I hope I can send this in. It’s an idea of something you could write one day .. like a blurb or something. idek. Bleh.
BUT I DIGRESS -
Flip and you are at a cabin in the woods. Y’all have traveled a great length and your cabin is lakeside. You two have plenty of pent up ‘energy’ so you put on your swimsuits and head out to the water. Eventually y’all are a tangled mess of limbs and you can’t tell who’s who, by the sounds you’re making, a nun would blush.
🖤
A/N: @preshprinceofstarkiller I really hope you enjoy this one! I poured as much smut as I could with a shit load of fluff wrapped around it because I love a sappy Flip/Reader dynamic!
Warnings: Married banter, lots of cuddles and kisses, FLUFF out the asshole, public sex, outdoor sex, public nudity, hair pulling, dirty talk, creampies, just all kinds of SMUT
The sweet smell of a morning cup of brew, pine trees, and the crisp September air filled your senses as you sat on the wooden lawn chair on the deck of your lakefront cabin. Wrapped up in a wool blanket, in your favorite sweater, admiring the sounds of the lake crashing up on the beachfront, and the nature rustling about in the morning sun. It was perfect. The best idea you and Flip had decided to make in several months.
He, being so burnt out on work, as usual with his large caseloads, wanted to get away for a few days. The two packs of smokes a day indicating he had just had it up to his forehead with Ron, Trapp, and Bridges reaching down his throat for answers. Flip had always been a naturally grouchy person, it was just something you’d gotten used to. But when he would get to point of being angry with you over idiotic matters, like for instance, the dishes not being rinsed out properly, then you knew it was just about time to head out of town.
“Good morning, sunshine,” his sleep ridden voice ground out as he approached with his cup of coffee in a sweatshirt, and sweatpants that left nothing to the imagination.
“Good morning to you too honey,” you craned your neck as he lowered his warm face to your lips, pecking it with the slightest effort.
“Did you sleep, okay mountain man?” you asked as he cozied up to you, wrapping his body around yours in the straining chair.
“Honestly, I slept better last night than I have in months,” he chuckled out into the air as you stroked the bedhead he’d given himself.
“I know. I heard you snoring all night,” you giggled lowering to kiss his crown, “sounded like there was a bear in our bed all night.”
“Psh,” he smirked burying himself more into your clothed body, “it wasn’t as loud as you howling my fuckin’ name last night I bet.”
“Excuse me?” you tried to pry his large head up to get him to say that phrase again to your face, ultimately failing in the process as he gripped your waist even tighter at the sensation of your straining.
“I didn’t say shit, sweetheart,” he murmured back into the mess of sweatshirts and blankets, “only that I love you, so much!”
“Uh-huh… That’s what I fuckin’ thought,” you returned to grab your cup, taking a sip as you chuckled over his comments.
“I love you too sweetie. I’m so glad we’re up here,” moving his curls to expose his ear, playing with the soft lobe.
“Same here. I fuckin’ needed this,” nuzzling his face into you more and more, “I need something else though.”
“And what is that my poor baby?” you asked in a pandering way to mimic his childlike form in front of you.
He muttered something incoherent into the blankets, “honey, I can’t hear you,” leaning down to wrap your soft lips on his ear.
“I said, I want to go skinny dipping… with you,” he looked up hair in all sorts of places, his sleepy face blinking the light back into his adjusting pupils.
You giggled at the sight of him all discombobulated, “oh babe… I would hope you’d only want to do something like that with just me!”
Grabbing his rosied cheeks, bringing him into another series of kisses, starting from pecking to a little more romantic, “of course it would be you, honey, who the fuck else would do it?”
He smirked into your lips, “I don’t know, maybe a mistress of yours or somethin’,” egging on his sarcasm, “your mom did tell me at our wedding mind you, that you were hard to pin down.”
He lifted himself off of you, “no she fuckin’ didn’t,” he looked shocked at the admission you made.
“She honestly did,” you sipped back at your coffee, “but she countered it with the notion that she had never seen you as happy as you were with me,” so you can’t be mad at her.
“Well I kinda am now,” he huffed, “I can’t believe she’d say that on our wedding day… holy shit mom. I’m gonna give her a good talkin’ to when we get home.”
“No, you aren’t, grouch,” you asserted, “she didn’t mean anything by it. Now let’s go skinny dipping before I die of old age,” you punched his arm, “plus I wanna see that ass in the sunlight.”
He smirked at your comment, getting up with a groan and helping you from your seat. As you started to walk in front of him he slapped your ass with all the force he had built up in him, “Jesus fuck Phil!”
You turned around, “now I’m gonna have a handprint there!” you rubbed the sore cheek, wincing as your hand rubbed the area.
“That’s the point babe,” I wanted to look at my ass with my handprint on it while I fuck ya on the beachside.”
You blushed at the notion, hurrying in the house to remove any piece of clothing the both of you had been wearing. After your nakedness was revealed, you grasped your tits in your arm, “race ya down there, detective,” bolting in the direction of the back door, revealing your natural form to the sun and all of nature’s creatures as you bounded down the hill towards the beach.
Little did you know, Flip was gaining on you in bounds, coming up behind your bouncing ass and scooping you over his shoulder in a fireman’s carry.
“Oh my god honey!” you screamed, holding onto his back for dear life, “you’re gonna break something!”
“Shut the fuck up!” he yelled back, “you know you’re lighter than air to me honey!”
You groaned as he lowered you onto the warm beachfront, the sound of waves brushing the pebbles like a song. You both took an inventory of the sight around you, breathing in the mountain air, admiring every sound emanating from the scenery.
Flip came up behind you, wrapping his large arms around you as you both rocked side to side with the ebbing and flowing of the waves. He kissed the top of your head, trailing down to your ear, whispering sweet nothings as his lips gnawed at the sensitive skin. Moving his hands to grasp onto your open tits, massaging the pillows with his large paws, eliciting a moan from your lips.
“God I love you, Y/N,” he whispered moving down your neck, sucking little marks along the way as you found a hand in his thick hair, gripping it slightly at the pressure he applied to your neck.
“I-I love you too, Phil,” you gasped out, feeling his hardening erection on your ass. Your hand snaked around to grip his dick, pumping it so you felt every angry vein bulging from it. Gathering the precum building up around his weeping head, rubbing it into the warm skin.
Just then, he replaced your hand with his as he lined up with your wetness that had built up. Sliding his pulsing cock into your weeping entrance, “F-fuck honey,” he groaned out, “open up for me.”
You bent forward, allowing his cock to penetrate you deeper and deeper. Your walls vibrating around him as he came closer to your cervix, “you are so fuckin’ tight, babe,” he thrust in hard, balls slapping, “no matter how many times I fuck this little cunt.”
He moved a hand on your hip and wrapped another in your hair, pulling until your back was arched in the most magical way, “Ohm-my god honey,” you wailed, “t-that feels…”
“Uhmm… feels good huh,” he thrust in a little faster, tightening the hold on your hip and hair.
“God you look so fuckin’ beautiful right now,” his gyrations in full force as the sounds of slaps penetrated the mountainside.
“So. Fuckin’. Perfect,” he pronounced as he reveled in your screams and cries for release. The more he pulled your gorgeous locks, the more your walls fluttered around him.
“Phil,” you bawled out, “c-can I p-please c-cum.”
“You wanna cum honey?” he growled out, keeping his pace steady and unwavering as he rearranged your guts in the best way he possibly could.
“Y-yes, please baby!” you relented writhing under his powerful strokes. He moved his hand from your hip to your aching clit, rubbing small, but fast circles, bringing you to the edge of an ear-shattering orgasm.
“Mother f-fucker,” you groaned out, releasing your pent up frustrations into the wind, your cunt milking his cock the hardest it possibly could.
“That’s it, honey, cum all over it,” he kept his thrusting up, becoming more erratic the more your walls clenched down on him.
“Fuck honey,” he stammered out through his clenched teeth, pumping his cock a few more times into your vibrating hole, then releasing his hot sticky spend onto your walls, coating them in a donut glaze.
“Jesus fuckin’,” he gasped out, pulsing the last of his spend as he pulled his softening erection from your pussy, watching the mixture pour out of your gaping hole.
He ran his hands down the expanse of your back, rubbing your ass cheeks in a massage of sorts, watching and listening to the wetness seeping from your cunt, admiring the sight more than the nature surrounding the both of you.
“Fuck you take my cum so well, honey,” he scooped the remainder dripping out to stuff it back in your overstimulated wetness.
“Only for you baby,” you panted, lifting your back upright once again, and turning to your sweat sheened husband, to place your hands on his chest and look up at him in total bliss.
“I love you, Phil,” you stroked him, leaning into a kiss.
“I love you most,” he whispered out, “but can we please go swimming now? I’m so fuckin’ hot,” he laughed as you nodded up towards him. Taking your hand he led you into the cold embrace of the lake before you.
The remainder of those few hours were spent swimming and fooling around like the both of you were in high school. Scaring each other in the water, him putting you on his shoulders, racing around the bay, and floating to admire the skyline that Tahoe provided for you.
It was definitely a vacation much needed and well deserved.

Title: take a chance on me
Pairing: Wave/Pang
Ao3 link
It’s a coincidence that the placement exam falls on the Monday following Pang’s 18th birthday, but Wave has an inkling that the administration purposely scheduled it this way in an attempt to foil what should be a happy day with stress.
Pang has long refused to do anything in celebration of his birthday because, for one, it’s a Sunday this year and no one does anything worth doing on Sunday nights, and two, he’s never been much of a fan of his birthday anyway. He doesn’t hate it or anything; there’s probably a spectrum of some kind where on the far end resides Ohm, cake-obsessed and always ready to pop balloons in his own face; on the opposite is someone who had a dramatic trauma occur on their birthday and now despises it terribly; and in the middle is Pang.
He just doesn’t care all that much about giving a big hoorah about it. When he was a kid, sure; being little means action figures and colouring books and all the things that make a birthday worth having. But being older, the most he’ll get is a bit of money or a kind Facebook message from his relatives.
The most worthwhile part of the day has always been waking up to his baby sister smushing her hands onto his face and insisting that she give him a birthday blessing in the form of a smooch, a loud smack of her rosebud lips on the bridge of his nose. His mother will prepare breakfast and dinner and the family will share the meals, but the time between is just dull. What’s there to celebrate about being another year older? All he’s ever found is that adults don’t listen and don’t care, age notwithstanding, and the poorly-maintained planet is just another sun-cycle closer to destruction.
Because he knows Pang, Wave knows all this too.
His birthday had always been a nice event in his household, way back when his parents were around; they made him feel necessary to their lives and reminded him that he should view every day (birth-date or not) as a gift. In the years after their passing, he would have thought that his birthday would become one of those traumatic, avoidable occasions. Instead, it became the one day out of the remaining 364 that brought him close to his parents even in death, and he cherishes the few hours in that day where he can feel like they’re keeping a special eye on him.
Wave also knows that trying to force someone to feel the same about anything is tricky at best and offensive at worst. When he commissions Ohm’s help in preparing Pang’s birthday ‘surprise,’ he’s doing it with the purest of intentions in the hopes that he can brighten Pang’s opinion of his birthday, not to shove his own down Pang’s throat.
