And It is BUSY Saturday evening here at The Arcade! We have quite a few people here but hey, there's still room for you so come on down! We have almost 140 machines representing six decades of arcade game goodness waiting for you!
Okay on to me. It's been another week from hell for your truly. It started off fine with a day off at home, but then Monday came, which sucked on a bunch of different levels. Tuesday was no better either, and it culminated with the power going out Wednesday night with the nasty storms that came through. Fifteen hours later the power came back and I have been in recovery mode ever since.
I am going on stream definitely Monday night after work. I'm going to be editing episode 66 and if I'm not too worn out I'll play something afterwards, maybe some Division 2 or Surroundead, so tune in from about 10pm est to maybe 1 or so, depending.

Yippety Yikes! We are BUSY tonight at The Arcade! While there are a lot of people here tonight, if you're not agoraphobic and you're looking for some video gaming goodness, come on down! On to the personal stuff. It's been another rough week for your truly, and I have to work Sunday night, so I am going to record on Monday, since I have the day off from my main job. But when I have had the time, I have been working on segments for upcoming shows. So never fear, the show is rolling and continues to do so! #arcadeemployee #arcadelife #thearcadeinbrighton #bestarcadeinmichigan #anchorpodcast #confessionsofanarcadeaddict #coaa #classicvideogames #classicarcadegames #arcades (at The Arcade) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpGvYAgu4Km/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

It's the Saturday night before Christmas here at The Arcade! We wish a safe and festive holiday season from us to you!
As for tonight, it's quiet, so if you've got your holiday shopping done and need to blow off some steam, come on down! $20 is all you need for six decades worth of arcade gaming goodness, all you can play!
Okay, on to me. This is day 13 of 13 of consecutive work days, so I'm meandering over the finish line. Even though I have the day off tomorrow, I can't rest because of the upcoming holiday and also I have other stuff to do. Trust me, at my age I need a day where I don't have to do anything, and I'm trying to make it happen.
I'm working on Episode 79, and I think tomorrow evening I'm going to stream editing it and some game play too, so by all means join me on Twitch. Twitch.tv/arcadeaddictbrian
I'm going to finish uploading the Let's Play videos to Tiktok as well, I think I'll do that tonight when I get home.
I'm looking forward to having a couple days off this coming week. The lure of getting actual sleep is very strong....

Amd here we are on chilly Saturday night here at The Arcade! It's not too busy, so if you wanna get your game on, come on down! $20 gets you in, and we have over 150 machines representing six decades of arcade gaming ready for you!
As y'all can see in the second picture, I got the GC on Pin*Bot! I had been playing this game for months just trying to consistently break a million points, and as with almost all Williams machines of that era, if you miss your shots you pay a heavy price for it. I didn't miss many on that game, and quite by accident I got the Solar Eclipse bonus of almost six million points. While that's impressive for me, who is an average pinball player at best, that's not the all time score on that machine. I've seen someone straight-nine the machine, scoring 9,999,999 points. But that's okay, I'm happy with that score. I can leave that machine alone now.
I have been feeling wiped out all week. All I have wanted to do is sleep. I hurt my right shoulder last week but it seems to be on the mend, as it's more sore than anything. I think it's time to get a new mattress, because I'm starting to get hurt while sleeping again. Getting older is not fun at all.
I think I'm going to record episode 79 tomorrow night if I don't have to go to work, as I'm on call. I'm getting back into New World, as the storyline and the low level experience is much better with the new content. I'm still playing Division 2, and once I get Splatbook 185 done for @thacoshammer, I'll get back into my D&D projects and stream them as always. Oh yeah, if things aren't too hectic tonight I'm going to record a couple of Let's Play videos for editing and posting over the Thanksgiving mini-break. And also, I plan on going up to @lastlevelfenton next Sunday. So yeah, I got plans!

And it's near the end of a busy night here at The Arcade. It started off busy and it pretty much stayed that way. But as the saying goes, tomorrow is another day! Price of admission for Sunday is just $15 for unlimited free play! I'm still in recovery mode and now my right shoulder is giving me issues. I don't think it's anything serious, but doing anything is painful even though I have full range of motion. Between that and my knee and ankle giving me problems, yeah it's not been a fun week. I was going to do a let's play tonight but I think I need to take my tired ass home after cleanup. I'm working on episode 185 of @thacoshammer, and I think my voice has recovered enough to record a new episode of COAA. I'm trying to remind myself not to take on too many things at once, that's how I got sick in the first place, but stuff needs to be done and I'm the only one that can do it. Whoever said life is fair?

And It is a BUSY night here at The Arcade! We just got the new Avatar pinball machine too! As busy as it is there always room for you! $20 gets you 156 machines representing six decades of arcade gaming.
Been another week for yours truly. I did get episode 77 out and I'm happy with the sound quality. I think I'll record episode 78 once I get the latest episode of THACOs Hammer done, and I think we will be recording a new one next Sunday. I would be down for tomorrow but I have too many things to do.
Been getting back into playing games at home, started playing a few games here at The Arcade I haven't touched in a long time, like Super Pac Man.. I think the gaming malaise has gone away, though I'm irritated that because of a bug I cannot join the 5x XP event on Division 2. I but in a ticket to ubisoft but I am not going to hold my breath on getting some kind of recompense. It would only be fair if myself and others who got this bug got the full amount of XP. We shall see what happens.

