"Why is Alola so hated?"
Someone asked this question on Reddit.
The original post:
"Other than too much dialogue what is the worst thing about Alola. Alola is my favorite Pokémon games and region for a multitude of reasons but all I hear about it is that it has too much dialogue. I can understand that but later titles have just as much dialogue especially in the beginning portions of the game. So why is such an issue in these games than any other in the series. Also you thought the GD games were dark, the Aether Family are very dark concept if you want to look into them. Anyways back on topic, why are Alola considered the worst games besides the dialogue of course"
I thought about this question and I ended up writing a lengthy reply, see below. For context I should mention that Sun and Moon were my favourite mainline stories:
"So everyone is mentioning USUM, but since I was around for the launch of the games, I may as well throw my hat into the ring and explain what went wrong:
Everyone was really excited for the games to come out, but there was generally something missing from them. Promotional material was overly vague.
When the original Sun and Moon came out they had the following issues:
The story was very handholdy. I am a GREAT FAN of the story mode, but I have never replayed these games because they are basically visual novels. If you were a Nuzlocker, someone who wanted to replay Pokemon games, or if you didn't like the story, then these versions would automatically become your least favourite because of how long it takes to reach each milestone. It's also easier than a lot of prior games, not as easy as Gen 6 or 8 but up there.
While the region is IMO one of the most cohesive, it's also one of the least expansive. The Alola Region is fucking tiny. There's not nearly as many side things to do as in generations 4 and 5, and the new things they put into the Alola games were a lot less fun gimmick-wise. I like that they abandon the grid system, it needed to go, but Pokemon team don't seem to work well in 3d.
The online multiplayer was total ass. Of course, the online only got WORSE From here on out. How you get worse than Festival Plaza is beyond me, but I think Gen 7 is definitely when Pokemon jumped from having the BEST multiplayer system on Nintendo systems in generation 6 to one of the worst. Personally I was also disappointed the Festival Plaza wasn't a bit more like the Wifi Plaza, which was already a broken terrible mess but at least had some minigames. It seemed to take the wrong inspiration from Wifi Plaza, and tragically Pokemon only went downhill with online compatibility after. Because while technically the online is more fun in gen 8 and 9, it doesn't work.
The games leaked before they came out. Everyone saw concept art of the starters' final evolutions and they were SO MAD that Litten became bipedal. But there were very few surprises in Sun and Moon for people who prowled the reddit, who also seemed to be the least excited about the games.
However, what I don't think you understand is how much LOVE they had. Of all the pokemon games I've been around for the release of, I think Sun and Moon were most unanimously loved. Everyone was talking about the story, and the incredible new designs of the alola pokemon, and yeah they were having a lot of trouble playing online, but people persisted.
When Ultra Sun and Moon came out, people were veeeeery disappointed for three key reasons:
This was a dual release "third version" instead of a sequel. Again, everyone LOVED the story of the original games, by this point it felt that the "third version" idea was dated, and people wanted a damn sequel with their favourite characters! I think BW2 set a very high bar for what the Pokemon team could offer, and unfortunately I don't think they ever met that bar again after they started making 3d games.
It was on the 3DS instead of the Switch. I was NEVER expecting USUM to be Switch games, I knew Pokemon team were not ready for Switch, but for some reason people expected Pokemon Stars to be a Switch game. Everyone was reaaaaally excited for Pokemon Switch after the console launched, but Pokemon has always belonged on the DS, and I felt it had more potential for growth on that console before moving up on the chain. Of course, after the negative reaction to USUM and the begging for Pokemon Switch, Game Freak HAD to start development on Let's Go and Sw/Sh.
The things they'd added into the game were not as impressive as the other Third Versions. Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon Platinum were objective improvements from the original, though I have some things to say about Emerald's pacing. I like the minigames from Ultra, I fell SO in love with the Camera mode!!! Spent so much time fucking around in it and still have a folder in my computer to this day. HOWEVER, the people still yearn for a Battle Frontier! The Battle Factory they put in USUM seems to be based on community, which was already a pain in the ass, and as you know, it's now impossible to play online with others, so RIP to that as well. I like the changes to the Battle Tree, I love Rainbow Rocket, but while Platinum and Emerald were NECESSARY IMPROVEMENTS from the ground up, USUM only improved some of the battles and held down everything else with more, worse cutscenes.
