I’m a big supporter of fathers taking an active role in their children’s lives. That’s why on Sunday 4/23/2023 my son Phoenix and I were in Leimert Park supporting the group The Dad Gang, which supports and promotes fathers of color who are truly involved in their children’s lives and development.

On today’s news! The weather, that surprisingly got better, is the only thing I would like to be non-consistent. Has the coronavirus been written down repeatedly? You feel tired hearing from it, or have you gotten over it? Well, that is great! We are all tired, but the U.S. saw nearly 40,000 new cases YESTERDAY. Despite all that, North Carolina will not enforce the use of masks. Congratulations. You birdbrains! hoot hoot!  Back to police brutality, Elijah McClain died last year in police custody. He was unarmed and committed no crime. Today Tamir Rice would have turned 18, but he was also killed when he was TWELVE by the police. Meanwhile, Donald Dickerson Trumpet is being more annoying than orange asking the supreme court to takedown the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). Sir, do yourself and this not so great nation a favor and step down, retire, go count some pebbles but just chill for a second. You have taken this matter to the court three times! Mother Nature sure is a wonder but not so much for India where more than 100 people died due to lighting strikes in two days. Not sure if this is her way of helping with the virus but it is a bit shocking. Apparently stabbing is now a thing, in Glasgow, the UK a police officer shot a suspect after another officer was stabbed. Keep the knives in the kitchen or pop a teabag. Bloody hell. Humanity, you are so messed up. But on a positive note from all this madness and non-greatness: there is this community called the “Dad Gang” and is supporting black fatherhood and breaking stereotypes. You should look it up on Instagram (@thedadgang). A new study suggests that people try to do right by each other, no matter the motivation. I would like to see more of that, so I would like to help you, my dear reader. Take a nice deep breath and play your favorite song. Sing it, dance like no one is watching, and take a moment to realize how lucky you are to be standing under today’s sun. (plus, you got me,so you cannot ask for anything better, HA!
