It's #TableTalkTuesday and today we're chatting about golf star Cheyenne Woods! | There's no doubt that Cheyenne is following in the athletic footsteps of her famous, pro-golfer uncle, Tiger Woods. In early December of 2014, the 24 year old gained the status as the sixth African American to become a full-time member of the LPGA after earning the tour card for the female pro-golf organization. How amazing is that?! Read more via our #TableTalkTuesday blog post (link in bio) or chat it up right here! Do you think she'll surpass her uncle's legacy? Have you been following her journey? #TheDinnerTableDoc #HaveASeat

An Essence Magazine short film contest gave me (Asha Boston) the idea to create a mini documentary on Black women being multidimensional. While conducting research on the contents of quality programming, I found myself awe-inspired by the creators of Sesame Street. As I read about the shows creation, I was intrigued to learn that it came about by simply taking the addictive qualities of children's programming and turning it into something positive and educational. For my project I decided to take the addictive qualities of reality television and make it positive. The documentary is entitled "The Dinner Table" as a nudge to the idea portrayed in reality shows that we as women, black women especially can not sit down and have dinner together. I wanted to show that we can be more than "baby mama's" and "bottle throwers" that tear each other down mentally and physically each time we meet to break bread. The film starts at the dinner table and the conversation there serves as a narrative while short monologues (to mimic confessionals) are shown along with real footage of young black millennial women sharing their stories of success, mentor relationships and inspiration. I really want this project to contribute to the narrative for black women in the entertainment realm, hopefully someone is listening.
