During my 20s I found my calling career in life, I started off studying music. I’m often asked if I regret it as it isn’t the path I ended up following. I’m normally asked by co-workers that are worried about their child/teenager wanting to study music. So I will say this, I do not regret my time studying music. I think it was the best thing I did for my age (19-21) I was able to follow a passion, it gave me opportunities to travel and see the world (which sparked my love of travel). I did figure out that sometimes if you make your passion/hobby a job… you may end up losing that excitement. I ended up taking a break for a year and figure out what I wanted to do. In the back of my mind I was always interested in nursing/medicine. I was exposed to hospitals as a teenager, as I was at the children’s hospital in Sydney a lot going through treatment for my bone disease. I remember thinking “I could do this” but at the time my identity was shaped by my musicianship. But when I was 22, I decided to take the chance and signed up to study nursing - best decision I ever made. I’m now currently at registered nurse in rural Australia
