Thought I'd try the hot chocolate bar that came with my @thealignist subscription box before the weather gets too hot. I'm proud to be repping this box because though it deals with serious issues and supports local artisans, it's also a lot of fun. I'm having a great time setting up these shots- playing with temporary tattoos and drinking hot chocolate like a ten year old 😎. I'm not so great at managing my time and I was running late by by the time I finished taking this photo. "Ruth painted our nails and fed us potato chips right into our mouths so that the nail polish could dry without being smudged. She had trimmed my hair many times, but it was the first time I'd ever had my nails painted. It was the first act in my life that defined me as a girl." ~ So I ended up reading this whole book in a day. It's heartbreaking. The protagonist grows up in a world where girls have to be made ugly, or transformed into boys to be kept safe from human trafficking, among other horrific things they must deal with in a daily basis. I often find myself reading fiction and wondering how much of it is actually based on fact. Prayers for the Stolen is the novel included in the Mexico @thealignist subscription box. The accompanying 'road map' provides statistics and information at certain parts of the novel, to help you relate the story to the reality faced by many.
