4. What secrets do they keep, untold to anyone?

He keeps the fact that he has no idea what he's doing 90% of the time pretty close to his chest. Making such big decisions is genuinely scary to him and he often gets almost paralysed when having to make a choice. He's become really good at stalling decisions in a way that just makes him look thorough and like he's considering all options, which is partly true. He doesn't share this with anyone, he understands that every single person there relies on him to lead them, unafraid, they need him to lead with certainty and strength. And a small part of him is also afraid that if they find out that they put such an incompetent person in charge, the consequences would not be good for him. Historically, things don't go well for elves that have tricked or angered humans in power. He is, of course, way more competent than he actually thinks, and this fear is born out of his deep insecurity in his leadership skills. Luckily, the other Inquisition members recognise his skills better c: 5. How do they feel about magic

He finds it very interesting and fascinating, and definitely impressive as well. But he does have a lot of respect for it too, he knows how dangerous it can be. It blows his mind how magic can be used to manipulate things, even things thought untouchable, like time! And he loves hearing people talk about the intricacies and theory of magic, whenever Dorian or Dagna excitedly talk about how some magical effect works he always listens with fascination.

6. How do they feel about killing

He doesn't like it, he never takes the loss of life lightly. But he also knows that often there is no other choice, and it's something that must be done in order to protect his loved ones, or even the world. That's why he decided to train as an assassin during his time in the Inquisition. If he could learn the quickest and most efficient way to kill, the more likely he was to succeed in keeping everyone safe. But he really does not enjoy the blood on his hands.

17. How do they react to trauma

He goes numb. Not to the feelings that arise, they are raging inside of him, but to everything else around him. And he feels lost. If it was a situation where he was involved, he tends to blame himself and loses all confidence in himself. Depending on how severe the trauma is, he will avoid whatever he associates with the event or the people involved, the reminder of it too painful and bringing up too many emotions. He might slowly return to those things over time, but he has to heal first.

30. What makes them cry

Quite a few things. Feeling lonely. Seeing or hearing about injustice or suffering of others. Seeing an animal suffer. The immense pressure put upon him. Arguments with loved ones. Obviously death of loved ones.

For Nicodemus, 67, 47, and 15 please! If any of these are answered, maybe riddle me this; what would be their worst nightmare?

15. What was something their parents taught them?

Well, his parents tried to teach him merchant skills so he could take over the business one day, but lets just say he didn't quite.. take to them xD But even though he wasn't very good at them, he did still learn something. For example, he learned that almost everything can be negotiated if you know how, something his mother was very good at. They also taught him to always be polite and that everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

47.  What’s their pain tolerance like?

Hmm, a bit below average I'd say. He wasn't used to a whole lot of pain in his life prior to his adventures, so getting into fights and getting stabbed, crushed, bitten and all manner of awful injuries was quite a shock for him. Even though he's more used to it by now the pain is still always a shock to his system and tough for him to deal with.

67. Is their bedroom messy? What about their bathroom? Kitchen? Living room?

He hasn't had a chance to have his own house yet since he lived with his parents, then at the academy where he only had his room and now he's renting a room at a boarding house. But if he hypothetically had his own house to take care of, it would be like this:

Bedroom: Pretty tidy except for the desk, which is always covered in a mess of parchment, books and spell components

Bathroom: Clean and neat

Kitchen: Definitely quite messy, he's a terrible cook and doesn't enjoy kitchen related activities so cleaning the kitchen is always at the bottom of his priorities

Living room: Looks lived in but still quite tidy, especially with guests coming over

Worst nightmare

Putting this one under a cut bc it's pretty violent and graphic.

He is trapped, paralysed and unable to move or do anything as he sees his parents and friends attacked, tortured and eaten by horrible creatures. He hears the terrible screams of his friends, his parents, Sips, poor little Azalea. Some of them are devoured, some of them have their brain sucked out through their nose and ears by tentacles, little Azalea is torn apart, Sips has bloody stumps for hands and is left with an empty vacant expression, drool coming out of his mouth and bereft of any intelligence or personality. His parents are dying, horrible gashes in their chests, asking over and over "Why?" He looks down at his hands, they are full of blood, he is killing them. He cannot move. The Coral House is burning, the flames carrying the agonised screams of their beloved, elderly landladies. It's his fault. All this suffering has been brought upon them because of him. And he can't. Do. Anything.

9. What is their favorite color? Favorite animal?

Definitely green, he loves nature so much and green is everywhere, it's such a fresh and happy colour to him. He also really likes red brown, it makes him feel warm and safe—partly because it's the colour of his hart Valeth, but also because his vague memories of his mother heavily feature her long red brown hair.

Any deer like animals are his favourites, harts and halla especially. He's also partial to nugs, imagine his glee at discovering the nuggalope :D

18. What languages can they speak? Where did they learn these languages? 

Common, of course. He also speaks Elven on the same level as the Keeper, he feels a great need to learn as much as possible of their lost language and keep it alive, and continues to do so on his travels with the Inquisition. He is definitely writing down any new Elven he discovers and brings it back to the clan after defeating Corypheus (and later after Trespasser too). And he knows a bit of Tevene too! Enough to keep a basic conversation and get the general gist of most sentences at least. He had Dorian teach him, he wanted to be able to understand his native tongue, both to feel closer to Dorian and for any inevitable future journeys to Tevinter.

23. Do they get lonely easily?

Hmm, back with the clan I would say no. Even on the days where he was hunting or scouting alone in the woods, he never felt lonely. The nature and animals around him, and the knowledge that his clan was waiting for him when he got back, always gave him comfort and company. After the conclave however, he felt lonely often. Funny, now that he was constantly surrounded by more people than he'd seen in one place before, he felt more alone than ever. He still sought comfort with his hart and other animals and his friendships with the inner circle and Dorian helped a lot of course. But being the Inquisitor is incredibly lonely.

41. What does their laugh sound like? Do they snort when they laugh? How often do they laugh? 

Faron laughs freely and openly, a loud warm laugh that's very contagious when he's genuinely amused or happy. Which happens quite a lot because he's surrounded by a lot of funny people. Faron finds humour in a lot of things and enjoys a good banter or pun too, so even more often than a laugh you'll hear a chuckle or one of those short amused exhales.

56. What do they smell like? Why do they smell like this? (Is it the things they’re around or a perfume they wear?)

Aside from body odour which I have no idea how to describe, he would often smell of animals and herbs. He's often in the stable to spend time with Valeth, and every morning at Skyhold he goes to tend the plants in the herb garden. (He also collects every single elfroot he sees. Every. Single. One.)

69. How did the people in their environment growing up affect their personality?

Growing up always surrounded by the clan made him a very social person. The supportive environment and encouragement from both the Hahren and the Keeper to ask questions and seek knowledge, made him feel safe to express his opinions, question things and be endlessly curious about everything. And his father affected him most of all. Faron learned the respect for all living creatures, a sense of duty and to protect those who can't protect themself from his father. He was also intended to follow in his father's footsteps to become lead hunter one day, and so he learned his strong hunting skills and the beginnings of leadership skills from him as well. It's those lessons that made him try to understand the people he interacts with, trying to identify their strengths and how they may work together, learning to solve issues between them in a fair and diplomatic manner. It was his father's guidance that resulted in him becoming such a strong leader for the Inquisition later.
