and whimpering as you clenched around his cock, “You will be mine forever.”
You were too far gone, high on the orgasm he’d just given you that you didn’t hear the dark promise dripping from his words as he came inside you.
—
A couple of days later, one night as you put the kids to sleep, you received a phone call from a panicked neighbour of yours. What she said over the phone made you rush to Lando, trying to keep yourself from freaking out.
You found him in his bedroom and you couldn’t help the tears then.
“What’s going on, baby?” He wrapped his arms around you and held you until you were able to speak again. "What happened?"
“My neighbour called and… they’re being evacuated because–,” You took a deep breath, “My building is on fire, it’s… it’s pretty bad.” You sobbed, hugging him tightly. “My apartment, it’s all gone.”
“Hey, hey,” He cupped your face in his large hands and said, “Calm down, I’m here. Okay? I’ll handle this, baby. Don’t you worry.”
You buried your face into his chest, sniffling.
He hugged you tighter, kissing your temple and rubbing your back to comfort you. He hated it, being the reason behind why you were crying. But this was necessary, wasn’t it? You refused to move in with him because you liked your apartment. So he got rid of the apartment. The whole building in fact.
“I’m sorry, baby.” He murmured against your skin as he repeatedly kissed your forehead while you cried on his shoulder. I had to do it. He thought. How else would we live under the same roof?
You had no choice but to live with him after that incident. Apparently the authorities couldn’t find what started the fire, and any evidence was probably ash too.
As much as you missed your cosy apartment, living with Lando was like being in a dream.
You’d wake up in his arms, spend time with the kids, have breakfast like a family, then Lando would leave for ‘work’ and you’d kiss him goodbye at the door. You’d spend your entire day with the kids, reading, baking, playing in the yard. Then he’d come home and you’d spend the evening like a family again.
After putting the kids to bed, Lando would always, always drag you straight to bed where you’d fuck until one of you passed out, then resume in the morning and repeat.
Everything was perfect.
And just weeks after moving in with him, you found out you were pregnant. When you broke the news to him, he was almost giddy with excitement.
He refused to leave your side, to the point where he’d try to be home as much as possible and would only ever leave if something desperately needed his attention or intervention.
Many times you’d find him in the kids’ playroom, talking to them about having a newborn baby around. They were all excited.
It had become impossible for him to keep his hands off you, especially once you started showing. “You’re too beautiful to resist.” He’d tell you.
You would often wake up to find him wrapped around you, nuzzling your bump and kissing it. He would find you at random times during the day, and pull you into a room or drag you to his office or your shared bedroom and fuck you until you were both completely spent.
“I can’t get enough of you.” He’d whisper each time.
You noticed he would be extra careful with you. His touch was soft, he would always fuck you nice and slow, always looking at you to confirm he wasn’t hurting you and that you were enjoying it as much as he was.
“You don’t have to be so careful all the time, you know?” You whispered to him one night, your hands running through his hair while he laid his head on your bump, kissing it occasionally. “I’m just pregnant, I’m not made of glass.”
He left a kiss on your bump then lifted his head to look up at you. “Don’t wanna hurt you,” He whispered, “Or the baby.”
You smiled at him, caressing his pretty face. “We’re okay. You worry too much.”
He kissed his way up your body, his hips settling in between your legs again. You giggled as he slid inside you again. It was the third, or fourth, time tonight.
“You never get tired these days, I see.” You whined, back arching off the bed slightly as his mouth latched on to your sensitive nipple while he moved in and out of you in a pace that made you lose your mind. He knew you were extra sensitive these days, and he took full advantage of that.
Lando ended up hiring a helper to aid you in taking care of the kids. But the kind lady ended up doing all the work and you’d often find yourself with nothing but free time to do whatever you wanted.
You went to Lando regarding this, and the moment you showed up in his office he pulled you onto his lap and helped you ride him instead.
“This is a serious…” You gasped as he lifted your hips up before bringing you down his cock again, “...problem.”
“Mhm,” He mumbled, lips wrapped around your nipple again. His hands held you by the hips and he slowly thrust up into you. “Is it?”
“Yes,” You argued, placing your hands on his shoulders. You looked down and smiled at your growing bump, before you glared at him, “You did this on purpose, didn’t you? Told me she was just here to help when in fact you hired her to do my actual work.”
He pulled his mouth away and smirked up at you. “You need rest, baby.” He thrust his hips up slightly harder, deeper each time until you were coming undone all over his cock again. It didn’t take much given how sensitive you were these days. When you both calmed down he said, “Now you have time to do all that you want.”
“I’m gonna get lazy.” You mumbled as you cuddled up to his side, your bump always got in the way but Lando still got as close as he could to you, wrapping his arms securely around you.
“You’re carrying our new baby, youre allowed to be as lazy as you want.” He kissed you on the nose.
“So what, I’m just gonna be here doing nothing all day? Just read, and bake and make babies for you?”
“That’s not a bad idea.” He chuckled.
"Whatever." You groaned, “I’m too tired to be angry at you.”
He laughed. One of his hands reached out to caress your bump. “Let’s get you in bed.” He murmured against your forehead. “Okay, baby?”
You nodded.
By the time he got you cleaned up and in bed, you were already fast asleep. Lando checked on the kids one last time before climbing into bed with you. Pulling you close, he kissed you one more time.
Everything was perfect, just as he intended. There were some secrets he would take to his grave with him, some he would never share with you. Some truths he would never let come out; mainly the accident, and the fire.
But this right here was all that mattered, you and him together.

Mine to Protect
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: joel miller x f!reader warnings: no outbreak, age gap, explicit sex, dominant behavior, possessiveness, jealousy, semi-public tension, power imbalance, gun mention, light choking, rough sex, unprotected sex, mdni word count - 1.0k summary - You hire him for protection. You don't expect the heat in his state, or the way he watches you when you sleep. One night, you tease him on purpose. He breaks.
✩⡱⋆⸝⸝♡⸝⸝⋆⡱✩
You’ve had protection details before. Your work—high-profile, public, and controversial—comes with threats. Trolls. Creeps. Journalists who don’t know how to leave things alone. You've dealt with them all. But you’ve never had him.
Joel Miller. Early 50s. Former military, former private ops, now freelancing as a fixer with more discipline than charm. He was assigned to you after an incident—an anonymous note slipped under your door, photos taken of you through your windows, a lock picked without anything missing.
You didn’t want anyone watching you. He didn’t want to be here. Perfect match.
The first day he shows up, he barely says a word. Black shirt. Gun on his hip. Scowl like it’s carved into stone.
“This isn't a babysitting job,” he says flatly. “I protect. You follow instructions.” “What if I don’t?” “Then I fail my contract.”
He doesn’t say he cares. Doesn’t threaten. Just makes it clear: you’re a job. And yet—he never stops watching you.
Weeks pass. He’s always nearby. In your shadow. In your space. Never in your way.
He doesn’t touch you. Doesn’t flirt. But he looks. You see it in the way his jaw ticks when you wear something short. The way he always positions himself between you and any man who looks too long. The way he says “I’ll be waiting outside” when you go into a meeting—but always comes in if it lasts too long.
Still—he keeps it cold. Clinical. Always professional. Until tonight.
You’re at a private fundraiser. Expensive venue. Fake smiles. Too much champagne.
Joel stays near the exit, eyes scanning the room. He’s already clocked the exits, checked your drink, denied access to two guests on the watch list.
And you? You’re bored.
So you talk to a man at the bar. He’s harmless. Pretty. Says something about your work. Laughs too easily. You catch Joel watching from across the room. He’s still. Arms crossed. Eyes unreadable.
Back at the hotel, he doesn’t speak. You trail behind him down the hall. He opens the door to your suite. Walks in. Doesn’t look at you.
You shut the door. “You gonna give me the silent treatment all night?”
Nothing.
“You're not my boyfriend, Joel. I can talk to people.”
He turns. Something in the air shifts.
“You think this is about jealousy?”
You open your mouth, but he’s already walking toward you.
“This is about risk. That man had no background pass. No clearance. You turned your back to him. You gave him your real name.”
You flinch.
“Fuck you,” you mutter. “You’ve been watching me like a hawk for weeks and now you decide to say something?”
He stops in front of you. Inches away.
“You’re not my fucking father, Joel—”
He grabs your wrist. Yanks you forward.
“Shut your mouth.”
His voice is low. Gritty. Pulled from the back of his throat.
“Let go of me.”
He steps forward. Doesn’t.
“I’ve kept my hands off you since day one. I’ve followed the contract. I’ve watched you mouth off, dress like that, look at me like you want something—” “I didn’t—” “Liar.”
He backs you into the wall. Slams one hand beside your head. The other slides under your jaw—grips, not gently.
“You want to talk about lines?” he growls. “You fucking erased them.”
Your breath catches.
And then his mouth is on you. Not a kiss—a claim. Brutal, deep, tongue and teeth and pressure like he’s trying to fuck you with just his mouth.
You moan.
He spins you before you can catch your breath. Your chest hits the wall. His body cages you from behind.
“I’ve thought about this every fuckin’ day,” he mutters, dragging your dress up. “But I waited. I followed the rules.”
He pulls your panties down. Spreads you open with his knee.
“But you don’t want rules, do you?”
You moan—soft, involuntary. His hand slides between your legs. Two fingers sink in fast.
“Soaked,” he growls. “Knew you wanted it. Knew it every time you talked back.”
“Joel—” “You want it?” “Yes.”
He groans like you broke something in him—and then he fucks you.
Hard. No warning. No apologies.
Just the sound of skin on skin. Your hands braced against the wall. His palm over your mouth so the whole floor doesn’t hear you fall apart.
“You don’t talk,” he grits out. “Not unless I say so.”
You’re whimpering under him. Wrecked. Your body shaking as he ruts into you.
He grabs your throat—not choking, but firm—pulling you back against him harder, deeper.
“You let anyone else touch you like this?” You shake your head, gasping. “Say it.” “No one,” you breathe. “Just you.” “Damn right.”
He finishes inside you. Growling. Cursing. Holding you still like he owns you. But when it’s over? He pulls out. Fixes his pants. Grabs his gun from the dresser. Doesn’t look at you.
“Test me again,” he says, voice flat, “and I’ll put you on your knees instead of the wall.”
Then he walks out.
Door slams.
You’re left trembling, skin burning, mouth parted—ruined.
And still wanting more.

HIII !! :0 we've spoken before but I've only realized now I haven't been requesting things anonymously (omg I'm stupid I know lmao) :3 uhmmm here's another idea but it's more of a prompt lol, you can do whatever you want with it :)
Jason or reader : “You stayed.”
Jason or reader : “I’m still deciding if that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.”
LIKE WE WERE KIDS AGAIN
Tumblr media
pairing jason todd x gender neutral reader
"you stayed," you murmur, voice cracking like the childhood promises you both broke. jason doesn’t answer—just holds you tighter, as if his arms could undo years of hurt. (they can’t. but tonight, with your laughter muffled against his chest and his fingers tangled in yours, maybe "broken" doesn’t have to mean "unfixable.")

the first time jason sees you again, he’s supposed to kill you.
the warehouse is burning around you both, smoke curling thick in the air, the scent of gasoline and gunpowder clinging to the back of his throat. he’s here on orders—some lowlife crime lord’s hired muscle needs to be put down, and the red hood doesn’t ask questions. not anymore.
but then he sees you.
you’re standing in the middle of the wreckage, blood smeared across your split knuckles, a gun dangling loosely from your fingers like you’ve forgotten how to hold it. your eyes are hollow, glazed over—like you’re not really here. like you’ve been carved out and left empty.
he doesn’t recognize you at first. not with the way your shoulders hunch inward, like you’re trying to disappear. not with the way your hands tremble around the grip of the gun, finger twitching near the trigger like you’re fighting the urge to use it. but then you turn, just slightly, and the flickering firelight catches the curve of your cheekbone—the same one he used to poke when you were kids, laughing when you’d swat his hand away and call him an idiot.
"no fucking way," he breathes, the words punched out of him.
you don’t react. your gaze slides right past him, vacant, like he’s just another shadow in the room. like he’s not the boy who used to sneak you candy under the dinner table when your parents weren’t looking, who promised to protect you from monsters under the bed.
(he failed, didn’t he? because here you are—another ghost in a world that chews up kids like you and spits them out. and now you’re standing on the wrong side of his gun, working for the same bastards he’s been hired to wipe out.)
your lips part, just slightly, and he thinks you might say something. but then your jaw clenches, and something dark flickers in your eyes—betrayal. because of course you’ve heard the stories. the red hood doesn’t hesitate. the red hood puts bullets in skulls without a second thought.
and here he is, staring you down like you’re just another target.
(you don’t know that his finger’s frozen on the trigger. that his chest is so tight he can’t breathe. that all he can think is—what the hell happened to you?)
(´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
the second time, he corners you on a rooftop.
the wind howls between you, sharp enough to cut, and jason’s boots scrape against gravel as he steps forward. you’re backed against the ledge, panting, one hand pressed to your side where blood seeps through your fingers—a bullet graze, too close for comfort. the red helmet hides the way his throat bobs, the way his teeth grind together at the sight.
you’re hurt.
the realization hits him like a punch to the gut. he’d chased you across half the city, fury burning through his veins because how could you—but now that he’s here, all he sees is the way your knees wobble, the way your breaths come too fast, too shallow. like you’re one wrong move from collapsing.
"what the hell are you doing?" he growls, voice distorted through the modulator, harsher than he means it to be.
you blink at him, slow, like you’re struggling to focus. the moonlight catches the sweat on your brow, the blood smeared across your cheek. when you speak, your voice is rough, exhausted. "surviving."
like it’s obvious. like it’s the only thing left in the world that makes sense.
and jason—
jason wants to scream.
because this isn’t you. the you he knew would’ve flinched at the sight of blood, would’ve squeezed his hand too tight when you crossed the street, would’ve cried when you scraped your knee on the playground and let him carry you home. the you he knew had laughed so loud it echoed, had tucked wildflowers into his pockets when he wasn’t looking, had been alive.
but the person in front of him now?
they don’t even blink as they wipe their bloody hands on their jacket, smearing red across the fabric like it’s nothing. like pain is just another part of the routine.
(he remembers, suddenly, stupidly—the way you’d cling to his sleeve when you were scared. the way you’d whisper don’t let go even when there was nothing to be afraid of.)
"you’re working for them," he accuses, stepping closer. his voice cracks, just slightly. "the same bastards who—"
"i don’t have a choice," you interrupt, voice brittle, breaking.
your hands shake. not from the cold. not from the wound.
from fear.
(he hates how small you sound. hates it even more because he knows, now, that you’ve been afraid for a long, long time.)
for a heartbeat, neither of you move. the city sprawls beneath you, all flickering lights and distant sirens, but jason doesn’t hear any of it. all he hears is the ragged sound of your breathing. all he sees is the way your shoulders curl in, like you’re waiting for a blow.
you think i’m going to hurt you.
the thought makes something in his chest splinter.
(he should. he should. that’s what the red hood does. that’s what he came here for.)
but then you sway, just slightly, and without thinking, his hand shoots out—fingers wrapping around your wrist to steady you.
your skin is cold.
(he doesn’t let go.)
(´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
the third time, he finds you in a shitty motel room, and the sight cracks something open in his ribs.
the air smells like stale cigarettes and cheap disinfectant, the kind that burns your nose if you breathe too deep. you're curled into yourself on the bed, knees drawn to your chest, arms wrapped tight around them like you're trying to hold yourself together. the dim yellow light from the flickering lamp paints everything in sickly shadows—the hollows under your eyes, the dried blood on your sleeve, the way your fingers dig into your own arms hard enough to leave bruises.
on the nightstand, a half-empty bottle of whiskey sits next to a gun.
(jason's stomach turns. he knows what that means. knows what you were thinking when you put it there.)
you don't fight when he sits beside you. don't even look up. just keep staring at the cracked wall across from you, blank, like you're already gone. like you were waiting for death, and he's just the grim reaper finally showing up to collect.
(he wants to shake you. wants to pull you into his arms. doesn't know which would hurt more.)
"why?" he asks, softer this time. voice rough like he's the one who's been crying, even though your eyes are dry.
your lips twitch—something that might’ve been a laugh in another life. it cracks apart before it even leaves your throat, splintering into something raw and wounded, more like a sob caught between your teeth. your fingers curl into the thin motel sheets, knuckles white, as if clinging to them could keep you from falling apart completely.
"they promised they'd kill me if i didn't." your voice is barely there, scraped thin from screaming or silence—he can't tell which. then, softer, breaking: "i couldn't let them do that... not without seeing you for the last time."
the admission hangs in the air between you, fragile as the dust motes drifting in the dim light. jason feels it like a knife to the ribs—because you thought you were going to die, and your last thought was him.
jason's breath catches like his lungs forgot how to work.
suddenly, he's fifteen again—kneeling on hot pavement behind your apartment building, watching through messy bangs as you carefully press batman bandaids over his scraped knees. "hold still, dummy," you'd huffed, but your hands were gentle even when they shook. the cherry popsicle you'd split with him earlier dripped sticky-sweet on your chin, and when he laughed and wiped it away with his thumb, your cheeks went pink as the sunset. in that moment, twelve-year-old jason thought, with startling clarity: i'd follow you anywhere. die for you if i had to.
the memory burns worse than the whiskey in his gut. because now he knowsyou never wanted this. never chose the blood staining your hands or the hollows under your eyes. you'd been stolen, just like he was. broken, just like he was.
(he should've known. should've seen the signs sooner—the way your hands trembled even when empty, the way your eyes kept darting to exits like you expected hands to grab you any second. god, how many times had you looked at him, silently screaming for help he didn't recognize?)
the mattress creaks as he shifts closer. his hand hovers over your shoulder, trembling with the weight of every unsaid thing between you. when his palm finally settles against the thin fabric of your shirt, he can feel your heartbeat rabbiting beneath—alive, alive, alive against all odds.
"i'm sorry," he whispers, and it's not enough. will never be enough for all the ways he failed you.
(he doesn't specify what for. the list is too long: for not protecting you. for thinking you'd gone bad. for that last summer before everything burned—when he'd peeked through your bedroom window and saw you muttering to your reflection, practicing how to say "i like you" with reddening ears. he'd nearly fallen off the fire escape grinning, thinking just say it already, i'll say it back, never knowing your confession would be stolen along with everything else the next day.)
you finally look up at him, eyes wide and lost, and jason thinks—
oh.
there you are.
somewhere beneath the blood and bruises and broken pieces, beneath the flinches and the fear and the face you've had to wear to survive—you're still you. the same kid who patched his wounds and shared your popsicles and looked at him like he hung the moon.
and despite the pit's rage, despite the bullets and the bodies and the years of pretending he's someone else—he's still him too. still the boy who promised to keep you safe.
(he won't fail you again.)
(´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
"you stayed," you murmur into the quiet, finally meeting his gaze through the dim light. the words taste fragile on your tongue, like they might break if you speak too loud.
he exhales, rough around the edges. "i'm still deciding if that's the dumbest thing i've ever done," he says, but there's no bite to it—just that familiar teasing lilt that makes your chest ache.
(you remember him saying the same thing at twelve when he climbed your fire escape with a black eye, grinning through split lips because he'd "won" the fight. you'd called him an idiot then too.)
but he doesn't leave. doesn't even shift away when you curl tighter into yourself, knees digging into your ribs like you're trying to disappear.
"hey." his finger pokes your cheek—just like when you were kids. "stop that. you're thinking too loud."
you blink up at him. "i'm not a—"
"a gremlin? yeah, you are." his grin is all teeth, the same one he'd flash when stealing your lunchbox snacks. "always were. remember when you tried to eat mrs. mackey's science project because you thought it was jello?"
a startled laugh punches out of you. "it looked like jello!"
"it was a dissection specimen, you menace."
"you ate some too!"
"only after you dared me, you little—"
the rest gets swallowed by your shriek as he suddenly tackles you, fingers digging into your ribs exactly where you're most ticklish. the sound that comes out of you is half-laugh, half-sob, startled and bright after so long without.
(just like that summer when you'd both gotten caught in the rain, how he'd carried you piggyback through the downpour while you shrieked about his cold hands sneaking under your jacket to tickle you.)
you retaliate by shoving your icy feet against his calves, grinning at his yelp. "cheater!" he gasps, but he's laughing too, really laughing, the sound warm and rough and so painfully familiar it makes your eyes burn.
somewhere between breathless wrestling and poorly-aimed pillow attacks, you end up with your face smushed against his chest, his arms locked around you like he's afraid you'll vanish if he lets go. the quiet settles over you both, comfortable in a way nothing has been in years.
"missed this," you mumble into his shirt. the admission feels dangerous.
his heartbeat stutters under your ear. "...yeah."
(he remembers your thirteenth birthday, how you'd fallen asleep just like this during your movie marathon, how he'd stayed perfectly still for hours just so he wouldn't wake you. how he'd thought, with terrifying certainty: this. i want this forever.)
your fingers curl into his sleeve on their own accord, clinging like you're eight again and afraid of thunderstorms. jason's breath hitches—then his hand comes up to card through your hair, gentle in a way the red hood never is.
"stay?" you whisper, already half-asleep.
his arms tighten. "'til you're sick of me."
(he means forever. you both know it.)

