cj and earth—ANTI-GOB AU!!!! [1/2]

this tumblr post is about anti-cj and anti-earth, it focuses on their relationship between one another :33 (their personalities will be focused on in the 2nd post). they are in my head a lot so they are more fleshed out than og cj and earth. also anti-earth + anti-cj can be written as a!earth and a!cj when i dont feel like writing the whole thing. read more…. official anti-cj and anti-earth designsss

in the original gob, cj and earth are rivals from highschool. we dont know when they initially met but that is all the information we know because it is kept vague. i wanted to make it so that cj and earth knew eachother even before highschool.

i had a headcanon since ~1 or 2 years ago that cj and earth would’ve been childhood friends before high school. i wanted to impliment that idea into this au of them because i feel like that fits with the opposite-swap theme of it all.

since it would be hard to write out their entire past, i decided to make a summarized timeline of events (combined with little doodles of their appearances that changed overtime!)

details i did not include (because the spaces between the landmarks were small) were:

-anti-earth’s parents divorce and he is left with his dad. once left with his dad, his father gets remarried. his new mother is very rich and thats why they leave home. the stress of experiencing the divorce and moving put him in a position where he didnt know whether or not to tell anti-cj. so he didnt. they were both so young at the time, and anti-cj thought the marriage was a good thing.

-the day anti-earth moved was over summer break. anti-cj didn’t know that he moved, so he walked over to his house to visit (as per usual). he saw the “for rent” sign and saw it as a joke. once knocking on the door several times he knew he was not there anymore. then on forward he had to enter middle school almost completely alone.

-once alone in middle school, without anti-earth, he felt more awkward socializing with others. he turned more and more quiet, turning himself into a mute. he began to self-teach himself sign language.

-anti-earth experiences abuse from his new mother once he moves.

-early in the show its not known by anyone else that a!cj and a!earth were previously childhood friends. its hinted at but never confirmed until later in the series

in original gob cj and earths relationship is more focused on the teenage highschool jock-and-nerd rival stereotype, and is more focused on their teenage years.

a!cj and a!earth’s relationships focus more on the childhood aspect of their relationship because thats how their relationship started. their relationship is focused more on childhood years/nicer points in time and never moving on from them.

think of it like “were my childhood years really my happiest?” (because that is how i imagine it)

anyway i think thats it! thank you so much for reading!! (after cj and earth ill probably write about mattress/tv because they swap in this au and are essentially the hosts. cj and earth are first written because they are the primary reason why i made this au, and because they are obviously meant to be opposites and serve as the perfect example)