He’s anxious, to say the least, but this last-minute plan came only a week before when they found out the set date of the placement exam. It would mean their plan would go into action and if they succeeded, the surprise could be a way to further cheer Pang’s high spirits. Should they fail, Wave would pray that the surprise might cheer Pang’s disappointment.
So it’s to his ultimate relief when Pang comes out of his meeting with the Director victorious, and Wave’s heart feels fit to burst from his chest as he can finally shriek into the walkie-talkie that they’ve done it. They actually pulled through, just like he’d believed they could all along. Looks like Pang’s usual optimism rubbing off on Wave wasn’t for nothing.
He hasn’t moved from his seat at the head of the table, still waiting for Pang’s arrival despite having allowed the others to use the ridiculous Silly-Spray and mini-confetti cannons prematurely. But, God, Pang’s a sight for sore eyes when he finally walks in, his hands bashfully shoved into his pockets, an amused glint in his eyes at his friends’ antics. He also looks exhausted, but the shouts of the Gifted bring a smile to Pang’s face that has Wave smiling as well, standing to join them in their raucous cheers of success.
He doesn’t want to shove into Pang’s moment with their friends and is content to just take in the happiness that they’ve all been waiting a year and a half to feel. He can’t believe they’ve actually made it to this point. Wave lets himself get caught up in the manic energy of the group, ducking behind the fishing hat he’d stolen ages ago from Pang and doing what he can to avoid the haphazard aims from Ohm’s double-cans of Silly-Spray. Those may not have been the best idea, in hindsight.
Regardless, Pang’s sporting a euphoric smile and in the moments that Wave catches a glimpse of him, he can feel himself grinning wider too… even with his arms covered in multi-coloured rubber string and confetti bits.
They’re so tired, but it’d been so worth it to be here now, together. The group share hugs amongst themselves before departing and Wave has to actively try not to tear up, that’s how soft he’s become. And he doesn’t even give a shit. The hugs given to Pang are extra tight, the looks thrown Pang’s way extra thankful and admiring, and he deserves every bit of it.
Once the room is cleared out and the remaining two boys are left in the hall, Wave turns to Pang, suddenly hesitant. He has no reason at all to be, except for maybe the stupid wink Ohm had tossed at him before leaving. Getting his mess of an ass involved in this had been ludicrous on Wave’s end, but you live and learn.
Pang leans against a wall to cover his face with his hands, and Wave is about to become concerned when Pang pushes his fingers up into his hair and reveals a beaming smile. He shakes his head and looks at Wave.
“I can’t believe we did it,” he says.
“I can,” Wave replies. “I told you we’d get our win.”
“It’s one thing to say it, but to actually…” Pang gives another shake of his head. “Everything’s going to change. We get to be in the Gifted again, for real; we can be seen together around school—”
“No more solo lunches at the canteen,” Wave agrees, already looking forward to being able to sit with the others. It’s almost embarrassing how much he’s missed their table. There’s a pause, and then Wave says, “I need to go up and check out the gear. Could use a hand.”
Pang nods easily, hands in his pockets, and follows after Wave for the back staircase that leads to the roof. Wave is still nervous, but he knows he doesn’t have to be. He focuses on keeping his breathing relatively normal as he pushes open the door onto the rooftop. He stands back to allow Pang to step up as well.
Pang’s relaxed grin melts into amused confusion at the sight before him, in the space where years ago were crates and assorted Ritdha items have now been settled a few containers atop a blanket. He looks at Wave with that same amused confusion on his face but wanders over to the spot with Wave trailing just slightly behind.
“I know you don’t like your birthday that much,” Wave starts, “but I…” Pang turns to look at Wave, who’s definitely red-faced and unable to hide it under the late-morning sun. “This is the first year we’re together for it, and I wanted to do something special. And now with today’s success,” he hurries to add, “it’s… fitting.”
Pang must recognise Wave’s worried frown because he smiles and takes Wave’s hand. “I don’t care about my birthday, but I wouldn’t say no to celebrating if it’s with you,” he tells him, and it’s such a relief that Wave can’t even roll his eyes at Pang’s line. He knows it isn’t a line anyway; Pang has never been anything but devastatingly sincere in every word he’s said to Wave.
His kindness is so much of the reason why Wave wants to return it tenfold, hence a picnic in their spot. It’s cheesy and romantic and all the things Wave never thought he’d want to share with anyone. Maybe more that he never thought he’d have anyone to begin with. But here he is. Here they are.
Pang pulls Wave down onto the blanket and asks, “So, you did this all yourself?”
“I had… some help.”
Able to read Wave like a book, Pang grins. “That explains the bickering that went on between you and Ohm.”
“How?”
“He knew about this and you were worried he’d let the secret out, so you argued all day because you couldn’t say what you actually wanted to. Next time, pick someone who you have more faith in to cover you.”
“He can become invisible!” Wave reminds Pang. “That comes in handy when you have to sneak on to the roof at five in the morning and set up a picnic.”
“Fair enough.”
Aware of Pang’s eyes on him, Wave purposely doesn’t look at him. If he does, he’ll just blush again and no one wants that. Except for Pang, likely, because he’s a sadist.
“So what d’we have?” Pang pops the lid off one of the containers and grins down at the cut melon. Next is the apple slices, and a couple bags of dried and flavoured seaweed. Wave had even prepared sparkling grape juice for the occasion, which he thought was a nice touch at the time but now feels sort of embarrassed about. But Pang appears thrilled by it all, so Wave tells himself that he’d done alright.
“Alright? Wave, I can’t believe you did all this for me.”
Wave realises that he’d spoken aloud, which would be horrifying if Pang weren’t looking at him like Wave had painted the galaxy’s design just for him. He could shrug off Pang’s words and let the moment pass into another conversation, or he could be honest.
“You deserve it. I I know you were scared to face the Director earlier; I know you weren’t sure you’d make it out with anything resembling success. But you did it. You did that. You spent your 18th birthday trying to figure out how we could win and we did.” Wave pauses, reaching for Pang’s hand even as his brain tells him he’s making a fool of himself. “I wanted to have something to thank you for… for the last year.”
“You guys let me lead; I didn’t do anything.”
“Not just that. I meant—being with me.” Pang’s eyebrows furrow and he tightens his hold of Wave’s hand. “I wasn’t in a good space when we met, you know that better than a lot of them still might. But you partnered with me the first time around against the Director, and again last year when I told you how I felt.”
Pang smiles at the memory, although there’s a bit of sadness too. They’d confessed on the night of Namtaan’s accident, and their happiness at the admission was bittersweet because of its catalyst. “You said I’d be an idiot to bet on you,” Pang recalls. “And you remember what I said?”
“You…” Wave can’t help but smile too. “You told me you’d be an idiot not to.”
“And I was right, as always,” Pang says, joking and fond. He secures an arm around Wave’s shoulders so that he can tug him against his right side in a hug. He puts his chin on Wave’s head and repeats, softer, “I was right.”
Wave squeezes his eyes closed behind his glasses, trying not to cry. He’s so absurdly fortunate to be Pang’s anything that sometimes the reminder that he’s his boyfriend is staggering.
“Thank you for this, Wave,” Pang says. “Seriously.”
Wave lifts his fingers to Pang’s left cheek so that he can print a kiss onto the other, but he doesn’t reply as he settles back against Pang’s side.
“Your birthday’s in a couple months,” Pang says after a minute. “We’ll do anything you want.”
“This is fine,” Wave says. This is everything, he doesn’t say.
“We’ll see,” Pang says, mysterious. Another few moments pass before he asks, “So, are we going to be roommates now?”
Wave snorts, lips ticking up into a grin. “I guess.”
“We could do a quad with a couple of the other guys. Don’t get any funny ideas.”
“You’re the worst,” Wave says, though he conveniently doesn’t explain why.
Pang kisses the top of Wave’s hair and Wave can feel his smile even then. “Love you.”
“Love you,” Wave says, obviously, his voice threaded with emotions he doesn’t care to dissect.
He just settles onto Pang’s chest and lets himself breathe as Pang’s arm slides from his shoulders down to instead cradle Wave’s waist. The breeze is lovely, and they won today. They can afford to have this moment.

Our gift to the world - Episode 3
Summary: Episode codas of an established Pang/Wave in The Gifted Graduation. Episode 3- A conversation between Pang and Ohm after THE speech, and a warm and emotional Wave hearing it all.
Previous parts : Ep.1 / Ep.2
Next parts : Ep.4 / Ep.5 / Ep.6 / Ep. 7 / Ep. 8
Series on Ao3
Notes : Because Wave’s character development came to slap me in the face during that speech, and my main thought was how proud Pang must have felt hearing it. The fond look on his face while Wave was speaking not helping matters at all.
Wave is walking back towards the room where they usually hold their meetings, two small bottled waters held in each of his hands for him and Pang, when he hears his name being spoken from inside the room and he stops in his tracks.
“When are you and Wave going to tag team the newbee to co-parent him into seeing the errors of his ways ?” he hears Ohm ask lightly.
Well, there’s no way he’s entering the room now, only to end up facing Ohm’s unrelenting teasing.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he hears his boyfriend answer. “But I’m not sure I really want to know where this is going.”
“Oh come on Pang ! You have to know that you and Wave are totally the parents in our group of friends. And between your earnest puppy eyes as you explain to Time how you’re disappointed because we were counting on him, and Wave’s eternal glare as he explains where he went wrong with basically… well, his entire life, probably. It’s bound to work and bring him back to Team Gifted !”
Wave rolls his eyes when he hears the boy’s passionate speech, but he remains standing where he is, curious to hear Pang’s answer.
“First, I’ve said everything I needed to say to Time. I give up, I’m done with him,” Pang says, voice hard.
Wave hears Ohm’s answering hum, doubt evident in the tone of his voice, and he can’t help but think that Ohm really does know his best friend well.
Because giving up really isn’t part of Pang’s vocabulary, and if Wave knows anything about his boyfriend, it’s that the man never simply gives up on people, always the optimist. It’ll take a few days of him licking his wounds to get over the treason he felt when Time turned his back on them, but Wave knows that Pang will then reach out to him again and try to help, like he always does.
Pang is soft that way, in a way that Wave himself doesn’t fully understand, but loves him for anyway.
And Ohm is also right about how he’ll be there to glare at Time, while Pang talks to him. This kid has already upset and caused Pang enough grief, there is absolutely no way he’s letting him make things worse.
Wave may have mellowed down a little these past couple of months, but at heart he is still the same cold hacker, and he won’t hesitate to destroy the other man’s life and electronically erase any trace of his existence if he keeps on hurting Pang.
“And second,” Pang continues, and Wave has almost forgotten what him and Ohm were talking about. “I don’t have earnest puppy eyes, and Wave doesn’t spend his time glaring.”
Wave snorts quietly at the words, not wanting the two other boys to hear him yet. Because yet again, Ohm knows them both well. Pang definitely has a look, so earnest that it makes you re-evaluate your entire life and do anything he says, even without him using his gift. And he himself… well. Let’s just say he knows himself enough to know that glaring is definitely his go to way of communicating in many instances.
