I am a parent and that has given me all sorts of strength I would not have discovered had I not become a mother. As a tree hugging, dirt worshipping pagan, I can relate to achieving strength from nature and stewardship to our Momma Earth. 💕🌎💕

Here's my 9 favorite things I did in 2017!    2017 was an incredible and challenging year for me. It was the most productive year of my life, and I learned as much from my (numerous, catastrophic, miscalculated) failures as I did the (miraculous, by chance) successes. I began doing conventions with my lovely lady @pluviamancy in March, and we have since done just under 20 together, which was incredibly taxing and I would have gone insane in hotel rooms and vendor halls months ago without her precious company. I did my first illustrations for tabletop fantasy RPG companies, my first few book covers, and started my first children's book (which I can't share yet, but soon!). I completed Inktober for the first time ever, which I'm way more excited about than should be humanly possible because I've been failing since senior year of high school. I began three personal projects I'm anxious to see through, #theilluminatedtarot, #thealphabetofbeasts, and #rootpeople. I took my first class with the incredible Peter Han and learned so much more than I ever thought I could, mostly that I can't draw a straight line for my life. Most of all, I met so many amazing, kind, unusual people, artists and otherwise, or learned to appreciate how amazing, kind, and unusual the people I already know are. I'm so grateful to have gotten so much support from family, friends, professors, fans, and clients. In all previous years, I've looked to the new year with dread but for the first time I am truly excited to see what the next year will bring. 2017 was personally, emotionally, and professionally challenging but even more so rewarding. I can't wait to see what happens in 2018! I hope you all had an amazing year full of growth, and if you didn't that you learned something to make 2018 better! Congratulations for making it through another year on this planet everyone!

Month of Spreads Day 9: Stalker Cards (Suits) I chose the whole Cups suit (Hearts in The Illuminated Tarot). They seem to pop up everywhere for me. Month of Spreads Day 8: Book vs Intuition

1) Area of life that needs focus - Card: Joker/The Fool Intuitive: Inner Wildness/Nature Book: Fearlessness & Freedom Comparison: Pretty close. Embracing your inner wild woman or man is pretty fearless and freeing and something my deck is telling me to work on.

2) Potential hold backs - Card: 3 of Spades (Swords) Intuitive: Move past problems toward the light Book: Moving Beyond Sorrows & Understanding One’s Own Feelings Comparison: This one is spot on., *pats own back*, and on I definitely relate too. Seems to be a recurring issue in my life at the moment.

3) Improving this area - Card: 10 of Diamonds (Coins) Intuitive: Mystery/Shadow Work (dark side up) Book: A Choice of Security Over Risk & Enjoyment of Wealth Comparison: Hmm I think my interpretation and the books sound different but could be similar in nature. With the dark side up it may be saying to take a risk and stop being secure with light work. Embrace that dark shadow work if you want to enjoy the wealth of your work (self work)

Month of Spreads Day 7: The Deck Conversation. Note: This is supposed to be a six card spread but when I went to flip the second over, it had a buddy so I figured it was part of the second question as well. I've had this Illuminated Tarot deck by Caitlin Keegan for a while but haven't worked with it yet. Its a little difficult to shuffle due to card size and cardstock thickness. It utilizes a playing card deck combining minor and major arcana. The artwork is fantastic! Cards I drew 1) Nine of Clubs (wands) / The Sun 2) Ten of Hearts (cups) / The Wheel of Fortune & Eight of Hearts / The Moon 3) Seven of Clubs 4) Nine of Hearts 5) Four of Clubs 6) Queen of Hearts / The Empress All the cards drawn were the same 2 suits, interesting. My deck told me it was feeling new, that we are just getting started so everything is mysterious. It says it may be a struggle to pick up its messages but to be vigilant. It prefers readings of a more personal/self focused theme. Its limitations suggest that it might not be able to convey what it wants with the limited cards, that I may need to uproot the foundations of the tarot I know to get its meaning. We will grow together if I embrace it naturally and more intuitively. Very interesting conversation indeed.
