feeling so normal about li bing and qiu qingzhi btw
#their dynamic is fascinating no matter which medium you choose#but the cdrama's choice to deep dive on the 'old friend' deal and all that entails just hit my specific niche so hard#idk what it's like to experience the cdrama when you haven't got the donghua in the back of your head but as someone who did?#the irony was so much. despite the changes enough was kept intact that going in I knew two things for sure:#1) despite seeming antagonism they do both care for each other. 2) qqz was never getting out alive.#was sad to see the li bing|li bao stuff get dropped but the new backstory worked + explained the differing characterisation for lb rly well#white cat legend#white cat legend spoilers#<- for my own tags oops#no but like. the way that lb admitted he always thought he'd die young but maybe he could live on through qqz#and then in the end it's lb left alone with no choice to die even if he wanted to. whilst qqz would rather die than become a 'monster'.#and he meant it in a different way (addiction metaphor) but lb had his own worries that his demon state meant he was now a monster.#sth sth choices about living and dying and being a 'monster' and how lb had support but qqz was surrounded on all sides by wolves#he chose to be there because he had to be to survive. as a former slave he knew he had limited choices. but it's still so....

Dubai premium car rental: A complete guide
Dubai, the “City of Glamour,” offers a possible experience that makes the plain area more fascinating which would seem spectacular, not the ordinary one. Being acknowledged as a premium range in the automobile renting industry in Dubai, we give this luxury and stylish city’s visitors the possibility to tour this dynamic city. You can rest assured that either your business or holiday trips will be hassle-free and in style with our selection of high-end cars which you can hire as well for special occasions. The topic looks at the finesse of premium car rental Dubai by suggesting how great it is, the hiring procedures, and the exclusive activities that come with it.
The premium cars are created with the idea of comfort in mind, using advanced technology and the latest features. Built with top-grade materials, the vehicles inside are provided with superb comforts like soft cushions of leather, advanced climate control, and up-to-date infotainment systems. Those cars ensure a noiseless smoothness which makes for a pleasant ride. No matter how far you travel.
Safety is one of the most important factors in the car development of luxury car producers. This technology will be present in the cars and it would have driver conveniences that are up to date and also the capacity of 2 or more airbags, collision warnings, and others. You get a greater level of safety that will keep you or your passengers well-protected and therefore, give you peace as you navigate the Dubai busy roads.
A hot spot for super luxury cars, Dubai initiates a process that goes far beyond mere transportation. We call this process as politicization of transportation, where automobiles are being used as one of the mediums for making a statement and self-expression. These cars are grounded in access and display power. It does not matter whether you are attending a business meeting, a distinguished gala or just traveling around the city. The sight of yourself riding in a luxurious car is all that matters to help present your personal and professional image.
High range of vehicles are very best known for their excellent features. With powerful motors and very good maneuver controlling and suspension systems, these cars give to the drivers exciting and refined handling. Taxi companies aggressively compete for a wide range of tastes, including the ease of a spacious sedan, the force of a clean sports emblem, and many others.
The process of renting a luxury car runs as follows: prior it starts by choosing the perfect car for your needs and preferences. The spectrum of premium automobiles ranges from convertible sports, spacious SUVs, and sedans of exquisite class to turbo-charged sports supercars supplied by their local agencies in Dubai. As in the case of the purchasing of the property, consider the nature of a rental, its condition, the number of people, and your own opinions.
Almost all mid-end car rental firms enclose the basic insurance charges in the rent of their car. Nonetheless, the advisable way is to buy some extra coverage as this way you will be assured of a safer journey. Comprehensive coverage involves the same and tends to include damage, theft, and third-party liability coverage which thus guarantees top-notch protection.
On the day of your rental, you will collect the car or vehicle from the agency's location where you will decide to return the vehicle. The car is subjected to a full-fledge inspection and any current damages are noted and the vehicle is made sure to be in excellent working condition to be certified by our experts. To strictly follow the agreed restrictions and conditions of the rental return, this stage is vitally important so as not to avoid any confusion regarding the repairs.
After taking everything required, also, you are now ready to enjoy the premium package services. Whether you are driving along the Road, taking endless explorations of the scenic routes in Jumeirah, or looking for an adventure in the desert, your premium car rental plan takes in every minute of your journey.
Dubai is a global business hub that usually attracts people from all over the world including business professionals and entrepreneurs, practitioners, and investors. If you drive to a business meeting or your work event in a super vehicle it will underline your professionalism and success. The inside of the plane is full of pleasures and state-of-the-art devices that make you feel very comfortable working, whether it is making calls, preparing for a presentation, or just relaxing between events.
From weddings and anniversaries to birthdays and graduation days, there is a significant weight in the expression of gratitude and respect for these special life events. These VIP and Pro services put a touch of class and glitz into any event you can think of planning. Think driving with your arm in arm around her, windows wound down, or the two of you are sitting in the back, looking at the Palm Jumeirah in a convertible.
The City of Dubai is one of the most thrilling tourist destinations in the world that has a mix of contemporary architecture, heritage buildings, and natural features. With a luxury car rental, you can enjoy all the freedom afforded to you with driving conditions and seating arrangements appropriate to your lifestyle. Trip the Burj Khalifa, Dubai’s huge shopping malls, cruise along the unspoiled beaches, or just a casual drive around. Besides this, a sporty utility vehicle is desirable for the fans to enjoy the thrill of a spectacular desert safari.
Renting a top-tier car in Dubai entails the flexing of the first class, convenience, and boon all in one place. It could be for business, leisure, or special occasions and it does not matter; whatever the purpose may be, a luxury vehicle serves to make your travel more interesting, and 3rd party consumer monitoring service allows you to cruise the city in high style. The rental process can become a lot easier and less stressful for you when you understand the rental process, pick the right vehicle, and follow best practices in driving. Dubai's luxury or premium car hire providers are ideal for those who desire the finest luxury and life offering a chance to drive the most expensive car brands in the world. You no longer desire to be just a spectator but a huge part of this daring world where each trip is an exploration. So, whether you are a resident or a visitor, consider indulging in the luxury of a premium car rental on your next trip to Dubai.

AU Exchange 2020
Hey friend!
Looks like this letter’ll be going out on time, for once in my life. This one’s very long; there’ll be a list of fandoms after the general info so you can hop around and not get bogged down in the details that don’t matter for what you’re going to be writing.
Treats in any medium are welcome, my other exchange letters are here, and at the bottom there’ll be tags for each fandom I’ve requested, if you want to see whether I’ve requested them before and what I’ve said about them. Good luck, have fun, and thanks for writing for me!
General DNW non/dub-con; non-canonical major character death; heavy angst; hurt no comfort; graphic depictions of deliberate and methodical self-harm*; graphic depictions of suicide; smut; gore; grimdark; complete downer endings; character bashing; incest; cringe comedy; a/b/o; mpreg; graphic eye trauma; graphic and/or permanent hand trauma; issuefic; unrequested identity headcanons; a focus on unrequested romantic relationships**. *I don’t include things like, say, punching a wall in a fit of emotion under this. however, something like cutting would not be appreciated. **canonical levels of canonical ships are perfectly fine; background non-canon ships that I haven’t dnw’d are okay too (unless otherwise specified—see below for fandom-specific notes).
General Likes
– I really like plotty fics
– Secret identity and disguise shenanigans, the more layers to them and more absurdity the better.
– Crossdressing for whatever reason and gender disguises, also for whatever reason.
– A focus on family and/or friendship, especially characters realizing they’re not nearly as alone as they think they are, and just generally characters who like each other and enjoy spending time together
– Found family; families of choice
– Character studies
– Worldbuilding
- explorations of how whatever AU you pick to write affects the characters and/or plot, and the ways in which it doesn’t
Other General Notes:
If there’s an AU I’d especially like to see on its own, without any other AU in combination with it, I’ll mention it—outside of that, feel free to combine the AUs as you see fit.
All the times that the Dragon Rider au is one I asked for, I’ve framed it in my prompts as a sports story thing—while that would definitely be great, don’t feel pressured to make it be like that; it’s just where my prompting muse is at right now, so if you want to take it in another direction go right ahead.
Fandoms in Order of Appearance:
Hanging Out with a Gamer Girl
Harry Potter
Mother of Learning (x2)
Day Break Illusion (x2)
Hanging Out with a Gamer Girl (Manga)
· Fanfiction (Medium)
· Terazaki Kaoru (HOwaGG)
· Ousaka Nanami (HOwaGG)
· Group: Terazaki Kaoru & Ousaka Shouko (HOwaGG)
· Group: Terazaki Kaoru & Ousaka Nanami (HOwaGG)
Fandom-specific dnw: sexualization of Kaoru’s crossdressing, romance between Kaoru and Nanami beyond light shiptease à la canon (unless the AU chosen is a romantic fairytale, in which case go right ahead), full justification of Kaoru’s fears re: Nanami’s dad, heavy gender dysphoria.
Overall I love these kids and their friendship, and I also love how much Shouko feels like a mom to Kaoru even though he isn’t hers, even though he’s keeping secrets from her—he doesn’t seem to have that much parental support overall.
Whatever AU you pick, I’d appreciate that being preserved.
· ALL: Character was Stolen by Fairies as a Baby
· All: East of the Sun and West of the Moon Fusion
· All: Fairytale Fusion
· ALL: Fantasy/Magic Royalty and Palace Intrigue AU
· ALL: Magic is a part of everyday life
· ALL: Magical Girl Fusion
· ALL: Magical Realism
· ALL: Regency-Inspired Fantasy AU
For this set of tags, I’d love to see something that fuses the AU elements to canon, or replaces canon elements with them—maybe instead of gamers, the kids are magical girls! Or maybe there’s just magical elements wound seamlessly into their lives, or they instead live in a fairytale world, or…
Basically, this is my more generic magic!au set.
· ALL: Characters met as children
· ALL: Deaf Canon Characters
· ALL: Disabled Canon Characters
· ALL: Mute Canon Characters
· HOwaGG: trans girl Terazaki Kaoru
These are the generally mundane AUs—if one or both of the kids is disabled in some way, how does that affect them? If they’ve known each other longer than they have in canon, or used to know each other—how does that affect them? If Kaoru is a trans girl, is that something that she knows before their canon meeting, and maybe that’s a point at which she’s already begun transitioning? Or does the crossdressing give her a revelation?