December | Tokyo, Japan | Tuesday (after work)
“Haibara, he likes me!” You screech into your phone. Your pillow was at the mercy of your ecstatic chokehold. “The Nanami likes me!”
You had spent a good portion of your night talking with Haibara. He truly was the only one who you could share your excitement with, considering his friendship with Nanami. He was the only one who understood the stiff blonde and appreciated how you managed to sway his feelings. But, on that same note, he knew you pretty well and was the best at teasing you.
“You’re quite excited for someone who won’t give him a chance yet,” Haibara teases you. You frown at his words, hoping he’d react like you did. “Why don’t you just let him win you over already?”
“Because!” You reply sharply, jabbing your finger in the air. “He has to earn it, especially after what he’s put me through.”
Haibara lets out a sigh, “and if he decides to change his mind?”
You huff at his distasteful question, “he won’t.”
Haibara lets out a small snort, “didn’t realize you knew Nanami for as long as I have. My bad.”
Sucking your teeth, you sprawl your limbs out on your bed, your eyes distantly staring up at the ceiling, “you know I don’t know a whole lot about him… but he’s different towards me now. There’s something there that wasn’t there before.”
“Can’t argue with that one,” Haibara admits reluctantly. “I’ve never seen Kento act like this. He’s always been to himself.”
You smile triumphantly at his words, “it feels like I like him more because of that.”
“Don’t start,” Haibara taps at your confidence a bit. “Anyhow, let me leave you. I’m gonna order take out and watch a drama.”
You pout but nod to yourself, “thanks for the chat, Yu. Have a good night!”
“You as well, Y/N.” Click.
You toss your phone to the side, a wide smile lingering at your lips. Nanami has intentions to conquer you. And it wasn’t like you were going to deny him, despite prolonging his torture. He could write his confession and pass it to you like in grade school, and you’d still check the ‘yes’ box. Your stomach felt queasy at the thought of his re-attempt, considering his first confession still remained in your mind.
Albeit how that bad night went.
Inspired by Haibara (and the growling of your stomach), you get up to order yourself a bit of food as well. As you waited for the order, you fix up your hair so the delivery person didn’t think you were a hobbit. While you adjusted your face, your phone began to ring in your bedroom. You rush to fetch it, your stomach tossing with excitement for the food. But when you blindly picked up, Nanami’s raspy voice came into sound.
“Good evening, Y/N,” Nanami hums quietly, “how are you doing?”
You felt yourself stiffen, “a-ah, good evening, Nanami! I’m well– and yourself?”
“I’m doing well, thank you,” Nanami replies, his voice as smooth as butter. “What are you up to tonight?”
You awkwardly pull at your holiday PJs and smile embarrassingly to yourself, “‘m home. Just finished ordering some dinner. Is um, is there anything you need, Nanami?”
“Ah–” Nanami’s voice halts, the breath that follows filled with hesitance. “I didn’t want to alarm you, but I am at the lobby of your building.”
You jumped, goosebumps raising all along your arms. “U-um, can I ask why?”
“I, um…” Nanami’s voice streams off for a moment, heavy breathing ensuing. You assume it was because of the cold, and potentially the exhaustive walk over to your house. “It is a little embarrassing to admit, but my night is not going well.”
“Oh?” You were surprised. You’ve never seen too much of Nanami’s emotions until recently, upon his acknowledgment and confession of his newfound feelings for you. It was strange to hear the twinge of sadness in his voice, and his reticence to admit his woeful feelings. “Is everything okay?”
“Everything is okay,” Nanami confirms, “but the thought to come see you felt right.”
A streak of red appears on your cheeks, “a-ah! Is that so…”
“Of course, feel free not to invite me in,” Nanami hums quickly, “I can understand the inappropriateness and suddenness of me appearing at your building. I apologize for springing this onto you.”
It’s true. You two were not dating, and weren’t near being official by any stretch. Nanami, just previously, was your boss, the person you looked up to. He signed your pay stubs and was the person who validated your work and relied on you to do his job well. He is not at the point to come to you and cry on your shoulder. It was simply the status quo not to do wifey things for someone who hasn’t even given you the title of girlfriend yet.
But, this was Kento Nanami we were talking about.
“Come upstairs,” you hum. You hang up, and look back to make sure your apartment was clean. Seeing that it was spotless, you quickly check yourself in the mirror, making sure your hair looks nice. Although you lamented not putting on at least some makeup, you were at that point in life where either he likes you as you are, or doesn’t and spares you that horror. You pull down your black sweatshirt, immediately realizing that it was not yours, but the one you borrowed from Tae.
You let out a sigh. You washed his sweatshirt with the rest of your laundry, and then just assumed it was yours as it was in the pile. You rush to the kitchen to make a note to return the sweatshirt. As you finished the sentence, a quiet knock was heard at your door. Your feet quietly tip tap over, gently unlocking everything. As you opened the door, you were met with a bag of food in your face.
“Hold this,” Nanami sounded, his large hand dangling the delicious smelling food before you. Your eyes lingered on Nanami, before looking over at the delivery man right behind him.
You quickly put the food on the coat rack, and bow at the delivery man, “let me grab the money, please give me a moment.” As you prepare your stride, a cold hand grabs your forearm. You turn around to look up at Nanami, who gives you a small smile.
“Don’t worry about it,” Nanami hums. He turns to the delivery man, takes out his wallet, and pulls out a large bill. “Thank you very much. Keep the change as your tip.” The delivery man beamed at his large tip, bowing contently at Nanami before rushing down the stairs.
You could only stare at Nanami, as he let go of your arm to let himself in. He locks the door behind him, and begins to strip off his winter garments. He was… wearing glasses. You ogled at him, your heart strings being pulled at. His jaw was clenched, his breathing getting used to the sudden warmth of your home. His hair was once again messy, his body ornate in comfy clothing, very contrasting to his usual office get up.
Nanami notices your eyes, and smirks, “never seen a blind man, Y/N?”
“A-ah, I’m sorry for staring,” you quickly apologize, “I don’t see you in glasses often.” A strand of his hair lands on his forehead.
“Ah, well,” Nanami’s entire body faces you entirely, and he pushes up his lens with his middle finger, “wearing contacts at night increases the risk of forgetting that they’re still on. I usually remove them the moment I get home.”
Here’s the Nanami you know best, “that’s a good point.”
You two stand in a bit of awkward silence before you look up at Nanami and gesture to the living room, “would you like a cup of tea?”
“That would be wonderful, thank you.”
He takes his seat on the couch while you bring your food over to the kitchen island. You quickly ignore it to put a water-filled kettle onto the stove. “Honey, sugar?”
“Hold on both, thank you,” Nanami hums.
You nod, quickly paying attention to your food. You look over at him awkwardly, “are you hungry? I had no idea that you would be coming, I would have ordered more food…”
Nanami quickly raises his hand, “please, my visit was completely unprecedented. You couldn’t have prepared for it.”
You quietly stare at him. You could see the distance in his eyes, his hands resting on his knees. One of his legs bounced with some sort of anxiety, his thumbs twiddling around one another. You noticed that he barely kept his gaze towards you, looking back down after each brief silence. It felt like there was a bubble around him that he wasn’t quite ready for you to pop yet.
With a small smile, you bring out two plates and carry it with the bag of takeout. You join him on the couch, and quickly begin to unbag your food. Nanami only watched as you began to divide your food in half. He quickly sits up and holds your forearm gently, stopping you from continuing. “There is no need, please enjoy your meal, Y/N.”
“Food always makes me feel better when I don’t really feel the best,” you hum quietly. You gently remove his hand from your arm and give him a curt smile. “We don’t have to talk about it.”
He looks at you, grimacing a bit. You squeeze his hand reassuringly before putting it down to continue separating the food, “I hope you like stir fry with rice, ‘cause that’s what I got.”
Nanami could only stare at you with awe. There was something there that he couldn’t quite explain. A feeling. A semblance of safety, and some sort of nostalgia. As you divided the food in your comfy clothes, he couldn’t help but feel like it should have always been this way. He watched as you cut up a few of the vegetables and meat, and added extra gravy to his plate.
“Y/N,” he starts with another futile attempt.
You look over at him and smiled, “I have soda and beer. Which do you fancy more?” As you waited for his answer, you noticed the food was just warm. “Ah, let me microwave these a bit.”
You carry the plates over to the kitchen and begin to microwave them, finding the opportunity to prepare his small cup of tea upon the boiling of the water. You prepare the herbs and bring it to him, the greens steeping in the water. He takes it from you gently, his eyes still glued to you as you go to the fridge and look over at him. “Have you decided?”
He blinks for a few moments, “a beer, if you don’t mind.”
You grab two beers and pop the caps with the bottle opener on your fridge. You join his side once again and place his beer on the available cup holder near him. Nanami’s hazel eyes stare at you, with your hand eagerly holding your beer, waiting to toast. He quickly puts the tea down and takes the beer in his hand, earning a few giggles from you.
“Are you anxious, Nanami?” You asked, your voice breathy. “I have some oils I can burn if it’ll help put you at ease.”
“No, no, it’s not that at all,” he begins quietly before he clinks his beer bottle with your own. You both take a swig. His Adam's apple protrudes alluringly, his bottom lip shining with the carbonated booze. “It’s just that…” Before he could finish, his eyes burned down at your sweatshirt.
You join him and look down, searching for a stain, “ah, did I spill something already? I just washed this, and it’s not even mine…”
“This isn’t your sweatshirt?” He had a hunch, but he wasn’t looking forward to being right.
You nod, “it’s Tae’s, the barista you hired? He lent it to me when I was starting to get that bad cold I got recently.”
“Ah.” It was the only word that came out of Nanami’s lips. He silently grabs your beer and puts both drinks down on the coffee table. As the ringing of the microwave sounded, you watched as Nanami stripped off his own sweatshirt (a beautiful navy blue shade) and put out one of his hands. You stare puzzled before you notice he begins to flick his middle finger, requesting the sweatshirt you were in.
Obediently, you strip the sweatshirt off, feeling your cheeks warm from the Hello Kitty shirt you had underneath. But Nanami pays it no mind, his hazel eyes unwavering as he fixes his sweatshirt before pulling it over your head. He lets go, allowing you to pull down the sweatshirt. The immediate smell of green tea and hinoki wood intoxicates you, the scent of Nanami taking you over. You could get drunk from his smell, unable to contain the feelings in your heart.
“Please feel free to ask me for warmth whenever you are cold,” Nanami instructs, his eyes satisfied with your new look. He reaches over your face, and pushes a strand of loose hair to the back of your ear. “This color suits you nicely.”
You can feel your face go completely hot, “y-yeah?”
“I’d like to see you wear my dress shirts someday,” he says with a cheeky smile. You then jump, your face completely flushed. Nanami searches your face, confused by your reaction. But he quickly bites his tongue, realizing his words slowly. “A-ah, I’m sorry Y/N– that was highly inappropriate.”
“It’s fine! I think the food is ready!” You escape by rushing over to the microwave, slowly bringing over two steaming plates of food. You put both plates down and retrieve the remaining plastic utensils and condiments from the bag. Fixing his plate, you quickly gesture to his plate, giving him the go to eat.
As he picks up the plate and fork, you quickly grab a few napkins from the bag and place it by him on the table. “I hope it’s not too hot,” you murmur quietly as you pick up your own plate. “I’ll wait for you to eat if you want it to cool down a little.”
Nanami shakes his head, a small chuckle escaping his lips, “I can eat hot food, Y/N, don’t you worry.”
“I have to worry about you, Nanami,” you say simply, “can’t do much about it now.”
In this turn, Nanami felt his own heart skip a beat or two. He couldn’t help but stare at you adoringly. Despite not being able to talk about his woes, you didn’t force it out of him either. He never realized the power of companionship until he was here, eating half of your full meal, in your extremely warm apartment while you were in your PJs. He had always thought ethereal women always remained in the books of fairy tales. But then here you were, eating your food with your plate almost a little too close to your face so you didn’t spill and soil his sweater.
“Mm!” You hummed with a mouth full of food. Quickly chewing and swallowing, you looked up at Nanami, “please tell me how much you gave the delivery man. Let me pay you back before you go.”
Nanami looks down at you and shakes his head, silently turning to his food to begin eating. “Technically I am eating the food, therefore I owe for the meal as well.”
You snort, “I offered you half, Nanami. So with your logic, I owe you half.”
Nanami puts his plate down quietly. He picks up a napkin and dabs his lips clean before taking a swig of his beer. “Y/N, every time I come to your home, there seems to be a trend where bad things happen.”
You look at him, your expression puzzled, “how do you mean?”
“As in, every time I’ve come to visit, something unexpected happens, typically leading to something unideal for you,” Nanami says quietly.
“Ah, please don’t say that,” you say in a sad tone, “it’s purely coincidence that everything has happened the way it has.”
“Right, but now I think it’s true,” Nanami hums, looking over at you. There was an unwavering seriousness in his expression, his hazel eyes warm yet convincing. “It’s nothing bad, truly, but it is quite dangerous.”
“What is?” You reply in a whisper.
He leans over to you, his face beside yours, “my feelings for you are developing in such a way where I might accidentally skip a step or two in this relationship.”
“H-huh?” You let out in a stammer.
He backs away, but takes your hands into his own. He gives your hands a light squeeze, his smile capable of curing all woes you could have. “I have no intentions to rush this relationship,” Nanami begins, “once I make you mine, my intentions are to go at your pace completely. But I need you to understand that my feelings for you have progressed further than the current state of our relationship.”
You eye him, feeling your face burn to a crisp. “A-are you trying to s-say that you…” Your eyes fall down to your legs, your heart unable to take this much feeling in the air.
Nanami quickly chuckles, “maybe not that far, but I’m realizing now that I really do need you in my life. Because if you can make me feel better without addressing my sadness directly, then I believe I’ve always needed you in my life.”
You felt your mind go stupid, your heart going into emotional cardiac arrest. “Nanami… anybody would do this for the person they care about.” Your voice was weak, quiet. You were always ready to undermine yourself. But Nanami will never be taken by it.
“Right, but I’m glad I’m being cared about by you,” Nanami hums, “I don’t care about anybody when my eyes and heart are set on you.”
You weren’t sure what was in the air, but considering Nanami’s hold on your hands and his adoration-filled eyes, you weren’t prepared for what was going to happen next.

