London has Big Ben, Paris has the Eiffel Tower and Dublin has this - the Spire. A large stainless steel pin-like monument 120 metres (390 ft) in height, located on the site of the former Nelson's Pillar. In the foreground is a bronze statue of Jim Larkin, an advocate for workers right. An inscription on the statue has one of his most famous quotes: “The great appear great because we are on our knees. Let us rise!” Otherwise known as the Monument of Light sits in the heart of the city like modern art in the midst of neoclassical architecture. I'd highly recommend everyone to take a walk of the median. There's lot of history told in the statues and inscriptions. . . . . . #irelandtv #irelanddaily #irelandcollective #stunningirelandd #bestirelandpics #lovingcork #daily_ireland #littlepiecesofireland #raw_ireland #irishpassion #discoverdublin #irelandloves #irelandtravel #yourwayireland #cork_daily #irish_daily #irelandsancienteast #loveireland #wildatlanticway #lovinireland #lovibdublin #dublin #ireland #thespire #oconnellstreet #dublino #europe #nikon #spireofdublin #irelandgram . . @the_full_irish @best_ireland_photos @corkcitycentre (at O'connell Street, Dublin) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByxgtVfpjDU/?igshid=9b41kccovnta

Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (locally pronounced carrick-a-reedy) is a famous rope bridge near Ballintoy in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The bridge links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede (from Irish: Carraig a' Ráid, meaning "rock of the casting"). It spans 20 m (66 ft) and is 30 m (98 ft) above the rocks below. It is the best example of a volcanic plug in Northern Ireland. Marine erosion has exposed a section through the neck of this old volcano. - #wikipedia⠀ ⠀ For some people, crossing the bridge during a windier day is NOT an option. My visit was at the end of November 2018. It was very cold, rainy, and windy. No one, including myself, turned back. ⠀ Photo credit - @diannesl ⠀ #YahnnyBlyandCo #YBCtheWorld #NorthernIreland #UK #Carrickarede #GiantsCauseway #BeautifulIreland #ExploreIreland #VisitIreland #RopeBridge #Antrim #Ireland_Daily #WanderIreland #IrelandTravel #CausewayCoastalRoute #Raw_Ireland #ExploreNorthernIreland #TourismIreland #Inspireland_ #TopIrelandPhoto #The_Full_Irish #Instairland #Wanderlust #TravelGram #TravelPhotography #NorthCoast #LoveIreland #TravelHolic #DASLPhotoandStories (at Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge - National Trust) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvhsUCQnhjI/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1c63e2cv6wyzv
