Here’s some #chogrin trivia related to #diadelosmuertos. In 2009 I became unemployed and began curating art shows in Philadelphia. One of the last shows that I curated before moving out west was a #dayofthedead themed show under #theautumnsocietyofphiladelphia. For the show, I created a fictional luchador by the name of #diablorojo (which I’m sure by now is a Luchador that actually exists). To decorate the parts of the illustration surrounding “diablo rojo,” I created these skulls for each side. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since my first art gallery show in Mexico City at #gurúgalería. The show was also the first of many themed shows by #AutumnSocietyMexico, which was a branch of #theautumnsocietyofphiladelphia. The theme for the show was portraying both dead and living #popculture #icons in the #diadelosmuertos style.
