possibly my magnum opus. bit of a labour of love (300+ fics with links authors titles ratings pairings) but i think it's worth sharing these amazing fics with the world

i KNOW i missed many many groundbreaking fics but dw this list will be updated alw! so check back to see once in a whilee. this is also quite obviously just my own niche tastes - 1 year in fandom's baarely enough to scrape the tip of the iceberg in terms of just how much insane stuff there is out there!! so js a small cozy corner i'd like to share

“i think we’re friends now.” “God, don’t say that.”

“everything is just a competition for you… isn’t it?” “isn’t it for you, too?”

“h—” “don’t talk to me.”

“i’d pay good money for you to admit you tolerate me.” “tolerate being the operative word.”

“why can’t you open up to me?” “why do you want me to?”

they’re so used to hating each other sometimes the snide remarks just slip out LMAO

like “should i get you something too?” “you can get out of my fa— woah, hehe. sorry.”

“you’re still on that?” “still on that..??? STILL ON THAT?????? I CANT STAND YOU???!!!(!;!”

a whispered moment between them ; “i’m trying so hard to hate you.” “why?”

they’re trying hard to hate each other then something happens (plot) and they’re stuck together which makes it ten times harder

“be honest with me.” “but why? why would i do that?”

“stop.” “stop what?” “being so kind to me.”

remember… they hated each other a couple chapters back. what changed? why did it change? who did it start to change in first?

the moment where your character asks themselves; “when did this nuisance become so important to me?”

After last time's angsty fic, today will be two little fics to tend to your hearts 💙

The first one is a very sweet and light lestappen fic, involving soulmates laws and Coldplay ! Say hello to soulmates (or, max has a love-hate relationship with coldplay) by @altisssimozucca who is one of my favorite writers of this fandom, and this fic is one of my little faves and I hope you will enjoy it as much as me !

The second one is a little special, but it really stayed on my mind when I read it, and while preparing that post I happily re-read it again because it was so good : The Performer, a sebson spy AU by @theianitor. A real gem you should definitely check out !

Mark's life is in a rut. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. But when Seb, one of the delivery boys at the pizzeria, can't work, Mark steps in for him... and finds something that just might be able to knock the rut out.

i think i'm very funny. someone needs to stop me. webbonso endgame.

longfics rarely hold my interest but this one did, somehow? the pairings + the premise of secret fight club + the excellent excellent characterisation. some kimi/mark which was unexpected but delightful. all the character arcs fit so nicely - very very satisfying binge!!

I have come to hype! :) Exchanges are good fun, 1000 words is quite doable, and with one character given it shouldn't be too hard to match up and get a nice prompt for it! And let's be honest, some nice Fernando fluff? Sounds pretty darn tasty! ;)

im cheating for this, i would do a sequel to my Star Wars fic told from Padme’s perspective where she is applying to do her PHD whilst also trying to convince Anakin and Obi-Wan to stop being so highly strung all the time and go on a weekend break with her.

btw I’ve found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:

Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!

especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it’s really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)

For the Fanfic Writer Asks: 1, 3, 5, 24 (I know, forbidden question!), 29, and 37 please? :)

1. When did you start writing?

When I was a kid I would often write stories that featured other characters (like Sonic the Hedgehog or Bill & Ted for example) but I didn’t knowingly start writing fanfic until I was about 20. I started pretty late!

3. Favourite AU?

I will always be a sucker for the coffee shop AU. I love writing them even though I haven’t done all that many and I love reading them too. There’s something just so cosy and autumnal about them. They make me happy.

5. How many words do you write per day?

Hahahaha, oh boy. As far as fic goes? It fluctuates massively. Sometimes I can barely get a paragraph out at a time and then other days I’ll knock out a 6k fic all in one go. Consistency is a thing of dreams.

24. How many unfinished works are in your drafts?

Hoooo boy. I mean, how far back do we want to go? I still have at least 10 F1 fics that I started in 2014/2015 that still plague my mind from time to time. Risht now I’m kind of in the middle of about 5 fics? Three IT fics, one Generation Kill fic and something I’m sure I’m forgetting.

29. Where do you get your inspiration from?

All over the place, man. That’s part of the problem. Everywhere I look I think huh, that would make a good fic. A lot of it stems from character interactions and I’ll just run with those, that was most often the case with F1 fic. With other fic, it’s often just me wanting to sort through my thoughts on events or how certain scenarios might unfold and using the characters I love to explore it.

37. Any writing rituals?

Not really. Recently I have found that listening to Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap on repeat-1 is a good way of getting words down because it just becomes white noise after a few plays but other than that not so much.
