From the start they were willing to accept how messed up their world is, and that’s the whole damn reason they know this isn’t right either! 

These brats have gotten so damn far because they did what this world would never allow. They remembered. They remembered the places they’ve been and the people they’ve met. Stubborn idiots who gave their lives for them, and poor bastards who could only watch as others died, fighting tooth and nail so not a single damn one of them would be in vain. They….we’ve lost so much…and this piece of shit world would rather forget every single one of them!

Imperfection is what makes us human! And for some of us, suffering is all we have to live for! You get it?!  For me, the anger it bore is the only thing I've got left!

So if this world says that’s wrong, THEN IT CAN PISS OFF!  I ain’t telling you this shit as a soldier for Chaldea, and I ain’t even telling you as a servant! I’m tellin’ this goddamn tree of yours as someone who gave into suffering and corruption long ago! I’m telling you as someone who knows hate and anger better than I do my own goddamn self! Who knows the difference between the two better than anyone else!

For us who can only suffer - who know that all that awaits us is more pain - ya know what keeps us from giving up and losing our goddamn minds?! Ya know what the hell it is that keeps our burning souls alight, even when we know we’ll never find peace?! 

It’s what this dumbass world thinks we’d be better off without!

It’s the memories of what we’ve lost! The memories of who we’ve lost!  The memories of why we fight! The memories of those who died so we could live! The memories of countless sacrifices made to get us where we are now! And above all, the knowledge that if they suffered to protect us, THEN ONE DAY OUR SUFFERING JUST MIGHT HAVE MEANING AS WELL!

So if this shitty tree or an asshole god thinks it can take all that away… …if it thinks it can halt death by my hand, or outlast the immortality of this blade… …IF IT THINKS THAT I’LL STOP EVEN WHEN MY ARMOR BREAKS AND MY SOUL IS ASH… IF IT THINKS WE’LL EVER GIVE UP ON EVERYONE THAT GAVE US A REASON TO KEEP PUSHING FORWARD,
