The 75 MW Sidrap Power Plant (PLTB) power station will soon be in use and will beinaugurated in the near future. This PLTB is the first time built in Indonesia and is partof the development of clean renewable energy projects. " After the Sidrap phase I PLTB will be proposed Sidrap development stage 2. Proposed Sukabumi, Maluku and several other locations," said Deputy of InfrastructureCoordination Kemenko Maritime, Ridwan Djamaluddin interrupted working visit with theCoordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Energy and Mineral ResourcesDirectorate General of Energy Newly Renewable and Energy Conservation (DG EBTKE), Ministryof Environment and Forestry (KLHK) and State Power Plant (PLN) ahead of preparation forthe inauguration of Sidrap PLTB. Currently 30 units of wind turbines have been installed with each turbine having a nameplated rated capacity of 2.5 MW. This wind turbine is mounted on an 80 m high steel towerwith a 57 m turbine blade length. "Sidrap PLTB has not been inaugurated, but is inpreparation for the inauguration by President Joko Widodo," said Ridwan. Sidrap PLTB has been instrumental in making South Sulawesi a surplus of energy. The construction of this PLTB iswell received by the surrounding community.