The story was much worse than the original, choosing to cut and change content instead of improve upon what was there. The story of Platinum and Emerald doesn't come across as worse than DP and RS, but EVERYONE thinks the story for USUM is a downgrade. The reason for this is because if Lillie was the true protagonist of the games originally, the Ultra versions tried to cut her down, but only for a couple of her most important scenes. She and Lusamine basically have every scene intact except for their most important, climactic moments. It's like if instead of BW2, they made Pokemon Grey but it was split in half, and instead of being an evil fucko gunning for world domination, Ghetsis was trying to use the power of the two Dragons to stop Kyurem from freezing the world, except he still abused pokemon, and he still abused N from childhood, and N never showed up to become champion and N never realised the truth of pokemon or turned against his father. How terrible would that be?
No remakes or anything special at the end of the gen. For the past few generations we'd either had remakes or sequels, but Gen 7 released USUM and Let's Go. It's debatable whether the Lets Go games are part of gen 7, but I wouldn't consider them remakes the same way that HGSS or ORAS are, and they are CERTAINLY not a favourite with a hardcore Pokemon audience. At least Gen 8/9 had decent DLC and Legends Arceus as a halfhearted apology note, but unfortunately there was no swan song at the end of Generation 7.
I think ultimately that's what made people go from "Gen 7 could be the best yet" to "Gen 7 bad". The launch was very strong, but the followup was the poorest out of almost any gen.
My personal opinion of USUM is it is one of the best pokemon games for general battles, I think it would be a lot more fun to nuzlocke than the original Sun and Moon, but there's a lot of better pokemon games to replay than USUM, especially if you're taking modded into account. I think sun and moon were the most immersive out of the games I've played, at the very least because it had improvements like trainer models in battles without the uncanny as hell stuff you got in the next two gens. I remember the games fondly, even if I do feel bitter about the story changes."
I thought this reply was worth sharing on this blog. I put a lot of effort into it.

New approach to working around that frustrating touchpad issue with trying to run FreeBSD and derivatives in KVM/QEMU: just giving a USB drive over to NomadBSD!
Had to get a little amused during the installation.
Tumblr media
Yeah, you should indeed maybe skip the encryption for now if you have no clue wtf you are doing. I did not want to encrypt anyway, but also have never worked with geli.
And everything so far seems to be functioning after booting back into the new install, besides the Wifi card. Support is kinda spotty on the BSD side, which is one reason I was just trying to run shit in a VM.
But, some kind soul on the forum has us covered!
Vaguely impressed again at how friendly and helpful a lot of BSD communities do seem to be. Maybe especially in comparison to some gaggles of Linux enthusiasts. (And yes, I say this as someone with plenty of experience there. 😩 Approachability is not always great, maybe especially for new users.)
So yeah, I do now have working network through tethering to this phone. Which I tried to do with something else a while back (don't actually remember what tbh), but I was glad for the little walkthrough. Especially since I am a huge n00b when it comes to BSD. A lot of stuff is just different enough to trip you up pretty fast until you get used to it.
I did a little more configuration, and ran an update on the little that came installed by default. It's late enough that I don't even want to get into a browser sufficiently to even post to Tumblr from over there tonight, but hey. Certainly planning to jump back in tomorrow.
This is looking pretty fun for now, at least. Which is at least half the point.

How to Improve WiFi Signal Strength in Every Room
Tumblr media
A strong and stable WiFi connection is essential for modern homes, ensuring seamless browsing, streaming, and work-from-home setups. However, many households struggle with weak signals, dead zones, and slow speeds. If your WiFi isn’t reaching every corner of your home, there are effective ways to enhance its strength and coverage. From upgrading your router to optimizing placement and investing in professional setup services, here’s how you can improve your WiFi signal strength in every room.
Optimize Router Placement
The placement of your WiFi router plays a crucial role in signal distribution. Many homeowners unknowingly place their routers in a corner, inside cabinets, or near other electronic devices, which can weaken the signal. Ideally, position your router in a central location, away from walls and obstructions. Elevating the router and keeping it away from appliances like microwaves and cordless phones can also reduce interference.
Upgrade to a High-Performance Router
If your router is outdated, it may not be equipped to handle multiple devices and high-speed internet demands. Investing in a modern, high-performance router with dual-band or tri-band technology can significantly improve connectivity. A quality router will offer better range and faster speeds, ensuring that your internet remains stable even during peak usage times. If you’re unsure about the right router for your home, seeking the best home wifi installation service Brisbane can help you make an informed choice.
