BTS reaction - you get pulled off stage by fans during a performance
A/N: Hi everyone! This was requested by @slowlyandrogynouskryptonite. If you have a request for a reaction or oneshot, send me an ask or message me. I publish requests in between uploads of my two regular AUs.
You’ve been in the industry for a while, and you know how crazy some fans can get. Most of the time it was them trying to get a little close once they got excited, but occasionally worse things could happen.
You were performing at the MMAs after your third studio album broke sales records in several countries, and the music video for the single you were performing tonight had reached 500 million views in the shortest amount of time for a solo artist.
The crowd had been good all night, your boyfriend’s group, BTS, having gone about twenty minutes before you. They were in the audience now, jamming along to the pre-chorus.
You walked right up to the edge of the stage so that you could get closer to the fans, high-fiving some, hands latching on to yours for the moment of skinship they had dreamed about.
Before you could stand back up, a strong arm tugged you off balance, and you just about fell into the crowd, more and more hands pulling you down, until security guards were running on stage and through the audience to try and pull the screaming fans off of you.
JUNGKOOK

Jungkook didn’t see it as it happened. Namjoon had just spilt his water bottle onto Jungkook by accident, and as his head was bent down, trying to dry off the fabric of his jeans with a napkin, it was the screams that caught his attention.
As he looked up, all he could see was that you were no longer on stage. He stood up and looked around wildly, watching in horror and confusion as black clad security members converged on a particularly aggressive throng of audience members. One of his hyungs was holding on to his hand, but he didn’t want to look away for a second to see who it was.
After what felt like an eternity of anxious anticipation, the glitter of your dress caught his eye, and you were lifted back onto the stage.
He let out a cry of relief, and watched in admiration as you brushed yourself off, and caught up with the lyrics of the song as the chorus ended and moved into the second verse.
For the rest of the song his eyes never left you, scared something would happen again, and his legs bounced nonstop, itching with the impatient need to join you backstage after the song ended.
Fuck the afterparty. The two of you were going to have a quiet, calm night in tonight.
TAEHYUNG

Taehyung was in the middle of waving to you joyfully from his seat when it happened. No matter how much time you spent later reassuring him it was fine, he would always blame himself for distracting you.
One moment you were grinning back at him, hitting the right notes like it was breathing, and the next, a yelp from your mic echoed out through the arena as you were pulled off stage.
He froze, unable to think or act until he saw your hand reach up through the crowd and latch onto the arm of a beefy security man on stage, and lift you back up.
Once back on stage, and stable, you rushed away from the edge of the stage, continuing the song but staying very far away from any fans. Though nobody would judge you for it, everyone could hear the confidence and power had left your voice, and the rest of the song felt a little more somber than what had come before as you tried to keep the runs in line and the belts from wobbling.
It wasn’t until Yoongi quietly handed him a tissue that Tae realized he was crying.
JIMIN

Jimin couldn’t help himself but want to be there the second you left the stage after your performance, so he always snuck backstage just after the intro. He knew how exhilarating it felt to leave the stage after a job well done, and that was something you always wanted to share with him.
He couldn’t see you very well from the wing he was behind once you left the main center of the stage, but because he’d be seen if he snuck out any further, he waited.
Out of nowhere, you stopped singing and he heard the music cut off, followed by a tremendous uproar.
Ignoring protocol, he stepped out onto stage and faltered when he saw you half-on, half-off the edge of the stage, a hand wrapped in your hair, trying to pull you fully off.
The security on the floor were trying to push through the crowd, but with very little success, and the on-stage members were nowhere to be found.
Without thinking, Jimin rushed forward to you and began prying open the fingers of the hand stuck in your hair, finally breaking you free and pulling you close to him.
With the music cut off, the only sounds most of the arena could hear were the fans themselves, but Jimin was close enough to hear something else.
You buried your face into his chest and began to cry.
He sought out his members’ faces in the crowd and jerked his head to the wings, indicating they should go backstage, then gently carried most of your weight and escorted you off stage, holding on to you tighter than he ever had before.
NAMJOON

