Win the war, Charles had said. As always the old man was right. Times had moved on since he was a teenager and the world, and his place in it, had grown. The school was larger now than the band of five misfit kids. Now they were a community, a people bound together by common suffering. Now they had more to lose. Now they were noticed and to some, they were a threat.Â
It was no longer enough to defeat enemies that came knocking at their door. Survival now meant defeating the enemies that will come for them, that will take their children, that will bury his friends one by one. The reformation was evidence of that. The enemy had grown more sophisticated. So he had to too.Â
âBit stuffy in here but itâs a nice view.â he remarks seeing the figure of freedom itself approach. Theyâre in the greenhouse, a tall glass dome stuck on top of the biology building. It was one of the highest vantage points on campus, almost blinding to stand in but the view was unbeatable.Â
âThank you for meeting me.â he extends a hand, smile genuinely warm. âYou must get this all the time but I used to study your missions as a kid. - My guardian had a copy of the reports - the feint in Northwind was ... brilliant, and I daresay it saved Alsace.â It was a simpler time, when concepts of war were still abstract and fun. He shrugged, âIâll cut to the chase. Youâve been quiet on the reformation. No doubt both sides were lobbying for support in the lead up the bill but you refuse to take a stance. Why is that?âÂ

thegoodxcaptain replied to your post:Getting sucked more and more into the show, but...
Weâre talking LoT right? I love Brandon Routh, is it worth watching?
Yes, Legends of Tomorrow. Iâm in love with the show and the characters (all of them). The fight scenes are lousy, the special effects are worse, but the acting is great and the relationships and the writing is a lot of fun.Â
BUT
Iâve never been a comic fan, I donât know anything about how these characters should be or how many things the writers screwed up. Iâve never watched Doctor Who nor do I know anything about The Flash or Arrow or whatever other show they have had a crossover with so far, so maybe thatâs the key to enjoying this show? Just watch it TO watch it, without any expectations?

A Modest Proposal || Steve and Rogue
After Rogue got back from New Orleans, she decided she had a lot to do. HOPE had more followers than she thought, and she was worried that it would only gain more support. From what Rogue had heard of their leader, Elaine Cross, their leader was a powerful speaker, and seemed gifted at moving people to their cause. And with the X-Men team so widely dispersed, Rogue worried that there wouldnât be enough people to handle the threats against mutants.
More than that, though, Rogue knew that the X-Men dealing with these kinds of threats alone hadnât worked in the past. She remembered all the harm the Purifiers had done, she remembered the bomb and the death of all those innocent students and how the general public had hardly even reacted to what had happened. And Rogue didnât want this to be dealt with the same way. Something needed to change.
Which was why Rogue found herself now in Avengers Tower. She was looking for that way to change the way the X-Men dealt with their threats. Because something had occurred to Rogue that had likely occured to many other members of the X-Men: maybe the X-Men working alone, responding to hate against mutants, aliens, and other non-humans wasnât the best way to go. Maybe they needed help. Rogue  knew the X-Men had asked for help from the Avengers before, and they had been turned down; Rogue couldnât remember the amount of times that the X-Men had been told by SHEILD and the Avengers in the past to deal with their problems on their own. But this was different. This was, hopefully, the era where the superheroes of the world had come together to fight against the threats of the world, alien and human. And so this was, hopefully, a time when the Avengers would not turn the X-Men down. HOPE was, after all, a global threat.
Maybe, working together, the X-Men and the Avengers and maybe even the Guardians of the Galaxy could find methods to combat HOPE before it did irreversible harm to the mutant and non-human citizens of the planet. And so, with all this in mind, Rogue asked around for Steve Rogers, the leader of the Avengers. She thought he might be receptive to her ideas. When she found him, she approached him. âSteve? Can we talk?â

Maybe I Won't Kill You - Pacific Rim AU: Nev, Steve
@thegoodxcaptain
Well it was safe to say that, since the frankly overdramatic spat with the Steve the Shrimpy Scientist, Nevaehâs week had gone from bad to worse. Her supervisor had found out about her taking the simulator for a joyride and consequently banned her from all activities that werenât strictly training for the next week. According to him, it wouldnât have been so bad if she hadnât performed so goddamn poorly. âIf thatâs how you show off for your boyfriend, no wonder you only have hookups,â were his exact words.
She took it lying down this time, though. Two weeks ago she might have argued, at least on the boyfriend subject, if nothing else. But she shut up and stood at attention until he was done, probably surprising him. The reason was, despite her attempts to convince herself otherwise, Steve. She shouldnât have pushed him so hard. Arguing with him was one thing, but shoving him into a sim jaeger where he knew he wouldnât do well was just cruel and unusual punishment. Maybe he did have a hero complex, but it wasnât like anyone was actually going to put him in a real jaeger. She had a pretty sharp bite when she wanted, but sheâd never thought of herself as actually mean. Her actions with Steve could have easily been considered downright bullying.
Nev wasnât a bully. Sheâd been bullied, had kids at school avoid her because they knew her momâs reputation, had girls call her a little slut, had boys push her around because to them, she was just easy. Sheâd fought all of them for it, so why the hell wouldnât Steve fight her? Usually people deserved the venom in her tongue, but she might have missed the mark on this one.
Halfway through her week-long sentence, she went into the Shatterdomeâs lab. Having not actually gone in before, she was momentarily stymied by the sheer amount of tubes and tanks containing things gross enough to make her gag. There were tables, too, all covered in papers and computers and research equipment. Eventually, pat all the clutter, she finally found a mop of blond hair bent over something probably as wildly boring as it was intellectual. âDelivery for Mr. Rogers,â she said, setting the bag of Chinese take-out next to him on the table. âWith a side of âHoping itâs a better day in the neighborhoodâ?â She tried to offer an apologetic smile, tried to be non-threatening. With his attitude, though, she wasnât sure if heâd buy it.