Defender is a horizontally scrolling shooter developed by Williams Electronics in 1980 and released as an arcade video game in 1981. The game is set on either an unnamed planet or city (depending on platform) where the player must defeat waves of invading aliens while protecting astronauts. Development was led by Eugene Jarvis, a pinball programmer at Williams; Defender was Jarvis's first video game project and drew inspiration from Space Invaders and Asteroids. Defender was demonstrated in late 1980 and was released in March 1981. It was distributed in Japan by Taito.
I played this game in 1980, when I was 11 years old. I know that the official release date was March 1981, but I played this game at the James E. Strates Shows in Bridgeport CT, Summer of 1980. They had at least four machines standing right by the entrance. It's entirely possible that those machines were prototypes, but they looked like every Defender machine I saw since that day.

Everyone who truly knows me knows that I have to rep for May 4th. Cmon now.
And it's Saturday evening here at The Arcade! It's fairly light right now but that's good news for you! If you got the itch for true Arcade gaming we've got you! $20 gets you unlimited free play on all our machines, representing the best of six decades!
Things are slowly starting to get back to normal for me. The last three months have been especially difficult in almost every way, but I *think* things are turning a corner a little bit. I'm going to now see about getting back on a consistent streaming schedule and I am going to get an XArcade tankstick so I can play and practice arcade gaming at home, as well as getting back to doing D&D stuff. I'm just hoping that things keep moving in a positive direction. It would be really nice. I'm going to shoot a let's play next Saturday, because I'm tired. Episode 74 recording soon!

Aaaaaaaand I'm back!
It felt good to be back at the arcade, after having to take last Saturday off. My arcade mojo took a bit of time to come back, but thankfully it did. Father Time hasn't come for me yet.
It was really busy today, as it seems is the norm for Saturdays now. Numbers are slowly ticking upwards, edging towards pre pandemic levels. Once I get this post distributed I have to clean up. That's how busy it was today.
Good thing is, we're open tomorrow! Super Bowl not your thing? Then come on down! $15 gets you in the door, and we have 137 machines representing six decades of arcade gaming waiting for you.
I recorded episode 72 earlier in the week, and I posted 71 last week. I had a couple of people ask about the podcast, and that was cool. I had a nice conversation with a guy about my age and I think his son, who were as into arcades as I was. The older guy was born and raised in Ann Arbor and told me how different Pinball Pete's was back in the 80s. I told him about places in Michigan and Chicago and he's interested in checking out Galloping Ghost. It's always good to talk shop with people bitten by the arcade bug. Another customer around my age was gushing about the place, and that's something else I love to see, people having a good time and buzzing around like it was 1981 all over again. It's awesome, what I live for at this job. I think I'll record an On The Road segment on my way home about that.

And it is positively JUMPING tonight at The Arcade! We've had steady stream of customers coming in and it not showing any signs of slowing down yet! There is still elbow room for you, however!
All you need is $20, and we have almost 140 machines representing era from the 70s to the 2020s waiting for you!
As I said in my IG reel last night, I am a tired mofo. I'm in the middle of working almost three weeks straight. I tried playing games before my shift and I just could not concentrate to save my life. Everything I played was below par, but I know what it is so I'm not too discouraged.
Provided that I am not too exhausted tomorrow night (and no guarantees), I'll stream editing episode 71, and then maybe Monday or Tuesday night after work I'll record apisode 72. As always, stay tuned.

And It is a cold and snowy night, but here at The Arcade we've got the action to keep the blood pumping! $20 is all you need for almost 140 Arcade games from six decades.
It's not as busy as it was last week, but still a passable night. With last saturday being the last hurrah for Christmas vacation we of course got slammed but hey, i'm not complaining.

And is a BUSY Saturday night at The Arcade! It was packed when I arrived and it's STILL packed right now almost three hours later! Parties of four, five and six just kept coming through the door which is what we love to see! If you don't mind rubbing elbows a little, $20 gets you in, and we have six decades of arcade games waiting for you. And what's better, we're open normal business hours on New Year's Eve, 2p-8p! So come on down!
Okay onto me. I had to re-edit and repost episode 70 because silly me forgot to put the show outro at the end of the podcast where it belongs, so when it starts you heard the intro and the outro overlapping each other. Oops. I'm thinking about recording episode 71 either tomorrow night or Monday night. We shall see. Whenever I do it, I'll be streaming the recording, warts and all. Maybe I'll play some games after that, idk.

Ans here we are, another Saturday night!
When I rolled up it was looking fairly dead and then oh boy did things change the moment I clocked in! It's still pretty busy but there's room for you! $20 cash is all you need, and we have 137 machines waiting for you!
Okay on to me. I recorded episode 70 on I think Wednesday night, and I'm going to start the editing process most likely Monday. I'm not 100% happy with the recording but I'll make it work.
Also, I've been slowly putting up past episodes on YouTube. I'm up to episode 12 there and when I find free time I post them in two or three episode blocks. I'll get caught up eventually.

And it's another Saturday night at The Arcade!
It was really busy since before the start of my shift when I get my own gaming in until maybe about 900, and it starting to slow down. But that's good news for you! $20 cash is all you need ($15 for Sunday), and we have some of the best arcade gaming this side of Chicago!
I'm slowly getting back to normal, starting to feel more like myself. My birthday was a bit of a fiasco, and I got a sore back out of the deal. Life can be like that, so I just grit my teeth and deal with it.
I plan on record episode 70 tomorrow night, and I'll be streaming it, of course. Tune in and see how the sausage is made! I might play some games or work on some D&D stuff afterward, I dunno.