“I guess you’re right about that,” Ohm admits, pulling Wave out of his thoughts. “I can’t really say he glares all the time and is all grumpy anymore, not after that uplifting speech he gave earlier.”
Pang doesn’t say anything in answer for a while, but Wave can picture the smile and fond look his boyfriend must be sporting right now, the exact same ones he gave him earlier while he was making his speech, and Wave feels his cheeks heat up.
“It was a good speech,” his boyfriend finally says, pride evident in his voice, which warms Wave’s heart. “And you guys should stop teasing him when he does things like this. You know it’s still difficult for him,” he finishes sternly.
Such a Pang thing to do, Wave thinks fondly.
Of course his boyfriend was going to stand up for him, even if it was unnecessary, and even towards their own friends.
“You know we only tease because we care about him,” Ohm defends himself, and Wave can picture him rolling his eyes at his boyfriend’s protectiveness. Wave will never admit it out loud, but he does sort of love it. “He’s our friend, he knows that.”
Not entirely true, Wave thinks to himself once again.
He’s starting to understand, because they spend so much time together that he sees that the way the others treat him is similar to the way they act with each other, and because of Pang’s repeated reassurance that they are indeed his friends too. Still, he struggles with the idea that they do genuinely care about him, sometimes.
‘Patience’, is what Pang always says. His boyfriend is always telling him that he needs to show more patience towards himself, and that it’ll take time for him to fully believe they care. But he’s getting there.
“Still,” said boyfriend starts to argue, before Ohm cuts him off.
“I know, I know. I’ll back off, and I’ll tell the others to do the same,” he relents, and Wave hears Pang thank him quietly in response.
“You’re good for him, it’s crazy how much he’s changed since you two got together. It’s like he’s a completely different person sometimes,” Ohm muses, and Wave is surprised at the words.
He hadn’t realized that it was this evident for the others in the group, seeing as they hadn’t been very close before. Still, he supposes that with the time they spend together now, it was stupid of him not to think that they wouldn’t realize that he feels more at ease now than he did months ago.
“Actually, I don’t think he’s changed that much,” Pang says quietly, seemingly deep in thought, and Wave leans closer to the door so as to not miss a word coming out of his boyfriend’s mouth, surprised at his answer.
“I think this has always been him, and he’s just comfortable enough around us now to show us more of who he really is. It has nothing to do with me, it’s all him and his work,” Pang continues, the care he feels for Wave evident in his voice, and Wave feels his throat tighten at the words.
Pang is wrong though, Wave has to admit. His boyfriend once again selling himself short. It really is entirely thanks to him, that Wave feels safe enough to actually drop the walls he usually keeps around himself to push other people away and protect himself. It’s thanks to him, that he feels safe enough to be more like his old safe, without fearing it’ll come back to kick him in the butt later.
I should make sure Pang knows that, Wave notes, wanting his boyfriend to know how he’s truly changed his life for the better.
“Plus, it goes both ways, you know ?” Pang breaks the silence after a minute, pulling Wave out of his musings.
He hears a questioning noise coming from Ohm, and feels thankful towards the other boy, curious to know what Pang means by that himself.
“I mean that I used to think that it was me against the rest of the world. That I had to fight everything and everyone by myself, and it was lonely. Sure, I had you and Namtarn and you were amazing friends, which helped a lot. But it isn’t until Wave that I fully understood that I didn’t have to go at it alone, that I could rely on all of you for help. It’s also thanks to him that I’m even with you today, having this conversation.”
Hearing the words coming from his boyfriend’s mouth, Wave feels silent tears drop onto his cheeks in emotion, quickly wiping them away with the sleeve of his jacket.
Of course, he knows how much Pang cares about him, and intellectually, he knows that Pang gets something out of their relationship too. But sometimes, Wave can’t help but think that their relationship must feel very one-sided for Pang, what with him being the one to guide Wave through life as often as he does.
It warms his heart to hear that he’s also been of help to Pang, and that they truly are partners in everything.
“Like I said, I think you’re good for each other,” Ohm ends up answering, and Wave feels a tide of gratefulness for their goofy friend. Plus, he has to agree with him. Pang truly is one of the best things that’s happened to him, and he hopes the reverse is equally true.
“You should have seen him when you weren’t with us anymore,” Ohm reminisces. “It was so obvious how much Wave was fighting to do everything in his power to bring you back into the fold, and how much he had to stop himself from walking over to you and just blurting it out to you all the time. I think he really missed you and it was hard for him.”
Wave is surprised at the words. Not that they aren’t true, because it really had been a difficult time for him, but he’s surprised Ohm even noticed. His friend really was more perceptive than Wave had previously given him credit for, hiding it all behind his goofy attitude.
“I know,” Pang whispers in answer to his friend’s words, and Wave feels a shot of pain in his heart at the memory.
Him and Pang have spoken about the situation a little, the time when they were both lost in completely different ways, and it really was miserable for the both of them. He hopes he never has to go through something like that again.
Learning what it was like to have a true friend for the first time in his life, someone that truly knew him and yet still accepted all of him, before it was brutally taken away from him. Seeing Pang everyday but being unable to reach out to him and talk to him… It was one of the worst feelings he’s ever felt, and he hopes he never has to live through it again.
Even if that dark time was what allowed him to realize how much he really did care about Pang. Sure, they’d grown closer once Pang regained his memories and that’s when they started building their way to the relationship they have today.
But if Wave is honest with himself, he knew even then that he felt something for Pang that he’d never truly felt before. All the nights spent plotting together and trying to find the best ways to mess with the system and the director, had only served to confirm what Wave already knew.
And when they finally gave in and fell into each other, well… Let’s just say it’ll forever remain one of the happiest moments of Wave’s life.
He’s pulled out of his thoughts when he hears a chair scrape against the floor, and steps coming closer to the door.
Lost in thought, he must have not heard their conversation come to an end, and he realizes in panic that he has nowhere to hide that won’t make it obvious to whoever comes to the door that he’s been eavesdropping on the conversation.
Before he has the time to make a move, Ohm comes into his periphery and the other boy stops in his tracks, although he remains silent, smiling knowingly towards him.
He silently pats Wave on the shoulder, and he starts to make his way past him, only for Wave to stop him by catching his wrist before the other boy disappears down the corridor.
“Ohm…,” he starts saying, the words never easy, especially when dealing with anyone other than Pang. “I’m sorry for snapping at you earlier, and for the way I spoke to you. I know you were only trying to help and you didn’t do it on purpose.”
He doesn’t go as far as to say the incident wasn’t Ohm’s fault, because the other boy had definitely messed up and Wave doesn’t make it a habit to lie. But still… He can’t help but feel guilty about the way he spoke to the other boy and blamed him for everything earlier, especially after hearing all of his conversation with Pang.
“No worries IT Wizard, it’s already behind us,” Ohm immediately says, a bright smile in place while he plucks one of the bottled water out of Wave’s hands. “Consider this apology enough.”
The other boy starts walking away, whistling happily, and Wave feels a small smile grace his lips. It really is that easy with Ohm, sometimes. The other boy so easy going he doesn’t feel the need to overthink or make a big deal out of things, so different to Wave himself.
Feeling a little lighter after his apology, Wave makes his way into the room.
Pang’s head is already turned towards the door, his boyfriend having surely heard the exchange between Wave and Ohm a moment before, and he beams warmly at him.
Wave lets his feet carry him and as soon as he is standing next to where Pang is seated, he puts the last bottle of water on the table in front of him and bends down to press his lips firmly against his boyfriend’s.
“What was that for?” Pang asks, surprised, when he pulls back from the kiss a few seconds later.
Wave can’t really tell him that the conversation he just eavesdropped on reminded him of how much he loves his boyfriend, so he shrugs and turns around, hiding his face which he can already feel heating up with embarrassment.
“I just felt like it,” he finally mumbles.
“Ok,” Pang answers, doubt evident in his voice.
“Did I mention how proud I was of your speech earlier ?” Pang asks where it’s clear that Wave won’t say anything else, which prompts Wave to turn back around towards him, only to see his boyfriend staring at him with a fond smile on his face.
“You should be, because it was basically me thinking back to all the stupid stuff you’ve told us in the past, and putting them all together in one speech. Indirectly, this was basically your speech,” Wave says ironically. Still, he can feel his cheeks heating up even more at the praise, which isn’t helped by the way Pang keeps on smiling fondly at him, evidently seeing right through his facade.
“And I guess… you did well when speaking to the director. Good job,” Wave in turn compliments him, which only causes Pang’s fond smile to grow wider.
It’s not Wave openly saying he’s proud of Pang, because he doesn’t quite know how to be this open with his affection yet. But still… He knows the negotiation exercise wasn’t the easiest for his usually straightforward boyfriend, and this is the best he can do to express the sentiment.
He thinks Pang knows him enough to be able to read what Wave was saying between the lines, and judging by the smile on his boyfriend’s face, he thinks he got the message loud and clear.
“I guess we make a good team,” Pang says with a smile, and Wave bends down once again until their faces are only inches from each other.
“I guess so,” he whispers against Pang’s lips, before he presses forward and attaches their lips once again.
They really do make the best team, he thinks.
Wave isn’t stupid. He knows that this victory doesn’t mean it’s the end of their fight, and that many more things are likely to come their way.
Yet, he also meant what he said earlier. Together, they really can face anything, and right now, he has faith that somehow, they’ll all end up okay, and will leave this school a better place when they graduate than it was when they first started here.
So for now, he’s going to concentrate on kissing his boyfriend within an inch of his life, and rejoicing in the victory.
Saving the world can wait until later.

You know, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to Tine. He, for starters, was really bad at drinking, and to add to that, Sarawat looked really, really hot. So, when Sarawat openly flirted with him with his face that close, Tine couldn’t stop his drunk self from kissing him in front of everyone.
Which wouldn’t have minded either of them if they were, you know, out as a couple.
Now, I know what you think, these two have been flirting (although it was mostly Sarawat saying the cheesiest and most cringey things Man had at least used once and making Tine blush) for so long that everyone was getting suspicious of their relationship status, but ever since they started dating, they had decided to keep it secret to adapt to it before being out to everyone and having thousands of people judge them, and Tine in special. So, basically, it was kind of like taking care of a cat before being thrown to hungry tigers, and neither Tine or Sarawat wanted to be eaten alive, thank you very much.
It seemed logical at that moment. Sarawat had been openly flirting with Tine since the start of the year and no one would suspect anything if he kept it up, Tine could blame the blushing in his cheeks, his neck and his ears on the heat or the sun hitting too hard. All probable possibilities of slipping out had been thought of and talked about, they wanted to be serious and not have their relationship invaded by others.
The only one they overlooked was both of them being drunk which cost them, well, a drunk make-out session in front of every single one of their friends, who were, by the way, very shocked (on Tine’s side) and cheering them on (on Sarawat’s side).
The couple, completely unaware of their surroundings, separated to breathe. Tine wore a small smirk on his face and Sarawat found himself a little dumbfounded because holy shit, Tine was so hot.