It tore Namjoon up inside, seeing the chaos that unfolded, but feeling like he had to stick with his team. He couldn’t abandon his brothers as much as he wanted to run to you. The security would handle it, and he knew deep down he would just be putting himself in danger if he tried to get all the way through the crowds from behind the mosh pit.
He bounced his knee and put his face in his hands, peeking around his fingers and praying you were okay.
The maknaes were all freaking out themselves, but Hoseok was holding on to Namjoon tightly and Yoongi and Jin were reassuring both him and the youngsters that everything would be fine.
And they were right.
You were lifted back onto the stage less than thirty seconds after the tumble, and you seemed more surprised than anything else, continuing your song as bouncy as you were before, but with a slightly startled look in your eyes.
Namjoon only relaxed when you saw him at their table and flicked him a heart. He mouthed back ‘I love you’ and forced himself to cheer up, applauding and hooting like mad when the song finished.
HOSEOK

Hoseok didn’t get mad often. Even when he wasn’t bouncing off the walls, he felt like a pretty cheery person.
But when a psycho fan overstepped the line and held on to you with far more force than was appropriate, causing you to fall off kilter in your heels and slip off stage, there was no putting up a brave face.
The other members all looked terrified, but whether it was for your safety, or because of the deadly look in his eyes, he couldn’t say. His mouth was in a tense line, jaw clenched, and he glared at the pitiful efforts of the staff members trying to help you back onto stage.
He had told you time and time again not to do fanservice for too long. The crazy fans got too excited and decided to try things they shouldn’t.
Yet you never listened to him, always insisting your fans were angels.
After a few moments of chaos, your voice rang out through the arena again as you picked up on the second verse, and he spotted you on stage again, joining your backup dancers rather than spending any more time at the front.
Although he was no longer worried for your safety, the dark expression remained. After he was done with you tonight, you wouldn’t disobey him like this again.
YOONGI

Playing nice with the whole celebrity thing was something Yoongi had had to learn as Bangtan grew more and more popular. But it was also something he was very quick to forget, in moments like these when people crossed a line.
His heart plummeted in his chest when you toppled off stage, and it was Namjoon’s solid grip on his wrist that kept him from recklessly running into the fray himself.
He stood, anchored by the leader, trying to catch a glimpse of what was going on, feeling sick at the thought of something bad happening, when finally, you appeared back on the black surface of the stage, not singing, not moving, just sitting there staring blankly up at the muscled man who had lifted you up.
He curled his lip in anger when your fans started yelling and chanting at you to keep seeing, as you tried desperately to keep your composure.
On the screens on either side of you, he can see you cover up your mic and say something to the man, who promptly helps you up and escorts you off stage.
Namjoon is urging him to sit down, but the fans don’t stop chanting, like they’re expecting you to come back out just because they want it, and the music keeps obstinately playing, and he just can’t take it anymore.
He shakes off the grip on his arm and hurries backstage to find you.
JIN

Jin didn’t like showing worry or concern in front of the public, in front of ARMY. He was the carefree jokester, and he felt comfortable like that.
He had never wanted to throw down the title so quickly as he did in that moment.
You got tugged off by the arm, but your top half was still on stage, free hand grappling at the slippery floor to try and pull yourself free.
He watched with open mouth and wide eyes as you struggled for ten or so seconds, only breaking loose after the venue security intervened and restrained the fan that was responsible.
You scoot back before standing up shakily. You missed the chorus, and there’s a few bars of choreography before the second verse, but instead of dancing, you call out on your mic breathlessly “maybe I should just perform from down there next time, huh?”
You finished off the song just as flawlessly as you had begun it, and Jin slowly felt his heart return back to its regular speed, dancing to the music goofily like nothing had happened.
You two could talk about it later, if you wanted to. For now, he was going to enjoy his girlfriend’s amazing performance.