Finally Alone || Bucky & Steve
for @thegoodxcaptain
The time he had spent with Natalia had helped him feel more grounded but there was still a missing piece of him. A large hole in his life, in his soul that could only be filled by one person. He struggled to recall the manâs name most days so he settled for calling him âthe man on the bridgeâ. His memories of that man were confusing. Some that came to mind were of a small, slight figure who was sickly and he felt compelled to look after him. Others were of a tall, physically strong figure who inspired loyalty and bravery in fellow soldiers and yet he still felt compelled to look after him. There was only one solution to ease the burden of this confusion.
Just because there was only one solution did not mean it was going to be easy. The Man on the Bridge spent a lot of his time surrounded by other so-called heroes and agents. He was rarely alone.
Although the Man on the Bridge (Steve, his name is Steve) did sometimes manage to get away from the crowd. He would slip away and go to an old gym to work the punching bags. Thatâs where he would wait for Steve.
It was late in the evening when Steve finally showed up. The gym was empty except for the good Captain and him. He stayed in the shadows as Steve came in. He stayed there as Steve began punching one of the bags that hung from the ceiling. He watched as the Man on the Bridge threw all of his strength into each punch as if this was the only way he could work out his demons. He frowned. He didnât know that Steve had demons. Steve was the good one out of the pair of them. What had happened that haunted him like this?
Slowly he rose to his feet and steadily emerged from the shadows. He approached the Man on the Bridge, Steve, from the side so he would see him approach in his periphery. He came to a stop when he was about five foot away from the other male. Of all the things he had planned to say, he could only manage this.
âHello Steve.â

A Sight for Sore Eyes || Thor & Steve
Closed RP for thegoodxcaptain
It had been too long since Thor since had seen Steven Rogers. Thor understood Steveâs need for time and space to process everything that had happened to his friend; however circumstances had drastically changed since Steve had chosen to take himself away from the Avengers in search of the answers he so desperately sought. As much as it pained Thor to do so, he sent a message through the secured channel Steve had set up before he left for such emergencies.
>>Excuse the intrusion but we need you. I shall tell you everything you require to know as soon as you return.<<
After the message had been sent, it was a matter of waiting for Steve to return. On the one hand it was easy to pass the time as there was much to be done in preparation for the various missions the heroes had been given ahead of the Foesitian threat. On the other hand it was difficult to think of anything else but the state in which Steve would be once he returned to the Avengers. Thor supposed that he might be worrying himself over nothing but considering how bad everything was supposed to be with the Foesitians setting their sights on Earth, the news might not be easy for Steve to take.
Underneath all of the worries and concerns Thor had, there was something much simpler: he missed Steve and didnât like the idea of Steve facing his troubles and grief alone. Thor had been blessed with a strong network of support from Lady Sif and the Warriors Three to get him through some of the most wretched moments of his life. Did Steve know that Thor was more than willing to offer that same kind of support? Thor had agreed to allow Steve space and time to deal with his woes, but Thor didnât like it. The sooner Steve was back in New York and at the Tower, the better as far as Thor was concerned.
Thor was busy with the preparations of his mission to Alaska with Clint Barton, Natasha Romanoff and Kurt Wagner when a knock sounded from his door. Immediately he knew it was Steve (although he would not be able to explain why he knew this). For the moment, his Alaskan mission was forgotten as he bounded over to the door and wretched it open to find the good Captain stood in the doorway. âMy friend!â Thor exclaimed as he pulled Steve into a tight embrace. He held the embrace for a beat before holding Steve out at armâs length by the shoulders. ââTis good to see you again. Come in. We have much to discuss.â

You Little Shit - Pacific Rim AU, Steve and Nev
It was nearly impossible to escape the sound of heavy machinery inside the Shatterdome. Pick any time of day or night and you could hear people hammering away on the newest jaeger or fixing up ones that had just come back from a fight. The raging cacophony could still be heard even from the dorms, so at that point it was a matter of being unable to beat them, therefore joining them.
Nevaeh liked to hang around the catwalks at the jaeger dock, watching the engineering teams work and the pilot teams practice. She didnât have a partner yet. She hadnât signed on very long ago, and she had been approved for jaeger operation, but no one had been found drift compatible with her yet, so she remained a cadet. She didnât come here just to sit around waiting to âclickâ with someone. This wasnât speed dating, it was war.
At least she wasnât in a shitty apartment anymore. Kaiju were hard to escape when your only decent cover was a back alley.
Getting up from her spot on the catwalks, Nevaeh made her way down to the floor, past the teams doing⌠team things (basketball? under the jaeger?) and on to the back of the docks. Sheâd been assigned to a nearly-finished jaeger whenever a partner could be found. It was a 300 foot monster named Mississippi Grind and painted glossy black and cobalt blue. All the standard features were on it, plus a massive blade that came from the right hand, and an expandable shield on the left. The shield could take a ridiculous amount of damage, or so the engineers promised, and it could expand so large that the whole jaeger could crouch behind it if the need arose. The rig was insane, and sheâd already done a few simulations for it. If only she could pilot it alone, there wouldnât be a need for this stupid hunt to find someone whoâd like her.
As she approached the right foot of the titanic machine, she caught sight of a brown trenchcoat and a mop of blond hair. âAnd what the hell are you doing over her?â she asked, crossing her arms. She knew exactly who it was: the tiny scientist that worked upstairs. Steve Whatever. He was always yelling about something, shouting science crap at people even though nobody understood. He was too small and skinny to be starting fights like that, but the little nerd seemed to have it in his head that his muscles were as big as his brain. âDonât you have some Kaiju dick to dissect instead of fuckinâ around with my jaeger?