Fic is under the cut.
Kwon Soonyoung was the bane of your existence. He had his charming moments, sure, and he always performed well at work, but he was also arrogant, loud, and just plain rude, especially to you. Every conversation that the two of you had, even if you were only talking to him because you needed to get work done, left you even more irritated with him than you were before. His answers were brief, his tone was sarcastic, and his lack of interest was evident in every word. However, you figured that you could deal with an annoying coworker. After all, you loved your job, and you knew that you wouldn’t be able to find something in your field that paid as well as your position at Carat Interactive.
As annoying as Soonyoung was, however, you also had to admit that he was incredibly attractive, despite his tendency to act like a douchebag whenever you had the displeasure of speaking to him. His eyes were a warm shade of brown that made you melt every time you looked into them, his smile gave you butterflies every time you saw it, and his lips looked so kissable. You almost wanted to put aside your hatred to find out just how good of a kisser he was. Almost.
If Soonyoung was being completely honest with himself, he wasn’t particularly fond of you either. He thought that you were far too pretentious and far too serious for your own good. Despite all of that, though, he still couldn’t help but think that you were absolutely beautiful. Every time he saw you in the office, he couldn’t help but stare, and he hated himself for it. That didn’t stop him from doing it, though.
One day, when your annoyance with Soonyoung was at an all-time high, Seungcheol, your boss, called a team meeting. It took longer than you wanted to admit for you to find the room, but eventually, you did. Then, when you walked through the door, the only empty seat in the boardroom was right next to Soonyoung, because of course it was. You really didn’t want to sit next to him, but your desire to avoid disrupting the meeting even more than you already had won out in the end. So, you quietly took a seat and prayed that Soonyoung would not speak to you. Of course, because the gods hated you, the moment he saw you, he asked, “You couldn’t find anywhere else to sit?”
“Look around. Do you see any other open spots?”
Seungcheol cleared his throat and asked, “(Y/N). Soonyoung. Is there a problem?”
“No, there isn’t,” you answered, “Apologies for the disruption.”
“Thank you. Now, onto the reason that I called this meeting,” Seungcheol began. “I’ve noticed several issues when it comes to cooperation and respect on this team. So, I have to ask. How are we going to get anything done if no one can work together?”
“Maybe if you didn’t hire pretentious idiots that don’t know what they’re doing, things would be easier,” Soonyoung muttered.
“That’s exactly what I’m talking about, Soonyoung. With that attitude, we’re never going to get anything done. That’s why, as manager, I’ve decided to organize a team retreat. Hopefully, some team building exercises in a fun new location will help you all see the importance of working together.”
You wanted to complain, citing upcoming deadlines and your concerns about the nature of the “team building exercises” that Seungcheol mentioned, but you knew better than to argue with your boss, especially when he was angry.
“Does anyone have any questions?”
Seokmin was the first to speak up, asking, “Will we be paid for attending this retreat?”
“Yes,” Seungcheol answered.
“How long will the retreat last?” someone else asked.
“We’ll be gone for a week. Please make any arrangements that need to be made for pet care or childcare by Saturday, since we’re leaving next Sunday,” your boss replied. “Are there any other questions?” The room fell silent, so Seungcheol added, “Very well. If something comes up, and you do need to speak to me about the retreat, just come and find me in my office. This meeting is adjourned; thank you for your time.”
With the surprise meeting officially over, everyone left the room in hopes of finishing their assigned tasks before clocking out for the day. As you sat down at your desk, however, you heard an irritatingly familiar voice ask, “So, are you looking forward to the retreat?”
“Not even a little,” you replied, not even looking up from your work. “Are you?”
“Oh, totally,” Soonyoung said, his voice laced with sarcasm. “What could be better than being stuck with ‘Cheol and his ‘team building exercises’ for an entire week? It’s gonna be the highlight of my year.”
You couldn’t help but laugh a little bit at Soonyoung’s comment before you said, “Oh, you’re so right. I can’t believe I didn’t even consider the excitement of spending a week locked in a room with our entire team doing trust falls and talking about our feelings!”
After a brief silence, Soonyoung said, “Damn, (Y/N), I didn’t know you had it in you.”
“What do you mean?” you asked.
“I mean, you never make jokes at work. I kind of thought you didn’t know how to make jokes at all.”
“Well, I do. I also know how to be serious when it’s necessary, like when I’m at work.”
“You really need to loosen up sometimes,” Soonyoung commented, his growing frustration evident in his voice.
“I do loosen up, just not here.”
Soonyoung huffed and walked away, seemingly bored of talking to you. You wanted to tell yourself that you didn’t care about his indifference, but you found that a small part of you was disappointed that he’d walked away. Sure, he drove you insane, but you also missed his little comments when he wasn’t around. However, you knew that if you told him that, you’d never hear the end of it. So, you kept your confusing feelings to yourself.
The rest of the week passed with only a few minor arguments with Soonyoung, and before you knew it, you were driving to the hotel where you were supposed to be staying for the retreat. If you were being honest with yourself, you weren’t dreading the retreat as much as you did when you first found out about it. Sure, you weren’t thrilled to be stuck in a hotel with your coworkers for an extended period of time in an unfamiliar area, but you still wanted to be optimistic. After all, you were getting paid to be there, which meant that you basically had a week off from your actual job while still bringing in money. Plus, a small part of you hoped to meet an attractive guy to hook up with in your free time.
Your optimism was snuffed out like a flame when you got to the hotel. Due to a scheduling error, despite both of your requests to the contrary, you would be sharing a room with Soonyoung. You tried to talk to Seungcheol about the error, but he told you that there was nothing that he could do. So, while you weren’t happy about it, you decided that you would try to make the best of a bad situation.
When you got to your room, you found Soonyoung sitting on one of the beds and scrolling on his phone. Without even looking up at you, he said, “Before you say anything, just know that I’m not happy about this either.”
“I wasn’t planning on saying anything,” you retorted. “I just wanted to sit in the room. Is that ok with you?”
“Why wouldn’t it be?”
“I don’t know, you tell me. You’re the one that gets mad at me every time we talk.”
“No, I don’t. I just get tired of your pretentious fucking attitude.”
“I’m not pretentious; I just don’t screw around at work. You might wanna take some notes.”
“Why, so I can be the most boring person in the office? I’ll pass.”
“Fuck this, I’m going out.”
“Bye!”
After you left the room, you wandered around for what felt like hours before you found your friends Wonwoo and Mingyu at the hotel’s bar. When they saw you, they cheered and invited you over with smiles on their faces and drinks in their hands. Once Wonwoo noticed the look of irritation on your face, however, his smile was replaced with a look of concern as he asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I’m sharing a room with Soonyoung,” you spat.
“Are you serious?” Mingyu asked. “I thought you specifically asked to share with anyone but him.”
“I did. Seungcheol said there was an error when the trip was booked, and there’s nothing he can do. Which means I have to deal with him for a week, with no breaks.”
“I mean, this is a break, isn’t it?” Wonwoo asked.
“Yeah, I guess it is,” you replied.
As if on cue, you heard a voice behind you say, “Wonwoo! Mingyu! How are you guys?”
“Hi, Soonyoung!” Mingyu said, a mischievous smile forming on his face. “Wonwoo and I were just leaving to get some rest. (Y/N) just got here, though. You two should hang out!”
You gave Mingyu a death glare, and Soonyoung said, “That’s ok. I don’t think she wants to hang out with me.” If you didn’t know any better, you would have said that he sounded sad as he said it. That wouldn’t make any sense, though. Soonyoung hated you. Why would he be upset that you didn’t want to hang out with him?
You brushed off the thought and opened your mouth to speak, but before you could get the words out, Mingyu smiled again and said, “That’s not true! She’d love to spend some time with you. Isn’t that right, (Y/N)?”
In that moment, you felt like you couldn’t say no. So, you gritted your teeth and said, “That’s right. I don’t mind,” turning around to see Soonyoung’s face change from one of disappointment to one of what you could really only describe as excitement.
“Really? It’s ok if-”
“Really, Soonyoung,” you said, softening when you saw the change in his demeanor. “Why don’t you find us a spot to sit, and I’ll order some drinks.” He nodded and left to find a table, and you turned back to your friend and asked, “What the fuck was that?”
“Trust me, (Y/N),” Mingyu said. “I’ve known Soonyoung since high school. He’s an idiot, but he’s not an asshole. He just acts all weird with you because he likes you.”
“I don’t believe that for a second.”
“Watch how he acts after we leave. Then, when the two of you inevitably get drunk and hook up tonight, you can fall asleep afterward with the satisfaction that I was right.”
You rolled your eyes and said, “Sure, whatever. Bye.”
Mingyu and Wonwoo left, and you decided to order some sodas for you and Soonyoung. After all, you didn’t know what kind of alcohol he liked, and you really didn’t want to get drunk around him.
When you got back to the table with two glasses of cola in hand, Soonyoung smiled and said, “Thanks!”
“No problem. I didn’t know what kind of drink you’d want, so I just got sodas.”
“That’s ok. I don’t drink much, so I don’t really know either,” he responded with a laugh.
“Fair enough.”
There was an awkward silence for a few minutes before Soonyoung asked, “So, how was the drive here?”
“It could have been better. There was so much more traffic than I’m used to,” you responded with a soft laugh.
“Oh my god, I know! I guess Seungcheol picked a busy weekend or something. Listen, I love the guy, but his timing sucks when it comes to planning company events.”
You laughed a bit at Soonyoung’s comment, and some of the awkwardness in the air seemed to dissipate. You also noticed that there was a faint blush on his cheeks, but you decided not to comment on it. After all, you didn’t want the awkwardness to come back.
When Soonyoung heard your laugh, he was certain that it was the most beautiful sound that he’d ever heard. Sure, he still thought that you were far too serious at work, but actually interacting with you outside of the office made him start to reconsider the way he felt about you. He realized that he liked you a lot, and for a brief moment, he thought about asking you to continue the party in your room. He decided against it, however, not wanting to make you uncomfortable or come on too strongly.
As the night went on, you found yourself really enjoying Soonyoung’s company. He was one of the funniest people you’d talked to in a long time, he actually paid attention when you spoke, and he didn’t make a single rude comment the entire time you sat with him, still drinking sodas because neither of you wanted alcohol. You started to wonder what was different, since you’d been alone with him before, but you decided not to think about it too much. After all, there were far more interesting things to think about.
Whether it was the desperation that came from the dry spell you’d found yourself in for the past several months, the way Soonyoung looked at you as you told some story about a girls’ night gone wrong, or some strange combination of the two, you had no idea. All you knew was that you wanted Soonyoung, and you wanted him immediately.
After you finished your story, you looked at Soonyoung and asked, “Do you wanna go back to the room?”
With a smirk on his face that you knew would be the death of you, he asked, “Why? I thought we were having fun here.”
“Oh, I am,” you began, your nerves slowly starting to get the better of you. “I just thought we could have more fun back in the room.”
“What kind of fun?”
“That’s up to you.”
“Well, I have a few ideas.”
“I can’t wait to hear them.”
“When we get back to the room, I’d be happy to show you,” he said with a wink.
Before you knew it, you were paying for the drinks and walking back to your room with Soonyoung. When you got there, you had to wait for him to unlock the door, and it was torture. When the door finally opened, however, the frustration you were feeling shifted into something that you couldn’t quite name.
Soonyoung pinned you to the door the moment it was shut again, his lips meeting yours with a passion that could only be described as animalistic. As his lips moved against yours, a soft moan left your mouth, and he took that as an opportunity to deepen the kiss.
Eventually, he pulled away to let you breathe, and the only thing you could think to say was, “Wow.”
“Already so flustered you can’t even speak? You’re so cute,” Soonyoung commented with a soft laugh.
A soft whine slipped out in response, and you said, “Please do something.”
“What do you want me to do, baby?”
“Want you to touch me.”
“Where?”
“Anywhere. Just, please,” you begged, desperate for anything beyond what you’d already been given.
Soonyoung pretended to think for a minute before he smiled at you and said, “Lie down on the bed for me, baby.”
You immediately did as you were told, and Soonyoung settled himself between your legs before pulling your skirt up and your panties down. Then, he started placing gentle kisses on your inner thigh, only biting occasionally. Every touch left you wanting more, and you could only take so much teasing. When it all got to be too much, you whined and said, “Please, just fuck me already!”
Soonyoung laughed against you and said, “Alright, princess.”
With no additional warning or teasing, Soonyoung slowly licked a stripe up your pussy. A loud moan left your mouth at the sudden stimulation, and it was all you could do to stay still as he continued to eat you out there was nothing in the world that he wanted to do more.
Each time he moaned against you, shockwaves of pleasure went through your body, and you knew that you probably wouldn’t last long. You wanted to be embarrassed, since your annoying coworker was the reason you were so turned on, but you really couldn’t bring yourself to care. After all, Soonyoung was already better at pleasing you than any other man you’d been with before him.
“Fuck, feels so good,” you moaned, tangling your hands in his hair. Soonyoung didn’t respond verbally, but the way he started to move his tongue faster after you spoke told you that he heard you loud and clear.
It was only a matter of time before you started to feel your release building inside you. With a loud whine, you said, “’m close.” Soonyoung groaned against you one more time, and that was all it took for your orgasm to wash over you with a loud moan of his name. He continued his movements as you reached your high, stopping just before the pleasure would have turned into pain.
Once you caught your breath, you sat up and pulled Soonyoung into a kiss, and the fire of lust that you thought had been put out was lit once again. Within minutes, both of you had thrown your clothes on the floor, and Soonyoung was on top of you. After he lined himself up with your entrance, you kissed him again, and he took the opportunity to carefully push into you.
A loud moan left your mouth as Soonyoung entered you, and you held onto him for dear life while you adjusted to his size. He was much bigger than the men you’d previously been with, so it took longer for you to adjust than you would have expected. Not that you were complaining, of course.
Once you were ready, you gave Soonyoung the green light, and he slowly started moving. Every drag of his cock inside you had you seeing stars, and you swore he was better in bed than anyone else that you’d been with before him. As he increased the speed of his thrusts, however, you found that you weren’t thinking about anyone else anymore.
Soonyoung loved watching you fall apart underneath him, if he was being completely honest. Sure, he didn’t exactly plan to sleep with you when he first ran into you at the bar, but he definitely wasn’t complaining. You felt too good around him for him to complain, and he loved every moan and whine that left your lips as he pounded into you.
Just like when he’d gotten you off with his tongue, you knew pretty early on that you probably wouldn’t last long with Soonyoung’s cock inside of you. Still, you really didn’t care. All you cared about was the pleasure coursing through your veins with every movement.
“Fuck. You feel so good, baby. Like this pussy was made for me,” Soonyoung said in between groans. You were too fucked out to respond verbally, but the fact that you started moaning louder after he spoke told him that you heard him loud and clear.
“I’m close, baby. Where do you want it?”
“Inside, please, please, please,” you begged, desperate for Soonyoung to fill you.
Within seconds, Soonyoung reached his high, filling you with cum. Your release came not long after that, and you pulled him in for another kiss as you came undone around his cock. Eventually, you had to pull away for air, but the way he looked into your eyes as you came down from your high left butterflies in your stomach and a smile on your face.
After you both caught your breath, Soonyoung said, “Let’s get you cleaned up, baby,” and climbed off of you. Once you felt like you could move, you took his outstretched hand and stood up, pulling him into a hug. When he let go, you both moved to clean up and get dressed.
Once you were both dressed and comfortable again, you pulled Soonyoung into a hug and asked, “Can we share a bed tonight?”
“Of course, baby. Which one?”
“I don’t think it matters,” you answered with a laugh.
Soonyoung smiled and led you to the bed furthest from the door, and you immediately snuggled into his side. The bed was small, so you had to lie down pretty much on top of him to avoid falling off, but neither of you really minded.
While Soonyoung held you close, the two of you talked about your interests and lives outside of work, with each of you hoping to get to know the other better. The conversation didn’t last very long though, since both of you fell asleep in a matter of minutes, surprised by the events of the day but happy to end it in each other’s arms.
The next morning, you woke up on the floor in between the room’s two beds. At some point during the night, you rolled over too far and fell out of Soonyoung’s bed, much to your frustration and his amusement when he woke up and realized what had happened. Once he stopped laughing, however, he helped you up and asked, “Are you ok?”
“Yeah, I’m alright. I guess I fell out of bed while I was sleeping.”
“I noticed. You looked kind of cute on the floor,” he replied, starting to laugh again.
You pouted at his comment and said, “Why are you laughing at me?”
“I’m just laughing because of how adorable you are, sweetheart.”
You started to smile when he called you cute again and pulled him into a hug. With a groan of frustration, you said, “I really don’t want to participate in whatever Seungcheol has planned for today.”
“I know. I’m pretty sure I heard him mention trust falls when we were all in the lobby last night.”
“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me,” you said, laughing at the cliché team building your boss apparently had planned.
“I wish I was. But I swear, I specifically heard him say the words ‘trust falls’ to Jeonghan.”
“Oh my god,” you groaned, dreading the event even more.
“Yeah, I’m not excited about it either. Look on the bright side, though. I’ll be right there with you the whole time, no matter how awkward and boring it gets.”
You smiled when you heard Soonyoung say that he’d be there with you, and without really thinking about it, you kissed him again. He deepened the kiss pretty much immediately, with his hands finding their way to your hair and pulling slightly. A soft moan left your lips, and he pulled away with a grin on his face before he said, “Later, baby.”
“That’s not fair! You started it!”
“Yes I did.”
You laughed at his boldness, and the two of you got ready together to face the day ahead. While you went about your morning routine, you occasionally noticed Soonyoung staring at you with a dopey grin on his face and something that you couldn’t quite identify in his eyes. The third time you caught him staring at you, you finally decided to just ask, “What are you looking at?”
“You. Why do you ask? Is it a problem?”
“No. I just wanna know what’s so interesting that I’ve caught you looking at me three different times now.”
“You are. Plus, you look really fucking sexy,” he replied with a wink.
You rolled your eyes, but your soft laugh at his answer betrayed your attempt at looking annoyed.
After your little exchange, you went back to getting ready, and when it was time to leave, you and Soonyoung left together to go to the convention center near your hotel. When you got there, several of your coworkers stared at the two of you, clearly perplexed as to how you two were interacting without an argument.
When you ran into Mingyu, he gave you a knowing smile and asked, “So, how was your night?”
“It was pretty good,” you admitted, looking at Soonyoung as you spoke. “Turns out we have more in common than we thought.”
“See?” Mingyu asked. “I told you to trust me.”
Before Soonyoung could ask what Mingyu meant, Wonwoo arrived and said, “So, (Y/N), I see you had an interesting night.”
You rolled your eyes at the comment and said, “Shut up.”
“Shit, we have to go!” Mingyu groaned. “Do you remember where Seungcheol we were doing the things?”
“No, I don’t,” you answered.
“I do,” Soonyoung said. “Follow me.”
You followed Soonyoung down one of the convention center’s many hallways until you stood in front of a door that was labeled, “Carat Interactive Team Building.” When you entered the room, you noticed a very large stage, complete with a microphone and a banner above it that said, “Trust Falls.” That was when you realized that Soonyoung really wasn’t kidding about what he’d overheard the night before, and you stifled a laugh. You didn’t find the situation funny anymore, however, when your boss took his place in front of the microphone with a look of what could only be described as rage on his face. With a deep sigh, he began, “Welcome to day one of the Carat Interactive team building retreat. We’re here today so that you all can build stronger bonds with your teammates and hopefully learn something new about what it really means to work together and trust each other.”
Soonyoung snickered at Seungcheol’s introduction and said, “We wouldn’t need to learn how to work together if you were better at coordinating.”
“What was that, Soonyoung?” Seungcheol asked, clearly tired of your coworker’s bullshit.
“I said that we wouldn’t need to learn how to work together if you were better at coordinating,” Soonyoung repeated loudly, unfazed by Seungcheol’s anger.
Seungcheol sighed again before he smiled and said, “You know what, thank you, Soonyoung. Thank you so much for volunteering to start our first activity of the day.”
“Hey, I didn’t-” Soonyoung began.
“I don’t care!” Seungcheol exclaimed, his previous rage replaced with unsettling excitement. “Our first team building exercise is trust falls. Each of you will take turns coming up onto this stage and sharing something about yourself that you’ve never told the rest of the team. After you share, you will turn so that your back is facing your teammates and fall backward, trusting your teammates to catch you. Is that clear?” After a series of vague expressions of affirmation and nods from your coworkers, your boss added, “Come on up, Soonyoung! Thank you so much for agreeing to go first.”
Hesitantly, Soonyoung joined Seungcheol on stage and asked, “Why are we doing this?”
“I just told you why. Now, share something that your teammates don’t know about you!” Seungcheol replied, the unsettling excitement in his voice making him sound like a game show host that had been possessed by a demon.
Seungcheol stepped out of the way, and with a sigh, Soonyoung stepped closer to the microphone as you and the rest of your coworkers stepped closer to the stage to catch him. After another deep breath, he said, “I really don’t want to be here right now,” his solemn demeanor making it seem like he was sharing his darkest secret with the group instead of just being a smartass.
You laughed at his “admission,” which earned you a glare from Seungcheol. He didn’t say anything, though, which was a huge relief.
As everyone else on your team took turns sharing secrets and falling, you realized that Seungcheol had intentionally picked you last. You should have been upset, but all you could think about was how grateful you were that you got to put off your part of the exercise for as long as possible.
When Seungcheol called your name, you made your way onto the stage, and he said, “What would you like to share with your teammates today?”
With a deep breath to calm your nerves, you said, “I worry too much about what other people think, and sometimes I think that no one actually likes me.”
You stepped forward, turned your back to your coworkers, and fell, hoping that someone would actually catch you. After you fell, you felt several sets of arms holding you above the ground. When your feet were back on the floor, you turned and realized that Soonyoung was one of the people that caught you. With the same smirk on his face that he had at the bar, he said, “I mean, I had a feeling that you would fall for me after last night, but this seems a bit excessive.”
You laughed at his comment and said, “Thank you.”
With all of the trust falls complete, Seungcheol dismissed you all from the auditorium by saying, “That’s all we had planned for today. Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone, but don’t do anything stupid. I’m looking at you, Soonyoung.”
The man in question laughed and reached his hand out to grab yours. You smiled at the small gesture, and he said, “So, what do you wanna do now?”
“I think I’d like to just go back to the room, if that’s ok.”
“Of course, baby.”
You and Soonyoung made your way back to the hotel room, and when you got there, you collapsed on your bed and sighed. Soonyoung laughed a bit at your actions, and you asked, “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing, sweetheart. You’re just so cute.”
“Oh, shut up.”
“Hmmm, no thanks,” he responded with a laugh. You laughed along with him, and he took a seat on his bed. Once the laughter turned to silence, however, his demeanor grew serious, and he asked, “You know that I really do like you, right?”
“What?”
“I’m talking about what you said during the trust falls. You know that I really do like you, right?”
“Oh. Well, I guess I do now.”
“I mean it.”
“Thanks,” you said with a soft smile.
There was another silence before Soonyoung asked, “So, what do you wanna do?”
“Can we just talk?”
“Yeah, of course. Getting to know you better has been really nice.”
With that, the two of you talked about anything and everything that came to mind until it got too late for either of you to keep your eyes open. That was when you both went to sleep, each of you in your separate beds this time. You briefly considered asking if you could share a bed with Soonyoung again, but you didn’t want to make him uncomfortable or wake up on the floor again, so you decided against it.
The rest of the week went by with no other major events, and you couldn’t wait to finally go home after being stuck in an unfamiliar city with your coworkers for a week. The drive home was far more peaceful than you expected, with significantly less traffic than when you’d driven to the hotel at the start of the week. When you finally got home, the first thing you did was text Soonyoung.
Y/N: Hi. Just wanted to say I had a lot of fun with you this week.
Soonyoung: I had fun too. Any time you wanna hang out, just let me know.
Y/N: I will, thanks. See you at work tomorrow.
Soonyoung: See you tomorrow.
After that, you decided to enjoy the rest of your day by ordering a pizza from the restaurant near your apartment and watching your favorite movie for the thousandth time while you ate it. The time to just exist in your apartment and not worry about expectations from your boss or what your coworkers thought of you was badly needed, and at the end of the day, you went to bed feeling much better about the mandatory fun your boss had spent the past week subjecting you to.
When you went back to work the following Monday, you noticed that everyone in the office was far nicer to you than usual, except for Soonyoung. He wasn’t exactly rude to you, but he also didn’t talk to you nearly as much as he had when the two of you were away. You didn’t worry too much, though, assuming that he was just tired from the trip and wanted a bit of space.
After a few weeks of Soonyoung not talking to you unless it was absolutely necessary, however, you started to worry. Had you said or done something to upset him at some point while you were at the retreat? You had no idea, so you decided to try again to talk to him whenever you could get him alone.
The opportunity to ask Soonyoung what the hell was going on came when you least expected it. You’d gone into the office break room and noticed that he was the only person there. He saw you at the same time that you saw him, and he tried to leave the room. Before he could, though, you stood in front of the door and asked, “Why haven’t you been talking to me?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” he answered, clearly uncomfortable.
“Don’t play dumb with me,” you answered, sick of his shit already. “Since we got home, you’ve refused to talk to me unless you absolutely have to. Why?”
With a sigh, Soonyoung said, “I just got nervous around you after the stuff that happened during the retreat. Can I make it up to you?”
“How?”
“I’ll do whatever you want, baby,” he answered, with that god damn smirk forming on his face as he spoke. Honestly, it probably shouldn’t have had the effect on you that it did, especially when you considered how upset you were that he’d been avoiding you. When you looked into his eyes, however, you didn’t care that he’d upset you. All you could think about was how badly you wanted him.
So, you turned away from Soonyoung just long enough to lock the door before turning back to him and kissing him with everything you had. The intensity almost knocked him over, but he stood firm as he wrapped his arms around you. You moaned softly into the kiss, and Soonyoung pulled away just long enough to say, “Just tell me what you want, baby, and it’s yours.”
“Want you.”
“I kind of figured as much,” he teased. “Do you want my mouth, my fingers, or my cock, princess?”
“Fingers, please?”
“Your wish is my command, my darling,” he said as he shifted your panties to the side and gently inserted two fingers into you. You cried out at the feeling, moving your hips ever so slightly as he fucked you.
With another loud whine, you said, “Feels so good.”
“I know, baby. I love how much of a mess you are for me.”
His words made your head spin, and you started to buck your hips up to meet his hand again. With every movement, you felt yourself already heading toward your release. This time, you were slightly embarrassed, but your arousal overruled any judgement or embarrassment as you lost yourself in the way Soonyoung’s fingers felt inside of you.
“I’m close,” you said, desperate to reach your high.
Once he processed what you said, Soonyoung started to lightly kiss your neck, and his mouth on you was the exact push that you needed to go tumbling over the edge. He continued to gently fuck you through your release until you started to push his hand away, overwhelmed by the continued stimulation.
Once you came down from your high, you leaned closer to Soonyoung to kiss him, but he moved at the last second, sending you tumbling to the floor. After you caught your breath, you stood up and asked, “What the fuck?”
Soonyoung didn’t answer, though, because he was too busy unlocking the door and running out of the room, since you were no longer blocking him. Once you realized that he’d left, and you were alone in the break room, you started to sob uncontrollably, wondering what you’d done wrong for him to treat you like you were nothing to him unless he was fucking you.
Once you calmed down, you stood up, brushed yourself off, and walked out of the break room to go back to the work you’d left unfinished. When you got back to your desk, Wonwoo approached you and asked, “Are you ok? Mingyu said he heard sobs coming from the break room.”
The question almost made you cry again, but you managed to maintain your composure long enough to choke out, “I’m fine. It’s a long story. Can I tell you later?”
“Yeah, of course.”
“Thanks for looking out for me.”
“That what friends are for,” he said with a smile.
Wonwoo walked away after that, and you went back to your work. For the most part, you didn’t have any additional problems, which you appreciated. The only real issue was the fact that you couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened with Soonyoung. Why had he been so cold toward you after what happened in the break room? You had no idea, so you tried to the best of your ability to not think about it. All of your thoughts were on Soonyoung once again, however, when he sent you a text after work.
Soonyoung: I’m sorry I left as quickly as I did. Seungcheol texted me to tell me to get back to work, and I panicked.
Y/N: Are you fucking serious? You couldn’t have said something before you left the room?
After that, you didn’t get a reply, so you decided to try again to avoid thinking about Soonyoung. Just like every other time you’d tried to purge unwanted thoughts from your head, however, thoughts of him and what he wanted from you plagued pretty much every waking moment. After weeks of struggling with what to do, you decided to go to the man that started it all for advice.
When you showed up at Mingyu’s apartment unannounced, your friend was surprised, to say the least. Regardless, he happily let you into his apartment and asked, “What’s up?”
“We need to talk about Soonyoung.”
“What do you mean?
“He won’t talk to me unless he wants to fuck.”
“That doesn’t sound like Soonyoung. He’s an idiot, sure, but he’s not an asshole.” To prove your point, you showed Mingyu your messaging history with Soonyoung. He was surprised to say the least, but he didn’t try to argue anymore. All he said was, “I’m so sorry. If I’d known he’d act that way, I would never have set you two up.”
“I’m not here for an apology. I’m here for advice. I want to ignore the way I feel about him, but I just can’t anymore.”
“Wait, what do you mean by ‘the way you feel about him?’”
You sighed and answered, “I think I want an actual relationship with him.”
Mingyu was shocked by your admission, but once he got over that, he said, “I think you should tell him that.”
“’Gyu, I love you, but are you crazy?”
“Please, just trust me on this.”
“Trusting you is what got me into this situation in the first place!”
“And trusting me is what’s going to get you out of it. I know Soonyoung. If you tell him, he’ll realize that he’s been acting like an idiot and fix things.”
With a sigh, you reluctantly said, “Ok. Thanks for the advice.”
“It’s no problem. You know I’ll always be here for you.”
With that, you pulled Mingyu into a hug, hoping that he was right about Soonyoung. As you left his apartment, you contemplated when you wanted to talk to him. After some careful consideration, you knew exactly when and how you wanted to confront him.
In the end, you decided that Valentine’s Day was the perfect time to go to Soonyoung’s apartment and confront him. You didn’t initially want the discussion to happen on the holiday, but when you realized that it was the next time you would be free, you knew that you had the perfect opportunity to solve the Soonyoung problem once and for all. Either he would confess that he wanted more, which was perfect for the holiday of love, or he would tell you he never wanted to see you again, which would be a perfect example of dark irony. Regardless of the outcome, you figured that there was no better time to get the answers that you so desperately wanted.
You knocked on Soonyoung’s door, and it took some time for him to answer it. When he opened the door and saw you standing in front of him, he tried to close the door. Before he could fully shut it, however, you yelled, “Can we talk, please?”
Hesitantly, Soonyoung opened the door again and asked, “What do you want?”
“I wanna know why you only talk to me when you’re horny.”
“What? What the fuck do you-”
“Every time you’ve called or texted me since we’ve been home from that stupid retreat that Seungcheol put together, it’s been because you wanted sex. I want to know why you think so little of me that you think that’s ok.”
“I don’t think that little of you.”
“Then why the fuck do you do it?”
With a deep sigh, he answered, “Just come inside, and we’ll talk.”
Reluctantly, you agreed, and he moved out of the doorway to let you in. Once you were in his apartment, he led you to his couch. As you sat down, you asked, “Why did we have to talk here?”
With a deep sigh, Soonyoung said, “So I could do this,” and kissed you.
You started to melt into the kiss, just like you always did when you were with him, but it only took a minute for you to snap out of it, pull away, and say, “I’m not having sex with you today, Soonyoung.”
“I know.”
You were quiet after that, confused by the way he was acting and irritated that you let the situation get as far as it did. After a few minutes lost in your thoughts, you said, “Just tell me what you want. If you just want someone to have sex with, tell me. If you want a relationship, tell me. Either way, I’ll be ok. I just can’t stand the games.”
It was in that moment that Soonyoung realized that he fucked up. With another deep sigh, he said, “I want a relationship with you. I’m sorry that I ever made you think otherwise. Can you forgive me?”
You softened when you noticed the tears forming in his eyes, and against your better judgement, you said, “Of course.”
Soonyoung smiled and pulled you into a hug after that, relieved that he hadn’t lost you completely. While he held you close, he said, “Does this mean what I think it means?” You nodded against him, and he let go of you just long enough to cup your face in his hands and say, “Thank you for giving me a chance.”
“Thank you for finally giving me a straight answer about what I am to you.”
With that same smirk on his face, he asked, “So, baby, how do you want to celebrate our first Valentine’s Day together?”
“I’m happy to celebrate however you want. As long as we’re spending time together, I’m fine with anything. I still don’t want to have sex tonight, though.”
“That’s perfectly fine, princess. I’m sorry about how I treated you. You must think I’m an idiot, huh?”
“Just a little, but you’re my idiot.”
With that, you relaxed into Soonyoung’s hold, content with the way your conversation went. You weren’t entirely sure that you trusted him yet, but you still wanted to give him a chance. After all, you liked the way that he made you feel now that you weren’t angry anymore.

