i admit i do think that no matter what odysseus chose zeus would still kill his crew
#it's like. the way he's empathizes how he's a just god coming to punish them for their crime#and odysseus DIDN'T do the crime. even if he chose himself it wouldnt have an aspect of punishment on the crew since they already resent him#and zeus wasn't judging for all the shit odysseus did it was specifically for killing the cows.#so like. imo if odysseus chose to sacrfice himself zeus would go 'see this is why you're the mortal and im the god of justice'#and still kill eurylochus and co.#the whole thing for me feels like extended mockery over odysseus#like. there's only one outcome. they both know this#epic the musical#the thunder saga
