I'd like to think that somewhere, Graham Casner is both very proud at how Irina is handling this situation and murderously furious at Es, Lewis, and Jason.

Fascinating that besides the unexpected bad weather in both storylines, the two main threats this season have been (at least for now) decidedly unsupernatural in origin, with our protagonists separately facing human traffickers and terrorists. I’m wondering exactly how all this will play out in the long run; the continued thread of the horror of sudden weather phenomena shines through though, and the show still maintains that specific White Vault feeling throughout. The scene in ep 2 where Dís struggles to get a new flight in the airport manages to be endlessly engrossing. I dont know how KA Statz does it, but she manages to make scenes like that feel so authentic and simultaneously fraught and tense.

I feel like not enough people are talking about the new season of The White Vault (Goshawk) on here?? Saw a couple of takes about it being slow/boring, so I’ll put my opinion out there: it’s SO SO GOOD. The sound design is genius as always, the acting, writing, building the general unease… It’s tragic and clever! It’s creepy! I really urge you not to miss out on it!
P.S. I haven’t listened to Echoes btw (people are saying that the stories are connected)

October is coming everyone, and aside from the obvious reasons to love October (such as leaves, donuts, pumpkins, weather, sweaters, mazes, parties, costumes, candles, candy, baking, scary stories, and everything else that is beautiful and perfect) another piece of this fine, favorite season of mine is the return of THE WHITE VAULT, THAT'S RIGHT BOYS, WE'RE COMING BACK

Happy audio fiction Sunday! This week brought a new season of Within the Wires, the pilot episode (and crowdfunding campaign) of @theholmwoodfoundation, and a very emotional episode of @starstrider-productions' The Pilgrimage Saga!

Horrifying to have such human and intentionally cruel and sadistic villains this season. Despite the eldritch beings of the last 5 seasons being cognizant and fucked up enough to demand sacrifices, there was something comforting about their alien lack of understanding about the depths of the harm they were causing. Listening to Es (and Lewis) take pleasure in torturing Jean and toying with Iffy, it’s truly nauseating in how intentional the cruelty is. They’re not even ruthless efficient pragmatists, they’re barely capable hunters, they’re doing it this way because they want to.