Tumblr media
The past week or so had been nothing but bliss. I spent every morning curled up on my chaise lounge reading a book and eating whatever home cooked breakfast that was brought to me. It was just as I had dreamed, silk pajamas and expensive champagne, sleeping in and spa treatments.
Rhys and his “brothers” had been extremely busy the past couple of days, I hadn’t yet seen them since the first night we spent together. I hadn’t heard from them either, but as long as the gold in my account kept being accepted at every manner of boutique and fancy restaurants I didn’t much care when my services were needed.
I made my way through the townhouse and to my room, bags in hand and hair freshly done. I had spent the day at the hair salon and decided it would be a crime to return straight home with a fresh blowout, so I treated myself to lunch and of course some shopping as well.
When I returned to my room I found a black box waiting for me on my too large bed. Setting the bags aside I made a beeline to the mysterious box tossing the lid open with little care. My eyes went wide at what I saw inside. A babydoll made of deep purple lace and a silky mesh lay in the box. It was beautiful, but that wasn’t the lingerie that made me lose my breath, it was the diamond necklace that lay on top of it.
I picked up both gifts prompting a note to tumble out of the folds,
Your presence is requested by your High Lord…
There was no doubt in my mind that Rhysand was the one to send such a lavish gift. While I’m sure Cassian and Azriel were paid handsomely I could buy a house or two with this necklace.
I wasted no time changing into the attire Rhys had bought for me. I wondered if this would be a recurring thing for him. He had told Cassian and Azriel they could dress me however they pleased, but none had yet to take advantage of it.
I tiptoe down the hall to where I can practically feel his power seeping through the door. He had been holed up in his office all week. There were times I thought to check on him, offer him some release or even some company, but I didn’t want to pester him and lose my paycheck.
My hand lingers on the doorknob for a moment before closing around it and pushing the door open. I find Rhysand in the exact same place he was when I first came here, hunched over stacks of papers and drinking a whiskey on the rocks.
“There you are,” he says low, rising from his plush chair, his presence making me feel small. “Do you know what I was reading over?” he asks, waving a piece of paper in the air.
“No my lord,” I reply and I don’t miss the glimmer in his eye as I utter the familiar name he claimed to love so much.
“This, little one,” he smirks, further closing the distance between us. “Is your bank statement.” he smiles tossing the paper on a nearby chair.
My blood runs cold. Had I spent too much? Did I overdraft my account somehow? I was sure I hadn’t spent that much money in the past week.
“200 gold marks at Rita’s for dinner last night,” he states, coming behind me pulling my hair to the side so he has access to my neck.
“300 gold marks at a boutique, 100 marks buying lacy underthings and another 100 gold marks buying shoes.” he smirks, placing kisses on my neck as he lists every expense.
“I-I’m sorry did I overdraft my account? I can return the shoes, or the ‘lacy underthings’ as you so call them?” I wince praying I’m not about to get fired.
“If you take back those lacy underthings you will be fired,” he chuckles, resting his hands on my hips.
I mentally curse myself for forgetting his ability to pry into my mind, but I stop kicking myself the moment he kisses that sensitive spot underneath my ear.
“On the contrary, little one. You aren’t spending enough of my money.” he smiles, brushing a hand over the lace covering my breasts and up to my necklace. “I thought you could use some help.”
“They’re beautiful my lord,” I breathe, feeling him lick a stripe up the column of my neck.
“The next time I fuck you I want you dripping in diamonds and jewels that I bought you, is that clear?” he asks smugly and I swear if he wasn’t bracing his hands on my hips my legs would’ve buckled.
“Yes my lord,” I breathe leaning into his touch as I feel him smirk against the shell of my ear
“Good girl,” he praises me and I feel my stomach flutter once more. “Now I have unfinished business with you.” he growls and my eyes snap open as his hand traces around my necklace.
“You see last time I was denied you, I had to watch my brothers fuck and fill what’s mine and I didn’t like it very much.” he says dangerously low as his fingers dance over the diamonds around my neck. “Who put this pretty little collar around your neck?”
“You did my lord,” I breathe as he turns to face me.
“That’s right I did,” he smiles tilting my chin up to meet his gaze. “And whose money do you spend all around town on expensive wine and shoes?”
“Yours,” I say, my love drunk eyes boring into his.
“Good girl,” Rhys smirks, dragging a thumb over my lips. “Now I have need of you but, I’m not done with work.” he says, dropping his hand from my face, making me miss the contact already.
He strolls around the desk and sits down on his ornate chair again. Part of me wondered what his throne looked like if this was just the chair to his office. I hear his belt unbuckling as he frees himself from his slacks, standing tall, proud and practically throbbing for attention.
“Come here little one,” he croons as he tugs his cock a couple times in his hand, getting it hard and ready for me.
I approach him smoothly, I think he wants me under his desk with my mouth on his cock but the second I’m within arms reach of him I feel his hands on my hips. The next thing I know he’s slipping me on his cock like I’m nothing more than a cock sleeve for him.
“There we go, nice and snug in there,” he smirks, nibbling my earlobe.
I can hardly think or even breathe from the sheer size of him. I was almost embarrassed that he didn’t even have to touch me to warm me up for him. His words alone had me dripping wet for him making it easy for him to slide right in.
“Now,” he chuckles, feeling the tension in my body. “I’m going to finish some paperwork and you're going to sit right here and keep my cock nice and warm alright little one?”
“Yes my lord,” I mewled, already sweating, needing him to move.
“Good girl,” he smiles, pressing a kiss to my cheek. “No talking, no moving, and no touching yourself or you don’t get to cum.”
I nod shallowly as he begins to resume his paperwork.
It was probably the biggest exercise of self control I had ever practiced.  I knew how good it felt to ride Rhys, knew how good it felt when he lost control and pistoned inside of me until I fell apart under him. To sit here and be so close to that kind of pleasure? It was torture.
The ticking of the clock on the wall only furthered my madness. I averted my eyes to where Rhys was scribbling on scroll, the scratching of a fountain pen equally as infuriating. The way his hand gripped the fountain pen, the veins standing out. How could his hands possibly be arousing? Was there a part of this male that wasn’t arousing to me?
I pictured what those hands might do should they find their way on my skin. Where they might touch first, the ideas had my pussy clenching as I take in a sharp breath.
Rhys’ hand on my waist flew to my thigh slapping it hard, “Bad girl, I felt that,” he growled and I had to bite my lip not to whimper.
The scratching of his pen on paper echoed throughout the room as I did everything in my power not to move, not to breathe or think about anything but being completely still.
“150 gold marks at the perfumery huh?” Rhys croons holding the receipt for the perfume I bought two days ago.
“Yes my lord,” I say, eyeing the receipt that had yet to bear his signature.
“Let’s see what I purchased then,” he utters slowly, his nose nuzzles my neck inhaling the scent of the new perfume. “Mmm, very nice little one.” His voice is low and husky and I can’t help but clench around him once more.
He growls, grabbing the back of my neck and hauling me up before slamming my front on top of his desk. On instinct I try to move but I’m held down by his hand on the back of my neck. His cock slips out of me, leaving me cold and empty, I’m half tempted to beg him to fill me again.
“What did I say about moving?” he snarls in my ear, making me whimper.
“I’m sorry,” I mewl, making him laugh.
“You aren’t, but you will be,” he chuckles.
His hand grips the hem of the light chiffon of the babydoll and tosses it over the small of my back so he can see all of me. I feel his hand smooth over my bum before spanking me hard. The sting makes me whimper until his hand comes back to soothe over the area.
Without warning he buries himself inside of me, his balls smacking my clit. The guttural moan he lets out is nothing short of pornographic. I can feel the bulge in my belly that he leaves, his tip brushing my cervix like he did last time.
He pulls out and moves in slow languid motions, making me feel every harsh inch of him. I’d like to think he’s warming me up but I know he’s warning himself up, this is all about him.
“Gods your pussy is worth every single piece of gold I pay you? Do you know that?” he growls picking up the pace a bit.
I whimper in response, feeling him move his hand from my neck to my hip to keep me from lurching forward so much. Out of the corner of my eye I see him shift the receipt from the perfume on the desk and grab a pen. Is he really signing my bills as he fucks me over his desk? The scratching of his signature on the page lets me know he is.
“Every fucking penny,” he grunts before tossing the heavy pen on the desk.
The thud of the pen is followed by another grunt before his hand goes to my upper back pressing me back into the desk again. His fingers on my hips and between my shoulderblades keep me from moving even an inch as he pistons his hips into me, a male gone feral.
“Oh fuck Rhys!” I moan feeling my eyes roll to the back of my head.
My fingers grab the edge of the desk trying to keep myself from moving too much, needing something to dig my nails into. The sound of skin slapping fills the room as Rhys’ breathing picks up with the rhythm of his thrusts.
I clench around him and I receive a harsh slap to my behind once again. The sting startles me but fades into pleasure.
“Don’t you dare cum little one,” Rhys growls, increasing his pace. “You were a bad girl, bad girls don't get to cum.”
I let out a whimper at his words. I swear to the gods if this man leaves me trembling on the desk from not finishing with his cum leaking out of me I will lose my mind. I’ll run and find Cassain and beg him to finish the job, which I know he will. Azriel is another story. I think he might end up tying me up and getting off on me begging, hell I might get off on it too.
“Rhys please,” I cry as he presses my cheek further into the cool, smooth wood of the desk. Pens and picture frames rattling off from every thrust.
His hand comes down on my ass again as he pistons into me, searching for his own release. Long fingers dig into the skin of my hips leaving marks in their wake.
“Are you going to beg little one?” Rhys laughs, thrusting harder making me too dumb to speak.
My eyes roll to the back of my head as he finds that spot that drives me wild. I’m sure he’s not trying to, clearly just trying to get himself off. Yet somehow he’s fucked me dumb already and I’m a babbling mess bent over his desk.
“Tell you what if you beg nice and pretty I’ll let you cum?” Rhys chuckles. “Can you do that for me, little one?”
As if snapped out of the trance I’m in I feel my thoughts come back to my head. I’ll beg for him, I’d do anything for this male. I knew the second I met him I’d be utterly devoted to him if he just fucked me right, and by the cauldron he does.
“Please, please, please, please my lord,” I cry, feeling like a cock drunk fool. “Please let me cum!”
Rhys chuckles, grabbing the back of my hair and angling my head so my cheek isn’t pressed into the wood anymore. I almost wished there was a mirror in front of us so I could see  the way he’s taking me.
“If you  make a mess, you’ll have to clean it up. Can’t have other High Lord’s coming in here and seeing my whores cum all over my desk,” he smirks fucking me harder.
A sick part of me wanted just that to happen. Hell let the other High Lord’s watch him fuck me.
“I’ll be good, I’ll clean up,” I rasp out feeling tears prick my eyes. “P-Please let me cum.” I breathe.
It suddenly occurs to me that this is truly revenge from our last encounter when I wasn’t allowed to let him cum. He wanted me to beg just as hard as he did that night.
His hand in my hair tightens, lifting my front off the desk. My back is forced to arch and somehow he’s able to fuck me even deeper in this postion. My eyes fly open and I’m met with a pair of raging violet ones.
“Couldn't reach that pretty clit with your face pressed against the desk,” he smirks and before I can say anything his finger finds that sensitive pearl between my legs rubbing little circles in it.
My mouth falls open as the coil in my stomach threatens to unravel. His fingers continue their tantalizing ministrations on my clit. The impressive length of his cock digs deep in my belly. I close my eyes for a moment, feeling overstimulated. The hand he has fisted in my hair shakes as he forces me to arch my back more.
“Eyes on me little one,” he growls and when my eyes flutter open I see his violet ones staring back at me, eating up every reaction I give him.
My mouth falls open as I slip back into that cock drunk feeling and his eyes drink me up, seemling getting off on my fucked out face.
“Yeah you like that?” he smirks, not taking his eyes off me. “You like being my little cock slut?”
The words falling from his lips are enough to have me coming undone for him in a string of moans and cries. Tears fall from my cheeks, and I swear I feel him lick one up before he slams into me one last time, sputtering inside me so deeply I can feel the warmth coating my insides.
The grunts that fall from his mouth are enough to make me want more, but as he releases my hair and gravity pulls my body to the desk again I realize how spent I truly am.
I hear the chair squeak behind me, signaling that he’s sitting down, no doubt watching his cum spill out of me as I haven’t gotten the energy to move.
“Oh little one you’re such a messy girl,” he teases, running a finger up my folds collecting the mixture of our releases that are there.
I mewl as I feel him graze my overstimulated clit. I pull my head up to examine his desk, pen cups and picture frames are knocked over, papers are lying on the floor. My eyes widen as I see faint claw marks from my nails in the wood of the desk.
“What did I say about messes?” he tuts behind me.
I let my body slink to the floor, hitting my knees at the edge of his desk. He runs a large hand through my hair from where he sits behind me and my eyes come face to face to the mess we made.
Rising on my knees I let my tongue lap up the salty sweetness of him and that's right in front of me. His hand pushes my head down a bit forcing me to take every last drop. Only when the wood is spotless do I feel him thread his fingers through my hair and pull me back so he’s looking at me again.
“Such a good girl for me,” he smiles, leaning down to give me an upside down kiss. “Let’s get you cleaned up little one, you’ll sleep with me tonight.”
I’ll give the High Lord one thing, he fucked like a god, but what he really did well was aftercare. Always cleaning me up and getting me fluids. Holding my shaking body until I fell asleep. Something told me he longed for this type of intimacy as well. Cassian was the same that first night as well. Fetching me snacks and stroking my hair. The mysterious third brother, Azriel, had yet to show his cards. But something told me I’d be seeing him sooner than later.

You hadn’t expected to see her again.
The moment you stepped into the practice room for your first day as the new vocal coach, your heart had skipped a beat. There, standing in the corner, with her back to you and her familiar pink hair tucked under a cap, was Chaewon.
She wasn’t the same girl you had once known — that girl who would steal kisses in hidden corners and laugh into your shoulder after a long day of training. This Chaewon was polished, poised, and cold. She didn’t look up when you entered, but you could feel her stiffen, the subtle tension that pulled at the air around her.
You wanted to turn and walk out. To leave the past behind. But the weight of her presence, the years of unanswered questions, made it impossible.
The other trainees looked at you curiously as you made your way to the front. You’d trained vocalists for years, but today, your role felt unfamiliar. You weren’t just a coach now. You were an ex-lover standing in front of someone who had erased you from their life.
“Alright, everyone,” you began, trying to push the tightness in your throat down. “Let’s get started. We’ll start with group exercises before we focus on individual sessions.”
Chaewon hadn’t looked at you. Not once. It was as if you didn’t exist. You’d seen her perform on stage countless times, watched her grow into the idol she was today, but in that moment, all the air in the room felt stale. How had it come to this?
She wasn’t supposed to be this person. The girl you knew was gentle, sweet, and full of laughter. But now, she was just another idol. Just another trainee.
A perfect stranger.
The first few hours were spent navigating through the technicalities of the vocal warm-ups and choreography. You kept your distance, avoiding her gaze. When the group began to break for a short lunch, you tried to slip out quietly, but the sound of footsteps behind you made you pause.
“Y/N.”
Her voice was barely above a whisper. You didn’t turn around at first. You couldn’t. You knew if you did, the floodgates would open, and you didn’t have the strength for that.
“You’re still here,” she said, sounding almost like she was talking to herself. There was a bitter edge to her voice, a hint of disbelief.
You swallowed hard before finally turning to face her. “Of course, I am. I was hired for the job.”
The silence that followed was thick with unsaid things.
She fidgeted with the strap of her bag, avoiding eye contact. “We should talk,” she said, finally meeting your gaze.
Your heart ached, but you fought to keep your composure. “There’s nothing to talk about.”
“Y/N—”
“You ended it, Chaewon,” you said, your voice a little too sharp. “You left without a word, without an explanation. Do you really think there’s anything left to say?”
Her eyes softened, but the distance between you felt too vast to close with mere words. “I didn’t mean to hurt you. I thought it was the only way.”
“Why?” You asked, your voice trembling despite your best efforts. “Why did you leave? You think I’m just supposed to forget? Like none of it meant anything?”
“I thought I was protecting you,” she said quietly, her hands shaking. “You think I didn’t love you? You think it wasn’t killing me too? But I had to let you go. I couldn’t risk your career… my career. We weren’t supposed to happen.”
Your breath caught in your throat, the pain of those years pressing on your chest. “So, what? You just decided for both of us? Without saying a word?”
Chaewon took a step forward. “I thought it would be easier. For you. For me. I didn’t want to drag you into this life. I didn’t want to be the reason you couldn’t make it. I couldn’t risk losing everything I worked for. But losing you was harder.”
The vulnerability in her voice made your chest tighten. You wanted to be angry. You wanted to yell at her, to demand answers. But there was something about her eyes — the way she looked at you now, with regret, with a flicker of the girl you once knew — that broke you.
You took a step back, swallowing the knot in your throat. “I never stopped loving you, Chaewon. But you broke me. And I don’t know if I can forgive you.”
“I don’t expect you to.” Her voice was barely above a whisper, but there was an honesty there that made your heart ache. “But I’m not the same person anymore. I can’t fix everything, but I’d like to try.”
For a moment, you just stood there, staring at her. All the years that had passed, all the unsaid words and lingering feelings, hung between you like a fragile thread.
Then, you spoke softly, almost to yourself, “I’m not sure where we go from here.”
Chaewon nodded, her gaze fixed on the ground for a long moment before meeting your eyes again. “One step at a time.”
The days that followed felt like walking on a tightrope. Chaewon was still there, lingering just at the edge of your life. But there was a constant tension between the two of you that you couldn’t ignore. She seemed to want to rebuild what was lost, but every time she came close, there was something that stopped her. And something that stopped you, too.
The rehearsals grew more intense as the comeback drew closer. It was as though the work gave you both an excuse to avoid what was really happening. You’d steal glances at her when she wasn’t looking, watching how her eyes flitted around the room, but never resting on you for long. And when they did, it was always a brief moment before she turned away again.
She was keeping her distance, but it wasn’t the distance that hurt the most. It was the silence.
You remembered the way she used to hold you at night, her whispers brushing against your skin, the way she’d say your name like it was the most beautiful thing she’d ever said. The sound of her laughter, her soft touch, the way her eyes would brighten whenever you were together.
But now… she barely spoke to you. The gap between you seemed to widen each day.