· ALL: Daemon AU
· ALL: Daemons in Canon Divergent AU
I like daemon!aus a lot, though I’m not very good at writing them myself—if this world has daemons, what are the kids’? Are they fully settled yet, or not quite? Most people have daemons opposite to their sex—is it obvious that Kaoru’s daemon is female, and if so, does that pique Shouko’s interest? Does his daemon get him recognized by people who know Kaoru-the-boy even when he’s out looking like a girl?
· ALL: Dragon Rider AU
· All: Figure skating AU
Sports aus! One mundane, one distinctly less so… what’s it like, if they’re dragon riders? Is it a whole other world, or just our world +dragons? If it’s figure skating, what kind of skating do they do? Singles? Pairs? Ice dance? Are they just casual about it or competitive?
· ALL: Platonic Soulmate AU
· ALL: Soulmates - Soulmate Mark Appears At First Touch
· ALL: Soulmates Share Scars
These are probably my three favorite kinds of soulmate AUs—run with them! Tell me about the kids and their dynamic and the world they inhabit, with soulmates thrown into the mix!
Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling
· Fanfiction (Medium)
· Percy Weasley (HP - JKR)
Fandom-specific dnw: non-canon ships.
I’ve phrased this so broadly because it’s generally better safe than sorry on these things—essentially what I especially don’t want is non-canon ships between people on opposite sides of the war, e.g. drarry, harry/Voldemort, etc. If you want to toss in background, idk, Pansy/Daphne or something, or relationships between various Ministry people, that I don’t mind.
· ALL: Underground Resistance
· HP: Percy Weasley is a spy for the Order of the Phoenix during the war
· ALL: Character Is a Secretly a Spy for the Other Side
There’s really one thing I want here—spy!Percy! He spends so much of the war in the Ministry, surrounded by Death Eaters and their accomplices and enablers, to all appearances the black sheep of the Weasley family and not much of a threat. Now, this could be genuine… but it could also be him playing them; I want to see a world where he, at some point—maybe after he chooses to stay with the ministry instead of his family, maybe before—decides to be a spy for the Order et al.
What are the risks? What can he accomplish? Can he help people beyond simply passing out information, perhaps with seemingly-inconsequential little acts?
Mother of Learning - nobody103
· Fanfiction (Medium)
· Kirielle Kazinski (Mother of Learning)
request-specific dnw: physical parental abuse within the Kazinski family, significant exaggeration of canonical emotional neglect/abuse/general family dysfunction, romantic and/or sexual Zach/Zorian.
· All: Character has a secret identity
· All: Identity Porn
· ALL: Possessed by time travelling future self
· MoL: Kirielle as a Branded One
I’m fascinated by the idea of Kirielle somehow getting wrapped up in the time loop—what’s it like to live years and years of your life while your body stays nine? What does she do, what does she learn? Are Zach and Zorian still Branded Ones, or is she taking one or both of their places?
If you go with this, I’d rather not have her gate!soul erased—either let her escape, or don’t go far enough to need to address it, please.
The identity bits here are mostly leaning on the idea that, with her only being nine, Kiri would need some kind of identity obfuscation to do half of what Zach and Zorian do in canon, so…
· ALL: Daemon AU
· ALL: Daemons in Canon Divergent AU
Nothing particularly profound here—but! Daemons! How does this affect things? Is Kiri happier with someone to talk to who isn’t her siblings or parents or village children that her parents mightn’t approve of? I’d imagine her daemon hasn’t settled yet—what forms does it like?
· All: Changeling AU
· ALL: Fairy Tale AU
· All: Fairytale Fusion
· All: Historical Fantasy AU
· ALL: Magical Realism
· ALL: Nature Magic
The setting and/or mood change AUs—give me Kirielle-the-faerie child, or Kiri in a fairytale, or shift the setting more historical and into our world, or change the nature of the magic—the canonical magic system is fairly hard as magic systems go, which works well for the story as it is, but I also really like softer magics. What about a world where there’s simply small everyday magics present, or where Kiri has an affinity for green growing things quite beyond the natural?
· ALL: Deaf Canon Characters
How does Kiri’s life change, if she’s born deaf or becomes deaf? How does her role as Cikan Kazinski’s only daughter change? Does Eldemar have a Deaf community?
This could play into her desire to go to Cyoria, too—I wouldn’t expect Cirin to have much in the way of resources or community, but maybe Cyoria does; maybe that’s why she wants so badly to go.
· ALL: Finding Peace/An End to the War
· ALL: Legal Drama
· ALL: Magical environment/species conservation scientist au
· ALL: Magical horticulturists
This set is more likely future!fic than anything else—Kirielle’s growing up into a country on the brink of war; what’s she going to do when she gets older? Maybe she’ll be involved in that, or with the law—or maybe she goes to school and learns to be a mage, and then goes on to a career as a conservationist or horticulturist.
Mother of Learning - nobody103
· Fanfiction (Medium)
· Zorian Kazinski (Mother of Learning)
· Zach Noveda (Mother of Learning)
request-specific dnw: physical parental abuse within the Kazinski family, significant exaggeration of canonical emotional neglect/abuse/general family dysfunction, romantic and/or sexual Zach/Zorian (unless in a romantic fairytale au).
· All: Changeling AU
· All: Fairytale Fusion
· ALL: Fantasy/Magic Royalty and Palace Intrigue AU
· ALL: High Fantasy AU
· All: Historical Fantasy AU
· ALL: Magical Realism
· ALL: Nature Magic
Again, setting and/or mood changes—turn one or both of these two into a changeling child, or push them into a different setting, or change their world to feel a little more magical than it does in canon.
· All: Character has a secret identity
· ALL: Deaf Canon Characters
· ALL: Legal Drama
· ALL: Magical environment/species conservation scientist au
· ALL: Magical horticulturists
· ALL: Role Swap AU
This set is a combination of probably-post-canon things and things that could slide into the canon timeline—what if one or both of them went to more effort to construct a second identity, either in the loop or out of it, for anyone’s benefit? What if one or both of them was deaf—if you go here, it’d be interesting if you combined it with deaf!Kirielle too. A role swap—what if Zorian got there earlier and the angels didn’t think him unworthy, and Zach wound up his tagalong instead?
And the other three are basically what-ifs for the post-canon world—there’s Zach’s court case to be dealt with, and these two are both skilled enough to do basically whatever they want to, if it’s to do with magic. Why not become a conservationist or horticulturist?
· ALL: Daemons in Canon Divergent AU
· All: Figure skating AU
· ALL: Regency AU
· All: Robin Hood Fusion
· ALL: Spies & Secret Agents
· ALL: University AU
This is a whole grab bag of different AUs—they’re all fairly self-explanatory I think, though I will say that you shouldn’t feel pressured to keep the overtly mundane-seeming AUs mundane, if you don’t want too—I’d like the mundane versions of course! But there’s plenty of interesting things you could explore with, e.g., magic!figure skating, so. Go wild.
· All: Tam Lin Fusion
In a weird way, MoL already has its characters in the roles they need to be in for a Tam Lin fusion, though the structure is of course very different–what is Zach if not a sacrifice against Panaxeth’s release? What is Zorian if not the one who fights nigh-impossible odds to save him from that fate? I’d love to see a fic that goes into this.
幻影ヲ駆ケル太陽 il sole penetra le illusioni | Day Break Illusion
· Fanfiction (Medium)
· Tsukuyomi Luna (Day Break Illusion)
· Taiyou Akari (Day Break Illusion)
· Shirokane Ginka (Day Break Illusion)
· Hoshikawa Seira (Day Break Illusion)
· Group: Tsukuyomi Luna & Tsukuyomi Serena (Day Break Illusion)
· Group: Hoshikawa Seira & Shirokane Ginka & Taiyou Akari & Tsukuyomi Luna
fandom-specific dnw: heavy gender dysphoria.
· All: a character is transgender (binary)
· ALL: Alternate First Meetings
· All: Character has a secret identity
· ALL: Deaf Canon Characters
· ALL: Disabled Canon Characters
· ALL: Street Rats
This is basically the AUs of mundane level things; the broad strokes of canon are perfectly compliant with any of these, or at least they could be. What changes, if you go for any of the AUs listed above? What stays the same?
· All: Changeling AU
· ALL: Character was Stolen by Fairies as a Baby
· ALL: Daemon AU
· All: Fairytale Fusion
· ALL: Fantasy/Magic Royalty and Palace Intrigue AU
· ALL: Magical Realism
· ALL: Regency-Inspired Fantasy AU
· All: with the right postage you can send letters anywhere anywhen
Different flavors of fantasy—for the changelings, is the character we know from canon the stolen child, or their faerie replacement? Are their daemons affected by them fighting the daemonia; what happens to a daemon when the human is consumed by a daemonia? How do their powers and battles work in a world that’s more overtly magical? For the last—who/where/when would they send letters to? Would Akari send one back in time to Fuyuna, Luna to her sister, Seira to her friend? Forward to their future selves? How does this affect the timeline; do you have to be careful, lest you irrevocably change things, or are future-letters already set and immutable? Is this common or rare—what’s the price to send a letter through time?
· ALL: Character Journeys To The Underworld to Rescue Their Dead Friend
· All: Journey to the Underworld to Resurrect Loved One
Who are they rescuing? How are they going about the rescue? Are they bringing back Fuyuna? Seira’s friend? Luna’s sister, if it turns out she’s dead not just vanished some other way? Ginka herself, if we suppose that she died in the annihilation rather than going to battle elsewhere?
If a Daemonia’s victim is resurrected, does everyone remember them again? Either way, what are the consequences of bringing back a person who’d been erased?
· ALL: Dragon Rider AU
· ALL: Fencing AU
· All: Figure skating AU
Sports aus! Two mundane, one not. I’d love to see the kids in some kind of competitive something—are they teammates? Competitors? Is Sefiro Fiore a sports organization in this world, or are they both athletes and tarot users?
· DBI: Daemonia hosts aren't erased from the timeline when killed
So, one of the generally convenient things in this world—even if it’s not a particularly nice thing—is that none of the characters ever have to deal with the fallout of the deaths they cause; the daemonia’s victims are erased. Ret-gone, if you will. But what if they weren’t? What would the effect of that be; how would that change things?
幻影ヲ駆ケル太陽 il sole penetra le illusioni | Day Break Illusion
· Fanfiction (Medium)
· Group: Hanayume & Lymro & Mama Nagataki & Taiyou Akari (Day Break Illusion)
· Group: Hanayume & Lymro & Mama Nagataki (Day Break Illusion)
fandom-specific dnw: heavy gender dysphoria.