An economic hell without bars | Business
The state of alarm has left the San Miguel (Madrid) market empty, always crowded.Claudio Alvarez / EL PAIS
A few days before the state of alarm, Antonio Vázquez decided to close his two hotels in Le��n and his five restaurants by the By Vamuca group, one of them in Madrid. “It looks like we've been four months and we've been four days,” he snorts on the other end of the phone. Does damage count. “On Friday (around the 13th) we fed, but canceled the dinners. Hosted customers checked out on Saturday. Then it was not very clear the scope of a cessation due to force majeure. ” Two days later the state of alarm began. The sequence that relates in his business is lived these days by thousands of companies: ERTE for the majority of the workforce and the few who telecommute attend to the paperwork of clients, suppliers, taxes or cancel the weddings and communions planned for Easter. The economy goes out to save lives and the country of the sun and tapas shows that it can go a few weeks without its 183,306 bars, 78,950 restaurants and 16,600 hotels. At least for now.
The fade to black has triggered an economic shock never seen before in a sector that employs 1.7 million people and generates 123.6 billion euros, 6.2% of GDP. Between March 1 and March 21, Infojobs records that 75% of job offers on the so-called Horeca channel (hotels, restaurants and cafes) have disappeared from its platform. The same occurs in the meat and fishing sector. The 30,000 professionals who go to sea in Spain are devastated by the plummeting price of fish markets in recent days. Without restaurants, the slaughterhouses are not having a good time either. The demand for products such as chicken has risen in the supermarket, but the collapse caused by the closure of restaurants and fast food outlets has begun to be noticed. UPA warns that the damage is already being felt, especially in the sheep-goat and pig sectors. “The restaurant is the main destination for suckling pigs and suckling pigs, products that Spaniards are today little used to cooking at home,” say the union. Without tourism, in addition, many small cheese factories can be affected.
José Luis Yzuel, President of Hospitality of Spain, is about to break the virus but is still coughing. Indeed, in the last 20 years, with a great recession in between, employment in Spanish restaurants has doubled thanks to increasing tourism. And in the last five years the boom has been spectacular, in quantity and quality. Gonzalo Fuentes, head of Hospitality and Tourism at CC OO, appeals to that brilliant past so that he regrets so much and puts his shoulder closer. “We come from 10 years of prosperity. They have made more money than ever and now there are unscrupulous people who do not want to keep a job. We are very concerned about the discontinued posts, we are talking about thousands of workers who were hired for Easter and who are going to stay at home ”. He relates that two weeks before the global alarm was unleashed, in early March, many hotel chains were already turning off the tap with layoffs. “If the summer comes bad we will see, but we cannot speak of ruin now when we have been closed for two weeks,” he complains.
The problem is that it's not just them. Behind bars or coffee shops is a chain of suppliers perhaps longer than the RNA of the virus. José Manuel Fernández, general director of Fedishoreca, the union federation, relates, for example, how the distributors have remained (there are some 4,000 in Spain). “There is only a little work left in serving service areas, especially drinks.” The points of sale begin to communicate that they will not pay the pending receipts, at least until the situation is clarified. The business of Juan Peiró, a frozen food and beverage distributor with two delivery platforms in Valencia and Ibiza, is almost 100% geared towards hospitality. “We calculate three months of hiatus. We have asked for the blocking of payments to suppliers and the reaction is being exemplary, we have also admitted that our clients do not pay us. ” They have about 2,000, but only five, he says, with sufficient financial capacity to endure so long without help. “The vast majority of the hospitality industry is people who live daily. They have rents to pay, with little margin. ” Although perhaps not everyone has the box so empty. Everything will depend on how long it takes to recover normality. The winemaker Rene Barbier, president of Clos Mogador in Priorat, is not among those who will have the worst time, because his wine has more demand than the production capacity of his vineyard, but he carefully watches the foreign markets that he opened after the last crisis (States United among them), something that hundreds of exporting companies are also doing. “I've been going crazy for two weeks trying to make everything work. Coffee for no one
Although Spain is one of the main wine producers, things do not improve for those who import the products that supply the Horeca channel, such as coffee. Ricardo Oteros runs Supracafé, a company that works for hotels and restaurants. “We have scheduled our purchases and established supply contracts months in advance. Perhaps that is not the main problem now, since we can seek or negotiate financing for those purchases. We assume that once the crisis period is over, things will return to normal. ” That normality, he says, “is going to be very different from the previous normality.” He is concerned about employees and their families, about customers and their financial situation, “and whether they will be able to overcome it.” And again, the chain effect of defaults with the addition that they work with a subsidiary in Colombia, where they are also experiencing difficult times. “Interrupting our purchases does not help, we have to work so that this does not end up affecting, as always, the most vulnerable.”
