I would also like to be plotted
The chaotic energy that radiates off our interactions leads me to believe a fight between us would be absolutely hilarious and fun but I refuse to lose

#moon rambles#themongols#sometimes it just fun to duke it out with someone ESPECIALLY if they are a friend lol

Ogedei Khan’s First Conquests
Ogedei is recorded to have been a capable military commander. He took part in his father’s campaign against the Jin Dynasty, as well as the invasion of the Khwarazmian Empire. At Samarkand, Ogedei is recorded to have been given command of the siege due to a disagreement between his two older brothers regarding military strategy. The city was eventually captured and destroyed.

As a young man Ogedei joined in the Mongol invasion of the Jurchen and showed himself to be an able commander.
Before the invasion of the Khwarazim empire Genghis summoned a family Khurultai (council) to decide on a successor. A bitter row broke out between Ogedei’s older brothers. Chagatai refused to accept Jochi as legitimate to succeed and instead he suggested Ogedei as the next Great Khan. Genghis agreed to this and named Ogedei his primary heir.

The Hojo Clan
The Hojo Clan was a family who controlled the hereditary title of shikken (regent) of the Kamakura shogunate between 1206 and 1333. Despite the title, in practice the family wielded actual governmental power during this period compared to both the Kamakura shoguns, or the Imperial Court in Kyoto, whose authority was largely symbolic. The Hōjō are known for fostering Zen Buddhismand the development of Bushidō and for leading the successful opposition to theMongol invasions of Japan. Resentment at Hōjō rule eventually culminated with the clan's overthrow and the establishment of the Ashikaga shogunate. The Hōjō were an offshoot of the Minamoto's arch-enemy, the Taira of the Kammu branch, originating in Izu Province. They gained power by supporting the extermination of their close relatives the Taira by inter marrying with and supporting Minamoto no Yoritomoin the Battle of Dan-no-ura. Just 18 years after, the Hōjō usurped power with Yoritomo's passing.
*PROMINENT PEOPLE*
Hōjō Tokimasa (1138–1215) was the first Hōjō shikken (regent) of the Kamakura bakufu and head of the Hōjō clan. He was shikken from 1203 until his abdication in 1205.
Hōjō Yoshitoki (1163–1224) the second Hōjō shikken (regent) of the Kamakura shogunate and head of theHōjō clan. He was the eldest son of Hōjō Tokimasa and his wife Hōjō no Maki. He was shikken from the abdication of his father Tokimasa in 1205 until his death in 1224.
Hōjō Yasutoki (1183–1242) was the third shikken of the Kamakura shogunate in Japan. He strengthened the political system of the Hōjō regency.
He was the eldest son of second shikken Yoshitoki. According to Azuma Kagami, he was liked by the first Shogun, Minamoto no Yoritomo. In 1218 he became the chief (bettō) of the military office (samurai dokoro). In the Jōkyū War of 1221, he led shogunate forces against the imperial court in Kyoto. After his victory, he remained in Kyoto and set up the Rokuhara Tandai. Yasutoki and his uncle Tokifusa became the first tandai.
When his father Yoshitoki and aunt Hōjō Masako died, he succeeded to become shikken in 1224. He installed Hōjō Tokifusa as the first rensho. In 1225 he created the Hyōjō , the council system of the shogunate. In 1232 he promuglated the Goseibai Shikimoku, the legal code of the shogunate. He has highly praised for his impartial justice.
Hōjō Tokiyori (1227–1263) Immediately after the succession, he crushed a coup plot by former shogun Kujō Yoritsune and Tokiyori's relative Nagoe Mitsutoki. In the next year, he let Adachi Kagemori destroy the powerful Miura clan in the Battle of Hochi. He recalled his experienced grandfather's brother, Hōjō Shigetoki, from Kyoto and appointed him asrensho. In 1252, he replaced Shogun Kujō Yoritsugu with Prince Munetaka, and so successfully solidified the power base.
Hōjō Tokimune (1251–1284) , known for leading the Japanese forces against the invasion of the Mongols and for spreading Zen Buddhism and by extension Bushido among the warrior class.
Tokimune was known to rule with an iron fist, and also eventually monopolized at one point all three titles of power, namely holding offices of Tokuso (head of clan, since birth), and Rensho (Vice Regent). During his lifetime, the following seats of power: Japanese Emperor, Imperial Regent (Sessho), and Imperial Chief Advisor Kampaku, and the Shogun, all had been completely marginalized by the Hojo Regents.
Hōjō Takatoki (1303–1333) was the last Tokusō and ruling Shikken(regent) of Japan's Kamakura shogunate; the rulers that followed were his puppets. A member of the Hōjō clan, he was the son of Hōjō Sadatoki, and was preceded as shikkenby Hōjō Morotoki.