“That-” Sarawat tried to say. No words other than hot, really hot and the hottest thing ever came to his head. Tine really outdid himself and made him the speechless one.
Tine kissed him one last time and smiled. “Yeah.”
If Sarawat was honest with himself, if he really wanted to, he knew he could spend every second of his life kissing Tine’s lips and never get tired of them. But he needed oxygen and he definitely a drink to calm himself.
Although, when he turned his head to get his drink and drown it, he didn’t expect to see his friends and Tine’s friends looking at them with a face that very clearly had “What just happened here?” written on it.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh shit.
Sarawat turned his head towards Tine, who somehow was still unaware of the stares of both of their friends and was looking at him like he wanted to keep doing what they were doing minutes before for the whole night, and if Sarawat didn’t physically feel his friends trying to unlock his brain to get the answer with their eyes burning on the back of his head, he would’ve definitely complied and spend their whole stay on that bar kissing the life out of him.
But, as of that moment, Sarawat was panicking, and even a drunk Tine could notice something was wrong because he frowned at him. Look at your right. Sarawat said with his eyes, trying to point at their friends. Tine’s frown deepened. Sarawat slightly moved his head towards the direction where their friends were looking at them, still waiting for an explanation. Tine, still frowning, followed his head and saw his friends.
What was so shocking about their friends? Yes, they had started to hang out together more ever since a very sober Sarawat kissed him and they both confessed to each other that night but they didn’t know-
Oh.
Oh.
Oh shit.
Tine’s eyes grew comically bigger and turned his head to Sarawat, who was already looking at him with the same expression. Tine was suddenly sober and felt his ears and cheeks get even redder. Sarawat would’ve caressed his cheeks (and maybe even kissed them) if their friends weren’t watching, but they very obviously were, and seeing how the couple didn’t say a word, they had decided to start asking questions.
“So,” Man started, getting the attention of everyone on the table. “Since when have you two been together?”
Tine and Sarawat looked at each other. Who should start answering? Tine asked with his eyes, which Sarawat answered with You start, I can’t barely form a single sentence right now without needing a break. Tine looked like he got the gist of it.
Tine cleared his throat. “Two weeks ago.” His voice barely reaching Ohm, who was sitting furthest from him.
“What? Did the cat get your tongue? Or was it Sarawat?” Ohm teased and everyone in the table laughed. Tine’s blush now reached his chest and he cleared his throat again.
“Two weeks. It’s been two weeks. I asked Sarawat,” at that, both Boss and Man looked surprised at Sarawat and it was Sarawat’s turn to feel hot rising to his cheeks. “and I kissed him afterwards. Just like they say, third time’s the chance.” Tine couldn’t stop the smile that came to his face, that was one of his proudest moments and Sarawat’s reaction had been the cutest.
“Wait,” Peuk said. “Third? What about the first and the second? Why is this the first time I hear about a kiss?” Ohm and Fong agreed with him.
“They kissed at Tine’s while Sarawat was drunk, that’s definitely the first!” Boss half-yelled at them and Sarawat could feel the stares of Tine’s friends on him. Sarawat understood, he wasn’t particularly proud of their first kiss since he couldn’t remember how Tine’s lips felt the next morning.
“And the second?” Fong asked Boss and Man, who looked like they knew more than them.
Boss and Man looked at each other with a I have no idea face and facing the couple, Boss said “I have absolutely no idea.”
Everyone in the table turned to them and Sarawat took a sip of his drink. He was about to answer when Tine started to speak.
Looking at his friends, Tine said “You guys remember when I was really sad and weird for, like, three days, right?” Ohm, Fong and Peuk nodded.
“Oh, so you were all depressed because of Sarawat?” Ohm interrupted. Peuk hit his head.
Tine blushed, “You could say so. Sarawat told me he was the same, as you guys probably noticed,” he said, now looking at Man and Boss.
“Well, he was more mopey and angry than usual-” Sarawat hit Man’s head. “Shut up.”
“Before those three days started, Green came into my apartment and told me the truth about him having a boyfriend and-” I have no problem with that but Green kind of does. Tine remembered P'Dim’s words and stopped himself. He took a deep breath. “Well, the day after that, I told Sarawat that now that Green was out of the picture that we, uh, could stop the fake flirting. Which then lead to those, uh, bad days.”
Tine felt Sarawat’s hand on his thigh and slightly smiled at him. “That we all know, now tell us the interesting part.” Boss expressed and everyone voiced their agreement.
Sarawat rolled his eyes and Tine took a sip of his drink, this is going to be embarrassing to explain.
“I saw Sarawat’s post and I decided to go to his house to talk, but then I found Man,” Man nodded when they all looked at him, “and he told me the story behind the photo and told me that Wat liked me since last year’s Scrubb concert.” A tiny smile appeared on Tine’s lips as he heard his friends teasing him for using Wat. “He also told me where Wat was so I went to where he told. On the way there I found P'Mil,” Tine felt Sarawat’s grip on his thigh tighten and he put his hand over Sarawat’s. “And he touched my head for some reason, which made me really uncomfortable and I don’t know what could’ve happened if Wat hadn’t appeared.” Tine’s friends looked at him with a hint of worry in their eyes but Tine smiled at them, hoping it would reassure them that he was okay. “Anyways, Wat and I got into a bit of an argument and to, uh, shut me up, he, um, kissed me.”
“Now, that’s the Wat I know!” Man exclaimed as he patted Sarawat’s shoulder, the smile in Sarawat’s lips nothing but smug. Tine couldn’t help but blush again when his friends whistled.
“That’s the second kiss then?” Ohm asked.
Tine nodded, “Pretty much.”
“Nothing else happened?” Ohm insisted.
“We talked about our feelings after the kiss, if that’s what you’re asking,” Sarawat added.
Boss boo'ed, “You guys are no fun, you should’ve kept kissing and had sex somewhere.”
Tine choked on air. Sarawat patted his back, and if Tine wasn’t literally choking, he would’ve told him that he had to pat his chest, not his back, saraleo.
When he stopped coughing, Sarawat gave him his drink and while Tine breathed normally, he took the turn to talk. “I wished I could’ve kissing him more but it was all that was needed in that moment,” Sarawat smiled.
“Tine, my friend, you turned Wat into a whole sap.” Man commented and everyone on the table laughed.
“Wait, I have another question,” Fong said and the couple looked at him, already expecting the topic of the question.
“Is it about the third kiss?” Tine asked.
Fong nodded. “It happened two weeks ago, at my apartment.” Sarawat answered.
“No more details?” Boss asked, obviously disappointed at the lack of information.
Sarawat sighed, “I asked Tine to stay over because it was late and since Phukong wasn’t staying that night, I told him he could sleep on my bed-” Man opened his mouth to say something but Sarawat glared at him and he closed it, “but he preferred the sofa. So when I thought he was asleep, I went to lie down with him and sleep with him, but he was wide awake. He let me lie down with him and after a few minutes, he asked me the question and when I said yes, he kissed me.”
He said it with such a calm voice that the blush on his face and chest looked out of place. Tine knew why Sarawat had decided to change and omit some parts of the story, those were for them only, so when their friends looked at him, he nodded with a smile on his face.
“Interesting… Well, now that we know about that, it’s time to ask Tine something,” Man looked at Tine and Tine got nervous.
Sarawat felt Tine tense and intervened. “What is it?”
“Wat, it’s okay,” Tine mumbled.
“So we all know that Wat likes you since that Scrubb concert last year, but since when do you like him?” All their friends voiced their wonder.
Tine thought about it for a few seconds. “I can’t really pinpoint it, but I remember that the first kiss made me feel a type of way that was really similar to the feeling I got when I kissed someone I had dated before. I guess it wasn’t until I spent days without any contact with Wat that I felt somehow heartbroken and understood that my feelings weren’t a seeing a dude and thinking he was hot or handsome, even if that’s not the case here, but more of a I want to kiss and date that dude.”
“Has it ever happened before?” Peuk couldn’t stop himself from asking.
Tine shaked his head. “Never with a man and never like this. It’s weird, so many feelings and so extreme, but it feels nice.” Sarawat looked at Tine and smiled. He was happy to be Tine’s first (and hopefully last) boyfriend.
“I don’t have any more questions,” Ohm confessed and everyone agreed.
Man poured the rest of his beer onto his cup. “Well, I say we cheer for the new couple. Who’s with me?” He raised the glass.
A chorus of “Me!” and empty beer bottles accompanied it.
Sarawat filled both Tine and his’ cups and they both raised them.
“Cheers!” Boss yelled and started to clink everyone’s glasses.
“Cheers!” All their friends followed just as loud (and maybe even louder).
“Cheers to us,” Sarawat told Tine, with such softness in his smile and happiness in his eyes that, on that moment, Tine swore to himself he would always try to make him at least half as happy.
“Cheers to us,” Tine told Sarawat, with such fondness in his smile and cheerfulness in his eyes that, on that moment, Sarawat swore to himself he would protect him until the very end of the world.

The Nuisance and the Handsome Prince - A Sarawatine Medieval AU - Chapter 13
Tine is an aspiring Squire who has been training his whole life to work alongside the Kingdom’s finest Knights. Sarawat is a Prince who, on the outside, seems fierce and unapproachable. He is disinterested in any of his royal duties, namely his Knight training. What happens when Tine is assigned to be the fierce and handsome prince’s Squire?
Find the Masterpost here Read on Archiveofourown here.
The parchment from his brother fell from Tine’s hand into the fire. He could not risk anyone discovering it and he hoped that Fong had kept his curiosity in control for once for Tine did not want his friend to become a part of the issue as well.
Tine had never felt so scared in his life but he had also never felt so driven to take action. His entire body was quaking with rage but he knew it would not be wise to act at some a time where his emotions got in the way of his judgment. His fists clenched as he took up his sword in his hands. What he needed most in that moment was information and he knew exactly where to get it. He was about to flee the room when Sarawat’s note caught his attention from the corner of his eye and stopped him in his tracks.
Could he use the Prince’s affection to free his Father?
The thought was so strong but it made Tine feel even sicker about what he had to do. He couldn’t abuse Sarawat’s trust in this way, especially not before he made his final moves to gain his revenge. And yet, there would be much more revenge to take if his Father was killed. The conflict was going to tear him completely apart and all he could do is stand frozen before his doorway while his Father’s fate was at stake.
Before Tine realized where he was heading, he was sprinting through the halls of the castle. The direction was sure and as soon as he reached the door with the Wolf emblem, he realized he was truly insane. Before he could run away and make up for his mistake, the Prince opened the door.
“Tine…You came…”
Tine did not hesitate to close the distance between him and Sarawat. He threw his arms around the Prince and the tears came flooding from his eyes silently. He was hurting and he needed comfort more than anything else and aside from Ohm, Sarawat was the closest to family as Tine had within the castle walls, despite how complicated their relationship was.
Sarawat closed the door quickly with a free hand and cradled Tine closely, steadying Tine as his tears turned into broken sobs. Tine’s knees buckled and Sarawat slowly guided them toward the cold floor of the East Tower.
“It’s okay, Tine. Whatever is happening, it’s okay.” Sarawat murmured as he gently caressed Tine’s cheek with one hand. “You are safe here, okay? You are safe.”
