...like pressing an elevator button with your lips!
I don't go to town much since I left Johannesburg where I finished high school in Braamfontein and for which I developed a pretty lasting love hate relationship with. Being an avid gardener, we left the big city lights for an off grid option and are homesteading with all of YouTube to support us. Thing is, Covid-19 put a pause on travel and I missed a few opportunities to get out of our mountainside Utopia. However in November 2020 I was called to PTA for some work and on one particular weekend, we visited a low brow art exhibition which translates in Covid-pandemic times as popping into a room to see amazing art without being allowed to bring more than a couple of friends. Awesome art, in a beautiful part of old Johannesburg, but it was over pretty quick, even with long stares and a near meditative alone time with the pieces.
The room in which the art was exhibited was connected to a weed shoppe that was usually closed, (we were there after hours) but had their operators in store. Behind closed doors, following surface level covid precautions, we stayed and chatted like boho freaks about the state of cannabis affairs, especially since the death of Julian Stobbes - the hero-half and partner to the heroin-half Myrtle Clarke of famous and admired 'Dagga Couple'; a tragic loss to the movement.
Before you knew it we got comfortable and shared experiences which led to the tasting of some fresh dab, a first for my friend who had been staring at this dab rig for a while and wondering what it was for. We, that were interested, accepted the chance and we sampled a drag of the sticky yellow goo that tastes so sweet. We left soon after that and returned on route to dinner at a close friend and back to our conscious attention to covid-19 precautions.
By Sunday of the same weekend we had sore throats and all the symptoms of a typical flu and while we tested negative for covid-19, hitting that dab rig was a little like pressing an elevator button with our lips!
Don't share dab rigs hits without proper sanitising. Get your OWN glass dab rig at The High Co and be smart, don't blame dagga for bad choices! Spliff o’çlock! Catch you later!
