While this is 6 months old, and i have ZERO clue which post you’re referencing, i can confidently say that there is no place on my blog for shaming other peoples symptoms and fakeclaiming them based on the sheer fact that your symptoms don’t match up. you can dislike gabbie, hell, you can properly HATE her, but you don’t get to make yourself a monolith to invalidate somebody elses diagnosis. 

everything i’ve posted about has been gabbies OWN EXPERIENCE with OCD, and she’s been diagnosed since she was a minor. She’s openly talked about how debilitating it made her life before she sought therapy for it as an adult. it used to interfer with her daily life, with her relationships, with her diet, and most obviously her mental health. she shouldn’t have to relay every little symptom to be taken seriously.  gabbie is 32 now. it’s been two decades. she’s also been open about being in recovery and on the path to remission with her OCD. due to this, her symptoms are not a pronounced as it used to be! she’s admitted that even while she was on youtube she struggled with relapses due to many aspects of the disorder feeding off of her work schedule.  lastly: gabbie has also talked about her cleaning OCD extensively. a large piece of her cleaning OCD was hoarding and this too affected her life heavily and caused her a lot of mental and physical stress. and as mentioned, the cleaning and organizing itself. a lot of it spawned from the obsessions around the mess (the cleaning then being the compulsion) you can discount cleaning OCD all you like, that doesnt mean its not a VALID and genuine subset of OCD. in a study of 2000, 48% of people fell under the  “symmetry/hoarding,” “contamination/cleaning,” and “pure obsessions.”  variant.  the fact that people in 2023  people (not even DigitalisCollective, but other people) use gabbie showing symptoms of cleaning OCD as proof that she’s lying, or faking, or never had it in the first place-- its mind blowing. these people exist, PLEASE stop discounting their experiences! 

We are really scared about what goes into our body and need someone to taste test our food most of the time because we are convinced ppl are trying to poison us. No thanks @lovegabbiehanna for the inaccurate portrayal of this disorder.