The same is true of food franchises. Some, like Restalia or Barra de Pintxos, have decided not to collect royalties from their franchisees. Eduardo Sancho, Marketing Director of the latter, a chain with a dozen stores between its own and third parties, says that they have also begun to negotiate the rental of the premises while they are still waiting for the Government to take measures that serve as a legal basis. to justify non-payment of rent. “I do not know what will happen, I hope that something comes out quickly because solidarity sometimes stands out for its absence.” He is concerned about the return to normality, how customers will behave and whether there will be social distancing measures, such as capacity control. If the doubts are endless, the solutions to curb the tide seem like sand walls. Emergency measures
ERTE. The measures approved to lighten the costs incurred by companies include exempting companies from the payment of 75% of the business contribution to Social Security in the ERTE. Companies with less than 50 workers will receive a 100% bonus with the commitment that they will keep their jobs for six months. Endorsements. The Ford RS200 – The Fastest Accelerating Road Car In The World (For 12 Years)
This article was written by Nathan Duff, the founder of Retromotive Magazine and a contributor to a number of magazines including Top Gear, CAR, Wheels, and MOTOR.
Andrei Shinkarenko likes things that are rare, different and unique. He’s refreshingly left of centre and unashamedly so. I had that impression even before we meet, as I park my car next to ‘Rex’, the dinosaur in his front yard. “Might be Rexona.” He quips as we greet. “We’re not that friendly yet.”
Andrei, or Andy, is an engineer. “We’re a different breed,” he explains. “We think differently – genetically, we are created, were not just taught to be engineers. Russians have a long history of engineering. We don’t invent new stuff, we perfect old stuff.”
“I put myself through Uni working as mechanical engineer.” Andy was fortunate enough to land a job with Ifield Engineering. “R.J. Ifield was a God.” He explains. “112 patents – among other things, the hydromantic slipper bearing; it’s the most import thing in hydraulics…. ever.” He goes on to mention a number of other inventions and innovations. He explains them in such detail that, unfortunately, the scope is a little lost on my humble intellect.
“I love things that are rare. If you’re going to do it, make it worthwhile.”
That’s the thing with Andy, if he takes an interest in something he is in, balls deep. (It’s a pun; it’ll make sense soon.)
“I started my own engineering business in ‘88 and the planets kind of lined up for me. In ‘94 the RTA decided to make the engineering signatory system the code of practice.”
In simple terms, you needed someone like Andy to sign off on your vehicle mods in order to make them legal. He was a very busy man after that
“There were only 4 of us in Newcastle, so it was busy. Especially when the kids would take their cars down to Nobby’s Beach and the cops would block off the road. 50 cars would get defected and need to be certified by an engineer. I easily would have done 3000 vehicles over 20 years doing that.”
These days, Andy is on the cusp of retirement and is itching to spend more time tinkering on projects like converting his swing car to be fully electric. Ever heard of a swing bike? Same principal, but in a car. Andy loved the concept of the bike and once he had mastered riding it, thought “Hmm how can I make this better?” Long story short, Andy now has swing car. He engineered the whole system into a Rickman Ranger that he does skids around his front lawn with.
Along with his mind bending engineering projects, he has 30 odd cars in his collection that need some miles put on the clock. Like the Ex Stirling Moss 904 Porsche GTS Carrera, the last of the road registered Le Mans cars. An Electron – a Hyundai Getz-based electric vehicle briefly produced by the Australian company, Blade Electric, but killed off due to government-introduced ESC requirements that the company couldn’t meet.
At the moment, he owns and operates a squash court. “It takes a lot of my time up. I’ve been playing squash since the mid 70’s.”
Andy’s no slouch either. He competed in the Pan Pacific Masters games in 2016 and won a silver and bronze. There was a 10-year hiatus from squash when he decided he wanted to be a power lifter. “I made the world team and came 8th in the world.”
Throughout all his achievements though, cars have remained a constant for him.
“I had worked really hard and I thought it was time to buy a supercar. I used the money I had made from my first business.” (Andy had developed a special type of Diesel Injector and sold the business to a large consortium.)
“I bought a Lamborghini Espada which was a real heart breaker. Ugh,” he sighs, “Lamborghini quality, it’s just not there. If you take it for a run, you gotta call the tow truck. I had a few problems with it and decided to park it up in the shed.” That was 23 years ago.
“There are special cars out there on the planet – the RS200 is one of them. “It was a blank sheet of paper for them to engineer the perfect rally car. That aspect appealed to me straight away. They didn’t have to build a road car – just build what is right.”
“An aluminium honeycombed section with an inbuilt roll cage that you can’t even see! Fibreglass ends and steel structures to hold the engine and diff was ahead of its time.” He says excitedly.
The RS200 was developed so that Ford could join the hugely popular Group B rally category. The Escort was no match for the Audi Quattro or Lancia Delta so they needed something truly special to get noticed on the world stage.
“I first seen the RS200 along with the Audi Quattro and Lancias on an old documentary called ‘Too Fast To Race’. It was right at the end of that era that the RS 200 came in.”