· All: a character is transgender (binary)
· ALL: Deaf Canon Characters
· ALL: Disabled Canon Characters
· ALL: Found Family
So, again, this is the more mundane aus—add these in!! tell me how they affect things, or how they don’t affect them!
Found family is… kinda canon? But there isn’t really much focus on that aspect in canon so I’d love some more here.
· All: Changeling AU
· ALL: Character was Stolen by Fairies as a Baby
· All: Fairytale Fusion
· ALL: Fantasy/Magic Royalty and Palace Intrigue AU
· All: Historical Fantasy AU
· ALL: Magic is a part of everyday life
· ALL: Magical Realism
· ALL: Regency AU (no homophobia)
· ALL: Regency-Inspired Fantasy AU
· All: with the right postage you can send letters anywhere anywhen
And these are the magic and/or setting AUs! How do these elements change their lives; what stays the same regardless?
See my previous set of Day Break Illusion requests for my thoughts on the letters tag.
· ALL: Daemon AU
· ALL: Daemons in Canon Divergent AU
Just—daemons! What are theirs? For Hanayume—what gender is her daemon? I’m sorry I’m running out of things to say at this point…
· ALL: Dragon Rider AU
· ALL: Fencing AU
· All: Figure skating AU
So, in canon, Hanayume, Lymro, and Mama Nagataki are kind of Akari’s fortune-teller aunts/mentors; if we change it so that Akari’s thing is fencing or figure skating or dragon-riding, why not bring her aunts along for the ride as her mentors in that sport, or, if we’re not including Akari—competitors themselves, perhaps, or maybe generally teachers?
If you made it all the way down here—first of all, wow, this letter was way too long so good on you for making it—second of all—thank you again for writing for me!! Good luck!!

Rated -ℜ- for Roleplaying
°°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° °°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°°
Come closer if you dare,
Call me Imp, a multidimensional being who has made it her mission to travel through various dimensions in order to post her humble request on this website. Nah… just kidding, but you may still call me Imp ;) I am a lady in her twenties who has a penchant for roleplaying, writing, and drawing. You know, the Holy Trinity. I am a huge nerd and aesthetic lover boy - plain and simple. One of my main passions is video-games, illustrating, comics, live-action films, series and anime/cartoon shows, something I grew up and eventually fell in love with.
A friend recommended me to post an ad on this website and so I eventually figured, why not give it a shot? It couldn’t be any worse than receiving no messages at all. I’ve been roleplaying for a few years now and gradually gathered a good amount of experience throughout the years, but it's always fun to meet and learn something new. Name: Imp Age: 27 years Experience: 11 years Preferences: 1:1 Roleplaying Partner: Should be at least [18+], but I rather much prefer my counterpart to be 21 years or older EMAIL: [email protected] I am a very creative sort of individual with hundreds of ideas constantly swarming through in my head. And I am very spontaneous too, so I can always adjust to a new setting, depending on how good and compelling the concept is.
Inspirations come from various sources and origins, be it a fandom (an already existing universe) or an original storyline. Please read through these paragraphs before you decide to contact me! It's important to avoid any misunderstanding later! And I would less likely respond to a message with the title ‘Hey, wanna rp?’, since I hadn’t had any good experiences with these said messages. Thank you. °°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° °°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° Communication: It’s certainly chill. You can talk to me about whatever occupies your mind since I am very open and always happy to listen to others. I also tend to be chatty, sharing a meme every now and to loosen up the mood. If you consider choosing me as your roleplaying partner, be sure to maintain a certain consistency. I have nothing against going on a longer break or even a hiatus, but the whole `ghosting stick´ is something I have no patience for. So if you’re unsure of upholding a stable, long term partnership, feel free to skim past this ad. Plotting: Also very important to note! I am fairly quick when it comes to building new characters, concepts, premises, storylines, backstories, etc… This means there is certain flexibility available which allows me to adjust more often than not. Even though this is a hobby, I am still extremely passionate about good storytelling and interesting character arcs. I hope to meet someone who is just as enthusiastic and willing to put in the same amount of effort as I am. If it’s only me who's pulling all the weight, I will lose interest fast, just to get it out there. Aside from that, I love going a little crazy with the possibilities and push things to their absolute limits. Of course within the boundaries of the given setting. Pairing & Romance: Okay, right off the bat, I am a hopeless romantic through and through. I enjoy good and strong chemistry between characters just as much as the next, and this will be no exception. I prefer the good ol’ MxF pairing because I have more experience with this. But I also like playing a FxF dynamic or MxM. Everyone is welcome! When it comes to pairing itself, I want to make sure our creations are compatible, for I hate forcing characters into a romantic relationship for the sake of progression. A natural flow is what I am aiming for. ;) Mature? Yes, very mature: Adult and taboo topics are absolute. There’s no way around it because, in my stories, it’s a running theme. The adult world is not easy to handle, but it’s interesting to explore. That includes violence, cursing, shocking content, and all that dark stuff. My limits are few, safe for a couple of minor pet peeves that I have, I am pretty much open to some experimentation. When it comes to action-heavy scenes (be it an intimate situation between two characters or something on a cataclysmic scale), I won’t fade to black since I am not a huge fan of censoring. However, I will not force or push my partner into something they are not comfortable with. If you want to know the extent to how far I am willing to go, what sort of content or how detailed my writing will be, you can ask me directly. As for smut or lemons, whatever you call it, it will never be the focus of any of my roleplays, but I enjoy a good erotic scene with a lot of tension (if they are good). Boundaries: Not a big fan of things like pedophilia, necrophilia, scat, bestiality, and those dreaded ‘futas’. Inspirations and interests: There’s a pretty broad spectrum that I deem interesting and inspirational. From fallen angels and demon/monster hunters, mages, criminal masterminds, cybernetically enhanced characters to futuristic dystopian settings, ancient kingdoms who have fallen against the test of time. All of it causes my heart to skip a beat. For original content, I’ll just give a brief list of bullet points of the general themes that fall in line with my interests. Writing: My texts are lengthy, detailed, and elaborate. Third-person is usually my preferred way of playing my character unless there’s a special case where an exception can be made. Word count usually fluctuates, though I have a standard form of 400-500+ words per response. It also highly depends on the given situation. I don’t want to set anything in stone… just to give you a basic idea of what you’re in for. I also expect my partner to have an at least adequate, if not decent grasp on basic grammar and punctuation. Doubling: Yes, absolutely! If you are prone to doubling, chances are I might accept you as my partner straight away! Although I have nothing against the simple form of roleplaying, doubling is something I’ve done since my first time joining. Characters: Very character-driven with the main focus being on interaction. I take my time writing characters and love nothing more than well-structured sheets that illustrate the vision of its creator. Of course, there’s no need to write 10-20 pages worth of character information, but I wouldn’t want to limit you either. As for the depiction of the given character, I won’t be as presumptuous as to tell you what sort of medium you can and cannot use. Face claims such as photos of real models, illustrations, 3D models, drawings or descriptions are all okay. As long as it gets its point across, I am happy. Aversions: A few minor things that irritate me, or let's say, aren’t really my style are one-liners, low effort responses and out of character behaviors in canon characters. We all have different takes on characters, which is totally fine by me since I basically do the same. Though if the character acts and behaves unlike their personality dictates, it will break the immersion. I hope to stay true to my own words when saying this. If it happens on my side, just let me know! Another pet peeve of mine is that one plot that has been done time and time again…. and I’ve grown quite jaded towards it, which is ‘supernaturals trying to fit into human society’ thing… I mean, I’m not opposed to borrowing from this idea, but for me, it grew old pretty fast. Speaking from experience. ;( Passione: My wish is to find a partner whom I can have a good time with and develop some chemistry. After all it is a fun hobby. We both should have fun with what we’re writing. Brainstorming among other things is one of my favorite things to do. To see how things unfold and how the characters react to the given situation is the highlight of any story. °°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° °°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° FANDOM: I love roleplaying fandoms just as much as I have a blast with building something original universes. Worldbuilding is my preferred cup of tea… but if we opt for something more fandom inspired, I highly welcome in on expanding on the given universe and add some original lore too!
Hellsing: Haven’t done that one before and I am curious as to how things play out, especially in such a dark and mystifying universe like Hellsing. There’s a lot of subject matter that we can delve into, plus I am a big fan of powerful vampire characters!
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: I would love you for this. No, seriously, I would. This fandom has sucked me into a downward spiral and there’s no possible chance of escaping this inescapable void. The absolute insanity of this franchise had me hooked from the second I laid eyes on it and I would be forever ecstatic if you’d message me on behalf of roleplaying Jojo. I have plenty of ideas for this one, just you wait.
Full Metal Alchemist: One of my favorite mangas and animes ever made. Recently I’ve begun rewatching FMA Brotherhood and felt a small hint of nostalgia swelling inside my blackened heart. I’d be open to play it, though it is not one of my top cravings at the moment.
Justice League / Young Justice / Justice League Dark: Huge DC fan, though I much prefer the animations and comics over the live-action cinematic. Let's just say, I like the expansive and dynamic set of possibilities and deep, well-written cast. For instance Hellblazer Constantine or Raven.
Bayonetta: Need I say more? Let’s dance boys!
APH Hetalia: That includes the 2P version ;)
°°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° °°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° CANON:
Supernatural: From angels to demons, from gods to monsters, I’ve seen it all and I absolutely love it. There can be any sort of creature or being involved, ranging from vampires to sirens to elves, you have it. However, I’ve never done something quite relating to angelic beings and their offspring before. I’ve read up on Nephilim and angels and found it rather fascinating, and it’s a different approach from the usual vampire vs werewolf cliche.
Crime and intrigue: I never stray too far from the supernatural path, but hell, there’s nothing better than some good old gritty mafia inspired stories with a complex cast of characters and a solid storyline.
Sci-fi and urban fantasy: So this could be basically anything from genetically engineered superhuman (superheroes / - villains) with a dark take on the human psyche, dismantling the idea of heroism and villainy. Or a world where mankind began their interstellar journey to colonize neighboring planets, galaxies before transcending their own humanity by merging themselves with deadly technology. I have a few plans for this…
Historical and mysterious setting: So one of my favorite eras is the Victorian time period, 30s - 40s - 80s, Renaissance or Ancient times during the rise of the Egyptian / Roman / Sumerian Empire. During these times, a dark discovery was made by man, learning that they were not alone in this world. In fact, they weren’t even the supreme race that destined themselves to dominate the world, for another race of humanoids have lied dormant deep beneath the earth, slumbering through the millennia only to be re-awakened by a cataclysmic event. These ancient humanoids are gods among men, superior in every way imaginable, and they have made it their mission to reclaim their right to rule. But their nature is not what most people think it is…
°°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°° °°°·.°·..·°¯°·._.· ☥ ·._.·°¯°·.·° .·°°°
If you’re still here and haven’t fallen asleep reading through my loooong paragraphs, then I would like to thank you for bearing with me this far. I am looking forward to your messages.