But now… she barely spoke to you. The gap between you seemed to widen each day.
It was late one night, well past midnight, and the practice room was empty except for you and Chaewon. You were finishing some vocal runs for a final check before you left. The quiet buzz of the air conditioning and the distant hum of the city outside filled the empty space. But you couldn’t ignore the feeling in your chest. The way Chaewon’s presence felt more like an absence than anything else.
You stole a glance at her as she stood at the mirror, adjusting her ponytail, her back to you.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” you said quietly, your voice cutting through the silence like a blade.
She didn’t turn around immediately. Her shoulders stiffened, her hands pausing mid-motion. For a long moment, she said nothing. You watched the way she held herself together, the way her jaw clenched slightly before she finally spoke.
“I’m not avoiding you,” she replied, her voice tight. “I just… I don’t know what you want from me.”
You shook your head. “You know what I want.”
Chaewon finally turned to face you, her eyes searching yours. “No, I don’t,” she said, voice shaking. “I thought I did. I thought I understood everything, but now… now I’m just not sure anymore. I can’t keep pretending that nothing happened, Y/N.”
The air between you both felt like it was closing in, and the words you had both been avoiding were now spilling out. Chaewon’s eyes flickered with uncertainty, and you could see the cracks in her facade.
“I didn’t want to hurt you,” she continued, her voice breaking. “I thought leaving was the right choice. I thought I was doing what was best for both of us. But I was wrong, and now… now I’m lost. I don’t know how to fix this. I don’t know if I can.”
Her admission hung in the air, thick with the weight of everything unsaid. The confession she’d kept buried for so long felt like an avalanche, crashing down between you both.
You took a step back, your chest tightening, the hurt in her voice resonating deep within you. “So what, Chaewon? You think this is all just going to go away because you admit that you were wrong? That I’ll just forget everything and we can go back to the way things were? You left me without a word! I waited, and I waited, and you never came back. You didn’t even try.”
Her face crumpled at your words, a tear escaping down her cheek, but she didn’t wipe it away. She stood there, frozen. Her lips parted, but no words came out. She looked so small, so lost, like she was drowning in the mess she’d made of everything.
“I was terrified,” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “Terrified that if I stayed, I’d ruin everything for you. I thought if I left, you’d have a chance at a normal life. One where you weren’t tied to me… one where you didn’t have to watch me disappear behind the stage lights. I thought you’d be better off without me.”
A bitter laugh bubbled up from your chest, and you couldn’t stop it. “Is that what you think? That I needed to be ‘better off’ without you? Chaewon, I never wanted a ‘normal’ life without you. I wanted you. And when you left… I didn’t know how to keep going. You were everything to me.”
Her eyes widened at your words, and she took a hesitant step forward, but you stepped back. You couldn’t bear the closeness, not when it felt like she was still holding herself back.
“I thought you moved on,” you continued, your voice cracking. “You were out there, living your dream, while I… I was stuck. I couldn’t move past what we were, and now… now I don’t know if I can even look at you without remembering how you just walked away.”
The silence stretched between you both, suffocating. Chaewon was crying now, her shoulders shaking, but she didn’t wipe away the tears. She let them fall.
“I never wanted to hurt you,” she repeated, voice breaking. “I thought if I let you go, you’d be free. But now I see… I see what I’ve done. I ruined everything, Y/N. I ruined us.”
Her words hit like a slap to the face, and for a moment, everything felt like it was crashing down around you. You wanted to scream, to yell at her for the years of hurt, the time you’d wasted. But instead, you stood there, feeling empty.
“I don’t know if I can forgive you,” you whispered, looking away. “I want to. But I don’t know if I can.”
Chaewon didn’t say anything. She just stood there, broken, her tear-streaked face etched with guilt.
You turned away from her, walking toward the door. “I need time. I need to figure this out, Chaewon. I don’t know if I can do this again.”
Before you left the room, you paused, the final words heavy in the air.
“And maybe we never should’ve happened in the first place.”
You could feel her eyes on your back as you walked toward the door, but you couldn’t bring yourself to turn around. Your heart was pounding in your chest, each step feeling heavier than the last.
When you finally reached the door, you hesitated. The words you’d just spoken echoed in your mind, and you felt a lump form in your throat. But you couldn’t take them back now.
You stepped out into the hallway and leaned against the cold wall, trying to calm the rapid beating of your heart. You hated how much it still hurt. You hated how much of yourself you had left behind when you walked away. And, deep down, you hated that you weren’t sure if you’d ever be able to forgive her.
The door creaked open, and you didn’t have to turn around to know she was standing there, just behind you. You could feel her presence, the weight of her gaze on your back. But you didn’t turn. You couldn’t.
“Y/N…” Chaewon’s voice was trembling, quiet, like she wasn’t sure if you would even listen. “I know you need space. I know I don’t deserve anything from you right now. But please… just let me try. I’ll do whatever it takes to make it right. I can’t lose you. I won’t.”
You clenched your fists, fighting the urge to turn and look at her. But you didn’t. You couldn’t. The pain was too much, the rawness of the betrayal too fresh.
“I don’t know if I can believe you anymore,” you said, your voice thick with emotion. “You told me you loved me, Chaewon. You promised you wouldn’t leave me. And then… you just left. Without a word. You gave up on us. On me.”
She took a shaky step forward, her voice cracking with desperation. “I didn’t give up on you. I didn’t give up on us. I was selfish. I thought I was protecting you. But I see now… I see now that I only made it worse. I ruined everything, Y/N.”
The tears that had been building up finally escaped, and you wiped them away angrily, hating the weakness. “You didn’t even give me a choice. You didn’t even give me a chance to fight for us. You just… walked away, and I was left wondering what happened. Why.”
“I was scared,” Chaewon whispered. “Scared of how much I loved you. How much I needed you. I thought if I stayed, I’d drag you into this world of chaos. I thought I’d ruin everything for you. But the truth is, I’ve ruined us already.”
Her words hit you like a hammer to the chest, but still, you couldn’t turn to face her. You couldn’t let her see how much you were still hurting.
“I don’t know how to forgive you,” you said quietly, choking on the words. “I don’t know if I can ever forget the way you left me, Chaewon. It’s too much.”
There was a long silence between you both. You could feel the weight of her gaze, the weight of the apology hanging in the air. But the distance between you, both emotionally and physically, felt like an insurmountable wall.
“I know,” she said finally, her voice raw and broken. “I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I don’t deserve anything from you. But I love you, Y/N. I’ve always loved you. And I’ll spend every day trying to prove to you that I can be the person you need me to be. The person I should have been from the beginning.”
The words felt like a knife twisting in your chest. She was so close, yet so far away. You wanted to believe her, wanted to let go of the pain and just embrace the girl you once loved, but the hurt was too deep. The betrayal was too fresh.
“I can’t do this right now,” you said, your voice trembling. “I need time. I need to figure out if I even want this anymore.”
Chaewon let out a shaky breath. “I understand. I’ll give you time. But please, don’t close me out. Don’t close us out completely. Please, just give me a chance.”
Her voice was pleading now, but you couldn’t give her the reassurance she wanted. Not yet. Not when your heart felt so torn, when the anger and sadness were still too raw.
You turned toward the door, but before you could leave, she spoke again, her voice quieter now.
“I’ll wait for you, Y/N. I’ll wait as long as it takes.”
You didn’t respond. You just walked out of the practice room, the sound of the door closing behind you ringing like a final note in a song you couldn’t quite finish.
_____
The next few days passed in a blur. You kept your distance, avoiding her whenever possible. Rehearsals felt colder, emptier without Chaewon’s presence beside you. The silence between you both was suffocating, and it was starting to drive you mad.
It wasn’t that you didn’t want to talk to her, or that you didn’t still care. The truth was, you cared more than you had ever let yourself admit. But the pain — the betrayal — still lingered in your chest like a wound that had never fully healed.
You spent nights lying awake, staring at the ceiling, wondering if she was out there somewhere doing the same. Wondering if she was hurting the way you were. If she was waiting.
One evening, as the end of another rehearsal approached, you found yourself walking toward the rooftop — a place you and Chaewon had often gone to escape, to talk, to just be.
When you reached the door, you froze. Chaewon was already there, sitting against the railing, looking out over the city.
You didn’t say anything at first. You just stood there, watching her in the dimming light.
“Why did you come here?” you asked, your voice soft.
She turned to look at you, her eyes still red from crying, but there was something softer about her expression now. “I didn’t want to leave things the way we left them. I can’t just… walk away anymore. I need you to know how sorry I am. How much I love you.”
You took a step closer, the space between you both still uncomfortable. “Chaewon…”
“I won’t beg you,” she said, voice trembling. “But I will wait. I will wait for as long as it takes, because I need you, Y/N. I need you in my life. I don’t care how long it takes to rebuild, I’ll do whatever it takes.”
You stared at her for a long moment, your heart in turmoil. You could feel the weight of the past pressing down on you, but her words — raw and honest — were pulling at you in a way that nothing else had.
“I don’t know if I can ever forgive you,” you whispered, feeling the tear that finally slipped down your cheek. “But I’m not ready to let go either.”
Chaewon’s face softened, and she stepped closer, closing the distance between you. Her hand reached for yours, but you hesitated before you let her touch you. She squeezed your hand gently, and you felt her warmth. The warmth you had once missed so much.
“We’ll figure this out,” she whispered. “Together.”
And for the first time in weeks, you allowed yourself to believe it.
The days after that moment on the rooftop were a delicate balancing act. Chaewon respected your space, but she didn’t pull away entirely. Instead, she made small gestures, quiet efforts to show that she was still there — that she hadn’t given up, even if she didn’t know how to fix what had been broken.
It was like walking a razor’s edge, trying not to lean too much into what had been, and at the same time, not wanting to forget the possibility of what could be.
Every time you saw Chaewon, you felt your heart waver. There were moments when you thought you saw the old Chaewon in her eyes — the girl who had once held you close, laughed with you, loved you. But then you’d remember everything she’d done, everything she’d said when she walked away. And you’d feel the cold rush in again.
But still, the space between you both was shrinking, even if it was slow. She was careful with you. And you, despite the anger, despite the hurt, were still careful with her, too.
_____
One evening, a week after that conversation on the rooftop, you found yourself alone in the practice room after everyone else had left. You’d spent the whole day avoiding Chaewon, not because you wanted to, but because you weren’t sure how to be with her anymore.
The room felt too quiet without the usual chatter of your group. The silence pressed in on you, heavy and full of unspoken words. You were packing up your things, mindlessly moving from one task to the next, when you heard the door creak open.
You didn’t have to turn to know who it was.
“Y/N,” Chaewon’s voice was soft, but there was an urgency behind it that made your heart flutter against your ribcage. “Can we talk?”
You set the papers down, your hands shaking slightly, but you didn’t look at her yet. You couldn’t.
“About what?” you asked, your voice strained, trying to keep the distance between you. “We’ve talked enough, haven’t we?”
There was a long pause, a heavy silence before she spoke again. “No. I don’t think we have.”
You turned, slowly, your eyes meeting hers. The sight of her hit you harder than you expected. She was standing there, her hands clenched into fists at her sides, her eyes wide with something — something desperate and vulnerable.
“Y/N, I… I’ve been thinking. A lot. About everything. About what I said, about what I did.” Her voice faltered, and for a moment, she looked like the girl you once knew. “I didn’t just hurt you, I hurt me too. I didn’t just leave you. I left a part of myself when I walked away.”
You stayed quiet, the words she’d just spoken digging deep into your chest. You’d always wanted her to feel the weight of her actions, to realize what she’d done to you. But hearing her admit it — hearing her voice crack with emotion — made something in you break.
She took a step forward, but you instinctively took a step back, your eyes lowering to the floor. You hated the way you were still torn between anger and the love that refused to die.
“I know you don’t trust me,” she said quietly, taking another step, her voice barely above a whisper. “And I understand that. But I want you to know that I will do whatever it takes. If it takes a lifetime to make it up to you, I’ll do it. I just need you to see that I’m not the same person I was when I left.”
Your heart twisted. You knew she was sincere — there was no doubt in her voice. But the hurt, the betrayal, was still so fresh in your mind. You weren’t sure if you could ever let go of the pain, if you could ever forgive her for walking out on you when you needed her the most.
“How do I know you’re not going to leave again?” You said the words before you could stop yourself. You looked up at her then, your eyes searching her face for any sign of what she might say.
Chaewon’s breath caught in her throat, and she closed the distance between you with one final, deliberate step. She reached for your hand, but this time, you didn’t pull away. You let her hold it.
“Because I’m here now,” she said, her voice steady but full of raw emotion. “Because I’ve never wanted anything more than to be here with you. And if I lose you… I’ll lose myself, too. I won’t do that. I won’t walk away again.”
You looked at her, your heart pounding, and the vulnerability in her eyes pierced you like a thousand needles. You saw her. You saw the weight she was carrying, the remorse, the regret. You knew she meant it — that she would never make the same mistake again. But that didn’t change the past. That didn’t change the girl who had disappeared from your life without a trace.
“I don’t know how to trust you anymore, Chaewon,” you whispered, barely able to get the words out. “I want to. But I don’t know how.”
Her hand tightened around yours, and her face crumpled in anguish. “I know I don’t deserve your trust. But I swear to you, I’ll earn it back. I’ll show you every day that I’m not going anywhere. Please, Y/N… give me a chance. Please.”
You closed your eyes, your mind a whirlwind of emotions. You wanted to believe her, wanted to reach out and pull her into your arms and make everything right again. But the fear, the doubt, still lingered, like a shadow you couldn’t outrun.
But then, something shifted. Maybe it was the way she was looking at you, the way her voice wavered with the rawness of her words. Maybe it was because, deep down, you knew that you still loved her — more than you had ever loved anyone.
“One more chance,” you whispered, your voice shaking. “But if you hurt me again…”
“I won’t,” Chaewon interrupted, her voice firm now, though her eyes were still glassy with emotion. “I promise, I won’t.”
You looked at her, the weight of everything between you still heavy but no longer impossible. You still didn’t know if you could trust her fully, but this — this was a step. A step toward healing, toward letting go of the past.
You took a deep breath, letting the warmth of her hand anchor you.
“Okay,” you said softly, and this time, when you reached for her, it was with the hope that maybe — just maybe — you could both find your way back to something beautiful.
You’d told yourself you would be okay. That you could move forward. But some nights, when the world was quieter, the doubts crept back in. What if you were making a mistake? What if Chaewon wasn’t ready for what you needed? What if you were setting yourself up for more heartbreak?
A soft voice broke through the chaos of your thoughts. “You’re still thinking about everything, aren’t you?”
You turned to find Chaewon standing behind you, her eyes warm and filled with a mixture of understanding and uncertainty. She had this way of knowing exactly when you were holding something inside, even when you tried to hide it.
“I can’t help it,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper. “There’s just so much… so much to figure out.”
She took a step toward you, standing beside you at the railing. You didn’t say anything for a long moment, just watching the city below. The two of you were silent, but it wasn’t the painful kind of silence. It was just… comfortable.
“Can I ask you something?” Chaewon said after a long pause, her voice quiet but full of hope.
You nodded, not trusting yourself to speak.
“Do you think we can ever really go back to the way things were?” Her voice cracked slightly, as if the question itself hurt her more than she wanted to admit.
You felt a lump form in your throat. You wanted to say something reassuring, something that would make it all okay, but the truth was, you didn’t know. You didn’t know if you could ever fully let go of the pain, of the betrayal. You didn’t know if you could forget how she had walked away without even looking back.
“I don’t know,” you said honestly, your voice breaking slightly. “I don’t know if we can ever go back. But… I want to try. I want to figure this out, Chaewon. I don’t know what that looks like, but I don’t want to lose you again.”
The vulnerability in your words seemed to break something inside of her, and for the first time in a long while, she stepped closer, closing the distance between you. Her hand reached for yours, and for a moment, you hesitated, but then you let her take it.
“I don’t want to lose you either,” Chaewon whispered, her voice thick with emotion. “I don’t want to keep hurting you. But I need you to know that I’ll keep trying. I’ll do whatever it takes to make things right, even if it takes forever. I’m not going anywhere, Y/N.”
You closed your eyes, the words she spoke settling deep in your chest. She had hurt you. There was no denying that. But standing here now, with her hand in yours, you could feel the weight of her sincerity — the depth of her regret, and the strength of her desire to make things right.
You weren’t sure if you could forgive her yet. You weren’t sure if you could ever forget what had happened. But for the first time in a long while, you felt the smallest sliver of hope — the hope that maybe, just maybe, you could rebuild what had been broken.
You opened your eyes to look at her, and for a moment, there was no one else in the world. Just the two of you.
“Okay,” you said, your voice a little steadier now. “I’ll give you that chance. We’ll figure this out together.”
Her face softened, and she took a small step closer. “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I never meant to hurt you. I just… I didn’t know what else to do. I was scared. But now, I’ll spend every day trying to make it up to you.”
You squeezed her hand gently. “I don’t need you to make it up to me, Chaewon. I just need you to be here. To be real. To be present. That’s all.”
She nodded, her eyes glistening with a mixture of relief and exhaustion. “I can do that.”
And for the first time in what felt like forever, you felt like maybe you weren’t so broken after all. Maybe, with time, things could heal. Maybe you could find a way to move forward together.
_____
Over the next few weeks, things between you and Chaewon began to settle into a new rhythm. It wasn’t perfect, but it was real. You began to rebuild, piece by piece, what had been lost.
There were moments when the past would resurface — moments when the hurt and betrayal would threaten to tear you apart again. But every time that happened, you would both talk it through. Slowly but surely, you learned to trust each other again. It wasn’t easy, and there were times when you both stumbled, but it was in those moments that you realized how much you wanted to make it work.
Chaewon was patient, her love unwavering. And in turn, you found yourself allowing her back into your heart, piece by piece.
And one night you’d caught her alone, in the practice room
The trainees had all left, and the studio was empty except for you and Chaewon. You were wrapping up some final vocal exercises when you noticed her standing off to the side, watching you with that quiet intensity.
“Are you staying late again?” You asked, trying to keep the conversation casual.
She shrugged, though there was something almost nostalgic in her eyes. “I never really left.”
There was something about the way she said it — as if it was a reminder of those late nights you used to spend together when she was still a trainee. You both worked through the hours, the world outside fading into the background.
Chaewon lingered in the studio as you finished packing up, and as you turned to leave, you saw her looking at you again.
“Y/N,” she called, her voice softer now, not laced with fear, but with something else — something tentative.
You paused, your heart beating faster than you’d care to admit. “Yeah?”
“I know I can’t undo the past, but I’m here now. If you want me here.”
Her words hung in the air between you, and for a brief moment, everything felt suspended in time. The weight of her confession, of the years spent apart, felt too heavy to carry alone. But this time, it was different. This time, you weren’t walking away.
Without thinking, you crossed the room and stood in front of her, your heart racing in your chest. Chaewon looked up at you, eyes wide with hesitation — as if waiting for something, for you to make a decision.
“I’m not sure where we go from here,” you said, your voice quieter now, “but I don’t want to walk away either.”
Her breath hitched, and before you knew it, she stepped closer, slowly, cautiously. “Can we take it slow?”
You smiled softly, the last of the old tension between you beginning to dissolve. “Yeah. Slow sounds good.”
And when she reached out, tentatively brushing her hand against yours, it felt like the world was finally starting to right itself again.
Days turned into weeks, and the walls between you began to crumble. There were no grand confessions — no explosive moments. Just little things. Quiet conversations between rehearsals. Shared glances. Laughter that felt more like breathing than anything else.
You’d find yourself lingering in the practice room after hours, both of you too tired to leave but too eager to stay in each other’s presence. There was an ease now that hadn’t been there before, a comfort you hadn’t realized was missing until it was there again.
Then one night, after a long rehearsal, when the air was cool and the city lights flickered in the distance, Chaewon pulled you aside.
“I’ve never been good with words,” she said softly, the moonlight catching the gentle curve of her face. “But I’m trying to show you with my actions… that I’m not the same person who walked away from you. And I never want to lose you again.”
You stood there, your heart warm despite the cool night air. There was no need for grand gestures, no need for anything other than the quiet honesty in her voice.
“Chaewon,” you said, finally letting the words out, “you never really lost me.”
And when she kissed you then, it wasn’t a hurried thing. It was slow, tentative, but there was something so tender about it that it felt like you were both finally letting go of everything that had held you back. Finally letting yourself have the love you’d both been waiting for.
_____
Slowly, but surely, you and Chaewon found your way back to each other. Not perfectly, not without scars, but together. The cracks that had once torn you apart were still there, but you no longer saw them as marks of defeat — you saw them as proof of your resilience.
You’d learned how to talk openly, to be vulnerable in ways you hadn’t before. You learned to trust again, even when the past would sometimes come back to haunt you. It was difficult, yes, but each day felt like a small victory, and each laugh, each touch, was a reminder that love, though fragile, could heal even the deepest wounds.
One evening, as the moonlight filtered through the dorm room window, you and Chaewon sat side by side on the balcony, the city lights below twinkling like stars in the distance.
Chaewon broke the silence, her voice soft, almost hesitant. “Do you remember the first time we sat out here like this?”
You smiled, looking up at the stars. “How could I forget? You insisted we come out here to watch the city lights even though it was freezing.”
Chaewon chuckled, her hand brushing against yours. “I remember you complaining the whole time, but secretly enjoying it.”
“I was not complaining,” you teased, nudging her shoulder lightly.
“Mm, I remember it differently,” she grinned, her eyes sparkling in the dim light.
You both fell into a comfortable silence, the cool night air gentle around you. It was a peace you hadn’t known in a long time, and the world felt a little smaller, a little kinder. For the first time, you realized that you weren’t just healing. You were growing — together.
“You know,” Chaewon said softly, her fingers brushing yours once more, “I never thought I’d get a second chance. And I don’t ever want to take it for granted.”
You turned to face her, your heart swelling with an emotion you couldn’t quite name. It wasn’t just love anymore. It was something deeper, something more secure. “We’re still figuring things out, Chaewon. But I’m glad we’re doing it together.”
She nodded, her expression softening as she reached up to gently tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. “We don’t have to have it all figured out right now. I think the important thing is that we’re trying. We’re not giving up.”
You smiled, feeling the warmth of her hand on your cheek, a warmth that felt like home.
“I don’t want to give up,” you whispered, your voice steady and sure. “Not on you. Not on us.”
Her eyes softened, and she leaned in slowly, as if giving you the space to decide. When you didn’t pull away, her lips met yours in a kiss that felt like a promise — a promise of more days like this, of laughter and quiet moments, of love that would grow, even when the world around you felt uncertain.
The kiss deepened, slow and tender, and for that moment, all the hurt, all the fear, and all the doubts melted away. It was just the two of you, and everything else felt like it could wait.
When you finally pulled away, breathless and with hearts full, Chaewon rested her forehead against yours.
“I love you,” she whispered, her voice full of everything she had said, everything she had shown you, and everything she had yet to say. “I’m never going to stop.”
And for the first time in what felt like forever, you realized you truly believed her.
“I love you too,” you replied, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips.
And in that moment, you both knew that no matter what life threw your way, no matter how many obstacles stood in front of you, you would always find a way back to each other.
Together.

