The wand was intriguing. Sombra didn’t know much about it, but videos of it in action were all over, showing an amazing amount of capability, both from the item and the designer. Both would be fun to get to know further.

And that was why, when Fantasma came into her room one evening, she would find Sombra, sitting on the bed with a bright smile, safe in the knowledge that no security would be coming to interrupt their meeting. “¡Hola! It is so nice to meet you.”

Since I already answered the question about my current situation here, let’s talk about Joe!

Heh. So. Overall, Joe isn’t in love with anyone. Well. Maybe in love with science and her work, she’s a workaholic, and not really interested in any relationships at all. She wants to be left alone. Who needs friends and lovers anyway.

But in some verses, … well, … there are feelings from her side. Even though she’d never admit that openly, like, never. (Though I wonder if she didn’t confess by accident in one case?)

So there are these weird friendships that she developed with Ana and Jack. Also, there is some kind of friendship with Salem, more or less. And the friendship with Leo. God, this friendship is gold.

Then there’s that one AU where she’s getting married with Delphine. Then there’s this one funny hateful relationship with Raiden (this might actually lead to love? maybe? one day? Who knows? I don’t. Currently they hate each other… more or less. Heh.).

But actual love? Hm.. Well, there’s this funny and weird situation with your wonderful Angela, it’s clear she likes her, probably even a little more than liking. Time will tell~

Also, there’s John, and if you ever ask her about her opinion of him, she will tell you she hates him. That she can’t stand him. And yet she hangs out with him and get’s into weird situations and cares enough to patch him up and safe him. (Well, Joe, who are you lying to, hm???)

Oh, and she’s on her best way to develop a crush on Monique. Heh. (It’s the smile~)

Ruben hummed in agreement, for a moment forgetting all that had happened and remembering the time in his life when he was so much happier than he had ever been in his entire life.

After Blackwatch disbanded, he didn’t have any skills to help him incooperate himself into the real world. Very Long story short, he was in a small band in Amsterdam as the lead pianist. Which sounds impossible now that he thinks about it.

The echoes of the upbeat jazz still fresh in his mind, he smiled at the memory. Tonight he didn’t want to think of anything else but the music, forever in his mind. Along with the one who’d introduced him to it.

“Thank you, it was very heavy to pull out” he said, going over and pulling the piano along the floorboards while the old wheels creaked. Nowadays, those wheels wouldn’t be there. The piano would just be hovering, the floor they were standing on seemed oh so very old. Older than Ruben for sure.

They got it to the back on the room, where he had found it when he arrived. Stowed away with other instruments from a time long forgotten.

“Jazz may be dead now, but it is still the best music you would ever-“ Ruben heard trucks outside the backstage door, along with police sirens. “Fuck. I have to go now, it was really good to talk!” Ruben grabbed his bag from lying beside one of the equipment and was looking around the hall for exits.

The Last Tries At Joy

The lights hung low this night, after an absolutely extravagant performance by a travelling entertainer. Had tired out there audience, making them leave afterwards as surely. Nothing could possibly come close after what they’d just seen. Why stay?

The large hall that was mainly used for underground rave parties, had very significantly weakened. What once was possibly hundreds, now mindless and tired customers along the couches and floors. Drinks in hand, the night was coming to its close. The clock on the holovid by the bar read: 4:22am.

As people began to walk out, it seemed that this club had one more song in store. What came from the stage, a small piano had been brought up. A vintage, dusty piano that probably hadn’t been played in years. With a stranger that no one had seen before behind it, sitting down and placing his hands on the keys.

What came out was a soft, quiet melody…unrecognisable to the untrained ear. A lost legacy in its note, a dead genre. The piece was called Fly Me To The Moon, by Bart Howard, 1954…

No one in the bar recognises the once famous tune. They don’t even seem to acknowledge it at all. The man behind the piano, a scruffy, familiar face. His face belonged to that of the infamous mercenary Van Gogh, or Ruben Sanders.

For a killer, to be playing a song on a piano somewhere in Graz, Austria. Completely out of the norm, yet the way his fingers danced along the keys as if he’d been doing it all his life. It seemed perfectly normal.

Jetsetting left little time to relax. Once she had a free day, having some time with friends was crucial. Having nothing going on left her too antsy for her own good. So she slipped Joe a note the previous night and waited for a response.

She nearly missed the phone ringing- one of the doves had come down with a virus after a mission. “Oh hey!” she answered. “How are you doing?” She took the dove from its cage as she listened. The little robot was turned off with a flick of a hidden switch.

“It’s a little place a friend of mine owns,” Monique said, holding the phone up with her shoulder. She got out another screwdriver, parting the feathers of the machine. “Claudette’s. You’ll like it; it’s pretty quiet. One pm good for you? I have to finish up this repair before I do anything.”

Although Joe didn’t answer any of the questions the other asked her through the phone, she listened intently to the information Monique passed her. Claudette’s. she heard of a local with that name once, however, she never visited it. Perhaps it was time to check it out.

“Sounds good to me. See you there, and don’t leave me waiting.” The scientist replied with a smirk. She’d inquire later about the repairs the other was talking about. Then, she hung up. Strangely enough, she felt a pleasant anticipation. A little distraction from work here and then was needed sometimes.

Later that same day, Joe was on her way to the cafe the other invited her to. Wearing a pair of jeans and a plain and loose pullover along with her dreadlocks tied together in a low bun, she appeared as a common civilian rather than a scientist working for a criminal organization such as Talon. Arriving in front of the entrance she wondered for a brief moment how Monique would react to such a revelation. It was only a hypothetical thought, though, as she didn’t plan to reveal that little fact at all. So, there she was, waiting for the other.
