If you're a lover of literature and Jasper Fforde hasn't made it onto your reading list before, you've been missing out! I discovered him in high school when I read The Eyre Affair, a literary crime caper that takes the characters on a chase through stories to find what the villain has done with Jane Eyre. His humor is intelligent, his characters well built, and his literary jokes are delightfully sprinkled throughout the book. In this book, Jack Spratt is a washed up detective in the Nursery Crime Division who wants nothing more than the opportunity to track down that ruthless psychopath, the Gingerbread Man. 馃槀 I'm so glad I found it at #thelastbookstore, it's my new favorite #teatime companion. . . . #teahabit #tealover #tea #herbal #herbaltea #mugcollection #bookworm #bookrecommendation #bookstagram #jasperfforde #thefourthbear #satire #humor #book #eyreaffair #jackspratt #nurseryrhymes #comedy #gingerbread #gingerbreadman

My current read! Needing something a bit light after Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee and what better than some Jasper Fforde! This is the second of the Nursery Crimes books and a spin-off of Fforde鈥檚 major Thursday Next series. DCI Jack Spratt finds himself involved in a shadowy and surreal case of a missing Goldilocks, unexplained explosions and mysteriously differing porridge temperatures! #book #bookstagram #jasperfforde #thefourthbear

PDR: Persons of Dubious Reality; refugees from the collective consciousness. Uninvited visitors who have fallen through the grating that divides the real, from the written. They arrive with their actions hardwired due to their repetitious existence and the older and more basic they are, the more rigidly they stick to them. Characters from cautionary tales are particularly mindless; they do what they do because it's what they've always done. And it's our job to stop them. #thefourthbear #JasperFforde