Use WiFi Extenders or Mesh Networks
WiFi extenders and mesh networks are excellent solutions for larger homes or areas with multiple floors. While extenders help amplify signals in specific rooms, mesh networks create a unified system that delivers consistent coverage throughout the house. These systems are particularly beneficial in homes with thick walls, as they minimize dead zones and signal drops. A professional setup can ensure optimal placement for the best performance.
Reduce Interference from Other Devices
Many electronic devices operate on the same frequency as your WiFi, causing interference that weakens the signal. Baby monitors, Bluetooth speakers, and even neighboring WiFi networks can contribute to slow speeds. Switching your router to a less congested channel or using the 5GHz band can help minimize interference and enhance performance. If you’re experiencing persistent connectivity issues, consulting a home wifi installation service Brisbane expert can provide tailored solutions.
Secure Your Network
An unsecured WiFi network can be accessed by unauthorized users, leading to slow speeds and potential security risks. Always use a strong password and enable WPA3 encryption to prevent unauthorized access. Additionally, consider setting up a guest network to separate your primary connection from visitors’ devices, ensuring that your main bandwidth remains stable.
Consider Professional Installation Services
While DIY solutions can help, sometimes the best way to ensure strong WiFi throughout your home is by seeking professional assistance. A trained technician can assess your home’s layout, identify weak spots, and recommend the ideal setup for maximum coverage. If you’re wondering about the home wifi installation service Brisbane cost, it generally varies based on factors like home size, network complexity, and the need for additional equipment.
Ensuring seamless connectivity in every room requires a combination of strategic placement, hardware upgrades, and expert guidance. If you want the most reliable setup, consider hiring the best home wifi installation service Brisbane for a hassle-free and high-performance network.

okay okay, i get it. on a more serious note, i've actually had good experiences with nudging people into the direction of more free and open source options. i did work with children from the ages of around 10, teenagers, working adults and seniors for a pretty long time, all concerning programming, digital/media literacy and privacy. by nature, my club used (almost) exclusively free software, with all remote desktops running debian and us helping anyone who wanted it to install it on their own personal computers.
it's a learning curve, yes. it's hard guiding people through the trial and error that comes when you start learning about anything, not limited to how to use a desktop, software and a command line. and it's especially hard for them to learn when all they've known is something like a chromebook. you need to put work in, they need to put work in. but I believe it's definitely worth it.
one of my friends never had a computer growing up, only a phone and pretty much no affinity for anything to do with computers. a year ago, she needed a laptop for uni and asked me to help her with setting it up (we installed windows and debian as dualboot), learning how to use it, etc. today, she uses almost exclusively debian out of her own volition.
we installed a linux distro made with educational institutions in mind at a partner school and helped them set up a tech literacy program. now, many years later, almost all of the students that participated in the program (which was most of them) at least know what a folder is, how to find credible software, etc etc. some learned their love for programming, some learned they didn't like it or preffered other operating systems. that's fine, that's freedom.
during the pandemic, there were programs that installed linux on old, damaged laptops that couldn't run mightier software anymore to give to students that couldn't afford them themselves so they wouldn't fall behind as much, including tutorials on how to use them and their basic functions and 24/7 tech support.
these programs are incredibly intensive in personel, time and money, that much is true. but it's not the usage of linux-based system that makes them that way. depending on which distro you choose, linux doesn't have to be this ultra complex nerd thing. hell, some interfaces even have something akin to the microsoft/app store. you don't have to hack your way into the wifi. it can be user friendly, if you so desire. and if you desire to learn more, you can do so. because it's free as in freedom and you're *allowed* so by the license and by accessibility.
all this to say, community is important, for any type of education on tech and that doesn't change whether you give them a macbook or a relatively cheep, second hand laptop. it's an issue persisting in the current tech education landscape. so yes, i believe that linux can be a good alternative, because it gives you freedom to learn, to use and does so on a wide array of devices.
We need to lay more blame for "Kids don't know how computers work" at the feet of the people responsible: Google.
Google set out about a decade ago to push their (relatively unpopular) chromebooks by supplying them below-cost to schools for students, explicitly marketing them as being easy to restrict to certain activities, and in the offing, kids have now grown up in walled gardens, on glorified tablets that are designed to monetize and restrict every movement to maximize profit for one of the biggest companies in the world.
Tech literacy didn't mysteriously vanish, it was fucking murdered for profit.

Reducing screen brightness, disabling background apps, and enabling power-saving modes are effective ways to extend battery life. If the battery is old, replacing it might be the best solution.
