"Why don't you buy clothes? Don't you need them??" I do, I want to buy them, but every time I buy them, you turn my excitement that makes my insides squirm into nausea. I would not buy anything for months and then see my sister receive 2 packages a day, and still I wouldn't say anything because I know what that excitement is. After getting something I've wanted for years, you come and hit me on the head while I'm holding the bag and say "a stone fell into my pocket because of you!", "that kid always wears your old clothes!" This doesn't make me grateful to you, it just makes my stomach turn sick. I didn't choose to be the oldest kid, I didn't choose to grow up, I don't choose my needs. Does my sister wears my old clothes??? That kid constantly takes my clothes, and when I don't let her wear them, she insults and yells at me.. You forgive her immediately when she cries.. "I'll make it up to you, my child, I promise." Why do you see me as if I'm superior to her when I get what I've been begging for years?.. I have 9 t-shirts and she has of them4, I have 4 pants, 3 of which are for winter, what do you want me to do? You complain when I wear the same thing everyday, you complain when I don't give my last t-shirt to my sister to wear.. on and on, on and on! That kid has more than 20 t-shirts, 5 pairs of shoes, and you call me greedy because I wanted to buy a hat.????? Fuck no.

July 21 2023 Lafayette and Boulder

Our Soul Sisters group met today at the little house Julia is renting in downtown Lafayette. It's charming and it has amazing landscaping.

We got to meet Julia's dog Maple's puppies and I fell in love with all of them after holding and hugging them.

Julia has found homes for all of them and she'll be handsomely rewarded for all the hard work she has put into caring for them.

Maple is a very good mother to her pups and I imagine she'll miss them a lot when they go to their adoptive homes. I'm glad she got to experience motherhood even though it wasn't for very long.

The house's back yard garden was full of potted flowering plants and I visited it and wandered around.

Julia has also been growing a gorgeous vegetable garden in the side yard. She has SUCH a green thumb!

I can't imagine letting this little ball of fur go and I really wanted to adopt all of them4

After our meeting I went home and changed and picked Camila up to take her to lunch at Aloo Thai to celebrate her birthday.

After taking Camila back to her house I went to Niwot and picked up Maple, then drove home to meet Laura and her kids, Renata, Gael, and Natalia, who came to swim in our pool.

We all had a great time swimming together and Maple was happy to be with these adorable kids who are so kind to her. The kids are swimming better all the time and even Gael swam from me to Laura with his floatie on. I'm hoping they go to the reservoir with their parents this summer so they keep improving. It's really important for children to learn to swim. It's one of the things we can teach them that could save their lives.