This only made Tine cry even harder. He buried his face in Sarawat’s shirt, his tears staining the material. The barrage of emotions that was coursing through him was too much and he cursed himself for running to Sarawat instead of immediately searching for his father, although, in reality, neither decision was particularly wise.
As time passed and Sarawat held him close, Tine began slowly to collect himself. His breathing eventually evened out and he realized that he smelt a faint scene of iron lingering in the air. He pulled away from Sarawat and realized he still held his sword in his hand which had been pressed to Sarawat’s back and cutting into the Prince the whole time that Tine had been near him.
“I hurt you…” Tine’s voice quivered.
His sword fell from his grasp as his vision began to blur with tears again. Was there nothing he could do right?
“Tine.” Sarawat took Tine’s face in his hands and directed Tine’s gaze to meet his. “There is nothing under the sun or moon that you could to do to hurt me unless you were ever to leave my side.”
And before Tine could even form a response, he found himself leaning forward and crashing his lips into Sarawat’s. This time he would not run away. This time he needed the strength that being with Sarawat gave him to navigate whatever the hell he was going to do next. He needed to know somebody was on his side, even if that someone was technically on the wrong side of the battle.
Of course, Sarawat did not hesitate to kiss Tine back. The urgency and relief in how the Prince returned the kiss made Tine’s head spin. Sarawat seemed like he had been starved for days and his hunger for Tine was ravenous. The intensity of the kiss was exhausting for both of them and while Tine wished he could remain in the confines of this unreality, he could not abandon his true task any longer.
“I have to go.” Tine apologized, pulling away from Sarawat and standing to his feet, taking his sword in his hands. “I’m sorry. It’s… I can’t tell you what I’m up against and I want you to know that I am so thankful for our time together. I will always look back on it fondly.”
“Don’t leave me again…” Sarawat responded and his voice was so small and broken that it made Tine hesitate.
Tine leaned down and ran one hand gently through Sarawat’s hair. “I am not leaving yet, Wat. I will be by your side until the Trials but, after that, we must part ways. We both have our paths to focus on. The Kingdom needs you to stay on your path to the throne and if you follow me, all I can say is that our routes will likely not diverge again.”
The reality of their fate settled in the silence between the two young men. Tine pressed a quick farewell kiss on Sarawat’s lips before disappearing down the stairs, leaving the Prince along with his thoughts and only the memory of what only seemed to happen under that magic of the moonlight.
++++++++
The halls of the castle were dead silent at night which is why Phukong loved to wander through them at hours that his parents would not be impressed by. He did not exactly have insomnia but his sleeping habits were definitely suspect. But, that evening, Phukong was shocked to find that he was not the only one exploring the castle.
“Tine?”
His brother’s Squire froze immediately when Phukong spotted him. Tine turned and pointed his sword in Phukong’s direction and the Prince’s breath hitched at the fierceness in the Squire’s eyes.
Phukong’s hands shot up into the air in surrender, “It’s just me! No reason to attack. The only weapon I have on me is a paintbrush and that’s not exactly lethal.”
Tine slowly lowered his sword but there was still a haunted look in his eyes that concerned Phukong. The Prince dropped his hands to his side and questioned, “What are you doing out here so late?”
“I… I was just returning to my quarters…” Tine expressed, his eyes darting around nervously.
Phukong raised a suspicious eyebrow, “Returning from..?”
Even in the low candlelight, Phukong could see a blush erupt across Tine’s face. Phukong jumped at the bait, “You were in the East Tower, weren’t you, Tine?”
Tine’s jaw dropped open and Phukong had to stifle a laugh before a third person emerged from the shadows to join them. It took a moment for Phukong’s eyes to adjust to the light to recognize that Mil was approaching them.
“What are you doing out of your quarters at such a late hour, Squire?” Lord Mil practically spat in Tine’s direction.
Phukong had never seen Mil treat anyone like this before and he frankly loathed this side of Mil on sight. Phukong boldly stepped in front of Mil, blocking his path to Tine. “You could pose the same question of me, my Lord, why only direct it at Tine?”
Mil glared at Phukong. “I suggest that you step out of my path, your Highness. I am acting on orders from your Father.”
“My Father’s orders were to protect me, not to randomly throw around accusations at whomever you choose.” Phukong countered, narrowing his eyes at Mil.
Tine stepped to the side and shared, “Thank you, my Prince, but I do not need you to defend my honour. I am not doing anything to provoke you, Lord Mil, so I would request that you let me take my leave to my quarters as we have practice early tomorrow morning.”
Mil looked as if he was fighting to keep his composure so Phukong put one hand on the Lord’s arm. “Enough, Mil. Let Tine go.”
Mil’s eyes softened only momentarily before he looked back at Tine. “You know, there is a treasonous prisoner within our walls so I think it is in the bounds of my rights as a future Knight to keep the members of the court safe, especially the Royal Family.”
“But what does that have to do with Tine?” Phukong asked, his head reeling with confusion.
Tine’s heart leapt into his throat and he had to keep his face neutral. Did Mil know who he was? That it was his Father who had been accused of Treason? Did Mil know where his Father was being kept? Could he beat the information out of the Lord right then and there?
“He is a Commoner, after all, and so is the prisoner.” Mil hissed and Phukong suddenly felt like he was looking at a stranger instead of the man he cared so much for. Mil continued, “Who knows if they have crossed paths at some point and might share the same values.”
“Lord Mil, I order you to return to your station.” Phukong roared and both Mil and Tine were startled by the voice of authority that erupted from the younger Prince. “Now.”
Mil had a dumfounded look on his face but without even a second of protest, turned on his heel and left Phukong and Tine alone again. Phukong immediately turned to Tine and gave him an apologetic look. “Please don’t take anything that Mil says personally. He sometimes gets so hypnotized by his Father’s words that he can’t even think for himself. Plus, he is beyond protective of Sarawat and considering that situation…”
“Phukong.” Tine murmured. “You must not share what is between Wat and I with anyone. It could prevent your brother from becoming King.”
“I always act in the best interest of those I love.” Phukong stated plainly. “And, I hope you know that I don’t look down on the people of our Kingdom as some others do and I know my brother is the same. I can’t help but think that this accusation of Treason is unfounded in nature…”
Tine could not believe his ears. “What do you know about the prisoner, Phukong?”
“I have reason to believe that the Head Knight has taken my Father’s orders to an extreme degree.” Phukong explained. “Trials of treason are not taken lightly in the court but my Father will lead a fair investigation into the matter before taking any action and that could take weeks, if not months.”
The relief that flooded Tine was immediate. He had time. He could work with time.
“I want to thank you for your kindness, my Prince.” Tine expressed. “I know you have your own affections for Mil so that must have been difficult to do.”
“As I said before, it is my duty as a member of the Royal Family to stand in the way of injustice and represent my People.” Phukong shared and he looked terribly vulnerable in that moment. “No matter what my feelings are about the person who utters the prejudices.”
Tine wished it was appropriate for him to hug the younger Prince but the decorum of the situation kept him from doing so. Instead he bowed deeply to the Prince and bid him a farewell by saying, “Our Kingdom has a bright future ahead if we have two brothers like you in charge of things. Good night, your Highness.”
“Good night, Tine.” Phukong nodded respectfully to his brother’s Squire.
Tine walked back to his quarters, his head heavy with everything he had been forced to endure in the span of only one evening. He hoped that wherever his Father was that he was at least sleeping soundly.
++++++++++++
Man’s heart was heavy after receiving such a difficult message from Type and passing it through the necessary networks so that it got to Tine. He knew of the content of the message and it distressed him beyond belief to know that the man he adored so much was in distress because his Father was being held within the castle’s walls under seemingly false accusations of Treason.
It was a foggy morning. Man could see Tine preparing Sarawat’s armour and while he knew it was foolish to wander over to the Squire to see how he was faring with the news, he did it anyway. Man tended to follow his heart much more often than his head.
As he approached, Man could see the apparent dark circles under Tine’s eyes, indicating that the Squire had likely not had much sleep the previous evening. He wished there was more that he could do for Type and his family but Man’s ranking was not high enough to be privy to such classified information as where they kept prisoners.
“Good morning, Tine.”
Tine stilled at the interruption and turned to face Man, his brows knitted firmly together. He bowed his head when he saw Man, “Good morning, Sir.”
“Please, Tine, let’s remove the decorum.” Man shared gently, putting a hand on Tine’s shoulder in a gesture that he hoped came across as supportive rather than demeaning. “I know of the difficulty that your family is facing…”
Tine became white as a sheet at Man’s words and Man immediately regretted confronting Tine in such a public manner. He realized he probably should have watched until a later time where they would have less of an audience that might witness their encounter.
“I apologize for my candour.” Man sputtered, wishing he could take all of his words back. “I just want to know that you are not alone and that I will do what I can to aid you in your…. endeavour.”
“Sir Man, is there a reason that you are harassing my Squire?”
Both Man and Tine froze when they heard Sarawat’s voice intervene. They turned to face him and Tine’s gaze immediately dropped to the floor, completely unable to navigate the situation. He was somewhat relieved to know that Man was another ally but the fact that he had approached him in such an indiscreet manner made Tine think that Man was not exactly a reliable source of support in these kind of delicate situations, despite Man’s best intentions.
“I am not harassing him.” Man barked defensively, crossing his arms in defiance. “I think that’s more in your job description.”
The words stung both Tine and Sarawat in a way that neither of them wanted to confront in that moment. Sarawat looked to Tine but his Squire was still deeply examining the contents of the training field rather than looking in his direction. After their difficult interaction just hours before, Sarawat understood why Tine felt resistant to make eye contact but he also wished desperately that Tine would look his way.
“Man, I think you should go find your own Squire.” Sarawat practically ordered, his eyes narrowing at his friend.
Man let out an exasperated puff of air and turned toward Tine, “I will do all that I can to help.”
Tine nodded briskly as Sarawat’s eyes grew wide in confusion. Man turned swiftly on his heel and made his way back to his own Squire, leaving Tine and Sarawat in a tensions-filled silence that neither of them knew how to break.
Thankfully, Tine could busy himself with helping Sarawat into his armour but the Prince’s gaze bore into him with an intensity that was practically scalding. Tine wished he could scale the castle walls and escape the madness that had become his life.
“Do you know why I wear the wolf so proudly?” Sarawat whispered, the words barely audible but Tine was close enough to hear them.
Tine did not respond. How could he possibly form the words that were on the edge of his tongue?
“To be a Wolf means that your family is the most important thing in your life.” Sarawat explained slowly and the words washed over Tine like a blanket of truth. “Your sole purpose is to honour them, to protect them and every action that you take reflects on your family and how you represent them.”
Tine felt his mouth grow dry. “Why are you telling me this?”
“Because in our brief time together, you have become part of my family.” The Prince expressed, putting a gentle hand on Tine’s arm.
Remember who you are.
The reminder of his Father’s words echoed in Tine’s mind. He pulled his arm away from Sarawat’s grip and hissed, “You don’t understand who I am, Sarawat. We are not family. I am not sure you even know the true definition of the word. You might be a wolf but no matter what, since I am not your equal, I am your prey. I am yours to consume and do what you like with, just like the rest of the subjects of the Kingdom. We could never be family.”