2. Phone Freezing or Lagging
Another common issue is phone freezing or lagging, which can make it challenging to use apps or even navigate the phone’s interface. This problem often occurs due to:
Insufficient storage: When your phone runs out of storage space, it struggles to process data efficiently, causing delays.
Too many apps running: Having too many apps open at the same time can overload the phone’s RAM, leading to performance issues.
Solutions for Freezing and Lagging
Freeing up storage by deleting unnecessary apps, photos, and files can improve your phone’s performance. Additionally, clearing cache data and restarting the phone regularly can prevent it from freezing. If the issue persists, running a phone diagnostic software can identify hardware or software problems that may be causing performance issues.
3. Phone Wi-Fi Problems
The Wi-Fi connectivity issues are common and can range from slow speeds to an inability to connect at all. Common causes include:
Weak signal strength: If you're far from the router, the Wi-Fi signal might not be strong enough for stable connectivity.
Network congestion: Too many devices connected to the same network can cause slower internet speeds.
Software glitches: Updates or bugs in the phone’s software can sometimes interfere with WiFi connections.
How to Fix Phone Wi-Fi Problems
Experts recommend first checking the Wi-Fi signal strength. If the signal is weak, moving closer to the router can help. Additionally, restarting both the router and the phone often resolves minor connectivity issues. If the problem persists, updating the phone’s software or resetting the network settings can offer a long-term solution. Phone diagnostic software can also test the phone’s Wi-Fi module to determine if there are deeper hardware problems affecting connectivity.
4. Overheating
Overheating is a frequent issue, especially during heavy usage or while charging. Common reasons for phones overheating include:
Intensive apps: Running graphics-heavy apps, such as games or video editing tools, can overwork the phone's processor.
Environmental factors: Exposing your phone to high temperatures, such as leaving it in direct sunlight, can cause it to overheat.
Charging while in use: Using the phone while it is charging can increase its temperature, causing overheating.
Preventing Overheating
To prevent overheating, experts advise limiting the use of intensive apps and avoiding direct exposure to heat. Using an official or high-quality charger can also help regulate charging temperatures. If overheating becomes a frequent issue, using a phone diagnostic software to assess the health of internal components like the battery and processor is highly recommended.
5. Slow Charging
Slow charging is another widespread problem, particularly among older phones. This issue can arise from several factors:
Faulty cables or chargers: Using damaged or low-quality chargers can reduce charging speed.
Dirty charging port: Dust and debris accumulated in the charging port can interfere with the connection between the charger and the phone.
Battery degradation: As batteries age, they become less efficient, which can lead to slower charging times.
Improving Charging Speed
To resolve slow charging, experts suggest using the original charger or a certified replacement. Cleaning the charging port with a soft brush can help remove dirt and improve charging efficiency. If the problem persists, consider replacing the battery or having it checked by a technician using phone diagnostic software.
6. App Crashes
App crashes can be particularly annoying when you're in the middle of using an important application. These crashes often result from:
Software bugs: Apps may have bugs that cause them to crash unexpectedly.
Insufficient memory: A lack of available RAM can cause apps to crash when the phone is overwhelmed.
Fixing App Crashes
To prevent apps from crashing, ensure that your phone’s software and the app in question are both updated to the latest versions. Clearing the app’s cache or reinstalling it can also resolve most issues. Running a diagnostic on your phone can detect any underlying hardware or software issues contributing to app crashes.
Conclusion
Understanding the most common phone issues can help users take proactive steps to prevent them or seek solutions quickly. Whether it’s battery drain, WiFi connectivity problems, or overheating, these issues are often fixable with a few tweaks. For persistent or complex issues, using phone diagnostic software can offer deeper insights into what might be going wrong. If you're experiencing phone WiFi problems or any of the issues discussed, addressing them early can help extend the lifespan of your device and ensure it operates smoothly.

How to Resolve the "WiFi Says Saved But Won't Connect" Issue
In today’s digital age, a reliable WiFi connection is essential for everything from work to entertainment. So, when your device displays the message "WiFi says saved but won't connect," it can be incredibly frustrating. This issue often leaves you without internet access despite your device recognizing the network. At TekPuk.com, we understand how important a stable connection is, and we’re here to help you troubleshoot and resolve this common problem.
Tumblr media
Understanding the Issue
When your device indicates that a WiFi network is saved but won’t connect, it means that your device remembers the network and its credentials but is unable to establish a connection. This problem can arise due to a variety of factors, including network settings, signal strength, or software issues.