RE:V lords and Mother Miranda with a ghoul reader
Alcina Dimitrescu
There was always something off about you.
You never seemed to tire after long hours of work at her castle, you never shied away from cleaning duty in the dungeon like the others and most importantly you seemed to never bleed.
As a vampire that was one of the first things she noticed about you but never thought to bring it up.
She noticed your lack of heartbeat and lack of smell that usually came with the maids.
Normally she would just leave it alone because you did your job well and did tasks that nobody else wanted to do.
One night when everything was winding down for the evening, she heard the sound of a window breaking.
Usually she would summon her daughters to deal with the intruder but due to it being a colder winter she opted to do it herself.
When she got down to the kitchen she was surprised to see that the intruder’s chest had caved in and his cheeks were sunken. It was like all the air was sucked out of him and he was left as a husk.
She was even more surprised to see you there with an expression similar to a child who got caught stealing cookies.
You had small almost see through horns poking out from your hair. Your skin had turned to a pale grey and you had claws.
“Well, this is a surprise turn of events but not an unexpected one.”
You two had a long chat about what exactly you were.
You explained that you were an air ghoul and escaped from hell to enjoy life on the mortal side of the earth.
She asked if you were happy with serving her and you said yes. After all you got fed human food, were surrounded by humans and got to be in the presence of other unearthly creatures.
You also said that you sucked the air from the intruder because he scared you when you were trying to get a midnight snack.
She sighs and realised that you may be just as much of a handful as her daughters
Karl Heisenberg
Heisenberg smelled smoke when he entered the factory. It wasn’t an uncommon smell but he smelled it more that usual.
When he found you sitting with some of his creations with your arm on fire and marshmallows dangling above the flame he does a double take.
“What. The. Fuck???”
He is so confused.
From what he knew you were just a normal human and yet you were roasting marshmallows off of a flame that covered your entire arm.
You wave at him before tossing a roasted marshmallow at his head.
He catches it and eats it
He shoes away his creations before sitting on a crate in front of you with a bewildered expression.
He asks for an explanation and you tell him your a fire ghoul but just wanna chill up on earth for a bit.
Bewilderment is replaced with excitement.
You bet he wants to figure out a way to combine his powers and yours for an ultimate power up.
Heisenberg is a man of many talents and one of those talents is causing mayhem against Mother Miranda.
“Just think: flaming metal! It would be great!”
You go along with it because of course! This man wants to cause chaos and what else are you supposed to do up on the surface?
Donna Beneviento
Angie had finally convinced Donna to hire a new gardener.
After the last gardener died she was hesitant to allow anyone else close to her again but the plants were growing too much and she could barely keep up.
You had been on the earth for a few months now and decided that staying close to your element would be the best plan so seeing that add for a gardener was a blessing.
When you first met Donna and Angie you were taken to their uniqueness and enjoyed working for the two.
Angie was seen around you more than Donna but that didn’t mean you couldn’t sense her.
She walked on the very ground that you started to tame and once the earth around her mansion was yours, nobody could sneak up on you.
Donna truely figured out something was different about you when you purposely stepped out of Donna’s way when she was supposed to be invisible to your eyes.
Donna kept a closer eye on you through her dolls. Often gifting you one in return for your hard work.
Through the eyes of her dolls was when she first saw you.
Your green skin and brown ram-like horns that curled around your face. The way that the ground moulded and changed to your will was terrifying and interesting to Donna.
She hesitantly started to show herself to your non-green and horned form whenever you would tend to the garden in front of her house.
The conversations would be pretty one sided but as time went on Donna spoke more and more to you, eventually asking about the green skin and horns.
You confess that you’re not human and in fact an earth ghoul that just wanted to become more in touch with your element.
Donna couldn’t help but feel better that your reasoning was so pure.
She offered for you to stay in your natural form if it was more comfortable for you and reassured you than nobody would see you like that if you didn’t want them to.
You felt comforted by Donna’s presence and openness about your natural appearance and you only hopped she felt the same when she showed you her scar.
Angie loved to sit on your shoulders and hold onto your horns, always saying how she could ride the mighty ram into battle.
Salvatore Moreau
It starts small when he notices that someone else is in his waters.
He and his fish are usually the only thing that swim in the village since the villagers are too scared to.
When he spots blue skin in murky green water he gets excited at the idea of a new friend.
Spotting the blue skinned creature was easier than catching you because you were much smaller than he was.
You didn’t have a tail like he did but you could see much clearly under water and evade his capture.
It wasn’t like he wanted to hurt you, he just wanted to meet you and meet someone else who has an affinity for water.
Slowly but surely he was able to coax you out of your hiding spot and onto the shore. He was curious on how someone that looked human could crept for the blue skin and small silver horns, found it’s way into his territory.
You explained that you wanted to see the ocean but only got this far and that you were at water ghoul.
He excitedly told you that there were other lakes around the village that he could take you to.
When you confessed that you only liked his lake because there weren’t any people except for him and his fish he tried to make the water as enjoyable as possible for you.
Mother Miranda
Since you first came to the village she knew you weren’t human. You looked human and ate human food but there was just a strange aura around you.
You weren’t disturbing any of her plans or experiments so she left you alone for the time being.
When you sat on top of her chapel just to get a better look at the stars, she confronted you.
She landed beside you and asked not so calmly why you were on her chapel.
You explained that you leaned no harm and just wanted to see the stars better. After all the village didn’t have the best views.
You were much more calm than anyone else.
Mother Miranda just sighed and offered to show you better spots to see the stars that weren’t on her roof.
She showed you a few places and even varied you to the top of Lady Dimitrescu’s castle because what could Alcina do? It wasn’t like she was going to say no to Miranda.
It became a little tradition for Miranda to meet you at night and watch the night sky with you.
When you confessed to being not human she said she already knew but didn’t know what you were.
You said you were a quintessence ghoul and simply wanted to see the sky.
She was impressed to see a ghoul out in the real world and asked if you could help her with her experiments.
Since you had a lot of free time in the day you agreed.

GUYS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there’s a summary at the end btw
what if and hear me out here… Ruby is timid because @teethwitheyes101-blog was right about their head cannon and people look down on her for having the “weak fire” coloring? and so hear me out on this next one BUT. (scroll past the next picture)
Tumblr media
tourmaline has one of the stronger fire colors in scale indications that teeth with eyes has supplied us with, so that’s why she was the stronger daughter who was hold and brave, because also scarlet has the scale colors right in the middle of ruby and tourmaline, btw !!SPOILERS FOR ESCAPING PERIL!!, so closer to the end of the book when it’s discovered that Ruby is actually tourmaline with a spell over her earring maybe just maybe it was so that way none of Scarlets kids would be brave enough to challenge her? because if tourmaline had stronger fire than Scarlet, Scarlet would be aware of the fact tourmaline would have much more strength than Scarlet did, so she killed the original Ruby and then the spell on the earring made “Ruby” believe she had never been any other dragon but Ruby, that way Scarlet did not have to die from her stronger daughter before she got the chance to be queen for the rest of her life and “Ruby” thought she was too weak to challenge her mom, so she lived obediently, then we break into the point when scarlet and “Ruby” are about to fight over who gets to be queen “Ruby” isn’t willing to do assuming she would never win, but as SOON as she gets to be Tourmaline again she’s confident in her strength and beats Scarlet resulting in the evil queens death, just think about it! Scarlet had an animus at the time when she had that earring made and she had two daughters one of which could have very well been able to kill her! and scarlet had already shown a willing to kill her kids, so with her last two kids what if she was so power hungry that she decided to off her weakest of the two then make the strong one believe she was weak rather than just having someone kill Tourmaline for her? also clearly Scarlet has a way powerful ego so she most likely would literally never been willing to hire an assassin rather than do the dirty work herself! also! she would want to kill her much stronger daughter while making a spectacle of it, she would want everyone to see it, but she couldn’t do that if she had a definite disadvantage! so as a summary, scarlet totally killed the real ruby because she was weak, made tourmaline (who is much stronger fire) believe that she WAS ruby for her whole life so that scarlet could be queen even longer!
this is long and possibly a yap sesh BUT i was looking for cool WOF aus to read through and teeth with eyes’ art came up making me think of the leaked pictures of the escaping peril graphic novel and how Ruby is darker in color than everyone imagined which gave me this whole thing that ive typed out :3 tbh i was originally looking for motivation to write my own AU but then this happened 😅 but this is so much more fun bro
apologies for the yapping but no one irl that i know likes wof like i do so you guys get to suffer my ideas 😭
also thank you teethwitheyes101! I didn’t want to tag you multiple times in one post but i did tag you because i do not want to look like i’m trying to steal art, and i did my best to crop the picture with your user, i hope you aren’t upset at me for putting your art in my post, if you are lmk!!

hi bug!! for blurbcember, how about ❝ don’t tell anyone, but, i spiked the eggnog. ❞ where shy!reader is by herself at a work holiday party, maybe she’s new or just really shy and doesn’t talk to many people, and steve/eddie goes up to her and jokes about spiking the eggnog to break the ice and flirt with her bc he has a crush on her and wants to make her laugh 🥹 totally not based on what i wish would happen to me at my work’s holiday party lmao
ah this is so cute! :D i decided to do this one for steve so i hope you like it!! — steve harrington spends the company holiday party flirting with shy!you (friends to lovers, shy!reader, fluff, 1.9k)
blurbcember ˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚
The quiet mouse and the personality hire walk into an office holiday party.
It’s like the start of a really bad joke.
You try to be as enthusiastic as you can about the whole thing, but spending the last half of your day socializing with coworkers who've never looked your way before now isn’t exactly thrill-inducing. Neither is having to hear “Oh, I didn’t know you actually spoke” a thousand times over.
You just don’t want the lecture about being a team player just because you have a harder time talking than most people do. Everyone knows you’d rather be at your desk, anyway. That’s what you do best — keep your head down and get your work done.
But Steve Harrington? He’s totally in his element.
He flits around the common area with a drink and a smile, making people laugh without even trying. It’s hardly fair.
You don’t know how he does it — or why he chooses to waste his charm on you. You’re hardly deserving of his dumb jokes or his pretty smile, but he’s stuck to you like glue, anyway.
He leaves your side only once. To get you another cup of eggnog because you were too scared to cut through the crowd for seconds. “Here you go,” the pretty boy croons as he hands you the plastic cup with a strong, golden hand.
You mutter a small “thanks” under your breath when you take it from him. At least, Steve thinks you do. You’re so quiet it’s hard to make the words out sometimes.
He pushes his sweater sleeves up to his elbows — a deep evergreen with a cream stripe around the chest, lined with several little Christmas trees — and leans against the wall beside you.
He towers over you in every way imaginable. It makes it hurt not to cower when he looks your way. Most of all, when he beams at you.
“Can I tell you a secret?” he asks suddenly, nose scrunched and honey eyes sparkling.
Your brows pinch momentarily in confusion before going lax again. “Sure?”
He leans closer to you, his warm scent engulfing you instantly — like morning coffee and woodsy cologne. It’s suffocating, in the nicest of ways, to be this close to him.
“Don’t tell anyone, but I did actually spike the eggnog,” Steve whispers beneath the cheesy holiday music and distant chatter, quiet enough for only you to hear.
You laugh before you mean to.
He laughs because you are.
“I actually wouldn’t mind that,” you joke with a shy shrug.
“It’d make this whole thing a lot more tolerable, right?” he scoffs and brings his cup to his mouth. The heavy cream of the eggnog clings to his cupid’s bow before he licks it clean again.
You get quiet for a second, momentarily lost in how pretty he is. “Yeah. Definitely.”
“I think you’re the only person I know that’d rather be working than be here.”
“Well, I’m not really a—” Your mouth opens and closes like a fish until you find the words to say. That happens a lot. It’s why you find it easier not to speak sometimes. “—A social butterfly or whatever, you know?”
“I thought you were gonna say people-person.”
“That, too.”
Steve thinks for a moment, flits his eyes to the ceiling, and juts out his pretty pink lips. He crosses his arms over his chest and shrugs. “Well, I don’t think that’s totally true.”
Your brows furrow. Maybe he doesn’t know you as well as you thought. “No?”
“No,” he says confidently and with a shake of his neatly styled hair. He swipes his fingers through the intentionally messy strands. Then he shrugs. “Well, I mean, maybe. But I would say you are a Steve-person, you know?”
Your face screws up. His attempts to flirt with you don’t land.
He quickly tries to explain himself. “I just mean that— you know— that you don’t let everyone know you the way you let me know you.”
He gets all shy about it, but you think he might be right.
Steve Harrington is more than just magnetic. He’s the kind of person that draws you in and opens you like a flower. An ounce of his attention feels like being basked in sunlight. He’s as handsome as life, too. Something holy, maybe.
It’s his divinity that draws something out of you, you think.
“Well, that’s ‘cause you’re different from everyone else,” you shrug instead of elaborating on the dramatic religious metaphor in your head. Your gaze falls to the untouched cup between your palms. It’s easier to look at but much less interesting than the melting honey in Steve’s eyes.
He grins all sweet even though you’re not looking at him to see it.
“You mean prettier?” he jokes.
“Yeah,” you scoff and smile before you realize it. “No one’s competing with those dimples, Harrington.”
He beams. It basks you in golden sunlight.
Something about the way he looks at you is comforting. Nostalgic. It makes you feel safe. Makes you feel brave enough to raise a trembling hand to his scruffy jaw and poke gently at the dimple in his left cheek.
“You just make it easier to talk. I guess.”
“Well, that’s good. ‘Cause I love hearing you talk.”
You squint playfully up at him. “Is that because you’re usually the one talking all the time?”
He nods. “That’s exactly why.”
You laugh, and it sounds like stars falling over his skin.
“It just feels easy to me, you know? Being around you and everything,” Steve shrugs to pretend like you don’t stir something sort of poetry in his chest. “I just think you’re cool. Exactly the way you are. And, you know, when you apologize for being too quiet or too complicated or whatever— it makes me wanna kick the world’s ass for making you feel that way. ‘Cause you’re, like, one of the best people I’ve ever met.”
For a second or more, you’re not totally sure what to say. And not in the way you usually are. This is different. This feels like there’s sunshine in your throat, and you can’t speak a word through it. This feels like being so choked up you could cry.
No one’s ever been this nice to you, you think. No one’s ever been so kind to you about the thing you hate most about yourself.
You swallow through the sun rays and muster a wavering smile.
“See what I mean?” You try to laugh, but the words get caught in your throat. You cough once to clear it. “I have to talk to you because no one else will say such nice things to me.”
“And that’s just a shame. ‘Cause saying nice things to you is basically my favorite hobby.”
You laugh again, even though he’s not really joking.
“Like, if I could get paid to do it, I’d be out of this shithole in a second.”
You smile up at him, so wide it makes your eyes squint and your nose scrunch. No one else could stir such a loud emotion from the quiet you are. No one else but Steve.