Have a wonderful day ;)

Braving Wild Winds, Dec 10,2019 - January 4, 2020 Blanc Gallery, Manila, Philippines How Not to Romanticize Resilience, Resistance Notes on Allan Balisi’s Braving Wild Winds by Con Cabrera When I interviewed Allan Balisi about his current exhibition, he talked about the three stages of painting: what is personal, what you want to say, and what the viewer understands. This concept makes me think about the three rubrics of an exhibition: here I am, here we are, and here you are. Jacques Ranciére explained that achieving this dynamics transforms us viewers into witnesses “to an original co-presence of people and things, of things between themselves, and of people between themselves.” In the text where Ranciére stated this, he also elaborately explained the three forms of ‘imageness’: naked, ostensive, and metamorphic. I cling on to this literature as I do a close reading of Balisi’s body of work because ‘image’ was central in our conversation, and evidently enough, fundamental in his philosophy. He questions its existence, purpose, trajectory, malleability, relationships, reception and presents them in his distinct artistic style and laborious creative process. The Naked Image Because Balisi has transformed his interest in film and photography into implements for his art practice, he has created for himself an exclusive landscape made of B movies, found old photos, vintage magazines, and comics. He also has crafted a navigating system that challenges his patience and sharpens his aesthetic preference. He has generated quite a number of screen captures and clippings, which he uses as painting references. The process of searching is long and tedious at times, but also a source of excitement and joy. In 2018, he released a zine titled Painting Study: Passing of Time. It’s a compilation of cropped photos of hands in some form of action with a running text Balisi wrote as an articulation of his contemplations on man’s movements and pauses… “so tell me – what do revolutionaries do these days?” Opening with a probe, it is poetry that acknowledges the resemblances of the transience of time and hand gestures that express affection, love, regret, character, weakness, faith – our journeys. The naked image’s sole intention is to aim beyond what is present, that is a manner of witnessing. It took the artist a long time in choosing the reference image for the painting Thousand Rays. He looked into disaster movies in different eras to find the appropriate freeze-frame of an erupting volcano. It is labor dedicated to presenting us the slowness of an outburst, akin to a subtle building up of rage or anger. This extensive process of searching constitutes a substantial portion of Balisi’s work. There is attention to the accountability on deciding what he wants us to witness. The Ostensive Image “As a marking on safe waters between dangerous waters, in the last possibilities of light challenge the viewer on unknown position: the dangerous water or the safe water. It’s also a commentary not only to myself but to the viewer as well, to take risks or to stay in the comfort zone, but the title suggests going further. To take courage around the present, not the past or the future, around destruction and creation, not stasis." These were words written by the artist as notes on paintings In the last possibilities of light (dwell) and In the last possibilities of light (haul). As Ranciére explained the ostensive image, he mentioned about the power of a face-to-face – facingness. He says that in facing the spectator, images have an obtuse power of being-there-without-reason and that somehow they “become the radiance of the face… as the gaze of divine transcendence.” This influence though creates for us the arcane bliss in viewing art, complemented by the process of discerning and conversing that happens in between. Balisi’s paintings confront us – face us – into action or meditation. They speak to us in isolation just through their material presence. Since the ostensive image is entitled to be art, the assertion by its sheer presence and ability to conjure meaning is acknowledged. The painting Burning Maps is about revolution as a gateway to a secret world where the existing world is burnt away to reveal what’s beneath. The artist is thinking about the nobility, necessity, and beauty of the collective action to achieve it. It is a forewarning to expect resistance. Through the transformation of a naked image into the ostensible, the insinuations are read via Balisi’s context, his ideologies, and progressive thought. The Metamorphic Image The Gap is a series of clock paintings uncovering Balisi’s fascination with the repetitive pattern of movements. For him, this echoes the process of his work and daily life. He chose the word gap in the title to draw our attention to a clock’s cropped dials, but also the idleness of images. “How many times will we remember a certain afternoon of our childhood, some afternoon that is so deeply part of your being that you can’t even convince of your life without it?” the artist asks. "Perhaps four or five times, perhaps not even? How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty… and yet it is all limitless” -Sheltering Sky, Paul Bowles, 1949 Days Braving Winds is a similar figuration inquisitive on the idea of balance and going against the movement. The power of the metamorphic image as art can be summarized in the exact opposite of ‘voici’ (here is) according to Ranciére. It is the ‘voila’ (there it is/there you are). He also burdens the artist with the critique of the image, as it is “no longer framed in an autonomous history of forms of history of deeds changing the world.” There is no need to demystify it, “play with the forms and products of imagery,” he instructs. As Balisi’s person in the painting balances a knife, he reminds us of the interface of a clock with its body composition, stationing us – the world – in a pause. Anchored Dial, Moving Hands is a lover’s painting based on a photo the artist found while browsing through hospital photos from universities. A capture of a playful event, Balisi sees this as an image of a broken bridge. Here he attempts to illustrate a breach and conflict of information. In his notes he wrote: “its an image destined to create a new meaning, or to reconstruct human relations if we can’t even get along with each other in the attempt.” He wants to focus on moments, but moments change so fast, constantly. The reconstructions of images to artworks using painterly conditions make them unclear, imprecise, with more inconsistencies. Braving Wild Winds This exhibition is a glance into a segment of Allan Balisi’s private landscape with a volcano, the rain, sky, seasons, branches, light, the sun, leaves, wind, and trees coexisting with a whole other universe of imageries. He often thinks about the significance of having an image bank given the existence of the Internet, art, books, etc., in this time of fake news. As we continue to fall blind and be deceived by pictures used in platforms such as advertising, it’s so easy and convenient to misinterpret. As an artist, he feels that this is hard to resolve, especially in the medium of painting. This is where the role of titles comes into play and influence the development of informed viewership. He gives importance to and also relies on words that accompany or articulate his ideas and images, maybe because of the often-filmic origin of his images. Even as he acknowledges the autonomy of the image, he hopes to communicate to the audience most intimately and tenderly, where the length of time does not matter. Within the interconnected micro-narrations of surviving, retreating, taking shelter – exhibiting values of resilience and resistance, the overarching ambition I see here is to achieve the double metamorphosis image. To emphasize the “dual nature of the aesthetic image: the image as a cipher of history and the image as an interruption.” To not lose ourselves, Balisi prompts us to radiate the power of our shared history, our stories that are contained in images… “like finding reassurance on familiar hands on our skin, or a kind loving gesture, or a subtle encouragement, or a loving embrace.”

Hello! know you're not a psychology major (unless I missed this fact) but i'm madly trying to understand why people ship the couples they do. As someone who just rewatched Gilmore Girls again I'm at a loss cause as much as i love jess and rory I can't let go of logan and rory either. I know there's obvious flaws with my choice but I suppose my question is why we all ship different couples in any TV universe? I love how articulate you are so figured you could explain it? Maybe? No pressure hehe.
Hey there, nonnie!
You’re right in saying that wasn’t my major; it was English/Spanish. However, seeing as I’m a writer, a voracious reader, an inquisitive and introspective thinker (let’s be real: I get lost in my own head constantly; it’s ridiculous) as well as an unapologetic studier of literature and life, I have to admit that human psychology is a subject that’s always been of vast interest to me. I’m so endlessly fascinated by the multitude of things that make us who we are. From where we’re from, to the languages we speak, to what we know, what we hope to learn so we can grow, to the good or bad or plain weird experiences that shape us, to the things we like or dislike and whether or not we can articulate why, etc.--it’s such a complex and often contradictory thing. Like, how can I not want to sink into it with analytical teeth? Sifting through it all with a fine-toothed comb? IT’S IMPOSSIBLE. I’m always stuck in the throes of some psychological question.
The world is a well brimming over with such lovely distinction, with so much tangled singularity, that I feel like I’m stuck in this perpetual stasis of wonder, you know? Consciously I realize that I’ll never be privy to all the pieces of the puzzle but that doesn’t mean I don’t yearn to collect as many of them as I can find.
Idk. The point I‘m trying to make is that there’s nothing I love more than sitting down somewhere so I can observe nature, people, my surroundings. There’s such sweet satisfaction I derive from being able to ponder through questions - big, small, trivial, or existential - and it doesn’t matter a whit whether or not I decide to voice them out loud. Not to pun Pacey Witter here or anything but the simple act, the simple freedom, of giving myself leave to think and analyze is enough for me. 😂
To try and answer your question, I think the most concise all around cliché way would be to say that shipping is subjective. More specifically, though, I’d argue that our preferences for certain characters/ships tie into our own personal psychologies, and since, as humans, those are built into an elaborate tapestry that can parallel as much as they can oppose in our own psyche, then of course it would follow that it’d lead to intricacy in the shipping domain as well. None of us are wholly alike. None of us are simple, either. We can’t be because we all have our own individual thoughts, our own individual feelings, our own individual journeys. So while a point of relation may overlap in spots with another person’s, it’s only natural that it’ll diverge in a myriad of others just the same. And that’s totally okay! It’s why people are never boring. It’s why there’s no universal agreement over one ship, over one character vs. the other because we’re all responding to our own cues, our own histories, our own triggers or attractions.
All of it is embedded in who we are, and sometimes, what we wish we could be if only we weren’t inhibited by other forces. There’s also a tendency to gravitate toward things/people we’d never want to encounter in our own day-to-day lives but are fun to imagine nonetheless. So why stop? Why not indulge our fancies? Let our imaginations run free!
It’s more about the possibility than the reality anyway. They’re interesting to us BECAUSE we’re not like them, BECAUSE we’ll never experience that dynamic, BECAUSE it’s out of the ordinary. We want a “taste of the other side” without having to crossover ourselves. There’s as much of an allure to the unfamiliar as there is to the familiar. And fiction is a fantastic medium because it allows you to think about how it’d feel to shed your own skin, be someone else, do something different, all without needing to leave your seat or change who you already are. You just get to imagine. Wonder. Analyze all the nuances, all the subtleties. And that’s enough; it’s enough.