Ford invested over 10 million pounds in producing the RS200, which, considering it wasn’t going to recoup anywhere near that amount for knock on sales from the car, is testament to the times of the Killer Bs.
The RS200 was a very complex, technologically advanced four-wheel drive car. Power came from a mid-mounted, 1.8 litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged Cosworth BDS engine with a roof-mounted intercooler.
To aid weight distribution, the transmission was mounted at the front of the car. This required the power from the engine to go up to the front wheels first and then, be run back again to the rear.
The body was designed by Ghia and the chassis was designed by former Formula One designer Tony Southgate. The RS200’s was assembled at the Reliant Plant (yes, those funny 3-wheel cars) because of their experience with assembling fibreglass bodied cars.
Proof of their cars complexity is stuck to the inside of the windscreen with its strict ‘Cold Start Procedure’. This states: “It is essential not to exceed 1500 rpm for the first 30 seconds after starting. Do not drive with the oil pressure above 6 bar. Allow water temperature to reach normal before using maximum power. Failure to observe correct procedure may result in expensive engine damage.”
“The first one I found was at a museum in LA. They wanted 200k and it wasn’t even going.” The RS200 in question had apparently been parked up without fluids for 25 years, everything had seized – not good.
Andy discovered one in New Zealand owned by the Hoffman Ford dealership. They had found it in a barn in America with only 900 miles on the clock.
“I’ve only done 70-80 miles since I got it.” Admits Andy. “I got very nervous driving it around, not because it was too quick, I just don’t want anybody hitting me in their clapped out Gemini,” he laughs. “But all that has passed now and I’m comfortable driving it anywhere.”
“The first time I took it out, it felt like a dog – like it had major clutch shutter.” Andy spent a good deal of time researching how to fix the issue before a member of the RS200 club suggested an odd fix. ‘It’s nothing to do with the clutch, it’s the spark plugs.’
“I changed the plugs and 100% better. But everything is so, so tight. People blame the car – it kind of feels like the handbrake is on at low speed, you really need to drive that thing.”
It’s not just Andy, Chris Harris rates it as the “Easiest car to stall I’ve ever driven.”
“The RS200 is quick – record breaking quick. It held the record for the fastest accelerating production car for 12 years – that’s against Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini.”
The record Andy refers to was accomplished by Stig Blomqvist in an EVO RS200 for a Guinness World run. He set a 0-60mph time of 3.07 seconds. The record stood for 12 years.
The EVO’s were developed a year or so after the RS 200 debuted for the 1986 season. While they had some success, it was clear some upgrades were needed in order to really dominate the category. 24 of the original RS200’s were re-purposed which included an upgrade from the 1.8 BDT engine to 2.1 BDT-E engine capable of anywhere between 600 to 800 horsepower.
The plan was to run in the 1987 season of group B, but due to some horrendous accidents and fatalities the category was killed before they could be used.
It was a crazy time for rally and unfortunately, watching back over some of the footage from that era, it was only going to be a matter of time until there was a fatality.
Scenes of drivers leaping over blind crests, parting the sea of spectators like Moses, hands flying out trying to tag a 500hp monster as it scuttled past were common place. It looks like the automotive equivalent of the ‘Running of the bulls.’
Marc Surer, a Swiss Formula One driver, crashed a RS200 against a tree during the 1986 Hessen-Rallye in Germany, killing his co-driver, Michel Wyder instantly.
During the second leg of the 1986 Corsica Rally, Henri Toivonen’s Lancia Delta S4 went off the side of the road and plummeted down a ravine. It crashed on its roof exploding on impact. Toivonen and his co-driver, Sergio Cresto were killed instantly. The fire was so intense that the Delta S4 was unidentifiable.
In an interview just before the crash he stated; ‘After 4 hours of driving – it’s hard to keep up with the speed. So, with a modern car like this, it’s just impossible to race here. It’s physically exhausting and the brains can’t keep up with it anymore.’
At the Rally de Portugal, a RS200 was involved in one of the most horrific accidents in WRC history and the catalyst for the end of the era.
3 spectators were killed and 31 others injured when Joaquim Santos came over a crest to be greeted by spectators on the road. Trying to stop, he lost control and plunged into the crowd.
The accident set off a series of events, which lead to the FIA abolishing Group B after the 1986 season.
The RS200 EVO went on to have a second life as an absolute monster in Rally Cross. Ken Block, Ford fan and master of the skid, has recently acquired the Ford factory RS200 EVO and it’s rumoured to be part of Gymkhana 10.
Even though homologation rules stated that 200 needed to be built to be eligible for the category, it’s documented that only 146 cars were ever fully constructed and sold, with the remainder being broken down for spares.
The RS200 was but a blip on the scene. Initially, it wasn’t terribly successful and played its part in the demise of Group B. But all things considered, it’s still an amazing piece of history worthy of its cult status.
The RS200 ticks all the boxes for Andy, but he is currently testing the waters by offering the RS200 for sale. “If it doesn’t sell, I’ll be happy, the way that car looks. Would I be proud to just have it in the shed? Absolutely.”

