It is also referred to as "Cầu Nhật Bản" (Japanese Bridge), "Japanese Covered Bridge", or "Lai Viễn Kiều". During the 16th century, Japanese merchants began to establish residence in the port city of Faifo (now Hoi An) and established their own enclave. In 1593, one group of merchants began building a covered bridge to cross a neighborhood canal. They finished construction in 1595 and improved access between the Chinese enclave on the other side. In 1653, Japanese residents built a temple atop the bridge as a way to, according to legend, placate the earthquake-inducing monster Namazu. The specific customs vary from region to region. Frühschoppen is often a kind of brunch, but does not necessarily involve food. Frühschoppen is also often held at fun fairs, the most famous being Oktoberfest. In Lower Bavaria and most of Upper Bavaria, Frühschoppen is understood to be a specific kind of brunch consisting of Weisswurst, sweet mustard, pretzels, and Weissbier (an unfiltered wheat beer). The Bavarian Frühschoppen began in rural areas and has originally taken place on Sundays in a tavern at the regulars' table (Stammtisch). The Lehel, the locals speak "Lechel", was originally a slum, a swampy area through which about twelve arms of the Isar flowed. Mostly people settled there who, due to poverty, could not acquire the city charter of the city of Munich. In the middle of the 18th century, the population in this area had grown very rapidly. Nevertheless, the gates of the city of Munich were firmly locked every evening. Although the Lehel originally belonged to the parish of Our Lady (today the cathedral parish), after the city gates were closed no pastor could be called. As a result, there was an urgent need for pastoral care for the population in Lehel. Pasing - the place where I was born and growed up. ❤🖤💛😊🍻🥨💯📸 Greetings and have a great evening all. ~~~~ After the first section of the Munich–Augsburg railway line had been built by the Munich-Augsburg Railway Company to Lochhausen in 1839, the community of Pasing on the western outskirts of Munich was given its own station on October 7, 1840 with the extension of the line from Lochhausen to Augsburg with two wooden houses. In 1847 a brick station building designed by Friedrich Bürklein was erected in Pasing to the south of the tracks. This was restored in 2011 and is considered a "miniature replica of Munich's original central station". Bürklein also designed Munich's main train station, as well as the Maximilianeum and the brick buildings on Maximilianstrasse. This old Pasing train station, a two-storey building with two side wings and a waiting hall, is the oldest station in Upper Bavaria that has been preserved.