The look on Sarawat’s face was indecipherable. Tine knew he had overstepped but he had to draw the clear line between them or it would inevitably get in the way of his father’s survival. He could not play such petty and self-indulgent games anymore, he had to face reality.
There was no place where he and Sarawat could stand side by side. They would always be at a distant no matter how much either of them wanted to fight for a different arrangement. A world where Tine stood next to Sarawat could never exist, especially in the manner that Sarawat intended.
Tine heard Dim start the training and forced an almost unresponsive Sarawat to turn to face him. As much as every fibre of him wanted to wrap his arms around Sarawat right then and there, Tine had to fight every impulse to do so.
A pack of Wolves would never accept a rabbit as anything other than something to feed on…

Mafia Au, childhood friends, “Hold your fire!” for Ohmtoonz? Love ya Crim! 💙
Aww fluffy!! I hope you enjoy this!
AU: Mafia Trope: Childhood friendsPrompt: “Hold your fire!”
Pairing: Ohmtoonz
Ryan was always the sweet one of their friend group. A little quieter, and a heart made of gold, he’d been the one that Luke felt like he needed to protect. They were friends from the start of second grade, and even though Delirious was his best friend, Ryan came pretty close (or maybe it was a different feeling, one that Del could never cause in his heart). Luke was the first one to stand up to any bully that tried to talk down to Ryan. He made sure to keep band-aids and medicine in his truck once they hit high school and then college, since his friend tended to get bruised up or bloody from gym or after school activities without Luke hearing about it until the next morning.
Ryan would never tell him who it was that tripped him or what exactly caused the slice on his arm. But he always looked so grateful for Luke’s gentle first aid afterwards, that the southerner never had the spine to press the matter. Plus, Ryan always assured that he told someone, and that the situations were properly handled. Luke wanted to come with him to the police a time or two (the broken arm their first year of college really pissed him off), but Ryan never wanted Luke to get involved. It bothered him to see his cru-his friend in such rough shape. Ryan didn’t deserve to be treated so poorly, and when Luke discovered who it was that hurt him, they were going to have a not-so-friendly conversation. Ryan told him not to worry, that so long as Luke patched him up, he’d be just fine.
Which Luke believed until he walked into Ryan’s apartment and a gun was pointed at his head.
“What the-” His spine tensed in panic as he stared down at the barrel, eyes crossed and lungs frozen. His head felt fuzzy from wanting to pass out, yet he refused to move, too focused on taking in the scene in front of him. A grumpy man who looked closed to Luke’s age stared at him from behind the gun, the blue eyes narrowed with murderous intent.
“You got a reason to be barging into Ohm’s apartment?” The growl of his voice proved that this wasn’t a joke, and Luke’s throat dried up. He wanted to ask who ‘Ohm’ was, and what he had to do with Ryan, yet he knew he didn’t have any control in the current situation.
“Hold your fire, Wildcat!” The familiar voice of his childhood friend was enough to loosen his shoulders, though air didn’t come back to his lungs until ‘Wildcat’ grunted and dropped the gun to his side. Ryan popped into Luke’s line of sight, his hands quickly cupping his bearded face and rubbing worried thumbs over his paled cheeks. “Oh my god, Luke, I’m so sorry. I texted you earlier saying I couldn’t hang out tonight.”
“Phones broken,” Luke finally forced out, his face leaning into the calming caresses. Ryan’s touch was always soft, even with rougher hands than Luke’d expect from an accounting major. But from someone who held a gun…Luke’s eyes flickered back over to the man towering behind Ryan, finally picking up on the other people in the room. Their ages seemed pretty close, maybe a few years between, but none seemed as high strung as Wildcat.
“Do you need some water? Do you want to sit down?” Ryan fretted like there weren’t three other people in the room watching them, and though normally Luke would preen under the undivided attention, now he squirmed in his shoes.
“What the hell did I just walk into? And why do they call you Ohm?” He didn’t like making Ryan wince, but he couldn’t ignore what had just happened. Someone had put a literal gun to his face.
“That’s…Luke, if I tell you the truth, it’s important to know that I’d never do anything to put you in harm’s way.” Ryan’s eyes flickered over to Wildcat, who rolled his eyes and turned away. “Well, intentionally.”
“What, did you make a deal with the mob or something? Do you need me to help you find some cash to pay something off? Because me and Del ain’t got much, but-”
“He doesn’t know who you are?” The exclamation came from one of the men sitting on the couch, his glasses almost falling off his face when he pushed to his feet. “Ohm you told me you were gonna tell him two years ago with the broken arm-”
“Mini,” another man from the couch started, seeming to be the oldest of the group.
“No, Moo, this is bad. Our boss’s partner doesn’t know about us, which means he’s a sitting duck for other gangs to kidnap him. He’ll be bait! Then what’ll Ohm do? Probably kill half of Manhattan to get him back-”
“I’m sorry, did you say the boss of a gang?” Then the second part of the ramble caught up to Luke, who turned his stunned eyes back to Ryan. He could see the nerves running over Ryan’s face, teeth nibbling on his lower lip and thumbs smoothing Luke’s beard. “Did he say I’m your partner?”
“Yet he’s not worried about the murdering part? Maybe we should keep him as our gang’s mascot.” The final member spoke, and Ryan’s eyes cut a cold edge Luke had never seen before when glaring at the couch.
“Smiity, enough.” Ryan’s demeanor relaxed after a prolonged stare, closing his eyes with a sigh. “You three go back to base and check in with the others. Wildcat’s in charge until I get there. Tell Vanoss to wait on the meeting with the Crows and see if Kryoz got any more dirt on the last boss’s widow. She’s gonna flip on them, and I want to make sure we get to her before anyone tries to shut her up permanently. I’ll be there in an hour.”
“Got it.” The three made it seem natural to take commands from Ryan, which was another whirlwind for Luke. He’d seen this man get bossed around by kittens, and now he was being told that he ran a gang? The apartment fell silent for a few moments, both men taking time to collect their thoughts. Finally, Luke pulled himself together enough to step back from Ryan, trying not to look into how much he missed the other’s fingers on his skin.
“Ryan, what the hell is going on?”
“Um.” Gone was the force of a man that’d commanded four others without a hint of fear, leaving the kind and soft spoken Ryan that Luke knew. His eyes flickered around the room before settling back to Luke with a hesitant smile. “Remember how I told you that I was going to go into my family’s business?”
“Your family is the mafia?” Luke’s hands laid limp by his side when Ryan nodded. “So, all those times you got hurt-”
“Training,” Ryan replied quickly, but the wince that followed proved that they weren’t pleasant memories. “And sometimes scouting missions that went a little sideways. But I’ve been given the reigns of my own branch now. They’re really nice guys once you get to know them, and we tend to try to avoid violence if possible. Really, Luke, we’re not like the movies at all.”
“That Mini guy just said I was going to be used as bait,” Luke replied flatly.
“Mini is dramatic,” was the quick answer, which Luke could see.
“Why would I be used for bait, Ohm?” He tried out the codename, and his eyebrow rose when he caught the flush on Ryan’s face.
“That’s cause…well, I was planning on taking you out. Like, on a date. And telling you all of this.” A pause came after, but before Luke could fully process that, Ryan blurted out more. “Because I’ve been in love with you since third grade but I didn’t want to be because of my family!”
“Oh.” Luke tried not to let his heart jump through his chest at the confession, but his head was far too fuzzy to stay logical. This was more intense than the gun to his head. Ryan, the boy he’d been protecting for years because of how in love he was with him, had also been doing the exact same thing. Except his had the mafia. Luke kept forgetting that piece over the feelings aspect. He wasn’t sure what that said about him.
“I’m so sorry.” The look of guilt on Ryan’s face was obvious, and his fingers curled into the bottom of his threadbare sweatshirt. “If you don’t want to talk to me again, I get it, I just wanna make sure you’re safe-”
“Hey, who said anything like that?” He didn’t hesitate to move back to Ryan, grabbing his waist and pulling him close until Ryan dropped his forehead onto Luke’s shoulder. “You think a couple guns and some wanna be tough guys are going to keep me from you? I’ve been trying to protect you my whole life; now I get to actually help out.”
“What do you mean?” Ryan’s voice was soft against his collarbone, Luke running his fingers through the back of Ryan’s hair.
“It means, boss-”
“Lu-luke, that’s-” The little noise and squirm of Ryan’s hips proved that was a keeper. He pulled him back enough to catch Ryan’s faint blush, daring himself to run his thumb over the man’s lower lip and grin.
“Where do I sign up?”

Nic Salt E.
Preferences like crap, makes me really feel ill actually and also I simply can't even do it. Like needing to breath while under water, So I never when swiming. If smoking could eliminate as effectivly as heroin, the majority of us would believe never attempted it, and the Gooberment would certainly have disallowed it at some point. It can also be because of the caramelized crud in your coils building up and also creating your fluid to have a darker shade. With all of that being stated, there should not be anything incorrect vaping it besides the slight change of taste. Based on the specs you have actually told me, you ought to be great. I would play around with the settings and also see to it you discover a happy medium so you don't get nic sick.
The vaping market, along with ingenious firms like PAX Labs, have actually spent years in the r & d phase; refining pure nicotine salts to make vaping a lot more pleasurable to vapers. As a result, nicotine salts have actually come to be an awesome alternative for those seeking a smooth vaping experience with a greater nicotine delivery.
What Is A Nic Salt?
Therefore, it can be consumed in greater concentrations. Despite being specialized devices, nic salt husk gadgets can really be cheaper, not much more pricey, than routine vaping mods. This is due, partially at the very least, to their reduced power consumption, permitting a much less effective battery and also burner. The lower cost of nic salt capsules over typical vaping devices can also be a result of their normally smaller sized dimension. The ordinary cost of a nic salt shell can vary from $12 to $50. Beginning with a tiny device as well as using pure nicotine salts is an excellent strategy, and you can constantly switch to high-VG/lower-nicotine sub-ohm configurations as you wean yourself off as well as begin to branch off. In fact-- salt or no salt-- it's much better to grasp the basics with a simple vaporizer prior to navigating through the various types of coils, storage tanks, as well as settings.
Since you recognize the essentials, it's time to example the lots of wonderful flavors of vape fluid out there. That depends on how much pure nicotine is in your e-liquid, what type of cigarettes you utilized to smoke, and how greatly you smoked. For quick referral, mouth to lung vaping has a smaller volume of smoke, whereas direct to lung develops a much bigger volume on your preliminary hit. The biggest distinction in these 2 methods is the way in which the smoke is inhaled. With a mouth to lung vape, your best option is to get rid of the smoke like you would certainly a cigarette, where you would inhale into your mouth and continue by taking a second inhale to the lungs.
JUICEMAN ® products have actually not been assessed by the Food and Drug Administration, nor are they intended to deal with, prevent or heal any kind of condition or condition.
Vaping impacts everyone in a different way, as well as it takes a bit of exploring to find what jobs best for you.
