I recently visited this place by @thecollectiveartevents, and @yshhb_official at Kampong Bolkiah B. Brings so much joy for kids to interact with each other and play, be creative, explore their potential and possibly a place to unwind after school. No iPads, no TVs! Just you, your friends/cousins and what's around you. I was amazed that they would interact with you when you ask them questions! They would call you “Abang” or “Kaka” if they want to ask you questions. So sweet! It's rare nowadays, especially for kids exposed to mobile/online games at an early age. While we were there, the kids learn how to make Calamansi Juice to sell, and they have to decide on the recipe as a team. Although they were about 4 to 9 years old, they were able to make that difficult decision. These are some of the things that we need to teach our kids. Thanks, @aspadiyah, for tagging me along. I certainly hope this is NOT how our next generation are going to turn out! - #Repost @thecollectiveartevents ・・・ We’re extremely strong advocates for animal rights here at the collective and are shocked and disgusted by the video that has been circulating of two young boys beating a puppy to death. Enough is enough- we should not remain apathetic or shy away from taking action against people who are cruel to animals (which doesn’t mean a violent response either- that’s also against the law). If you see behavior that is cruel to animals, call the police immediately to report it, call your friends, family etc for backup and take non-violent action and intervene and ask the perpetrator to stop. Protect the animal being hurt and call a vet or @care.actionsforstrays for advice. Apathy and inaction only gives abusers more power. You should not protect or excuse people that harm or abuse animals, just as you wouldn’t if they were harming or abusing a human. We have posted the link to the original Social media post in our IG stories so people can see the full story. Animal cruelty is unethical and a crime, punishable by law so we definitely shouldn’t take this instance lightly. And while we’re at it let’s be clear that cats and dogs have equal animal rights- no animal is “dirty” or worth less than the other. A huge amount of gratitude to Luqman Azizi who published it on social media and asked for action.
