Reposted from @_rage_in_a_cage_ - For years, I have been strictly #prolife until I realized it meant that the government had a say about what I do with my body, what my sisters do with their bodies, and now what my daughters can do with heir bodies when they are older. I do not stand with the government’s choice to take away birth control and to preform ectopic pregnancies. None of this is logical! I refuse to be apart of the problem. I am #prochoice because how I feel about abortion shouldn’t undermine another woman’s options. I will never get an abortion myself and I will take the correct steps to prevent another pregnancy. There are women out there that can’t have babies of their own, can’t afford fertility treatment, and can’t pay to adopt, but that does not mean I am going to put another woman’s life on the line for a child to be born. It’s time for adoption to become an easier process for families that want children. Safe and medical abortions and birth control need to be available for women, young girls, women that want kids later, and women that don’t want kids at all. We need to stand together, as men and women, and fight for this! Don’t take away birth control and make abortions illegal, people will find other ways and possibly hurt themselves. Don’t put a woman’s life in danger for a procedure that can’t be done because #shehasaheartbeattoo ! I’m not saying, “let’s use abortion as a form of birth control” I’m saying, “It’s not my body, not my life, not my decision. Warning: The following is a rant. Albeit a fairly appropriate one! This piece of "propaganda" really grinds my gears! Yeah I get the fact that the government is on a drive to recruit teachers. Every year, hundreds of thousands of teachers are leaving the profession. Sad, but true. However, I really don't think you enter into teaching for the money! Well I certainly didn't and it shouldn't really be about that. The government should be looking at why teachers are leaving and then try and make changes. The top reasons tend to be increasingly unhealthy workloads and unrealistic expectations. I, for one, will not be returning to teaching until the government stop trying to privatise education and actually listen to teachers. Until then, good teachers will continue to leave the profession and trainee teacher numbers will dwindle.