Non pure nicotine vape tastes are offered on all of our 100mL vape juice flavors.
Even at 35 mg nic salts, some might discover it extreme however after couple of usage, you will quickly get used to the throat hit.
I strongly suggest utilizing a low electrical power open pod system such as a Suorin Air, Kado, or a Smok Infinix. The reduced wattage shuck systems are definitely great to use as an additional device when you're out as well as about. I read this write-up pre salt purchase and also intended to return to update because I have a sub ohm device and also salts have been an outstanding change for me. So for the adventurous around it's most definitely worth a shot.
youtube
How Expensive Are Nic Salts?
Attempt the Mango or Pomelo initially for a tantalizingly succulent taste. Let you consume high nicotine levels in a smooth, tasty vape. Below's a standard guideline to allow you recognize how much pure nicotine you need to start with. Most e-liquids are available in levels from 0mg to 18mg nicotine.
Salts additionally can be found in a couple of different nicotine degrees which tend to be 50 mg and also anywhere from mg. I enjoyed reading your short article, I located it rather useful and also very easy to follow as a layman with a rate of interest in chemistry. I simply wished to direct something out, perhaps you have actually currently been warned, and if so, please negligence this remark. Again, depending upon preference as well as constitution, some people might be fine with sub-ohming 50 nic, however in general I would certainly CONSTANTLY suggest versus it. I simply wanted to place that out there, as most companies that I've seen who make or co-pack high-nic salts put some sort of "Except Sub-Ohm Use" label on their bottles. I only recognize one other person that vapes so Pub-Med, NIH and online articles and online forums are my primary resource for details. This one individual just so takes place to vape a real nic salt 70/30 blend in a Smok Morph between watts.
Nonetheless, lots of vapers still steep their salt nic e-liquids in order to make the flavor a lot more powerful and also richer. Most of the evolution in vaping technology has been available in the form of brand-new mods as well as tanks, but the globe of e-liquid isn't fixed either. The release of the Juul accompanied the development of pure nicotine salt e-liquid, as well as with it came promises of a much more satisfying vaping experience.

Testing Theories
Drakken hurried off the stage in a mixture of embarrassment and panic. He'd barely gotten through his speech without sputtering, had nearly knocked over two guards in his haste to exit the room full of cheering people. All his excitement over this medal and the recognition he'd gained took a back burner to the heat rising in his face and the image of Shego's wide eyes looking at him. He knew Shego was behind him... somewhere. He needed to get away quicker and try and avoid what had happened on stage.
“Cuz!” came Ed's voice as he snuck through the door to the audience.
Drakken looked at him, a small hope that perhaps his cousin could annoy he and Shego enough they would avoid even thinking about the stage. Unfortunately the giddy glint in his cousin's eyes and his broad grin knew there was nothing more then juvenile amusement headed his way. The smug nod he gave Drakken only meant it was the very instance he cared to avoid.
“Did you get a nice view, seriously?” laughed Ed. Drakken glared, “I had to get the camera dude to replay it... You seriously motor boated Green on stage.”
“That was not what happened!” snapped Drakken. He felt his face growing warmer, “That was a complete accident!”
“Seriously? Are you going to tell me those... what the hell are they,” Ed paused to try and look down Drakken's jacket.
“Get off, Eddie,” hissed Drakken as he swatted his hand away, “It's an annoying mutation... you know... I don't have to listen to this.”
“Ooo, big hero doesn't need to talk to the peon,” snorted Ed with an eye roll, “Seriously Cuz... Relax! So you motor boated Shego in front of millions... I'd seriously do the same... death warranted.”
“I did not... Shego,” Drakken's anger fell as Shego stood a few feet away, “Shego... I--”
Drakken could see the embarrassment in her own face turn to fury as she looked at a laughing Ed. Shego growled and before Ed could make further comment. A green blast sent him down the opposite stairwell. Drakken cringed and waited for the glowing hand to turn but it faded. He watched as Shego's arms wrapped tightly around her upper torso and he quickly looked away. It was silent save for the few groans from Ed floors below. They both spoke at the same time.
“I'm sorry about--”
“What was that--”
Drakken bit his tongue and waited for Shego to continue. Her arms wrapped tighter and she cleared her throat and narrowed her eyes at him.
“What was that all about? The flower vine thing... are you trying to start more rumors,” she scoffed. Drakken sighed.
“I didn't do it intentionally, Shego... I just--” Drakken let her cut him off.
“So you have no control over your own flowers?” her eyes went wide and she took a step back.
“No! I do,” hastened Drakken. He shook his head, “I mean they act on my subconscious...”
“So your subconscious thought it appropriate to drag me across stage and...” she gestured towards the wall separating them from the media, “And make a very awkward situation embarrassing.”
Drakken felt his shoulder's drop at the idea she being on stage with him was awkward. He let that thought fade and he shook his head to force focus on the current topic.
“I... I was feeling overwhelmed,” he sighed, “And then I looked at you and I felt better... the flowers simply... acted on that.”
Shego shifted slightly and looked at him with a soft yet unreadable expression. Drakken sputtered slightly as he continued.
“Trust me, I didn't mean to... ohm.... touch you in that way...” he gestured his face and her general direction, “That was... again, sorry.”
There was a silent moment and Shego sighed and let her arms fall and she casually walked towards him with an eye roll.
“Yeah, well... tell you're flowers to not be so handsy. The press is going to have a field day,” she scoffed, “Our so-called friends are going to be unbearable.”
“I can tell the press--” Drakken began and Shego let out a loud laugh.
“Oh, that will just work so well,” she snorted, “You have a lot to learn Mr. Big Shot... that's not how the press work... Let's just hope no one noticed.”
“Eddie pointed it out to a cameraman,” whispered Drakken. Shego's eyes shot open as she heard walking up the stairs.
He watched her shoot another blast and heard his cousin yell again and then another thud of the metal steps. Drakken cringed again but gave a forced smile as Shego looked at him.
“If it... If it makes you feel better,” said Drakken, “I gained no pleasure from that.”
He expected relief but Shego's face fell back to unreadable and she tilted her head for second. Drakken saw her brows slightly narrow.
“You had zero enjoyment touching me?” asked Shego. Drakken felt the trap, he could taste it even.
He swallowed hard.
“I meant... that wasn't... none of that on stage... that was not planned... and there was... it was embarrassing,” finished Drakken, “I did not enjoy any of that.”
“So... had we not been on stage in front of millions... you would have enjoyed that?” asked Shego. Drakken saw the glint in her eye as she found a new button to push.
“I... ohm... this,” Drakken felt flustered for a second before annoyed, “There is no correct way to answer that and you know it.”
“Yes there is,” said Shego confidently, “You either did or didn't like being that physically close to... ohm... me.”
Drakken shifted as he leaned against a pillar.
“I... well it wasn't not pleasant... I mean I am human--” muttered Drakken.
“Hybrid,” muttered Shego. Drakken glared, “I'm not letting that plant thing go... ever.”
“As I was saying... it was just... I would have probably found it more pleasant in a different circumstance,” finished Drakken. He let out a deep sigh and watched as Shego looked away from him.
“With me?” asked Shego. Her voice was quite.
“What?” asked Drakken. His face felt warm again.
“With me? Would have been better if it wasn't me?” she asked confidently, “Or just a different setting with me.”
Drakken felt backed into a corner again. His mind was a swirl of emotions at her words... this was supposed to be his big day and moment after moment it was a disaster. From the cameras and press attacking him, the ungraceful exit from his hover car, to the awkward speech, the stage incident, his plants being insufferable, Ed as a general being, and now this. He told himself to ignore it, to stop talking before he ended up on the bottom of the stairwell. He looked at his medal for a second and chose to focus on it with a shrug as he continued.
“I think it was the setting mostly,” responded Drakken. He cleared his throat, “Can we let this go... I apologized and...”
Drakken froze as Shego got close to him. There was that playful glint in her eye again and he waited for the joke or sarcastic snap.
“You think?” she asked with a smirk.
“Well... I don't know do I... because that's what happened... where it happened,” grumbled Drakken,. Shego grabbed his wrist and pulled him off the pillar, “What are you doing?”
“I think we need to talk about this more privately,” she nodded towards the stairwell as she pulled him with her down a hallway.
“Can we not,” whined Drakken, “Shego... I already told you it was an accident, it was awkward, I took no pleasure in it and... is this a closet?”
Drakken looked around the room Shego had pulled them into. Shego closed the door behind them as only the dim single light illuminated the small space. Drakken was both confused and scared. Shego's expression was still mischievous and now they were in a secluded room.
“Shego--”
His words were cut off as Shego's lips touched his. It was simple and soft... something that he rarely associated with her. His mind screamed trap and felt it was simply fuel for whatever sarcastic statement she had... Flower didn't listen to this. He felt them wrap around both of them tightly and yank them closer. Drakken broke the kiss only because he's lost balance. Shego fellt against the corner and he did his best not to land on her. Unfortunately, like this whole night, it was not in his favor. He found his face in a very familiar position to on the stage. Only this one took longer to try and remove himself from.
“Sorry... I'm sorry,” he repeated as he braced his arms on the wall and tried to regain footing to get off her. The vines did not help.
Shego let out a slightly chuckle and Drakken looked at her expression. There was no anger or malice in it, the glint still in her eyes. A slight tint to her face showed she was at least slightly embarrassed unlike his own. She was making zero efforts to move but only blushed harder and looked away.
“Looks like Flower's helping me test that theory,” she snorted. Drakken's brow rose and he felt the vines finally vanish, “You were wrong.”
“What?” asked Drakken as he finally stood and Shego followed him, “About what?”
“It wasn't the situation,” she sighed. The glint was fading, “It was just me.”
Drakken blinked in confusion as Shego's smile held a sad hint to it as she reached for the door. Drakken still processing there location, isolated away from everyone... purposely just he and Shego... where she'd kissed him. His wave of confusion wasn't done processing as his hand grabbed hers. She looked at his hand and then to him. There was annoyance in her blush tinted face now. He hadn't said anything but pulled her back towards him. She didn't fight the motion which she could have easily done as his grip was barely there.
“Drakken--” Shego began but it was Drakken's turn to cut her off.
He mustered up every ounce of his courage and self-preservation as he kissed her. It wasn't sweet and chaste as hers was. There was more force and hunger behind it. Encase she blasted him into oblivion he would have had a good reason for it. His arms snaked around her waist to pull her tighter against him. Her motions did not follow his and with a sinking pit in his stomach he pulled back.
“You... you just kissed me?” she asked as his arms began to slack from her, “You kissed me?”
“I'm sorry,” he breathed for what felt like a hundred time that night.
He wanted to argue that she'd been the one to drag them there and fuel whatever mischief button she was planning on pushing later. Wanted to just let the embarrassment flood him and go back to his lair and forget his so called night. He realized he didn't feel embarrassed by his action, only disappointed in its result. He could easily turn sarcasm on her like she'd clearly planned... but his heart wasn't in it. He gave a half smile and took a step back from her.
“I was... just testing a theory of my own,” he shrugged. Shego's hand slid over his cheek and he paused.
