Promenade agréable le long de la riviere Garavogue River a Sligo. . Une vieille légende raconte que Saint-Patrick rencontre deux pêcheurs au bord de la rivière et leur demanda de pêcher un saumon pour lui. Mais c’était l’hiver, époque à laquelle le saumon ne nage pas dans les eaux irlandaises … Pourtant les pêcheurs mirent leurs filets dans la rivière et, ô miracle, capturèrent un saumon qu’ils donnèrent à Saint-Patrick ! Pour les remercier, Saint-Patrick bénit la rivière qui aurait donc aujourd’hui encore le privilège d’accueillir des saumons toute l’année ! • Pleasant walk along the banks of the Garavogue River a Sligo. . An old legend tells that St. Patrick meets two fishermen by the river and asked them to catch a salmon for him. But it was winter, when salmon do not swim in Irish waters ... Yet fishermen put their nets in the river and, miraculously, captured a salmon they gave to St. Patrick! In return Saint Patrick is said to have blessed the Garavogue River and imparted to it the privilege of yielding salmon throughout the year. . Another shot from my trip with @irishrail and @viewfinders.ie in Sligo has a varied natural landscape with spectacular limestone mountains: Benbulben. • Benbulben was formed as a result of the different responses to erosion of the limestone and shale of which the mountain is formed. A hard and resistant limestone forms the upper cliffs and precipices. • Benbulben was formed during the Ice age, when large parts of the earth were under glaciers.