Violet never liked when she had to let go of staff, but sometimes it just had to be done. Anthony was tremendously busy (with his impending wedding to the elder Miss Sharma) and so in the end, the responsibility fell on Violet.
She had to say although the whole ordeal was rather unpleasant, she somehow seemed to be graced with an easy decision when it came to filling the position of gardener.
Violet would admit she was a little surprised by how it all played out. First, she wasn’t expecting a woman to come and speak with her about the job, but every single quality she was looking for in an applicant was met. She didn’t waste her time in making a decision and decided to hire on the spot.
She found herself more willing to go out into the garden, to explore while work was being done, unafraid to get in the way or be curious because she never felt like she was imposing. She did know it was technically her family’s home, but there was something about watching someone while they worked that just seemed rather intrusive and she usually avoided it.
“Lady Bridgerton,” your voice pulled her out of her thoughts and she looked up at you with a smile. “I just started pruning and was going to come and ask you a question about how you wanted the bushes. You seem to have saved me some leg work.”
“I’m much obliged, miss. How can I be of assistance?” she asked, coming closer to you and the bush of flowers you were working on.
“I was thinking perhaps to pick a few peonies to put inside the house in vases and then trim down the size a bit so it isn’t overtaking the garden quite so much, what are your thoughts?”
Violet pressed her lips together and gazed at the bush for a moment. The peonies did seem to be in such a bloom, reaching out on every side almost running completely wild. She supposed that was part of the reason she got a new gardener in the first place.
“Trim it,” she nodded. “They do seem like they need to be…controlled.”
You chuckled a little and clipped one of the flowers, handing it to her.
“If I may, my Lady, I don’t think controlled is quite the right word,” you said. “Moreso…guided, manicured, taken care of.”
Violet smiled at what you said, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips, “Yes, quite right,” she nodded. “Thank you.”
“Of course, my Lady. Your company is always welcome.”
She pressed her lips together and wished you a good day before continuing to walk through the gardens.
As the day passed, Violet found herself carrying the peony you had given her to everything she did around the house, playing with the stem, feeling the petals between her fingers until in the evening she sat in her chambers, alone and dressed for bed the flower sitting on her vanity staring back at her.
After staring at it for what seemed like hours she finally picked it up and brought it to her nose, inhaling its scent and perfume, closing her eyes and just letting her mind wander along with the intoxicating scent, feeling a warmth grow in her core, causing her breath to hitch and for her to abruptly open her eyes.
She took in a couple of shakier breaths, placing the flower back down on the vanity and standing up, turning away from it, unable to justify her own thoughts in her head.
She moved to the pitcher of water that sat next to a bowl and poured some of it inside, gently splashing her face with the water, before resting her hands on the table and leaning over the bowl, letting small droplets drip from her nose and chin back into the bowl.
A pressure began to build up in her chest and all of a sudden she was taking deeper, more laboured breaths until she grabbed the towel and wiped her face clean with a certain roughness and frustration before letting her arms drop to her side while her back leaned against the table.
She looked over again at the peony and licked her lips, her hand moving to her chest, rubbing back and forth to try and rid herself of some of this ache, or rather distract from it.
It wasn’t much use, so instead she closed her eyes and took in a deep, shaky breath, discarding the towel on the table and moving towards her bed, slipping underneath the covers and begging for sleep to wash over her.
“Mama, when are we going to join Anthony and Kate at Aubrey Hall?” Hyacinth asked one morning over breakfast.
“Soon, dearest,” she assured her youngest daughter. “Lady Danbury will be joining us there, I just have a few more things I have to arrange for before we can leave.”
“I do not want to go to the country,” Gregory pouted. “We’ve been there three times already this year.”
“The country air will do us all some good,” Violet told her children. “We will go spend time with your brother and his wife as a family and we will all enjoy it. Understood?” she gave Gregory one of her looks that wasn’t so much threatening as it was lovingly stern.
“Yes mama,” Gregory nodded and looked back at his food with a sigh making his other siblings chuckle.
Violet finished up her breakfast and excused herself from the table, going to take care of things with the staff who would be left at the house in their absence and going out for an appointment with the modiste, unable to do her own alterations at the same time as her daughters.
When she returned she had one thing on her list to complete before finalizing all of the packing to be ready to leave tomorrow.
She made her way to the garden and saw you diligently working away at pulling some weeds from the soil around the rose bushes and while she was busy admiring your work, you caught her gaze and welcomed her with a smile on your face.
“Lady Bridgerton,” you stood up and bowed your head, removing your working gloves and tossing them to the side. “Is there something I can help you with?”
“Yes actually there is,” she nodded. “As you know the family and I are going to join Anthony at Aubrey Hall tomorrow and I was wondering if you might join us to help tend to the gardens there.”
You looked a little surprised at her proposition, but nodded your head.
“I would love to, my Lady, but may I ask a question?”
“Of course,” she pressed you to go on.
“I thought there was a gardener who took care of Aubrey Hall, it was my understanding that my responsibilities would not extend past Bridgerton House.”
“Under normal circumstances they wouldn’t,” Violet agreed with your sentiment. “It is just that our other gardener has, like my son, recently gotten married and Anthony was in a generous mood and gave him time to spend with his new wife so the gardens there have not been tended to in some time. I feel as though the plants here could surely survive a while longer in your absence, especially since you have done so much work with them already.”
“I see,” you smiled. “In that case I would be more than happy to join you at Aubrey Hall, my Lady.”
“Splendid,” she let out a small relieved breath. “I have arranged for you to come in a carriage with my maid Mrs.Wilson. There are quarters for a gardener on the far end of the property that you will be most welcome to stay in during your time in the country. It hasn’t been used for quite some time as Mr. Henry lives in the village and walks to Aubrey Hall every day.”
“Wonderful, I shall finish with these weeds then begin packing,” you motioned to the soil below you and Violet nodded her head with a smile before wishing you a good rest of your day and heading back inside to arrange some packing of her own (and make sure Gregory and Hyacinth in particular were doing the same…and come to think of it Eloise, Benedict, and Colin as well).
She was content that evening to be stressing over her impending travels instead of allowing herself to drift into madness like she felt she had been doing so often these past few days. As she lay in bed, the blanket pulled up to her chin as she curled underneath the covers, she really did hope that the country air might provide her even with a moment's respite.
“I never knew you to be interested in gardening, mama.
Violet turned her head upwards at Eloise’s voice as she had caught sight of her staring out of the window at you while you took out some potted plants and re-planted them into the soil.
“Oh, yes,” Violet nodded her head. “Gardening, it’s very…” her voice trailed off and she didn’t even attempt to finish her sentence, her eyes still closely watching you.
Eloise gave her mother a look of confusion, trying to gather what was going on, but clearly not understanding the situation at all.
“It’s very what?” she asked, pulling her mother out of her thoughts once more.
“It’s an art,” Violet ended up saying, turning her head to face Eloise, a polite, albeit slightly strained, smile on her face. “To tend to a garden takes knowledge, care, and an eye for a certain…”
“Je ne sais quoi?” Eloise offered and Violet nodded her head.
“Exactly.”
Eloise watched you with her mother for a moment before leaving her to her own devices so she could go read for a bit before playing pall mall with her siblings and new sister-in-law.
Violet thought a little more to herself about what it took to take care of a garden. It was true that it required knowledge and care, but gardens also flourished with love and tenderness, with touch and air and sunlight.
Just as she thought of the sun, it peeked out from behind the clouds, just for a moment shining in through the window and Violet allowed herself to bask in its warmth. Shutting her eyes and letting each golden ray envelop her and touch her skin and set it aglow. She took in a deep breath and let out a soft sigh, relishing that feeling of something against her body, some warmth.
“Lady Bridgerton?”
“Hmm,” Violet bore a soft smile on her face, her eyes still closed for a moment before she turned her head and opened them, seeing her friend standing before her. “Oh, Lady Danbury. You must excuse me I was just-”
“Basking?” she asked with a raised brow, leaning on her cane.
Violet chuckled a little sheepishly.
“Yes,” she nodded. “Would you care to join me?”
“I think I would,” she said as Violet moved over slightly so that she could join her on the small couch that faced the window. “Miss Eloise has told me that you’ve been observing the gardening that is happening.”
“Yes,” Violet nodded again, she didn’t have many words to say as her eyes fell on you again, watching your every movement.
“Or perhaps there is a gardener that has caught your eye?”
“Yes-Wait Agatha!” Violet turned her head as soon as she’d realized how she’d answered, shocked her friend could even suggest such a thing.
Lady Danbury’s face was not one of shock or even intrigue, she just let her hands simply rest on the head of her cane and continued to look out of the window.
Violet was so flustered she could feel her cheeks growing more red by the second as she figured out what she was going to try and say to cover up her answer.
Before she could think of something, Lady Danbury spoke again.
“I suppose a gardener has many admirable qualities,” she began. “They are very meticulous, they know how to…tend to things.”
Violet pressed her lips together, she didn’t dare look over at her, instead just focusing on her hands in her lap.
“You wouldn't tell anyone, would you?” Violet asked quietly.
“What is there to tell,” Lady Danbury shrugged. “You are simply a Lady who enjoys her garden.”
Violet smiled a little to herself and looked out of the window ahead into the field, placing a hand on her friend’s which still rested on the head of her cane.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
Lady Danbury nodded her head.
“There is no harm in looking, Violet.”
She continued to press her lips together, there may not have been a harm in looking, but what about when that fuelled some sort of desire she did not know how to control.
Violet removed her hand from Lady Danbury’s and smoothed out her dress, standing up.
“I should go. I think I can hear Hyacinth and Gregory arguing. Probably about something pointless.”
Lady Danbury gave Violet a compassionate smile which she returned, but it left her face as soon as she turned away and headed towards the voice of her children. If she couldn’t seem to control her staring when you were around then perhaps she’d just have to make sure she wasn’t around you.
When Violet was in the country and she found herself needing to clear her head she often sat on the bench next to her husband’s grave. She was usually better prepared, bringing flowers and maybe something special to leave there, but she didn’t have the wherewithal today to do anything other than sit.
Her children would all make their rounds eventually, especially the older ones, but often they liked to do it alone, taking the quiet moment as one of reflection, or perhaps they took the silence as an opportunity to talk with their father.
Violet preferred to reminisce.
To close her eyes and play through scenes in her head, a memory, a feeling until often she stopped herself before tears could stream down her cheeks.
Today she felt her eyes flutter shut as the wind blew against her face, her breath was caught in her throat as she swore she could feel her late husband’s arms wrap around her. Ten years and she could still remember how his hands would mould to her sides, how his chin would rest against her shoulder from behind, the feeling of his breath like a gentle warm breeze against her cheek.
She heard the crunch of twigs off to the side and she opened her eyes to see what had made the sound.
She saw you with your back turned to her and she frowned out of confusion for a moment before calling your name, encouraging you to turn around and face her.
“I apologize, my Lady. I didn’t realize you were here,” you said quietly. “I just noticed there weren’t any flowers so I thought I might bring some by. The staff has told me you normally bring hyacinths.”
Violet felt her lips pull into a sad soft smile as she nodded her head.
“Yes…I was just a little preoccupied today,” she admitted.
You tested the waters and came a little closer, and then a little closer until you could rest the flowers down by the large headstone.
Violet watched as your hands moved to adjust a few things, not moving from your position until the flowers were perfect.
When you stood up, you didn’t take the time to admire your work like you normally did and moved away to give Violet her privacy, and despite all that she had told herself a few days ago, she found herself speaking before her mind could catch up.
“You could stay for a moment, if you’d like.”
You paused and looked over at the Viscountess, she didn’t necessarily meet your gaze, her eyes still on the flowers you had brought.
“I could stay if you’d like me to,” you said softly, not wanting to overstep her politeness.
She nodded her head, her eyes still on the flowers and placed a hand on the empty spot next to her on the bench.
You pursed your lips and clasped your hands behind your back as you walked towards the bench, lowering yourself down next to her and moving your hands to your lap.
You didn’t say anything, simply watching Violet and waiting for her to make the move, to start a conversation if that’s what she wished, but perhaps she just wanted someone to sit in silence with her to offer a hand of comfort and before you realized what you were doing your hand had inched over towards hers that was still resting on the bench next to you.
When Violet felt the warm touch of your hand against hers she had to keep her head turned for a moment, not expecting you to do such a thing.
Confused by her reaction, you quickly retracted your hand in case you had overstepped, but as soon as the contact was lost, Violet turned her head back to you.
“Is everything alright, my Lady?” you asked.
She bit the inside of her cheek and nodded her head, not trusting herself to speak and instead looking straight ahead out into the field. She closed her eyes only for a moment, simply feeling the warmth radiate off your skin only for it to be blown away by the cool breeze.
When she opened her eyes she noticed your hand in front of her, holding a handkerchief. She moved her own hand to her cheeks feeling the wet streaks against her skin.
She took the handkerchief from you, with one hand, but then reached out with the other before you could pull away. You carefully brought your other hand and clasped hers between them. She could feel every callous along your palm, a rough exterior for such a gentle and caring touch.
She sniffled and moved her free hand over her mouth, her fingers curled as if in contemplation.
You stayed like that until you could hear the thunder rumble in the distance. You removed your hands from around hers, noticing how she almost shivered at the loss of warmth.
“We should go before we get caught in the rain,” you said quietly.
Violet nodded her head and watched as you wished her a good rest of her day before leaving and she sat there a while longer, looking down at her hands in her lap, the handkerchief still wet with tears, and she imagined that this wasn’t the last time this cloth, this piece of fabric would be witness to her sorrows.
Violet was never one to sneak around, but when the house was filled with her family and their staff on occasion she would find herself waiting for a moment where she could be away and for no one to know where she was.
It was practically impossible to slip out unnoticed during the day, so she went through her usual evening routine with her maids, but sat at her vanity, waiting until the sun had just set and everyone was fast asleep to open the door of her room and peek down the hallway, stepping into it and making her way to the doors that led outside.
The air nipped at her skin, making the hair on her arm stand on its end, despite the cover from her robe which she now wrapped tighter around her as she walked down the stairs and through the garden. She didn’t really think about what she was doing or where she was going, perhaps it was just simply away.
Darkness fell upon the country and she appreciated the privacy it gave, but clearly it could only give so much.
It seemed as though she had walked all the way to the edge of the property where the gardener’s quarters were and there was still a shadow of a figure outside bent over what looked like potted plants.
She watched curiously as she got closer and possibly hearing the squish of her feet against the wet soil, you looked up and saw her. It was safe to say you were a little confused at the sight before you and quickly dusted your hands off on a towel.
“Lady Bridgerton is that you?” you called, squinting into the darkness, trying to get a better look.
“Yes,” she called back. “What on earth are you doing gardening at night?”
“I suppose I might ask the same of you and your promenade, my Lady,” you said. “These flowers bloom at night, I was just coming to take a look at them.”
You beckoned her to come closer and take a look at what you were observing. As she came towards you, you noticed similarly to yourself she was dressed in a nightgown, only she had a robe pulled over top of her as well.
It was interesting to see her in this light, or perhaps this darkness, her hair falling into loose curls on either side of her shoulders. There was no rouge on her cheeks, but the cold air seemed to do the trick regardless, welcoming a rosy colour on her skin.
She bent down to examine the flowers you spoke of, gently touching the petals and smiling seeing how they reached up towards the moonlight.
Before either of you could speak you were interrupted by the rumble of thunder and a trickle of rain which quickly turned into a downpour.
You opened the door to the small cabin and ushered Violet inside, slipping in after her, lucky you were close by and did not get caught in the worst of it.
“I’m not sure it will be a good idea for you to go back, my Lady,” you looked outside. “It’s pouring, you’d catch a cold.”
You looked back over at her and she was wiping a few drops of rain from her face, but after seeing how hard the downpour was she came to the same conclusion.
“I know it’s hardly as glamorous as what you have in Aubrey Hall, but you can take my bed,” you said. “I have a mat I can use to sleep on the floor.”
“Are you quite sure?” Violet asked. “I know you did not plan on having a guest tonight, I do not mean to intrude.”
“It’s not an intrusion, my Lady. Simply unconventional company,” you shrugged, pulling the mat out from where it was kept and laying a sheet overtop of it along with a blanket and a pillow. “Your family won’t worry about you out here?”
“They don’t know I’m here,” she said. “I’ll be fine for one evening.”
You nodded your head and sat down on the mat, watching as she followed your lead with the bed.
The fire flickered a soft warm light into the room and you sighed, wrapping your hands around your legs.
“Goodnight, my Lady.”
“Goodnight,” she whispered and turned to lay back down on the bed and you allowed yourself to do the same.
You tried to close your eyes and fall asleep, after a hard day of working outside usually you didn’t have much trouble. You stayed still with your eyes closed for what felt like hours before you really began to give up and open your eyes.
When you did, you looked over at the bed and saw Violet seemingly in a similar predicament, tossing until she landed on her back, staring up at the ceiling, not noticing your gaze on her.
It felt wrong to watch her, especially when she must have assumed you were fast asleep, but there was something that forced you to stare, to not turn your eyes away.
You saw her hand reach out to touch her neck, like she was trying to remember a feeling. One hand rested just below her breast while the other hovered for a moment, hesitating to come down, but when it did, both hands wrapped themselves around her midsection as she turned back onto her side, facing the wall.
You bit your lip and wondered how many nights she’d spent like this since her husband had passed away.
Alone.
Aching.
Lady Violet Bridgerton was a woman who the ton saw as constantly surrounded by others, but in the times you had seen her, you’d seen past the crowds of family and friends that encompassed her. You saw a woman who longed for something she didn’t feel she had the right to ask for.
You turned onto your back and closed your eyes again, the sound of the rain crashing down on the house drowning out any further thoughts you might have, and as the smell of fresh soil, grass, and newly potted plants filled your nostrils, you closed your eyes and hoped that Violet would find whatever it was she was looking for.
Violet stared up at the intricate design of her four poster bed frame. A kaleidoscope of shapes, diamonds and triangles carved into wood, dizzying in their patterns.
She felt her hands move from where they rested against her chest, tracing along her skin before moving overtop of fabric, down her chest, towards her stomach where the fabric of her nightgown was already bunched up, having fallen from her knees down to her hips.
She let her eyes flutter closed as she began to put pressure at the base of her stomach, gathering the courage to let her hands go lower.
Just as her hand was about to slip past the point of fabric, to touch skin again, she felt someone gently grasp her hand.
She opened both her eyes and her mouth to let out a gasp of surprise, but a finger came to her lips, quieting her.
“Shh, shh,” it was a gentle hush, her mouth unable to shut as she saw you lean over top of her, the shapes and patterns surrounding you from above sending her into a spiral. “Let me take care of that for you.”
Violet could feel her bottom lip begin to tremble against your finger as she felt your other hand start its path from her ankle, moving up her shin, past her knee, and onto her thigh.
She let out a light gasp as your fingers reached closer to her core, her own hand pressing against her stomach in some attempt to steady herself.
She knew she had to do something while she still had her wits about her, so she lifted her other hand to wrap around the back of your neck, holding the side of your face, bringing you down so your forehead was pressed against hers, your noses touching as your fingers slipped inside her.
She gasped with each movement, pulling you closer, her eyes closed, her nose scrunched, her mouth unable to shut, her breathing and quiet moans the only sound that filled the room.
Violet couldn’t gather her senses, teetering towards the edge of something a long groan caught in the back of her throat.
Violet opened her eyes, taking in a gulp of air and quickly pushing herself up in her bed.
She looked around her room, it was dark and empty. She looked up to her bedframe, the shapes causing her mind to spin as your face flashed before her.
Her skin was sticky with sweat, the fabric of her nightgown clinging onto her as she covered her face with her hands for a moment, steadying her breathing before running her hands through her hair and pulling her knees to her chest, trying to ignore that pit of need in her stomach.
She rested one arm across her knees, the elbow of her other arm using it as a rest while she ran her fingers through her hair, tugging at it, hoping the pain might pull her away from her thoughts.
Moving on to pinch the bridge of her nose, she fell back onto the mattress, staring at the wall, too afraid to look up and be reminded of her dream, too afraid to close her eyes and let her subconscious gain control once more.
So she stayed like that, in bed, staring at the wall until the sun leaked into the room telling her she was finally safe, or so at least she thought.
A few days had passed and Violet had barely left her room. She told her family she was feeling unwell and needed to rest, but in reality, she spent most of her time still dressed in a nightgown, sitting on the chaise lounge, looking out at the clouds that loomed overhead.
When she opened the window to allow for some fresh air to enter the room, she could smell the rain in the air, the clouds making their way towards Aubrey Hall seemed to match her suspicions and she knew that evening she wouldn’t confine herself to her room any longer.
Across the property, you had the Sunday off and used the time to enjoy the clear skies while they lasted, finding company in yourself, bouncing between a book and cooking a few things for yourself to eat while you mentally planned how the rest of your week would look like, assigning areas of the property based on priority and need.
Gardening was hard work, there was no question about it. But the results were always worth it, every single time without fail. Looking at the finished product and being able to see beauty and order in something so wild and free.
As the evening rolled in, and the grey sky was replaced by the deep navy that visited every night, you made your way back inside, boiling the pot of water for a cup of tea while you heard the rain begin to patter outside, drop by drop until it was continuous and loud against the roof of your cabin.
You didn’t expect to do much else aside from sit and enjoy your drink, perhaps read a few more chapters of your book when you heard a knock at your door.
Not knowing who was on the other side, you grabbed your robe and wrapped it around yourself before going to the door and opening it.
Your hand immediately flew to your mouth, “Lady Bridgerton…” your voice trailed off as you took in her appearance, in nothing but a nightgown, completely soaked, mud lining the bottom of it, her hair stringy and stuck to the sides of her face. You quickly opened the door wider and pulled her inside and out of the cold, closing the door behind you. “What happened?”
“Mistimed my evening promenade,” she said quietly. “I-I was closer to here than the hall…”
You nodded your head and moved her over towards the stool in front of the fire, sitting her down and moving away to rummage through your things to find a towel, bringing it to her and wrapping it around her shoulders.
She looked up at you, her lashes still dripping with water and you bent down next to her, tucking her hair behind her ears so it didn’t stick to her face, lifting the towel slightly to help wipe away some of the water that was still dripping down her face.
You didn’t even think twice about the familiarity, unable to bring yourself to just leave her alone like that. And perhaps you didn’t think twice because she didn’t so much as flinch with your touch, if anything she leaned into your hand.
“My Lady, you risk catching a cold in such weather,” you said softly.
“I know,” she whispered. “I should be more careful.”
“Does your family not know you have come outside?” you asked and she nodded her head.
“I just needed a moment alone.”
“According to your daughter, moments alone are all you’ve had these past few days,” you said. “Miss Eloise said you were unwell.”
“I-I was,” Violet nodded. “What I meant is that I needed some fresh air after being in my chambers for so long.”
You nodded your head and respected her answer, standing up from beside her and bringing her the cup of tea you had made for yourself in hopes that it would speed up the process of warming her up as the towel and fire helped to dry her off.
When you saw her finally begin to get back to her normal temperature you realized there was no way she could stay in her current clothes, the bottom of her dress now caked with dry mud.
You stood up again and went to the dresser, looking through a few things before finding what it was you wanted and bringing it to her in exchange for the empty cup. It was a nightgown, left in the cabin perhaps by a previous gardener’s wife, but it looked like it would fit Violet and it could do the trick for the night.
She took it from your hands and slowly stood up, removing the towel from her shoulders before going into the small washroom to get changed.
You hung the towel to dry by the fire while you waited and just as she exited the washroom with her dirtied nightgown in hand she saw you reaching for the mat you had slept on last time.
“Why don’t you stay with me on the bed,” Violet said. “I could not impose on your kindness more than once.”
You pressed your lips together and looked down at the mat in your hands.
“I insist. It is big enough for both of us.”
“Just barely, my Lady,” you looked at her just to make sure that she was absolutely certain.
“Either we both sleep on the bed or I shall take the mat this time,” she said. “You’ve already done a lot for me tonight, I cannot possibly take your place of rest as well.”
You chewed on the inside of your cheek and let go of the mat, sliding it back into its place between the bookcase and the wall.
You motioned for her to take her spot on the bed, and she did so after folding her gown and placing it off to the side, sliding underneath the covers and moving to the side next to the wall. When she was settled you came in next to her, turning your back to hers, staring out the window at the rain pouring down on the property.
The sound brought you back to that previous evening, under similar circumstances.
You recalled the way she wrapped her arms around herself, how she tossed and turned and it made you think about tonight, how incredibly still she was lying, how she had melted into your touch.
You felt your mouth begin to open and before you could stop yourself you asked,
“My Lady, why were you outside tonight?”
“I-I told you I wanted some fresh air,” she repeated her response from before.
“What I mean to say…is why were you really outside?”
You could hear Violet swallow thickly.
She fumbled over an excuse, her mind unable to give her a good enough lie to cover up.
You turned so that you were on your back, now staring at the ceiling.
“You must have known it was going to rain tonight,” you said quietly. “You saw the clouds and you still came out…”
Your tone was not accusatory, but instead more of a query, like you were trying to figure out her logic, how this all worked out in her mind.
Violet went silent at your comment, the only sound in the room was that of the rain coming down outside over the cabin.
You are now turned fully, facing her back, the quiet intimacy of the moment giving you all the courage you needed to ask.
“Why are you here? What is it you want, Lady Bridgerton?”
When she did not respond to you, you whispered again,
“Violet…What are you-”
“Touch me…please.”
Her voice was so quiet and strained, it was the most desperate plea you’d ever heard.
Violet lay there, curled so tightly, the silence following her request so deafening, but anything was better than sitting like that for one more moment trying to figure out what to do with herself. She would rather sit in utter mortification than go another second with that fire burning in the pit of her stomach.
And just as she thought nothing would come, she felt a brush against her neck, moving her hair back, over her shoulder, tracing a line that burned like hot metal on her skin.
The hand moved back over her shoulder towards her chest, tracing a path that was so familiar, following every movement she had once done herself, from below her breast, across her ribcage until she felt a wall of warmth all across her back.
Her breathing grew shakier with each prolonged touch, as an arm slipped under her waist, wrapping around her fully until she was held, until she could no longer feel that ache in her bones, that clenching in her heart.
She focused on your hands, how they held her, how your body pressed against hers felt like sunlight.
Your hand stayed where it was for a few moments, but before long, Violet felt it move from where it was draped over her waist and across her stomach, coming to her hip, your fingers gently grabbing the fabric and tugging upwards.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four times.
Four times was when the hem of the gown was finally between your fingers, when you could slide your hand between skin and fabric, making Violet shudder as you followed the curve of her body upwards, higher and higher until her breast was cupped in your hand and she turned her head towards you as much as she could, her breathing coming in heavier, needier.
Your chin rested in the crook of her shoulder, your breath against her face felt like air.
Your other hand, still wrapped around her, took advantage now that her nightgown was lifted so high, sliding lower, across the skin of her abdomen, under the fabric of her underwear, her breathing coming in anticipatory gasps until you finally reached where she was expecting, a moan escaping past her lips.
Your touch felt like care, like water on the dry soil of a dying plant.
You moved your hand in such a way that you could run your fingers along her before gently sliding them into her, you looked up at her, pushing yourself up, putting more pressure against her breast, her mouth open but nothing leaving but pants and sighs.
You continued to move your fingers in and out, a slow rhythmic pace at first, watching with each movement how her chest heaved, how she moaned and whimpered when she wanted more.
Your touch satisfied that hungry need in the pit of her stomach, but it also soothed the ache in her heart as you didn’t loom over her or sit next to her.
You held her, her back pressed into your chest in a hold so familiar yet different it felt dizzying, especially when your thumb brushed against a sensitive spot as you moved your fingers prompting Violet to let out a loud gasp of surprise just as you moved your thumb back to continue its movement and pressure against her.
Violet tried to find words, but none came out of her mouth, the only thing escaping was breathless want.
Seeing her as she was, you could only think of the flowers you tended to, reared from mere bulbs into bright, colourful, plentiful bushes. How each year you would wait patiently until there was that one tipping point and the flower would open and from there it would bloom without bound.
Here Violet was, in that delicate stage, at that tipping point and you were ready to see the finished product.
You pressed onwards, giving her more, listening as her moans and whimpers that she desperately tried to hold back came out needily, higher and higher until her eyes screwed shut, her nose scrunched, her mouth open as it let out one last sharp sigh before the waves of pleasure had finished washing over her and her face relaxed, her eyes still closed, lips still parted.
You carefully removed your fingers, conscious of how sensitive she was, taking your hand out from underneath her, while the other gently let go of her breast, slipping out from underneath her nightgown to come and turn her face back upwards, towards you.
Your hand was gentle in its caress, in its guidance, and Violet felt her eyes fluttering open as her head was turned.
The fire crackled in the background, but its sound was drowned out by the rain, its light shining over Violet’s skin in a golden hue, every freckle illumined and sparking. The light that struck her eyes hit her irises in a certain way, giving warmth and life to their cool blue colour.
You leaned down a little closer, admiring all these small things about the Lady that was lying in front of you. You leaned down until your forehead rested against hers and her eyes fluttered shut again, as did yours, her lips still parted, her breathing still heavy.
You guided her chin up a little more, closing the gap with your own lips, pressing against hers so faintly. Everything about the kiss felt cautious whereas every other touch felt assured, that was until Violet lifted her head more, fully pressing her lips against yours, relying on your hand to hold her, to keep her steady until she could reach out with her own arms holding your neck, your waist, feeling the shape of you against her hand, her fingers.
There may have been no harm in looking, but surely touching was much better.
As your lips parted and you moved away only slightly to look at her once more, your hand brushing aside some hair that had come to cover her face. She moved her own hand to hold yours that was against her face, turning her head to kiss it.
You moved to lower yourself next to her on the bed and she made the effort to turn and face you. From there it was easy for her to be wrapped up in your arms and to wrap her arms around someone other than herself.
A few months ago Violet had hired a gardener, but little did she know that gardener would eventually tend to her.

Hi, Can I get E36 with Kaz Brekker, thanks!
Prompt: E36. I hate everyone but you (it was only the matter of time this would be requested with Kazzy hehe)
Tumblr media
WAIT AND SEE
Ever since Kaz hired Maartje, the dancer from one of the clubs at West Stave to distract the guards during a heist, she had taken an interest towards him. Which was a really bad idea of course, but Maartje was known as a master seducer and would get any man she would possibly want, and the Bastard of the Barrel was a challenge she had apparently decided to conquer.
But, as her attempts grew bolder and bolder, Kaz was slowly losing his patience. He was pushing the girl away, refusing her kisses, overall very clearly showing he wasn’t interested, but the girl just kept pushing him. And eventually, Kaz had enough and finally scared the woman off somehow. None of you knew how, but the woman just ran through the Crow club as if he had seen the demon Matthias claimed Kaz was carrying with him.
“At least she won’t do that again,” you laughed as someone shut the door behind Maartje. “She just got a taste of being Kaz Brekker’s enemy.”
Jesper gulped his drink down and huffed. “What makes you think he didn’t hate her ever since he hired her?”
You frowned. “Why would he have hired her if he already hated her?”
“Kaz hates everyone,” Jesper mumbled with a smirk as if it was obvious. He lifted his eyes on you and shrugged. “Well, everyone but you.”
You couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “What? Me? Are you serious?”
Jesper raised his eyebrows at you, which made your laughter die down. “Saints, you are oblivious to this while you were smart enough to see the chemistry between me and Wylan long before we felt it ourselves.”
You rolled your eyes. “You’re imagining things. He’s rude to me all the time. In case you forgot, just a few nights ago, he barked at me only because I didn’t walk fast enough in his opinion and told me I’m slowing everyone down. He didn’t care that I got injured while stumbling when we got off the ferry, and my ankle hurt.”
Jesper sighed. “He was worried that Stadwatch would see you. You would have been in danger if they had decided to target you as the weakest link of the group.”
Your eyes widened slightly. “Did… did he tell you that?”
Jesper laughed. “Of course not. But he looked behind you all the time. It was obvious he was looking for the signs of Stadwatch torches. And then he waved yours truly to come over and help you.” He smirked. “If it was me who had hurt my ankle, Kaz wouldn’t wait for me, he wouldn’t make sure I made it safely back to the Slat.”
You rolled your eyes. “That’s because he’d know you would be able to handle it even if your hands were tied behind your back and your both legs were broken.”
Jesper nodded at the bartender who handed him another drink and downed it again, before he shifted his eyes on you again. “And you would be in distress? From what I’ve seen you fight, you could also handle yourself just fine and deal with them before they’d even get a chance to call for backup.”
You frowned and tried to make up another reason why Jesper’s claim would crumble, but soon you had to admit it. He had a point, Kaz treated you a little differently from everyone else. But you still shrugged. “But he’s… Kaz. And I’m… me. He wouldn’t be interested in someone like me.”
“Well, he definitely has anyway,” Jesper chuckled. “Just wait and see. It’s going to get more and more obvious from here.”
Jesper stood, offering you another smirk and left you sit there alone. Your eyes immediately wandered up, and you found yourself wondering if you should go to the attic and confront Kaz about Jesper’s claims. But you quickly decided against it. Like Jesper said, if it was true, Kaz could get more obvious. Maybe you could go to Nina, ask her if his heart beats faster at the sight of you.
But you were scared to hear what she would answer. If she would say no, you would get disappointed because whatever you had convinced yourself, Jesper’s words made your hopes go up. But if she said yes, you wouldn’t know what to do. Show your interest back? He could reject you, pretend you’re just foolishly wishing for things that can never happen, break your heart anyway.
But still, the tickle was there, and you made a mental note to watch out for his behaviour around you in the future.
Maybe it could even make you realise Jesper is right. And maybe, against all the odds, your silly dream would come true.

