#then it makes sense that the raven wants info from Lenore before she meets theo

Ok, folks. Re: Theo is (probably) the deer, I am also wondering if the raven’s very ominous prediction is some kind of misinterpreted prophecy situation. Consider, for instance, that Lenore’s Spector is made of a Lot of Bones. “You will be bones by morning” seems a bit less universally grim if that’s the case.
Because the raven watches all the cohorts at Nevermore, he would have seen Theo, and whatever happened to him. What he didn’t know was why Theo was interested in Lenore. He tracks her down to see if he can find out, and Lenore tells him about the Vandernacht curse. That last name rather neatly connects her to Theo, along with the hint that their have been many premature deaths in her family. So why the prophecy of death, if the raven knows that Theo probably doesn’t want to hurt Lenore? Maybe it’s not actually a prophecy of death. After all, it COULDN’T be, right? In Nevermore, dead means insentient orb, not pile of bones.