And YES, it’s also true that had you jumped on the webinar bandwagon sooner and spent thousands of hours tinkering around, testing and optimizing, you MAY have also been one of those success stories that “webinar experts” love raving about. But here’s the thing…
Contrary to what you may have heard, most people who attempt webinars (and maybe you can relate) NEVER even break even.
In fact, my VERY first solo webinar resulted in a NEGATIVE RETURN of $1,500.
And the funny thing is – I actually did everything right. (My content was great, I had 100 people show up for the call, and my tech set up was triple-tested and held up like a champ.) One tiny mistake…
But one tiny mistake on my end that nobody warned me about (Really? I’m supposed to include a purchase link?) sunk the whole thing in less than a millisecond.
And I know that my own epic fail may sound.. well.. uncommon and unlikely.
But if you’ve ever attempted a webinar yourself (or listened closely to the struggles of your entrepreneurial peers), then you’ll know that the horror show isn’t so far off from the typical webinar experience. Here’s how most webinars go down…
First, you reach out to your email list to get people signed up.
Or…if you don’t yet have a list, you whip up a few FB ads, tie it together with a registration landing page, and wait for the “magic” to unfold.
And maybe you actually DO get a solid number of registrants. Something you feel good about.
So you go to work on your content. You labor for hours wondering what you’ll share with your audience, and how you can somehow seamlessly steer the conversation into a natural sales pitch that doesn’t make you (or them) feel sick to your stomach.
But even as you write it, you can already feel how contrived it all sounds. You worry about the balance. Am I teaching too little? Selling too much? Should I just throw in the towel?
But you’re a bold-faced entrepreneur and you’ve already spent hundreds on ads and technology that you don’t even know how to use yet…so you plunge forward with a “screw it, let’s do it” mentality.
“It’s all in my head…I’ll feel better once I’m on the call”.
Sure…if you can even make it there. Next, it’s time to unpack all that equipment and tech you just dropped a thousand bucks on.
But “it’s all good” you say…“I’ll make it back on my first webinar!”
So you take stock of it all – microphone, webcams, screenshares, recording app, broadcast software, registration forms, hosting, etc.
And breeze through the instructions – watch a few YouTube tutorials and “how to” guides, and desperately try to patch together multiple systems, programs and technologies that make assembling Ikea furniture feel like a walk in the park.
And let’s say you get lucky���maybe there’s a “tech guru” in your mastermind group who owes you a favor and steps up to the plate and delivers.
Phew. That was close Then the day of your big webinar comes…
You review your notes, make some edits to the slides (“What was I thinking with that outdated, uber-corporate template?”) and do a few vocal warm-ups to make sure you’re “projecting” properly…as if any of us really know what that means.
So you’re feeling good. Checkmarks. All systems go.
Minutes before you go live, you peek into the webinar room and only a HANDFUL of your registrants have made it (something like 15%… with most of them being your friends and family who showed up for moral support).
What happened to all those expensive, well-earned leads?? AHH.
And are the few that made it even the right TYPE of audience?
Do they care about you or your material, or are they waiting for ANY excuse to check out and get on with their day? You’re worried…
But the show must go on – you can still salvage this if you convert the few people that actually DID show up, right?
So you fight the flinch, hide your disappointment, and jump into a scattered mix of slides, screen shares and sales pitches.
There is ZERO engagement from your audience. (What happened to all that “YES momentum” you were told would come so easy?)
And for a split second, you can swear you’re back on stage at your old middle school delivering your very first public speech to a bunch of disinterested teenagers.
You bravely give it your all and awkwardly transition into your “pitch.”
Your brain floods with negative self-talk:
“Who am I to sell?”
“I don’t want to sound sleazy or pushy!”
“My audience will hate me and never trust me again…the few people I have will unsubscribe…”
But once again, you push through it and sputter off a few words.
A Hail Mary.
Crickets.
Tumbleweeds.
Close the curtain.
Exit stage right.

