The bee hummingbird's breeding season is March–June, during such time males court females by producing sound with there tail feathers. If success the two shall mate, with the female then constructing a cup shaped nest out of cobwebs, lichen, and tree bark some 9.8 to 16.4ft (3 to 5m) off the ground.