Common Causes
1. Weak WiFi Signal
A weak signal can prevent your device from connecting properly. If you’re too far from the router or there are obstacles between you and the router, the signal strength might be insufficient.
2. Incorrect Network Settings
Sometimes, network settings on your device or router can cause issues. Incorrect IP address settings or network configurations can prevent a successful connection.
3. Router Issues
Your router may be experiencing problems such as outdated firmware or configuration errors. These issues can prevent your device from connecting, even though it recognizes the network.
4. Interference
Interference from other electronic devices or nearby WiFi networks can disrupt your connection. This is especially common in densely populated areas with multiple networks.
5. Software Bugs
Bugs or glitches in your device’s operating system can also lead to connectivity problems. Sometimes, a software update or reset is needed to fix these issues.
Step-by-Step Solutions
1. Restart Your Device and Router
The first step in troubleshooting the "WiFi says saved but won't connect" issue is to restart both your device and your router. This can clear temporary glitches and reset the connection process.
To restart your device: Hold down the power button, select "Restart" or "Power off," wait a few moments, and then turn it back on.
To restart your router: Unplug the router from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Wait for the router to fully restart.
2. Forget and Reconnect to the WiFi Network
If restarting doesn’t resolve the issue, try forgetting the WiFi network and reconnecting:
Navigate to "Settings" > "WiFi" on your device.
Select the network you’re having trouble with and tap "Forget."
Reconnect by selecting the network from the list and re-entering the password.
3. Check for Interference
If you suspect interference is the problem, try moving closer to the router. Additionally, consider changing the WiFi channel on your router to minimize interference from other networks or electronic devices.
4. Update Device and Router Firmware
Ensure both your device and router have the latest firmware updates:
To update your device: Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Software Update" and install any available updates.
To update your router: Access your router’s settings via a web browser (refer to your router’s manual for instructions) and check for firmware updates.
5. Adjust Network Settings
If the problem persists, you may need to adjust your network settings:
Go to "Settings" > "WiFi" on your device.
Tap on the network and select "Advanced."
Ensure the IP settings are set to "DHCP." If issues continue, try configuring a static IP address.
6. Reset Network Settings
If none of the previous steps work, resetting your device’s network settings may help:

(this is another long post because I guess this is what this account has become)
How.. just how does a mouse crash your computer?!
I use arch linux on a macbook pro now. I installed it around a week ago when I found an ethernet cable because Broadcom drivers on linux is exactly like NVIDIA drivers on linux, an absolute nightmare! Now I am no stranger to arch linux, I installed it on my Lenovo N23 Chromebook a year ago. The funny thing is people say that Ubuntu is supposed to be a "just works" distro, and for literally everyone that I have seen in the linux community that has used Ubuntu, that's true. But Ubuntu has been the bane of my existence.
Oh my god! If you have seen some of my posts you would know that Ubuntu doesn't play nice with me. Now with the Bluetooth issue, it still persists on arch but what I have concluded is it's not the drivers. See my macbook pro 9,2 was made in mid 2012 and while yes it has 5ghz wifi support (funny thing is Broadcom recently revealed the first wifi chipset to support 5ghz wifi at the time because 5ghz wifi was introduced in 2012, and my macbook has that chipset lol). However the thing is my starlink uses 2.4 ghz. Why, because 5ghz yes it's fast, but the issue is reception, that's not it's strong point. Starlink on 2.4 ghz is still blazing fast and great for online gaming too if you want it. And 2.4 ghz will reach you.
Now we get to the issue, Bluetooth also uses 2.4 ghz. Now there is a slight frequency barrier, but there is still enough that those two can clash with each other and cause conflict. And the other part of this whole Bluetooth crap is that you didn't have wireless earbuds in 2012. Yes they do work on 2012 hardware, but still it works fine on my 7 year old chromebook because it was there for Bluetooth earbuds. My macbook was made in the time where you spent the same amount of time that I spend waiting for the Bluetooth manager to see my earbuds so I can pair it, untangling the giant mess of wires so you could plug in your earbuds.
but this isn't the main issue here, it's just a quirk that happens when new generation hardware meets hardware that would be experiencing planned obsolescence if it was kept on the stock OS. The main issue is something that I just recently experienced which is. random freezing that I can't recover. The only way out of these freezes is using the Ctrl+command+power emergency reboot feature that macbooks have. But then one time I had Btop open in the background and I got to see what the issue was (I also could have used journalctl but that's what I was trying to figure out at the time). The issue was the ram, it jumped from 3 gigs used out of 15.5 to 15.5 used. All the ram just ate up like that in a split second, just gone.