First, you reach out to your email list to get people signed up.
Or…if you don’t yet have a list, you whip up a few FB ads, tie it together with a registration landing page, and wait for the “magic” to unfold.
And maybe you actually DO get a solid number of registrants. Something you feel good about.
So you go to work on your content. You labor for hours wondering what you’ll share with your audience, and how you can somehow seamlessly steer the conversation into a natural sales pitch that doesn’t make you (or them) feel sick to your stomach.
But even as you write it, you can already feel how contrived it all sounds. You worry about the balance. Am I teaching too little? Selling too much? Should I just throw in the towel?

And the funny thing is – I actually did everything right. (My content was great, I had 100 people show up for the call, and my tech set up was triple-tested and held up like a champ.) One tiny mistake…

And I know that my own epic fail may sound.. well.. uncommon and unlikely.
But if you’ve ever attempted a webinar yourself (or listened closely to the struggles of your entrepreneurial peers), then you’ll know that the horror show isn’t so far off from the typical webinar experience. Here’s how most webinars go down…
First, you reach out to your email list to get people signed up.
Or…if you don’t yet have a list, you whip up a few FB ads, tie it together with a registration landing page, and wait for the “magic” to unfold.
And maybe you actually DO get a solid number of registrants. Something you feel good about.
So you go to work on your content. You labor for hours wondering what you’ll share with your audience, and how you can somehow seamlessly steer the conversation into a natural sales pitch that doesn’t make you (or them) feel sick to your stomach.
But even as you write it, you can already feel how contrived it all sounds. You worry about the balance. Am I teaching too little? Selling too much? Should I just throw in the towel?
But you’re a bold-faced entrepreneur and you’ve already spent hundreds on ads and technology that you don’t even know how to use yet…so you plunge forward with a “screw it, let’s do it” mentality.
“It’s all in my head…I’ll feel better once I’m on the call”.

And breeze through the instructions – watch a few YouTube tutorials and “how to” guides, and desperately try to patch together multiple systems, programs and technologies that make assembling Ikea furniture feel like a walk in the park.
And let’s say you get lucky…maybe there’s a “tech guru” in your mastermind group who owes you a favor and steps up to the plate and delivers.
Phew. That was close Then the day of your big webinar comes…
You review your notes, make some edits to the slides (“What was I thinking with that outdated, uber-corporate template?”) and do a few vocal warm-ups to make sure you’re “projecting” properly…as if any of us really know what that means.
So you’re feeling good. Checkmarks. All systems go.
Minutes before you go live, you peek into the webinar room and only a HANDFUL of your registrants have made it (something like 15%… with most of them being your friends and family who showed up for moral support).
What happened to all those expensive, well-earned leads?? AHH.
And are the few that made it even the right TYPE of audience?
Do they care about you or your material, or are they waiting for ANY excuse to check out and get on with their day? You’re worried…
But the show must go on – you can still salvage this if you convert the few people that actually DID show up, right?