Mind you, I can’t speak for anyone but myself here.
I know that my relationship with fictional characters is juxtaposed. Messy. Downright illogical at times. There may be a character I love because she possesses qualities I have, recognize in myself, or flat-out lack; there may be another character I hate for the exact same reasons. Or vice versa. The same goes for ships. There are tropes that I return to again and again (friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, forbidden love, opposites attract, etc.) for a variety of reasons. Some of which are more subconscious than conscious. Or, you know, it might be as simple as me finding a pairing interesting because it’s so UNLIKE me, so unlike anything I’d ever want that I’m like “hey, let me zip up and try it on for size” because it’s cool to see things from a different point of view.
We all do it. Imagination and creativity are at the bedrock of what make us human.
I also understand that my personal experiences and attributes play a big part in why I’m engaged by some storylines but disconnected from others, though it doesn’t add up to a perfect formula every time. Nor will it. I’m a complicated gal so my shipping preferences are bound to be complicated as well. Not to mention evolving...and evolving constantly.
I imagine it’s likely the same with everyone else.
Also, there’s no rule that says you have to let go of one ship in order to still love the other. You don’t have to choose between them. You don’t have to elevate one over the other, either. For me, it just so happens that Rory and Jess are OTP over Rory and Logan (though I do thoroughly ship/enjoy them as a couple); but that doesn’t mean it has to be the same for you. If you don’t want to let go, then don’t. Nobody has the right to try control what you do or think. We all have our own preferences because we have personal psychologies coming at them, attaching to the ships in our own subjective ways. Heck, we might not even know what they all are. Isn’t that great?
But, hey, who cares so long as we’re having a blast shipping our ships hard, right? ;)
#anonymous#replies#the loveliest of lovely people#ashlee bree talks psychology of shipping preferences#so i feel like i just babbled a bunch#without getting to the point i'd hoped to make#except now i'm tired and can't think of what else i'd intended to add lol#Anonymous

body language and subtext of communication beyond the actual words is fascinating.
beyond explicit consent, in relationships (and sex) there is trust. and trust is weird because trust is based on communication and communication is usually about the non-verbal side, the background buzz of emotions that many people won’t discuss explicitly and which define everything even if a lot of people don’t even consciously know how to interpret them.
and it’s honestly really hard to put down into words and most people who are good at it can’t see it in an analytical sense well enough to do so so most descriptions of Events involving consent really leave out the important parts.
a good author can do so. they do so by starting off with a sense of What Is Going On and then figuring out how to evoke that sense in the reader with all the tools at their disposal. it’s ethereal and almost magical and I will absolutely accept the word aura used for social things because social dynamics are so corporeal you can almost visibly see feel and hear them.
but for all but the most gifted, fully communicating what an event felt like without either gross factual error or losing the potency of it can be a desperate effort. and how much harder to do so including the perspectives of everyone present?
it’s easy to reject all of this for being subjective - what matters is what happened, not what was perceived. but what was perceived is a signal, and with mutual awareness and a tight feedback loop it is possible to communicate a lot of information very fast and that’s what people do. a fleeting expression and its reaction. like two satellite modems choosing compatible modulation and encryption. the events and words and movements don’t even matter much anymore, they’re just the medium by which information is transferred over the otherworldly link; the only thing that is necessary for the most innocent gesture to cause cataclysmic damage is that one or both of you know or believe you know what the code really means.

Lyric Comic Q&A
So it turns out when you work on a project for half a year, you get a lot of Thoughts and want to express them whether people are actually curious or not. Without further ado, your un-requested Birdmen Lyric Comic Q&A
(Warning: I’m long winded)
*Why a Lyric Comic?
Dude, lyric comics are cool. I’ve always been fascinated by the beautiful, multifaceted artistic experience they provide, because of my love for music and art. Furthermore, I am often plagued by cinematic trapped in my head, spurred by the movement and lyrics of my favorite songs. Since I have no means or experience in the animation category (which would free these phantoms from my head) the lyric comic was a godsend of a medium for this inspired idea of mine. Kiki-kit of the Gravity Falls fandom and Tides-miraculous’ lyric comic in the Miraculous Ladybug are my main inspirations, I’ve adored their sense of motion and emotional savviness. It’s quite the powerful medium.
It’s also a good medium for me personally. I am a ‘looper’ with my music, allowing me to listen to something over and over without tiring. This is useful in the drafting stages! I loved the challenge (though I definitely didn’t anticipate it’d take this long).
*Why this song?
“Out of Mind” was one of those songs that spoke to me, in an overly cathartic, heart-yearning-- almost funnily sardonic ways. Birdmen being on the brain, I started to easily see how much the singers voice reflected that bombastic frustration our Eishi is so known for. The Pre-Chorus “Are you kidding me?” speaks to me the most, reminding me of his cry of frustration during his first blackout, screaming against his fate as he fell from the sky (this exact image did not make the final cut in the end, but I certainly vied for it until other themes overtook it-- let’s face it, there are many screaming Eishi’s to choose from).
This period of time between Takayama’s disappearance and the inevitable reunion is super intriguing to me. Eishi’s in the role of the heartbroken singer, hopelessly betrayed and unable to get over the good thing they had.
*Breakdown the story:
The progression goes like this:
Eishi’s loneliness consumes the first verse, Takayama’s empty seat, Eishi standing alone… all the while peppered with Takayama’s broken promise, which culminates with Eishi’s defiant Death Tweet. The Refrain then serves as these hallmark moments that define them. This is what they had. Every rescue, every proclamation or venomous defying of fate-- it’s what made them. And you’d have to be out of your mind to think that these moments could be forgotten.
Verse 2 is all about that shift in Eishi to follow him. Wistful memories drive Eishi as he chooses to leave and depart from everything he knows, just to get him back. Meanwhile, that opinion of Takayama is still weighed down by that grating irritation (like hell he’s in touch reality, how could he do this?) culminating to his call for him in the Himalayas. The Refrain fires again with the same point as the last but this time I tried to go for a more fervent angle, some of the scenes actually focus on Takayama’s feelings for Eishi and ultimately the pull they have towards each other.
The Bridge is where things get desperate. The moments in the manga where Eishi is in physical pain because of the Whiteout shake me so much. It reminds me of a straight up panic attack. I let this crescendo with the music, making the black void swallow the chaos in a quick snap. Building to the final chorus.
The whiteout is special because Eishi both yearns after this figment emotionally (his friendship with Takayama) and intellectually (what the hell is it and what does it mean?). It represents his unique position in the realm of the story being able to see it, but it ultimately captures the almost divine force behind the relationship of Eishi and Takayama. The outro then brings us back to Eishi failed call at the Himalaya’s, the whiteout ripping him up and forcing Takayama to save him. All the while calling back to that first interaction between them. A mysterious moment that obviously held more weight than any world shaking rescue. And I cap it off with a warmer depiction of their reunion.
*Are you shipping in this comic?
Despite the romantic song, my affections for the pairing, and any other subtext I’ve provided, I went in with the project with a platonic angle. Like I’m not lying. I’m on the ace spectrum or whatever so I kind of interpret every strong bond in the same realm. So that means, if you think it’s a romantic interpretation-- then you’re right. If you think it’s not, you’re also right. Love comes in many forms. Have fun kids.
*What was your process?
Storyboarding
Listen over and over and figure out where to phrase the panels. I then divided the lyrics up accordingly in a draft and reviewed the pacing over and over again. Does it flow? How many words would comfortably fit with each panel?
Determined the thematic arc. At this point I already had a few anchoring moments so I wrote a description of the panel in the draft. I went with the formula of Verses= move the ideas, Refrain= emotional accents, and the Bridge is like… the climax with an epilogue of an outro. This was tricky step. I debated a lot of ideas and some lyrics didn’t feel like a good fit until I really sat on it for a while.
Fill in the draft. This is where I sketch the general shape of panels. This is also where I look at the gestalt of the thing and make sure the composition is easy on the eyes. I tried to make it dynamic and zig-zaggy so as not to be boring. This is the step where one gets really excited about the project. Cause it’s no longer trapped in your head.
Sketching
Gathered references. Surfed the web, made some myself.
Made time to sketch, I did a lot of them at my summer job, made sure to draw about 2 or 3 a day. I had the time then because it was before I took on my day job. I was very surprised to find that I rarely went back to edit a picture or dispose of a draft. I went through with the mantra that I was going to finish the picture no matter what.
Stayed disciplined with said time. I would not let myself take a break from drawing because half the success came from the fact that I was on a roll.
When I finished them I then went through the process of scanning them (my scanner broke between the first 20 panels so RIP)
Coloring Stage
...Good lord. This is where I probably went the most wrong. Make sure you have a good process in place before starting out this stage. I was not one to digital art much as of late so my familiarity with my program was lackluster (and it also is literally the worst program in the world), and my laptop couldn’t handle more than 10 panels. So hurray for a very desperate fix. I did everything from my brothers computer, in his room. Sometimes at terrible hours because that's the only time I’m home.
Color planning. I rushed this process but I pulled up the textures and color pallets and reference images from internet searches and stock piled them. While planning I approximated the overall ‘tone’ of each pane; (is it a dark shade, a light shade, blue, or red in hue…) and then I adjusted that so the colors didn’t repeat or blend unless the panels where connected in the same scene. There was a lot of problem solving in the actual coloring so some of this was not as smooth and I paid for it later.
Sketch Editing. I was able to go back in, move around things and edit certain aspects of the sketch without compromising the entire work. This was a life saver.
Actually coloring. Because I color sketches it’s actually a painstaking process where I can’t use a wand or a fill. I’m not familiar with certain masking and coloring methods that would have sped the process up and I wanted to be consistent. This would take 3 to 5 hours a panel which I would do in small bursts.
Type-setting
Deciding font. I was hunting around for a good font for ages until I just decided… to use my own handwriting. This meant that I had to makes sure my tablet pressure specs were up to date and I had to practice my style. It’s not perfect but its cool.
Apply font to panel. There were moments when I literally said ‘screw it’ and left my handwriting a little more sloppy than standard.
Consultation. I worked with my graphic designer friend on improving the placement of text and the color choices. This was an interesting step she is a saint.
Finalize
Every single panel is extremely large. I had to resize each one. Before this I had many tests in the drafts to see how certain sizes would load or format.
*Will you make another?