I was searching for answers on why a sudden memory leak would happen. I know it wasn't the memory allocator being all Hurr durr me no work. because it was just fine for the week I used it and now it quits. Literally nothing was working. I was trying the same goddamn fix over, and over, and over, and over again. I went the absolute definition of insane over this.
And then I became desperate, willing to do anything. Hell I was about to create a new bootable USB and perform a Sudo rm -rf /* on my system just because that's what it was rendering itself, absolutely nothing. And then I realized something, well not really. I found a mouse that I got from Dollar General a while back, I got it just because I felt like it. But I have been using it instead of the normal HP mouse I use on my macbook, the trackpad is a little small for me. I ended up switching my mouse back to the HP one and looking at the RAM, with the Dollar General mouse, one tab of firefox took up about 2.3 gigs of ram. and the HP mouse dropped it to 1.9. Now this could've be a coincidence. But I after testing it with multiple apps open. It became apparent that the mouse was the problem. firefox (I didn't count the tabs this time lol) and vesktop (the discord client that I use because it gives discord better linux support) which would normally be in the high 3.6 - 4 gigs of ram, now took up the former 1 tab firefox's 2.3. I went more and switched the mice in the same session and the ram instantly went from 2.3 to bouncing around 2.4 - 2.5. now this could be coincidental, but as I said I didn't count the tabs, so it could've been just one tab. Now as I'm writing this I have 3 tabs of firefox open and vesktop is open as well and we are sitting at 3.2 gigs with the normal mouse, but we aren't bouncing around like crazy like we were with the DG mouse.
It really confuses me how a mouse, can cause an entire system to be unstable. All it does is it uses a small camera and it takes thousands of pictures. And then it uses this data to calculate which direction it moved and how much distance it covered in that direction. It then sends a command to move the cursor from point A to point B, and it does this thousands of times a second. so it's crazy that something that issues a simple task for a computer can cause instability and crash the entire system. However I have done research, and I am not the only one who experiences memory leaks caused by a mouse. And it's not even with dollar general mice either. I have seen people experiencing issues with more name brand mice. I came across one that was experiencing issues with a razer deathadder v2 pro. Now what I'm thinking along with the razer mouse guy is that it's the polling rate. I have seen a video a while back where someone experienced issues with their mouse not crashing their computer. But tanking the FPS in their games, and it was all in the polling rate. Now it would be easy for a razer mouse because it has software, but a dollar general mouse is a different story. Now I don't really care about the dollar general mouse not working because you know what, I have a mouse that I have been fine with and my macbook has been fine with it too.
But yeah, some food for thought is that some mice can cause instability, crash your computer and cause bad performance.

Troubleshooting Weak WiFi at Home: Quick Tips for Better Connectivity
Are you struggling with weak wifi in the house? You’re not alone. Many households face issues with slow internet speeds and poor connectivity, which can disrupt work, entertainment, and communication. Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to improve your WiFi signal and ensure a more stable connection.
Optimize Router Placement
The location of your router significantly impacts signal strength. Place it in a central location, ideally elevated on a shelf or mounted on a wall. Avoid placing it near thick walls, metal objects, or electronic devices that can cause interference.
Reduce Interference
WiFi signals can be disrupted by other electronic devices and neighboring networks. Use a WiFi analyzer app to find less congested channels and switch your router to one of those. Additionally, consider using the 5 GHz band if your router supports it, as it tends to have less interference than the 2.4 GHz band.
Upgrade Your Equipment
Older routers may not support the latest WiFi standards and speeds. Investing in a new router with Wi-Fi 6 capabilities can significantly enhance your network performance. If you have a large home, consider a WiFi system to ensure consistent coverage throughout.
Manage Network Load
Too many devices connected to your network can strain your WiFi, leading to slower speeds and weaker signals. Prioritize bandwidth for critical devices using Quality of Service (QoS) settings on your router. Disconnect devices that are not in use, and if necessary, upgrade your internet plan to accommodate higher usage
Check for ISP Issues
Sometimes, the problem lies with your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Run a speed test to ensure you get the speeds you’re paying for. If issues persist, contact your ISP for assistance or consider switching providers if they cannot resolve the problem
Following these tips can improve your WiFi signal and enjoy a more reliable internet connection throughout your home.
