The Mike Jacoby Electric Trio – The Long Haul This trio has played together since 2019. Their music is basically a rollicking rock n’ roll hybrid but it’s indeed done with finesse & expertise. Some song titles are fairly cliched (“Right Off the Bat”) & juvenile (“Be Nice” beautiful harmonica, a melody as cute as The Beatles’ “Hello, Goodbye”). But the tunes are like something you already know…

The Long Haul

Got a little something to say that's been on my mind,

pandemic's got us struggling to be back in the grind

Violence and destruction all around us, why's it so hard to be kind?

People losing their loved ones, nothing but memories left behind

Frustration building up deep within, nothing to do but be quarantined

Introspection being forced upon through isolation as we have ourselves to find

Dark thoughts eating away at their soul, sucking out the light leaving em blind

The worst time all over the world as this has us backed up against a wall

We ultimately must face this together and rise up instead of fall

Get back up, shrug off the pain and stand up tall

Like a phoenix from the ashes, fly up and power through the resistance

No time to back down as we must move forward with persistence

Strengthen our will as put an end to this detrimental existence

Being smart and cautious too as we need to maintain some social distance

We're in for the long haul as this ain't something that ends in an instance

Come together as one strong unit as we'll always have each other's assistance

Fight on we must as this threat will be neutralized

Capable of so much more we are, our potential we must maximize

As we begin to realize, the value of life and the compromise, as we must stop to patronize, to spread love and not despise

Because this is the time to come together into the light and rise.

Together we rise.

There's a lot of nostalgia in this pic: Back when this picture was taken, I lived in a frat house of sorts with some friends and it was a ton of fun!