Probably. Like, there is nothing more satisfying than getting something stuck in your head out of it. I have a lot of tunes I am fond of but barely any qualify for lyric comics (need to have a good pace, easy to latch on musical phrases, thematic content that works etc.) The fandom is important too. Now that I think about it I have storyboards for an old DCMK ‘lyric comic’ idea to Imogen Heap’s “A-ha” (it was like some hidden dark side!au shit I still come back to it). I can’t let my interest wan or it straight up dies. Birdmen is a really unique series for me because its held on for a remarkable amount of time and strongly at that.
Fun Facts:
I colored a total 77 panels, 11 of which were scraped versions of the core 66 because perfectionist tendencies.
It took me 3 months to sketch all the panels out, sometimes drawing 3 a day. I would often cradle my sleeping kitten while I drew.
Panel 54-- the final chorus, whiteout splash page-- took three days to draw. At first it was two pages taped together, then it was three. I had my friend mend the images together into a massive pic for me to color, then break it apart for blog distribution. The full version is used in her video edit of the lyric comic.
I didn’t use pressure sensitivity on my tablet until I got to the last chunk. RIP
It usually took me over a day to do one picture.
I do not have a computer in my room that utilizes the art program I need. I literally did every panel after #10 in my brothers room. Sometimes hella late at night too. Props to my generous brother, he tells me he likes the company.
I took a few notable breaks. All of Inktober was used on the art challenge. The weeks leading up to Birdmen Week. And at least half of the Christmas season was spent on coloring hiatus.
I like adding a ring around the pupils of the seraph eyes. This is not canon, but an error that I really liked. You can see it as a sort of glow.
I am having my friend edit the panels into a video for your convenience. I have no idea how long it will take but I’m tired.

4 Key Principles of Web Design Basics
No wonder this is both our passion and our job! But we realize that we have never taken the time to define with you the basics and the main principles of web design.
It was an error (which we will hasten to correct) and here is why:
When we first got interested in creating websites, we were only concerned with one thing: the technical aspects. We had to learn to master the key software and the different languages (HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript) to create a site. The rest was mostly a matter of feeling.
We love discovering new sites, adapting or inventing new presentations for our creations. So we started to work instinctively, for ourselves and for clients.
But when we trained to become web designers, we learned the fundamentals of this profession and it gave us a framework, thanks to which we progressed quickly. We realized that for years we had ignored the main principles of the field that fascinated us.
And that had slowed us down a lot in our learning.
To avoid the same pitfall, we will share with you 4 key principles of web design basics.
What is web design exactly?
But above all and to avoid possible confusion, we would like to define, what is web design?
In the minds of many people, a web designer is someone who creates websites. Of course, there is a good deal of truth in this idea. But it must be specified.
In reality, web design is only part of the process of creating a site.
In a medium or large web agency, the web designer is therefore only a link in the human chain that produces websites. He will analyze customer demand and needs to translate them graphically.
He uses tools like Illustrator and Photoshop to create the graphic charter and the models of the site. Once he has produced a model for each important page (home, product, contact, etc.), he hands over to the integrator.
The latter will take care of transforming the visual design into a real website. The integrator, therefore, uses different tools.
It is he who will configure the CMS (content management system, for example, WordPress), produce the code (CSS, HTML, PHP) and upload the site images (logo, navigation buttons, banner, etc.) so that everything corresponds exactly to the result expected by the web designer.
Certain commands will also involve the intervention of a web developer. This will code advanced and personalized tools (a plugin, for example) for the specific needs of the client.
In other words, the web design concerns only the graphic design of the site, while integration and development constitute the technical part.
Of course, in small structures like Webchefz, one person will often manage all these aspects. But it is important to clearly distinguish each phase if you want to create a relevant website.
I therefore first proceed with the graphic design of the models in Illustrator and Photoshop (web design part) and only then we switch to WordPress (integration part).
And so we are going to talk to you today about the first phase of our work.
Four principles to govern them all
Obviously, we will not be able to deal here with all aspects of web design. But four elements seem essential to us to know to approach the graphic creation of websites. Here they are!
1. Grid systems
Since the invention of the codex in the first century of our history, the grid determines the way in which we read. Thousands of variations, involving different arrangements of rows and columns, have appeared over time.
Think about how the text and pictures are arranged in books, newspapers, and magazines. These systems have been ported more or less directly to the web and they are effective.
It can be tempting, when you have a creative temper, to try to avoid the principle of the grid. Many attempts have been made.
But the reality is there: most of these sites, sometimes very beautiful and original, have few visits. We sometimes come to see them for the pleasure of the eyes, but we are not very interested in their content.
And for good reason. Despite their visual qualities, they are mostly illegible.
Today, it is more common for visits to come from browsers on smartphones and tablets than from desktop computers. The question of “responsive design” – the design adapted to make browsing pleasant on small screens – is unavoidable.
This does not call into question the principle of the grid system. On the contrary:
To make our lives easier, a large number of pre-fabricated grid systems have been created; they are responsive, compatible with most web languages and generally free to download.
Among the most popular are 34grid, Flexbox or responsive grid system.
Of course, if you have an adventurous temperament or feel that your project must call for a truly unique solution, you can create your own!
Personally, we don’t use a specific grid system (Photoshop has basic alignment tools). But we keep the fundamentals in mind. Align, structure, order the elements in the form of a grid, in order to make them more legible and harmonious.
2. Visual hierarchy
The visual hierarchy is a vast subject that deserves an article in its own right, but we will content it here with recalling the basics.
Applying a visual hierarchy in your web pages consists of:
rank the information to be transmitted in order of importance
make them clear to the reader by adopting visual enhancement strategies
To start, you will have to choose the place on the page where to place the most important elements.
In most cultures, reading is done from left to right and from bottom to top. We also know that within these parameters, reading a document calls for much more complex rules.
This is especially true on the internet, where visitors “scan” pages much more than they “read” them.
Good websites take into account these advanced reading patterns by placing important elements, such as the logo, call to action (call to action buttons) and keyframes along the axes usually traversed by users’ eyes.
But the location is not everything.
The visual hierarchy employs complementary strategies to highlight your key elements:
Font size
Choice of the police themselves
Font fat
Element color
Spacing (a well-demarcated element of the content is better noticed)
Short and punchy text, easy to read at a glance
Dynamic element (video / GIF)
Of course, everything is in measure!
Visitors know the codes intuitively and do not like hyper-aggressive designs.
The bold, round font in the middle of the page with good ventilation will send a strong message. No need to insert it into a huge flashing button.
3. Choose the right web fonts
The term “police for the web” already sounds like an anachronism.
But in the early days of the internet, browsers only offered a very limited amount of fonts – typically, those that were installed on the word processor on the computer.
And if you went off the beaten track, some visitors saw a series of random symbols appear on the screen…
Today, it is still true that some fonts are better managed than others by browsers. But the number of web fonts has exploded. Web designers are sometimes even overwhelmed by the choices available to them!
Free web fonts have increased in proportion. You can easily find them using services like Google Fonts.
For certain professional sites with specific needs, a paid policy will be more indicated. But to start with, a free policy is often enough.
To help you choose your fonts, here are some rules to know.
Serif fonts are for titles only
In web design, Serif (serif) fonts are rather reserved for titles. Indeed, they are more difficult to read when they are small. The body text (paragraph content) should always be Sans Serif.
Limit the number of fonts
To improve visual consistency and avoid sending too many contradictory signals to your visitors, we advise you to strongly limit the number of different fonts for your entire site.
Two or three policies will be sufficient most of the time. Beyond that, you risk losing your visitors – and you with it!
Opt for lightness
Consider mobile devices that may have limited speed depending on the location. Some policies are much heavier than others and this is a criterion that we often forget to take into account.
So try to find light, easy-to-load fonts to make navigation easier.
4. Images and colors
The principles of choosing images and colors are not specific to the web. In fact, they apply in the same way on all supports (print or web).
An essential thing to remember: do not overdo it!
Here too, you have to know how to limit yourself to a few key colors and well-chosen images in the right locations. Say little, but say it well.
For colors:
Minimalist color palette
Focus on two or three main colors, which work well together. They will have to echo the branding of the brand or the project. You will use them to highlight important areas, as mentioned in the “Visual hierarchy” section.
With a little control, you will be able to look for up to two complementary colors (generally variants quite close to the main ones) to bring a little relief to the secondary elements.
Think of color blindness
5% of the male population is color blind to varying degrees.
This is an element rarely taken into consideration… However, if your target is mixed and even more if it is strongly masculine, it should not be forgotten!
If so, here are some basic tips:
Increase color saturation
Increase the contrast between similar colors
Increase the brightness of light colors and decrease that of dark colors
Give more importance to shapes and separators in your visual strategy
For images:
Limit movement to the essentials
Boosting a site is important. This gives it life and positively inspires your visitors. But reserve the movement for a limited number of elements (here again, see the section “Visual hierarchy”).
A good video, if it is relevant, will have positive effects provided that it is highlighted properly and well inserted in the page.
But avoid giving in to the temptation of the flashy. One dynamic element at a time, at most. Reserve them for key locations on your site.
Even gifs are very questionable if they are not used with the greatest care. To keep your consistency and not disturb your visitors, keep control of the movement.
Choose your images carefully
Do not use the images simply to fill the space. Visitors will notice this immediately and lose much of their interest in your page.
Instead, choose your images carefully. Use them to communicate useful information. Ideally, each illustration should clarify or complement your words.
In any case, avoid any image without a direct and obvious link with your text.
Think about image rights
Pay attention to the rights of the images you use.
It is still too common today for professional images to be reproduced without authorization and without credit. However, there are many stocks of photos free of rights or requiring only from you a link to the author and the site.
For keyframes, you can consider buying a few photos from paid stocks like Shutterstock.
The latter are often of excellent quality and much better targeted on a variety of subjects. This is worth it for the important images of your pro site, those linked to your key pages (it will generally cost you no more than a few tens of euros in all).
And don’t forget that you can be sued if you don’t respect image rights, especially if you make money (directly or indirectly) from your site.
Limit the size of images
Even more than fonts, images and videos are often the biggest problems with site loading time. Again, consider mobile devices, which will likely account for most of your traffic.
Use simple and punchy images, as you will always have to limit their size and resolution.
Principles of web design: the last word

State of true innovation [SOTI]
Last night, I stumbled across the following video via Youtube:
Internet50: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Internet on Oct. 29, 2019
It appears to be a day long conference that occurs in different segments. It isn’t actually 9+ hours long as there’s this cool neuro inspired (I am assuming) animation that’s displayed during the break.
