So there's obviously the blatantly white interests and speech patterns but also his personality by them feels.....off.Like they're not writing a black softboy,they're writing him as not actually being black in the sense of Miles' softness being BECAUSE of his blackness so it's a very particular type and not just generic.He feels less like Miles Morales and more like Tom Holland ykwim?

PJO OC | Hester Sterling

Hester Vivica Sterling is the main protagonist of the fanfic A Hunter Named Hester. She, alongside her younger twin sisters Avril and Leticia, is a child of Apollo, residing in the Camp Halfblood cabin of his namesake. Hester is also a Hunter of Artemis as an act of revenge against Apollo.

Appearance

Hester is a slender girl with brown skin, curly black hair, and dark brown eyes. She has a silver piercing on her right eyebrow and always wears a red bandana around her neck, possibly in remembrance of her stepfather. Apollo always states that Hester looks like her mother (therefore the most human looking), which she finds a good thing.

Personality

From a young age, Hester has always expressed herself as kind, free thinking, and capable. But she's also not afraid to ask for help when it's needed. Hester is also fun-loving and enjoys being around her friends.

Since the death of her stepfather Mark (who she considers her real father), Hester has been closed off and standoffish. She doesn't interact with anyone and tends to lash out when someone tries to get close to her. All she wants is some time alone to grieve him.

It's no secret that Hester despises Apollo, as she sees him as responsible for or having a role in Mark's death. That's when her aunt Artemis offered her a chance to be one of her hunters, she took it.

Hester is your typical protective big sister to Avril and Leticia.

Re the fascist/cop post, I'm still pissed about the careers they gave so many characters because a cop doesn't fit any of the cops. Except Lin.

Like Toph, for example. In AtLA, she hates authority so much and in LoK she hates people and the idea of leading them. In the AtLA comics, she's shown to enjoy being the authority in being a teacher or partner in Earthern Fire Industries, but it's repeatedly shown she likes the title over the job. If I were in charge of her adulthood, she'd keep being a teacher, go to the wilderness earlier, or maybe be a politician.

Mako and Bolin have similar reasons for this being stupid. They were orphaned at 8 and 6 respectively and turned to a life of crime to survive for 8-9 years before becoming athletes. They know why most criminals exist, out of desperation. And Bolin is only a cop for like a week because Mako was. I think it would make more sense if Mako either never joined the police or left to be a PI/bodyguard for hire because B4 Mako is best Mako. Similarly, it doesn't make sense for Bolin to join and stay with Kuvira because while he's daft, he's not that daft and I think he'd realize what's up

The PJO fandom, I feel like, is a great example of how nonpunks only recognize us for our looks. Like Thalia is considered punk because she looks it. She's the second in command to a god though, and while ik Artemis is cool she's still a god. Percy sometimes gets punk status because of the Skaterboy lines. Magnus and Alex, who hate cops and all authority and actively steal from the rich, and when they become rich use the money to help people like them, aren't punk because Magnus wears flannel and Alex is pastel with a sweatervest
