This "Alla Prima" was done prior to the pandemic. She was smiling the whole three hours she sat for the painting. It had been her first time posing and the energy reflected the work. Those exchanges between people are now online and I'm so grateful for it. I'll be teaching an "Online Form Painting Workshop" that uncovers my methodology of painting "What you know" rather than "What you see" it will be jam packed with concepts most never thought could be applied to painting such as the science of how light and color interact with volume, visual perception and how to organize all of that using the Munsell Color System. Painting "what you know" vs. "What you see" is the premise of tomorrow's @theartdiggerlab online workshop!
