In the episode where Saiki wipes their memories of his mom spilling his secret, Teruhashi’s replacement is that Saiki has trust issues. Kaido’s replacement being that Saiki has a hero complex is an indication that the replacement memories apply to the person directly (if Kusuo’s saying so wasn’t enough proof.) Hairo’s memory of being too enthusiastic about sports (and subsequently being disappointed by other’s lack thereof) is plausible as well, which leads to one conclusion.

Kokomi has trust issues. Which makes total sense, considering what we know about her. She’s lived her entire life building a mask of what people believe of her, so much so that every action is over analyzed for possible reactions and repercussions. There’s a chance that this implicates she truly doesn’t believe anyone wants to befriend her for purposes other than having her be an accessory or to court her.