In the first few months of living with Noah were a little hectic, you were still getting the hang of being alone in such a big house. When you first began it wasn’t too bad, he was usually pretty clean, he normally did his laundry and dishes, leaving you with less to deal with. You would do other things obviously such as mopping, cleaning the windows, dusting, changing sheets, etc. you didn’t hate living with him.
You were grateful that Noah did not make you wear a corny maid outfit and wear your regular clothes, you also enjoyed spending most of your free time reading and spending some time outside getting some sun.
You liked to lay outside and think about different things like the past, future, what to eat, when you should cook. Your mind would often wonder back to Noah, your mind wondering over to the memory of how you got hired in the first place.
Your mother had called you before and told you about a friend of a friend who was a CEO needing a maid. You were unsure at first, living in a unfamiliar house with someone you haven’t met yet. You needed to get out of your shitty apartment and your current job was not paying or treating you well.
You decided to take up the job offer and begin to pack your things. Your mother was excited for to have a new beginning and a better place stay.
The day you arrived all your belongings had arrived and been put away the day before for you, so all you had to do was organize how you wanted your room. Walking up the flight of stairs and knocking upon the front door. You could feel your nerves racing around your body, it was your first time doing something like this, so of course you were nervous.
Upon the door opening you were met with a very tall man towering over you. He had brown eyes, freckles, dark brown hair and his name was “Noah, come in, I will show you around.” Noah stepped out the way, holding the door open for you to step through.
“And your name is Y/N, yes?” you nodded your head in confirmation.
As you walked inside of the home, looking around, taking note of the big tv sitting in front of the couch, and a couple of love seats.
Noah walked you over to the kitchen, turning his back to face you, reaching into a cupboard for a glass.
“This is the kitchen; you can cook what you want. I expect the floors to be swept, mopped, windows whipped down, carpet vacuum…” Noah carried on about the different tasks you would be in charge of, you didn’t think it was bad, as big as the house was it was nice that Noah didn’t expect every room to be completely spotless. That would’ve been a bit of a deal breaker. Who would want to be a maid for someone who expects the impossible.
Noah walked over to the fridge, filling a glass of water up, and placing it in your hand. You take the glass in your hands, drinking a little bit as you take it. As you looked up at Noah you took in the different details he had, his freckles sprinkled across his cheeks, his deer doe eyes, his short brown hair, his firm talk.
You weren’t that scared of intimated, mostly nervous, you realized that Noah spent most of his days in his office home or at the actual office. He normally stayed away from you, even during dinner he would request that you bring him a plate of food.
You were relieved that Noah was a nice boss, he didn’t tell you to do anything ridiculous, he normally asked if you could do something for him, which was funny considering you were his maid, he never demanded you do things for him. Noah would also leave some money for you every morning for you to get breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. or whatever you needed that week.
Noah was very stoic and quiet yes, but he was very kind. He would call you and ask if you needed him to pick anything up such as groceries, any cleaning supplies so you wouldn’t have to worry about it. You could see he was trying to be better at communicating with you.
The first time Noah saw you upon opening the door he was not expecting to see someone so beautiful. He took notice of how you kept up with cleaning, and how you would cook for him whenever he was locked away in his office.
Your first day being there was very easy. Noah just asked that you mopped the kitchen floor and vacuum the living room carpet. Noah gave you a tour of the house, telling you the expectations, when he would be home, when he would be gone.
You finished up your chores and headed back up to your room. Your bed was pressed up against the wall in the corner, your nightstand next to it, your desk was sitting in front of a window, giving you a nice view of the sky and houses sprinkled around town.
You started unpacking the rest of the boxes you had, taking your time of organizing, putting your clothes away, so concentrated you didn’t notice Noah standing in the doorway.
The voice of someone clearing their throat caught your attention bringing you out of your thoughts. “Hi, Noah, did you need something?” You asked “no, I just wanted to see how you were doing” Noah says, you took notice of how his tall frame almost reached the top of the door. “Oh, I’m doing good, thank you for asking.” You replied, breaking down another box you finished going through.
“Alright, if you need anything let me know. And dinner will be done in a little bit” Noah says, pushing himself away from the frame and walking down the hall. You could hear his footsteps get fainter and fainter.
Wondering how long until you could get some sleep. You had arrived so early, walked around a whole mansion, cleaned, you were tired. You wondered how Noah would be during dinner with you.
You made your way down to the kitchen to join Noah for dinner. You thankfully didn’t get lost on your way back down, but you were a little worried about the rest of the house. You made your way over to him, back turned, he was cutting up some vegetables and meat. “Would you like some help?” You offer, speaking up from behind him, you had been twiddling with your fingers trying to keep them busy.
“No, you’ve had a long day, sit down, I’ll bring you dinner” Noah states ending the conversation. You nod and make your way over to the kitchen island and taking a seat. You had sat your hands in your lap, continuing to fidget with them.
You silently watched Noah work around the kitchen, he was quick with his hands, you took notice of how huge they were. You couldn’t help but wonder how much bigger they were than yours. Would he engulf them with his hands? Does he have a hard time reaching for the last Pringle in a Pringle’s can? Is it harder to find a pair of gloves that fit, right?
Your thoughts were snapped out of when Noah placed a plate of food in front of you. A steak and some vegetables on the side. You didn’t expect that on the first night. It smelled incredible.
“Thank you” you speak up again, you dove straight in. The plane ride had felt like an eternity on top of the house tour and unpacking you didn’t realize you haven’t eaten yet.
“I don’t expect all the rooms to be done in one day. I just ask the main necessities to be met. Laundry, mopping, windows. I don’t mind if you use the kitchen or living room. I would just like it all clean” Noah says firmly. You knew with how busy it was to run Bad Omens corp. that he wouldn’t have time to eat or clean as much as he would like, but that he was still a clean freak.
You were just grateful he didn’t expect the impossible. You still had to get used to the layout of the whole house and yard. You did want to try out the pool hopefully, or even the jacuzzi.
You did not notice the way Noah’s eyes would linger up to you. A friend of Noah’s gave him the idea of a maid. He would not have to worry about cleaning, cooking, putting laundry away, he would just have to worry about the company. What they did not tell him was that he would be struggling to function around you.
You both sat and ate in silence, it wasn't uncomfortable, just quiet. You stood up from your seat and made your way into the kitchen. Pulling your sleeves up you started the dishes. Noah had cooked and least you could do was clean and put the dishes away.
You started the hot water and got to work, humming to yourself. You heard Noah coming up behind you, taking the dish from his hand to begin washing. “Thank you, Y/N, I will be in my office for the rest of the night. If you need anything let me know” Noah states before departing.  You nodded your head, letting him know you heard him and focused back on your task.
You finished the rest of the dishes and put them away. You made your way back into your room, throwing yourself on your bed, today was mentally exhausting, you did not want to have to call your mom to fill her in on what happened. Although you knew she would blow your phone up with phone calls, not being overbearing, you knew your mom was just curious of what today was like.
You pulled your phone off from its charger, unlocking it to find your moms contact, and press the call button. You had spent the hour catching up with her, telling her what you did, what you must do, how the day went, etc. It didn't go bad at all. It went quit well actually. You figured it would be a lot harder or maybe he would be an asshole.
He was just quiet, and he cleaned up after himself which was nice. That was another worry you had, ‘I hope I am not cleaning after a slob’ you recall your thoughts from the previous week. Thankfully you were proven wrong and hopefully it stays that way. You liked that he wasn’t an asshole either, just reserved. You wondered how long the company was around, how he started it, you never heard of it before and you didn’t bother to check, maybe tomorrow.
Noah was sitting in his office finishing up the remaining emails he had. He wondered what you thought of him, if you liked the house, if you didn’t like it, he was aware you were new at this, so he didn't expect much.
He knew he didn't need a maid, and he could do everything himself, but jolly would be angry if he fell asleep at the office again. Going from being at the office to than having to do housework and repeat at 6am every morning was killing him. Especially since he didn't like things out of place.
After you had gotten off the phone with your mother you had noticed the time and realized it was a lot later than you thought it was. You grabbed your towel, and shower supplies and made your way into the bathroom. You wanted to take a hot shower and just sleep for the now. The day wasn't hard at all it just felt so exhausting from anxiety prior to meeting. You didn’t hate it though, the house was nice, Noah was nice, you just hoped that Noah didn’t turn out to be an asshole who would make you do senseless cleaning like mopping the sidewalk outside, you’ve heard horror stories online.
You took your time during your shower, feeling the hot water run down your back and wash the day away. Letting your mind wonder free for a bit. You grabbed your shampoo and started you shower routine. Taking your time and not wanting to rush to get out. The water pressure was perfect after your long travel over to the house.
You finished up and hopped out the shower, doing your skin care and making your way over to your bed. ‘Should I say goodnight to him? Would that be weird? Would it be weird if I didn’t? I am just his maid, but what if he needs something?’ your mind was drifting off with different questions. Before you could make up your mind you were already knocked out.
As you laid in bed, knocked out from sleep, Noah knocked on the door, not hearing anything he peaked his head inside “Y/N?” he asks, stepping in silently, seeing you asleep in your bed. Stepping back out and closing the door behind himself “Goodnight” he mumbled under his breath and made his way back into his room.
Opening his door and making his way over to his bed, he had a migraine and the continuous phone calls he was receiving did not help. It was nice getting to finish the day off a little earlier. Picking his head up off the pillow he buried himself into, he looked up at the clock seeing it was 12am, at this point he would still be doing chores. Switching between dishes and emails is not fun and he learned the hard way.
Rushing between finishing one email and another chore he was bound to mess something up. He was just relieved that he had jolly to help catch his work mistakes. Unfortunately, though he could not help if Noah mixed his clothes up or misplaced something in the house. Like I said, Noah likes to be organized, he doesn’t like mess ups.

Danny’s Journal or A Countdown to the Beginning
Summary: A look into the year leading up to the accident from the perspective of a forgotten journal.
February 9, 2002
Dear journal. Mom and Dad said they had a surprise for me and Jazz when we get home from school. Please God don't let it be another ghost gun or something. My hair is still singed from the last one.
Update. It was, in fact, a gun. Jazz now has a mild burn on her arm and is screaming how they need therapy. Not disagreeing but I don't think it's going to happen.
February 12, 2002
Dear journal. Happy birthday. A year ago Jazz gave you to me for my birthday. How my parents haven't accidentally destroyed you I don't know.
Me Tucker, Sam, and Jazz went out to eat for my birthday. Sam even had her family driver take us a town over to try that new restaurant. Well, that's what their excuse was.  I think they were trying to get me out of the house for a little bit since Mom and Dad are going on a rampage through the house disassembling all the appliances. It's 10 pm and I can still hear noise coming from the basement.
March 26, 2002
I have the best idea for an April Fools prank. It involves chez whiz and glitter.
April 1, 2002
The prank worked like a charm. The jocks are going to smell like cheese for weeks. And they ain't ever getting the glitter out.
On the downside. Dash broke my arm and Mom and Dad put a “Fenton Anti-ghost Cast” on me. It kinda glows and makes my arm feel weird.
April 23, 2002
Sam’s birthday party was a glorious disaster this year. Her mom decided to do a princess-themed party. We have been preparing for this day since Sam found one of her mom’s work journals. We managed to sneak paint and glitter bombs into the venue before anyone got there. We even managed to get one on each of the chandeliers. It was awesome. Everyone got covered in black paint and red glitter.
What we didn’t account for was Grandma Ida hiring professional snake handlers to bring in a bunch of snakes for Sam. The snakes were non-venomous and luckily were all caught after one of the rich people bumped into the table that the snake cage was on. And the paint was non-toxic so it was easy to clean off the snakes too without them getting sick. Still kinda feel bad that the snakes got caught in the crossfire though.

🎵Schools out for the summer!🎵 Lol this is going to be so exciting. Our last summer as middle schoolers. Nothing but the big leagues after this!
June 13, 2002
Dad wants to go camping for Father's Day so we're going to head out tomorrow morning. Think I heard them mention Lake Arrowhead. That'll be cool. Haven't fished there before.
June 15, 2002
I don't know how but we're in Gotham. Apparently, there's some stupid ghost conversation going on so we're going to be stuck here for the next week. On the pulse side though I found a really cool cafe not too far from the hotel. And they don’t seem to care if you just hang out as long as their not busy and you buy something. Me and Jazz will probably be spending a lot of time here or at their library. It’s huge and has an entire section of space!
June 16, 2002
Turns out I'm allergic to something called Blood Blossoms. Mom and Dad ended up having some guy try to cleanse me of “the evil spook” after I accidentally brushed up against the flowers he had on his table. Jazz had to convince them to get me to the hospital. Luckily one of the guys walking around had an epi pen. So that helped. Still sucks and now I'm stuck at the hotel while Jazz frets like a mother hen. I don't think she's even realized that she has a rash on her hand from when she threw the flowers away from me.
June 19, 2002
So… Batman is real… wtf? He apparently has some questions for Mom and Dad but they haven't come back yet. He apologized to me and Jazz for waking us up and gave us suckers? Which. Weird. And Jazz threw them away when he left because “stranger danger is still a thing even if they are a hero”. RIP little Root Beer flavored DumDum. You will be missed.
And on the other hand, Robin was pretty cool. He's snarky and brave and hilarious and he is just so cool. 10/10 New favorite Robin. He even gave me a book recommendation for the report I'm supposed to turn in at the start of freshman year.
June 22, 2002
We were supposed to leave Gotham today. We were supposed to finally head to one of the lakes on the way home to do some camping and fishing. We were supposed to have a relaxing time. So please journal. Can you tell me why the giant wannabe scaly just threw the GAV? Now we are going to be stuck in this stupid city for another week while Mom and Dad fix it.
June 24, 2002
I made a new friend! Do you remember that cafe I talked about a few days ago? Well, I met a guy there. His name is Jason. He’s an absolute lit nerd but is way cool. The guy’s got muscles underneath his school uniform too. The guy looks like he could snap me like a twig yet isn’t at all like Dash. Hopefully, we can keep in contact after we head back to Amity. For now, we are planning on meeting up at the cafe tomorrow with our favorite books. I found “Star Stories”at the library so I’m bringing it with me. I don’t know if he likes stars but I hope he likes some of the stories about them.
July 9, 2002
Finally back at home. Dad had smuggled fireworks into the GAV (how they didn’t explode when KC threw it in Gotham idk) so we spent the 4th of July shooting them off at the lake. We ended up going to Lake Erie for the camping trip because Mom heard something at the convention about a ghost hanging out around there. Didn’t see any ghosts but the fishing was good. I even caught a bass the size of my head! All around it was really fun! Oh and the stars were so clear! The Summer Triangle was so clear you could point out Vega, Deneb, and Altair! It was so cool! Did you know that Vega is in the Lyra constellation? Or Deneb is in the Cygnus Constellation. And Altair is a part of the Aquila constellation!
Maybe I should ask if Mom and Dad could get me another journal for charting the stars. I’ll need the practice if I want to become an astronaut.
July 29, 2002
It’s a good thing that I got two of everything when me, Sam, and Tucker went shopping for school supplies. I got a lot of new space-themed stuff but the moment I got home Dad insisted on ghost-proofing my new backpack… It melted. I don’t even know how he managed to melt a canvas bag. It didn’t even catch fire first. Just started melting the moment Dad started spraying his new “Fenten Ecto-Rejecto Spray” on it. Wtf Dad.
On the plus side, Sam found a new coffin backpack and Tucker was able to get a new bag that had a pouch that he can put the walkman he got yesterday for his birthday. He is so hyped about it.
August 6, 2002
School starts next week and I am so hyped. Finally going to be a high schooler. Cool Kids Club here we go!
August 15, 2002
Kill me now. May the Gods strike me down and end my suffering. May the Faits find me lacking and cut my string. May the Crone tear me from the tapestry, the mother rejects my thread from the loom and the maiden take the wool of my youth and set it aside.
Sam has just informed me that that isn’t quite what the Mother, Maiden, and Crone do but whatever. Just know that everything sucks because apparently someone called the house phone and told Mom and Dad that there was a ghost in the school. The A-listers are blaming me for ruining their high school debut.
August 30, 2002
Mom and Dad have started making more noise in the lab than normal. It’s gotten to the point that Jazz has been spending more time at the library to study. Speaking of Jazz, she has been obsessing over self-help and psychology books lately. I mean. Jazz has always talked up therapy but now she’s kinda getting snooty about it. Sam suggested we start hanging out at that gazebo thingy at the park so we can get our work done on the nicer days. We’ll have to hang at Tucker's place though on the rainy days. Sam’s parents have decided that it’s time to put their foot down and get Sam to “socialize with your actual peers Sammy-kins so that you can make better connections and start networking” or whatever. So basically Sam’s mom doesn’t want her to be associated with us plebs I guess.
September 8, 2002
Mom and Dad repurposed the fridge so they could put samples in it. Apparently, the one in the lab broke. The green stuff in the tubes kinda creeps me out. Jazz is yelling at them about it. I kinda agree. Cross-contamination anyone? Think I’m gonna eat out at Nasty more often.
September 28, 2002
Either I’m going crazy or the leftover chicken and noodle soup in the fridge was moving. Like the noodles were wiggling around like worms or something. Jazz ordered pizza.
October 5, 2002
There are new wires in the house now and they glow? Mom said that they had some sort of breakthrough and are using the samples that they have to coat some of the tech in the house to “ecto-proof” it. Apparently, the ectoplasm doesn’t like electronics so they weren’t really able to mix it with tech too well. Some of Mom’s blueprints look like Star Wars blasters. Dad’s are less impressive.
October 29, 2002
Mom and Dad have locked me and Jazz in our rooms because of the “Ghost Menaces”. Me and Jazz have both taped warning signs on our windows so some brave trick-or-treaters don’t accidentally get hurt.
November 1, 2002
The signs worked but I saw Mom and Dad taking off in the GAV around midnight. Whatever. Me and Tucker did manage to reach a new level in DOOM last night so that was cool. And it’s World Vegan Day today so Sam is going to take us out to eat at a vegan place for dinner. I have no clue what Tucker’s going to eat. Well probably get it to-go so he can get something.
I found out where Mom and Dad went last night. The cops showed up and gave Mom and Dad a ticket for destroying a part of the park's water fixture. Someone had organised a haunted forest thing in the park and my parents went absolute ape.
November 2, 2002
Who told Mom and Dad about Dia de Los Muertos? Or that there was a little remembrance celebration/party thing going on today because of it? I’ve decided to make deviled eggs in protest of their chaos and have also bought candy skulls to eat.
November 18, 2002
Apparently, there is an Occult Day(?) and Sam insists we spend the day researching cults. Tucker has found a tech cult online that says there is “Techno Magic” and he is now trying to learn it. Sam has found a book of curses and has been giggling since she found it. Sam giggling is terrifying. I am concerned.
November 28, 2002
The turkey came to life and attacked us. Mom and Dad are blaming ghosts but me and Jazz agree that this is totally their fault for putting the stupid ecto in the fridge. At least the rest of the food was edible. I mean. It had a kinda glowing but I haven’t gotten sick yet. So yay?
November 29, 2002
So the food wasn’t good and I ended up getting sick this morning. fml Jazz is mad that I ate some of it. I am fully aware of what food safety is Jazz. But I was hungry and after the turkey, I was just tired and hangry. I had no clue you had ordered pizza so :p
December 5, 2002
On the 5th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me! Nothing because my family is insane. Mom and Dad are already starting their yearly Santa argument. Sam and Tuck are both out of town to visit family for the holidays, Jazz is avoiding the house because it’s “disruptive to my mental development” and I’m grounded for yelling at Dad when he burst into my room and accidentally made my little Rover fall off the shelf and brake.
December 9, 2002
Mom and Dad’s insanity is ramping up. They almost never leave the lab now and whenever I try to bring food down to them they either just mumble and keep working or start arguing again. The whole in the wall has a frame now too.
December 24, 2002
I made a mistake when I brought Mom and Dad their dinner today. In my defense, I was just tired of them yelling about Santa. So I asked why they had hazmat suits but me and Jazz didn’t if ecto was so dangerous. Because if it’s that dangerous then the fact we have ecto in the fridge means that we should all have suits. Jazz is furious with me cause now our parents are making us try on our new suits tomorrow. I am terrified of whatever monstrosity they create no matter how “fashionable” Dad claims they will be.
December 25, 2002
It’s worse than I thought. Mine’s white.
January 15, 2003
Gods, I hate this. I’ve been sick for the past week and Jazz says we’re almost out of soup. I keep going back and forth between being hungry and puking up whatever Jazz feeds me. Mom says that she has some tea that may help but when Dad brought it up it tasted funny. It did make me feel a little better but it just had a really weird taste. Dad said it’s just because I’m sick so everything tastes funny right now.
January 19, 2003
Is it weird that I want to lick the ecto in the fridge? I’m pretty sure it is but it still kinda looks lickable to me. Like how you know that D batteries are not edible but almost everyone has licked one at some point?
Jazz just gave me a lecture about putting things in my mouth that I shouldn’t… Again…
January 27, 2003
Jazz scared me this morning. I walked into the kitchen this morning and just saw glowing eyes. Like a cat’s eyes in the dark. Jazz thinks I’m hallucinating from lack of sleep because of the all-nighter I pulled with Tuck trying to pass the next level on DOOM but I swear that her eyes were glowing.
February 9, 2003
I’m starting to worry. I know they're obsessed with their dumb portal but they haven’t eaten in 2 days. Jazz is planning on going down there and persuading (yelling at them) them to eat if they don’t come up for dinner tonight.
February 12, 2003
Happy Birthday to me. I am now 14 years old. Mom and Dad forgot it was my birthday again. They ran into the kitchen this morning because they completed their portal. They even dragged me and Jazz down into the lab to see them turn it on before we went to school. It didn’t work and now Mom and Dad are going to take a drive around town to clear their heads. They probably won’t be back until dinner time. Sam and Tucker are coming over after school though so at least it will be quiet while they are over. And I think Jazz is going to make a cake if the box of mix I saw her trying to hide from me yesterday is any indication.