On a side note and personally speaking, I am always fascinated when I learn more about the work that some of the folks did during the 60′s (and earlier). In particular, the ideas and inventions that individuals like J.C.R LickLider, Ivan Sutherland, Douglas Engelbart and others had come up with. It’s pretty unreal to realize that some of the technologies that we are working on taking to the next level, today were pioneered during the 60′s.
Since this blogpost is about the state of real/true innovation and it seems rather simplistic for me to categorize ‘true/real’ innovation as something that isn’t incremental innovation. But that’s exactly what I am going to do.
Around the 6:51:2x minute mark, a debate is hosted between the following individuals and (the gist of) the stance that they took:
Robert Metcalfe [Contributions towards the development of ARPAnet, Co-invented the ethernet, Co-founded 3com]
Stance: That we’ve seen more of true innovation. Period.
Peter Thiel [Paypal, FoundersFund, Palantir, Clarium Capital]
Stance: Since the 60′s we’ve seen more innovation in the world of bits and not as much innovation in the world of atoms.
It doesn’t make sense for me to offer commentary or critique on the discussion that had occurred. That being said, taking care of, maintaining and upgrading the mechanism via which civilization thrives is an important subject.
From my vantage point the future looks like a pretty awesome place to be. But, I grew up with technology around me and I try and keep up-to-date (surface level) with the what is happening in the world of computation and how these breakthroughs will impact all the other areas.
Personally speaking and to elaborate on my set of biases:
I am really hopeful of the future. Plus, as a singularitarian and having run a number of scenarios in my head, I can only see really really awesome things happening in the future. Note: I do not have the mathematical ability to be able to plot certain outcomes. And/or to be in a position to be able to verify existing models. But the information that I have reviewed since the year 2014, leads me to attach a high level of probability, that during our lifetimes, a sentience modelled in software (or maybe some other medium) will emerge. I am not going to expand upon this subject matter right now, as that’s another blogpost.
Plus, I’ve spent a fair bit of time following individuals like Peter Diamandis, Ray Kurzweil, some of Steven Pinker’s work. Plus, being intrigued with the data that individuals like the late Hans Rosling had to share.
If the data posits that the world is getting better by some significant margin, then there clearly is some dissonance with so many people stuck in cycles of learned helplessness. Plus, I am sure that there are those who exploit these conditions for promoting their agenda.
Coming back to Thiel and Metcalfe, there were other sub-topics of discussion, in addition to the overall discussion (see above - towards the beginning). The sub-topics revolved around (in random order):
Scientific misconduct/academic dishonesty.
Regulation.
Wages. Stagnant wages according to Thiel.
The kinds of industries that we should have seen more of vs only seeing innovation in the world of bits. (Which is and has historically been a core argument that Thiel likes to drive).
Now, if you go to the Youtube page for this very video , then you’ll notice some of my views on the overall topic and the sub-topics, in the comments section on Youtube.
In this blogpost on Tumblr, I’ve already highlighted some of my biases. But a portion of my psyche does wonder if we:
Do take growth for granted.
If things may have been different if we had seen more innovation across other verticals. But, I balance this sub-thought with the reality that ‘information’ has been the new domain of Physics (in a John Archibald Wheeler sense). So, it makes rational sense that breakthroughs in the domain of Physics (Information) is/are what has driven a big chunk of technological progress.
Sometimes I wonder if civilization is a giant function (comprised of many many other nested functions).
I don’t mean this in the sense of the ‘Architect’ from the Matrix Trilogy (movies). As in, a person or a group of people who edit/tinker/tweak/introduce functions and there is a direct impact on civilization. No. But, I think that may be the route to go in the future and specially as we start making use of more and more detailed and expansive simulations in order to optimize different sub-functions.
Rather, it doesn’t appear very difficult to be able to quantify the individual needs of an agent (human/cyborg ++) and then roll them up into a function. And then be able to quantify the carrying capacity with respect to the total impact on the ecology (balanced or not).
I guess, we can also ask simpler questions. Including but not limited to:
If things are indeed getting better, then why is nationalism rising? What does this posit?
Scientific discovery powers everything, including prosperity. “Science is the engine of prosperity” - Michio Kaku. But, as a species we do not really seem to be focusing on ensuring that cycles of basic and advanced research are continually enabled. Thus, putting at risk our quality of life (in the future) and the quality of life of our children.
What set of investments need to be made, in terms of enriching the culture.
There is also the important question of surveillance and how pretty much all nation states are engaged in such activities. There are questions with respect to rights and freedoms. There is the question of ensuring intellectual property rights, in this very reality when larger institutions (in size and complexity) have the ability to be able to peer anywhere.
The role that effective immigration has played and as it relates to sustaining successive cycles of innovation.
There are all of these simpler questions and more that we can and probably should answer.
Overall, this is a very important discussion. But, I don’t think that we have begun the process of clearly articulating (in a nimble fashion) the right incentive structures for others to:
Join this discussion and help re-define the narrative.
Only when the problem has been defined in a richer context, being as close to the truth as possible. Only then can we begin to see the emergence of ideas (in a distributed fashion) that will help bring back stability (in a real and/or perceived sense).
My uneducated guess is that there are probably anywhere from 50 to 500 people across the entire planet that are thinking about this topic of true innovation. Like actually studying this development as a discipline on a full-time basis. And this number may or may not not include the individuals who are actively supporting innovators, researchers and academics driving true/cutting edge research and turning that research into awesome products and services.
The incentive structure is an important conversation. It’s a conversation that can evolve in a healthy/co-operative and dynamic sense. For example and this is just one idea, imagine 1000 people around the world making a pledge that they are going to make a real/quantifiable impact in an area. Next, what could these 1000 individuals learn from institutions that have championed the processes via which more true innovation occurs. Including but not limited to the Gates Foundation, DARPA, USAF, Proctor and Gamble, Specific institutions across Silicon Valley. (That’ just off the top of my mind). But, I guess there is a foreign policy angle to what I have mentioned.
Right now, very few individual seem to be engaged in this conversation. The conversations that do occur, happen in a format that can best we described as my set of claims against yours. The outcome doesn’t seem healthy. For example and let’s go back to the conversation between Metcalfe and Thiel. At one point Thiel categorizes the entire academic base across the US as corrupt. This isn’t the first time Thiel has done so. But, if change is what one is after, then important it is to first seek to understand.
It’s hard to envision how cycles of basic research are going to be sustained, in a reality whereby there isn’t much of an academic base to begin with. And/or it isn’t properly funded. And/or some governing body will pick and chooses what kind of research ought to be conducted.
Next, we don’t have this real-time ability to be able to check the claims. (median income is falling, income is stagnant overall in this region e.t.c). Although I think, Steve Ballmer helped start USAfacts.org and more projects like these are needed in order to be able to enable a more transparent government and make use of the data the government already has in it’s databases.
Maybe the identification of a certain number of agents of good character, who are ethical in a universal sense is what is required. Next, enabling these very agents.

Moebius’ 18 Tips for Artists
1) When you draw, you must first cleanse yourself of deep feelings, like hate, happiness, ambition, etc.
2) It’s very important to educate your hand. Make it achieve a level of high obedience so that it will be able to properly and fully express your ideas. But be very careful of trying to obtain too much perfection, as well as too much speed as an artist. Perfection and speed are dangerous — as are their opposites. When you produce drawings that are too quick or too loose, besides making mistakes, you run the risk of creating an entity without soul or spirit.
3) Knowledge of perspective is of supreme importance. Its laws provide a good, positive way to manipulate or hypnotize your readers.
4) Another thing to embrace with affection is the study of [the] human body — it’s anatomy, positions, body types, expressions, construction, and the differences between people.
Drawing a man is very different from drawing a woman. With males, you can be looser and less precise in their depiction; small imperfections can often add character. Your drawing of a woman, however, must be perfect; a single ill-placed line can dramatically age her or make her seem annoying or ugly. Then, no one buys your comic!
For the reader to believe your story, your characters must feel as if they have a life and personality of their own.
Their physical gestures should seem to emanate from their character’s strengths, weaknesses and infirmities. The body becomes transformed when it is brought to life; there is a message in its structure, in the distribution of its fat, in each muscle and in every wrinkle, crease or fold of the face and body. It becomes a study of life.
5) When you create a story, you can begin it without knowing everything, but you should make notes as you go along regarding the particulars of the world depicted in your story. Such detail will provide your readers with recognizable characteristics that will pique their interest.
When a character dies in a story, unless the character has had his personal story expressed some way in the drawing of his face, body and attire, the reader will not care; your reader won’t have any emotional connection.
Your publisher might say, “Your story has no value; there’s only one dead guy — I need twenty or thirty dead guys for this to work.” But that is not true; if the reader feels the dead guy or wounded guys or hurt guys or whomever you have in trouble have a real personality resulting from your own deep studies of human nature — with an artist’s capacity for such observation — emotions will surge.
By such studies you will develop and gain attention from others, as well as a compassion and a love for humanity.
This is very important for the development of an artist. If he wants to function as a mirror of society and humanity, this mirror of his must contain the consciousness of the entire world; it must be a mirror that sees everything.
6) Alejandro Jodorowsky says I don’t like drawing dead horses. Well, it is very difficult.
It’s also very difficult to draw a sleeping body or someone who has been abandoned, because in most comics it’s always action that is being studied. It’s much easier to draw people fighting — that’s why Americans nearly always draw superheroes. It’s much more difficult to draw people that are talking, because that’s a series of very small movements — small, yet with real significance.
His counts for more because of our human need for love or the attention of others. It’s these little things that speak of personality, of life. Most superheroes don’t have any personality; they all use the same gestures and movements.
7) Equally important is the clothing of your characters and the state of the material from which it was made.
These textures create a vision of your characters’ experiences, their lives, and their role in your adventure in a way where much can be said without words. In a dress there are a thousand folds; you need to choose just two or three — don’t draw them all. Just make sure you choose the two or three good ones.
8) The style, stylistic continuity of an artist and its public presentation are full of symbols; they can be read just like a Tarot deck. I chose my name “Moebius” as a joke when I was twenty-two years old — but, in truth, the name came to resonate with meaning. If you arrive wearing a T-shirt of Don Quixote, that tells me who you are. In my case, making a drawing of relative simplicity and subtle indications is important to me.
9) When an artist, a real working artist, goes out on the street, he does not see things the same way as “normal” people. His unique vision is crucial to documenting a way of life and the people who live it.
