Are we ReLYING on CHARMS!!?? 

I mean I can sorta understand Mary, her father didn’t want her to get a tattoo. John easy enough to say meh too because he just learned about this literally TODAY. 

But Ada has no flipping excuse! Why isn’t it on a necklace or a bracelet like Mary  Or better yet WHY THE HELL ISN’T IT TATTOOED ON YOU!  Tattooing was a thing in the 70s so why the hell are we relying on charms!

This was so good. There was just enough familiarity to it to make it feel immediately like home and at the same time enough that is new and interesting to make it compelling and have me excited to see what’s next. Mary and John are perfectly cast. We can actually see Dean and Sam in their faces and the acting choices from Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodgers are spot on. And the writing is superb. These are well thought out characters that are clear predecessors to Dean & Sam. I could almost hear Dean when Mary was talking to John or to Latika about the people she’s lost & John’s puppy-eyed earnestness was Sam to a tee. I think the reason this show works right out of the gate like this is because it’s made by people who genuinely know and love these characters. There’s a level of respect and care here because of who these characters are where this story will eventually lead. And that gives this show immediate credibility and weight.

John reminds me so much of Sam. He’s got that same puppy face and earnest nature.

Mary is so, so like Dean. I’ve always seen so much of her in him but seeing her young and in her prime of actively hunting is really driving home how much like her he really is.