10) Another important element is composition. The compositions in our stories should be studied because a page or a painting or a panel is a face that looks at the reader and speaks to him. A page is not just a succession of insignificant panels. There are panels that are full. Some that are empty. Others are vertical. Some horizontal. All are indications of the artist’s intentions. Vertical panels excite the reader. Horizontals calm him. For us in the Western world, motion in a panel that goes from left to right represents action heading toward the future. Moving from right to left directs action toward the past. The directions we indicate represent a dispersion of energy. An object or character placed in the center of a panel focuses and concentrates energy and attention. These are basic reading symbols and forms that evoke in the reader a fascination, a kind of hypnosis. You must be conscious of rhythm and set traps for the reader to fall into so that, when he falls, he gets lost, allowing you to manipulate and move him inside your world with greater ease and pleasure. That’s because what you have created is a sense of life. You must study the great painters, especially those who speak with their paintings. Their individual painting schools or genres or time periods should not matter. Their preoccupation with physical as well as emotional composition must be studied so that you learn how their combination of lines works to touch us directly within our hearts.
11) The narration must harmonize with the drawings. There must be a visual rhythm created by the placement of your text. The rhythm of your plot should be reflected in your visual cadence and the way you compress or expand time. Like a filmmaker, you must be very careful in how you cast your characters and in how you direct them. Use your characters or “actors” like a director, studying and then selecting from all of your characters’ different takes.
12) Beware of the devastating influence of North American comic books. The artists in Mexico seem to only study their surface effects: a little bit of anatomy mixed with dynamic compositions, monsters, fights, screaming and teeth. I like some of that stuff too, but there are many other possibilities and expressions that are also worthy of exploration.
13) There is a connection between music and drawing. The size of that connection depends upon your personality and what’s going on at that moment. For the last ten years I’ve been working in silence; for me, there is music in the rhythm of my lines. Drawing at times is a search for discoveries. A precise, beautifully executed line is like an orgasm!
14) Color is a language that the graphic artist uses to manipulate his reader’s attention as well as to create beauty. There is objective and subjective color. The emotional states of the characters can change or influence the color from one panel to the next, as can place and time of day. Special study and attention must be paid to the language of color.
15) At the beginning of an artist’s career, he should principally involve himself in the creation of very high quality short stories. He has a better chance (than with long format stories) of successfully completing them, while maintaining a high standard of quality. It will also be easier to place them in a book or sell them to a publisher.
16) There are times when we knowingly head down a path of failure, choosing the wrong theme or subject for our capabilities, or choosing a project that is too large, or an unsuitable technique. If this happens, you must not complain later.
17) When new work has been sent to an editor and it receives a rejection, you should always ask for and try to discover the reasons for the rejection. By studying the reasons for our failure, only then can we begin to learn. It is not about struggle with our limitations, with the public or with the publishers. One should treat it with more of an aikido approach. It is the very strength and power of our adversary that is used as the key to his defeat.
18) Now it is possible to expose our works to readers in every part of the planet. We must always keep aware of this. To begin with, drawing is a form of personal communication — but this does not mean that the artist should close himself off inside a bubble. His communication should be for those aesthetically, philosophically and geographically close to him, as well as for himself — but also for complete strangers. Drawing is a medium of communication for the great family we have not met, for the public and for the world.

Interestingly with Ford, Chevy is still in with no reservations on V8s for its full-measure pickups, however don't interpret this as meaning that the Silverado's motors are low-tech. The 5.3-and 6.2-liter V8s offered in the 2019 Silverado offer another fuel-sparing innovation that can close off seven chambers without a moment's delay. This framework is called Dynamic Fuel Management, and it's as intriguing as its name is exhausting. Jason Fenske of Engineering Explained handles Dynamic Fuel Management in his most recent video, clarifying how it works, and why particularly it spares fuel. In the Silverado's V8s, the greater part of the valves are appended to deactivation arms, which can be moved by a locking pin. With the locking pin pushed such a distance out, the valves work regularly, however when withdrawn, the valves are kept closed, adequately deactivating the barrel. The motor administration framework chooses what number of barrels are deactivated and when this happens. The favorable position here is a lessening in pumping misfortunes. Fundamentally, it's more proficient to utilize one barrel to make a specific measure of energy than it is to have numerous do a similar work. We haven't yet determined the new Silverado, so we don't know how the framework functions in reality, yet it's as yet entrancing tech. Look at Fenske's recordings for a much more top to bottom clarification. The Silverado will likewise be accessible with an all-new Duramax 3.0L inline-six turbo-diesel. Chevrolet offers diesel motors in a greater number of portions and models than some other brand, including Equinox, Cruze, Colorado, Express, Silverado 1500, Silverado HD and up and coming Silverado medium-obligation models. The 5 Best PC Games Of 2017The 5 Best PC Games Of 2017video games
First-person shooters, survival-horror games, RPGs, adventure games, and real-time tactical strategy games; these are all genres that PC has used throughout its existence to solidify itself as one of gaming’s most popular platforms. If you love to play on PC, this was a good year, as 2017 offered mastercraft executions of every genre mentioned above. Each yielded an ambitious spirit, pushing forward its respective genre with fresh ideas and mechanics, while also expanding upon what has come before. In no particular order, here are our picks for the best PC games of 2017.
Total War: Warhammer II
[Read the Review]
Total War: Warhammer II is one of the most well-crafted strategy games in PC gaming history. With the second installment, developer The Creative Assembly has expanded the mechanics of the first, while still retaining its sandbox structure. At the same time, the game better utilizes its narrative, tapping into the decades of lore that the Warhammer franchise now consists of.
This sequel adds a sense of dynamism and urgency to a series where many players feel safe slowly creeping across the campaign map, knowing that even if their front line falls, their home cities are stoic and safe. In addition, the scale and enormity of its combat is unparalleled, especially in the Mortal Empires campaign, which combines everything from the first game with everything you see in Total War: Warhammer II. Battles are not long, arduous, drawn-out affairs, nor do they end too quickly for you to appreciate the size and force of what you’re seeing.
The addition of the Vortex campaign and a wider variety of quests far exceed the experience of the original. The game also expands the formula with numerous spells and new marching monsters and units, and the resulting concoction is a strategy game that both Warhammer and Total War fans are guaranteed to love.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
[Read the Review]
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice leverages the strengths of video games as a medium and delivers an experience that is unlike anything else released this year. It’s a bold game that explores mental health–specifically psychosis–through the lens of a character-action game wrapped in Norse mythology. The game tackles an important and often misunderstood illness, and allows you to better understand it through visual and aural presentation.
Developer Ninja Theory has a long history of developing action games that are fast and fluid in movement while also being mechanically deep and complex, but for Hellblade, the developer scaled this back somewhat. Playing Hellblade can feel rough and sluggish, but this feeds into the mind-state of its main character, Senua. Returning from self-imposed exile, the young Pict warrior grapples with her inner-demons as she attempts to save the soul of her lover, Dillon.
The act of fighting against demonic apparitions feels like a struggle, as Senua summons every ounce of energy in her body just to keep moving forward, one step at a time. And all the while voices in her head pull her in different directions, some guiding her, while others undermine and belittle her. The result is an experience that feels raw, unsettling, as well as frustrating and disempowering. It can be difficult to play but, ultimately, it’s also a unique and enlightening experience.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard marks a return to form for Capcom, which reconnected with its survival-horror roots to deliver a Resident Evil that is both modern and faithful to the series’ legacy.
The game casts aside the third-person perspective for first-person, and in doing so, ratchets up the nerve-wracking tension throughout the campaign. Crucially, however, it leans on the genre pillars that it both established and popularised; bullets and healing items are in short supply, and enemies require strategy and a steady hand to take down.
From the early moments of breathlessly running around the Baker home, hoping and praying not to cross paths with Jack, the psychotic patriarch of the family, to the nail-biting cat-and-mouse game in Marguerite’s bug-infested cabin, and the intense fight for survival at the end, Resident Evil 7 is edge-of-your-seat gaming at its finest.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus never lets you forget who you’re fighting, and why. Nazi brutality is on full display, from the blown-out, irradiated remains of Manhattan to each of the characters, who all carry mental scars if not physical ones. The far-future technology of the Nazi regime is exhilarating to partake in–high-powered laser weapons are exciting to use, after all–but it’s also a grotesque display of their ruthless subjugation of all corners of the world.
That said, a tongue-in-cheek tone reminiscent of Inglourious Basterds strikes the right balance with the game’s incredibly heavy subject matter. The New Colossus has a completely bonkers storyline, and it’s elevated by satisfying Nazi-killing action and a self-awareness of its own dark humor. It also manages to make combat exciting without becoming a power fantasy–it’s straight-up difficult, and its mechanical, heavily armored enemies can seem impossible to take down at times. But regardless of whether you take a stealthy or guns-blazing approach, you’ll be rewarded with a thrilling fight once you do emerge victorious.
The most memorable thing about The New Colossus, though, is its direction. Carefully choreographed cutscenes give more gravity to an already great cast of characters, and the timing of specific moments (all spoilers) makes them all the more impactful. Wolfenstein’s tense gameplay elevates this further by giving you the power to truly resist–and come out of each battle ready for another fight.
Divinity: Original Sin II
Divinity: Original Sin II snuck up on a lot of people, with buzz before it’s release just simmering under the surface of the gaming community. It wasn’t long after the game released that this wonderful RPG was on everyone’s lips. Fascinating stories of how parties and individuals alike were solving problems and conquering dungeons, secrets and tidbits and little “did you knows” were passed between wannabe adventurers like excited children in class.
The game’s story is compelling and involved, but it always encourages you to make it your own with a multitude of opportunities to experiment and choose your own path. Quests can be completed without blindly following objectives, murders can be solved by eating flesh, traps can be thwarted by talking with dogs, and quest givers can be spoken to by communicating with their ghosts. It’s the stuff CRPG lovers adore, dialed up to 11.
By far the biggest attraction of Divinity: Original Sin II is the incredible amount of freedom you get, but it helps that the game is built upon a foundation of expertly designed mechanics. Being able to build up your character’s abilities and equip them with numerous weapons continually fuels the desire to experiment and customize your party.
Divinity: Original Sin II is a massive accomplishment. It embodies everything that fans have come to adore about CRPGs, accommodating any and all inclinations you have to craft your own adventure. If there’s any game you should play on PC this year (or in the years to come) it’s Divinity: Original Sin II.
GameSpot will be unveiling its picks for the best games of the year throughout all of December. Check out our Best of 2017 hub for even more.