“Since we're both testing theories,” she rolled her eyes and sighed, “We uh... should collaborate, wouldn't you say Doc?”
Drakken felt the grin slide across his face slowly before he own devious one smashed into his. Her arms slid around his neck and this time it wasn't the vines that made them fall into the corner.
–
The UN was slowly dwindling down and the press had started to fade away assuming the guests of honors had already snuck away. The villains all waited in the back part of the stage, waiting for a clear exit without police interference. Ed leaned against the pillar now and rubbed his aching back.
“How did they get out unnoticed,” scoffed Dementor, “You would have thought they could have let us know.”
“I'm sure it was devious and brilliant,” grinned Lucre, “Dr. Drakken always is.”
Duff leaned against a door and paused to listen. He snickered.
“Aye, they ain't left,” he whispered and nodded towards the closet.
“They fighting?” asked Junior in shock, “It was the stage situation, was it not.”
Duff smirked.
“They ain't fighting the way you think, lad,” snickered Duff.
“Oh, ew!” said Camille, “How tacky... closets are so High School.”
“I knew there was more between them,” giggled DNAmy as she patted the Monkey Fist statue, “We right, Monte.”
“Anyone know a therapist villain?” whispered Dementor.
“Alright, the cost is clear,” came Senior near the exit he'd been watching.
“Awesome,” smirked Ed, “Seriously, get ready to run.”
“Why... the coast is clear,” said Adrena.
Motor Ed pounded on the closet door loudly.
“Seriously, alright cuz!” laughed Ed as he booked it from the door.
“Eddie!” came the loud angry yell of Drakken.
“Run, what are you lot waiting for,” said Duff as they all followed after Ed.
The villains made a mad dash to the exit as the sound of hurried movement in the closet gave burst to childish snickers and laughter among them. All dodging a series of green blasts being shot from the cracked open door, only to fuel and confirm the chatter of evil fleeing the scene.

Sirenade: Chapter Three
Hello and Welcome to another Chapter of Sirenade. There’s not much to say except to enjoy this week’s chapter & Stay Tuned for next week’s chapter. There is so much more to come and I have many plans for the future. Also Happy Father’s Day!!!
Start: Prologue
Previously: Chapter 2
Next: Chapter 4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chapter 3
“For the last time I am not eating that.”
“But-“
“No, and that’s final.”
“I swear if you two keep arguing I’ll shove it down your throats.” This conversation was giving him a headache, and it wasn’t helping that he didn’t enjoy his surroundings. The unpleasant conversation started when John brought up topics regarding food eventually leading to him buying something he wanted Smitty to eat.
“I’m offended you’re not on my side Marcel.” Smitty pouted whilst placing his hand on his heart. Marcel only rolled his eyes at Smitty as he continued his chat with John.
“When do you think Scotty’s coming back?”
“I’m sure he’ll be back before the Iris Festival, I mean he loves the festival so it should be soon.” Marcel looked towards the ocean as he listened to John and Smitty’s conversation.
Scotty. A close friend of Marcel. The one person he couldn’t keep his calm and tough composure on for long. The one person he let his guard down around. Why he didn’t know, maybe it was because he felt different around the man. Maybe he saw something different in him, whatever the reason was he felt relieved that Scotty was coming home.
“How much longer do you think Craig and Brock are gonna take?” Smitty snapped him out of his thoughts. Marcel turned his head as Smitty and John had their eyes fixed on him.
“I don’t fucking know. Maybe Brock got stuck flirting with Brian.” His obvious hand gestures and choices of words assured the younger males that he was probably joking and they’d be waiting longer than expected.
“I don’t know why you wait here. Don’t you have better things to do?” Marcel questioned at John as he wondered why the younger man chose to wait every day with him and Smitty until they went their separate ways home.
“Eh, I’ve got nothing better to do,” John spoke as he pulled out a black tube from his hoodie. Marcel saw out of the corner of his eye as Smitty stared at the peculiar device, fascinated by it no matter how many times he encounters the little thing, as it made its way towards John’s mouth. He inhaled from the tip of the pen, exhaling allowing a stream of white smoke to escape his mouth.
Sometimes I’ll never understand humans.
Marcel leaned against the tree that provided shade for the bench under it. Leaving him no choice but to inhale the candy-coated fumes from John’s pen.
At least it’s not as bad as the other ones.
Eventually, Brock and Craig showed up, Smitty jumped up from his seat ecstatic about going home. They both waved goodbye to John as they walked down toward the beach. John waved back before taking a hit of his vape and walked back towards the town leaving a small trail of mist running away from him.
~*~
“What took you so long?” Smitty’s question caused Brock to roll his eyes while Craig just laughed.
“It’s not like we have much hurry Smitty would you calm down?” Marcel spoke the truth when saying there wasn’t much excitement waiting for them at their “home”, but it didn’t mean that it thrilled him to be on the surface all the time. At last Smitty stopped his chatter and enjoyed the walk down towards the beach. It was short lived though because once he saw the beach Smitty made a run for it. Diving straight into the ocean before shifting. One by one they each submerged themselves into the water. Marcel stares back at the forest and dark sky scattered with stars before following the others.
“Could you be a little more discreet when shifting what if someone saw you. You didn’t even look.” Brock’s motherly tone was directed right at Smitty who swam in the dead front.
“Relax I checked. Come on, Ryan and Evan are probably waiting for us.” Craig, Brock, and Marcel followed behind Smitty as they passed through towers of rocks, schools of colorful fish and glimmering pieces of human treasure that sat on the sand waiting to be rediscovered by any passionate soul. Soon they approached the base of a cliff located on the east edge of the shore before entering through a narrow passage that led to a small cavern hidden under the tall land structure. It wasn’t much, but it keeps them safe and they considered it home. Just as they swam right into the cave there drifted Evan as he watched a frantic Ryan swim back and forth.
This should be fun.
As they swam closer Ryan panic rose as his gaze fell on them. He anxiously tugged at the gray cloth tied around his arm. Something was definitely wrong. It took a lot for Ohm of all sirens to become so panicked. Marcel swam up to Evan as Evan’s eyes followed Ryan’s every action as if something was going to attack him.
“What did you do?!”
For once he didn’t try to play it off as a simple mistake and Evan’s stern expression locked onto Marcel. “This wasn’t my fault.”
“What do you mean?”
Evan’s changed behavior told him that something had upset him, not as distraught as Ohm, but if they were both stressing over this, then it was serious. “Would you just spit it out already-“
“I was spotted by a human!” Ohm quickly covered his mouth as if he regretted his statement.
“So what, you erased their memory right, it's fine.” Marcel wasn’t pleased that Ohm had been discovered but his ability allowed for him to get out of this situation so he wasn’t worried. A nervous laugh followed his remark.
“And what if I... didn’t?”
“What?!” Everyone’s eyes except Evan’s fell on Ryan. Now he was worried.
“Why wouldn’t you erase his memory? You, the merman with multiple abilities and you didn’t use them. What if he hurt you or worse captured you?” Surprisingly, it was Smitty who was questioning Ohm’s choices.
“Smitty’s got a point, for once, but that doesn’t solve the problem and I don’t understand why you’d accept his stupid offer.” This conversation was making Marcel tense up and Evan’s tone wasn’t helping him keep his imperturbability. He didn’t trust humans at all. Not one bit.
“What offer?” Craig’s eyes flickered with fear when asking what this “offer” could be. Marcel didn’t portray his genuine concern about the situation, but the shivers of unsteadiness that ran through his spine down to the tips of his cerulean fins advised him to swim far away.
“He asked him on a date, a date with someone who isn’t even from this town.”
“Evan... please tell me you’re joking and this is some stupid prank.” Smitty’s plead caused Evan’s expression to harden as he looked away from him. Confirming that this wasn’t a game. Marcel could see the panic flow through Smitty as his ruby and sapphire scales that decorated his fins caused him to roam around the cavern in a frantic mode.
“What, but- who?!”
“Delirious’s older brother…” Ryan’s eyes wandered around the immersed grotto trying to avoid eye contact as much as possible. “I don’t know what came over me. It’s as if I know I had to erase what he saw but I-I just couldn’t. I’m sorry I probably put all of us in danger.”
“This isn’t happening, not again I don’t... you have to do it, but only to erase his memories. We can’t risk it.” Smitty finally stopped swimming wildly as he pleads with Ryan to follow through in order to keep them safe. Small beads of air escaped the corners of his eyes while he focused on Ohm, but Ohm couldn’t look Smitty in the eyes. Marcel barely glimpsed at them as they only swarmed with guilt.
“I trust Ohm.” Everyone spun toward Brock as if he’d gone crazy. “I think-”
“This isn’t the time to start with I think... sure very few humans know about our existence but that was through a lot of trusts. I’m sorry Brock, but this isn’t about gut feelings.” Marcel voice was tainted with severity and anxiety. He knew he was right because if this stranger had destructive intentions them it could be disastrous.
“Just do what you think is right Ryan. Goodnight.” And with that Brock swam further into the cavern to find a peaceful place of rest. Everybody’s gaze followed Brock until he disappeared through the rocks. Everyone looked back at Ohm as he continued to avert eye contact by peering down. Finally, Ryan looked up, his face covered in uncertainty.
“I... OK, tomorrow I’ll meet up with him, and erase his memory.
Shipwrecked - Ohmtoonz
Basically all the guys are pirates and Ohm’s a merman. Thanks to @rainstorm67 for the inspiration.
As always I hope you enjoy :D and if you like this you can find all my fics here to wonder through.
[Luke POV]
“I can’t wait to get off this goddamn boat”
He heard Delirious muffle his laugh next to him, the both of them currently on their hands and knees scrubbing the top deck, he was starving, the captain having decided that neither of them should be fed alongside their punishment. Normally he hated the looks of pity the crew would throw his way at his predicament, but he had no mind to complain when every now and then they’d chuck them the odd vegetable scrap whilst the Captain had his back turned.
“You love it really” He couldn’t help but snort at Delirious’ comment, they’d been in some shitty situations in the past but nothing like this.
“Only when we’re with a captain who actually knows what the fuck he’s doin’, if we weren’t a couple days from land I’d fuckin’ mutiny” The way his friend paled at his comment showed how he took the statement a lot more seriously, worry making its way onto his face.
“Not so loud, you don’t know who’s listenin’. Just keep your mouth shut until we reach land, I don’t wanna die cause of your big mouth”
“I don’ give a fuck, nobody ‘ere like him either, I could snap my fingers and have everyone on my side in a second” Even as he said those words he felt the weight of them get heavier, barely registering the sound of footsteps approaching him until they stopped right in front of him, at which he could only mutter a swear and pray to every god he knew.
“Is that so Cartoonz?” The malice in those words sent a shiver down his spine and he hated how weak he felt in this moment, helpless but to look up at the man now looming over him.
“Is that what, sir?”
The Captain huffed a laugh above him “You’ve got balls I’ll give you that. Now, what’s this about a mutiny?” An onslaught of curses sounded in his head and in the corner of his eye he could see Delirious reach for the knife he kept in his boot.
“Think you may need to go back inside sir, sun’s clearly gotten to your head, no word of a mutiny here” In the background, he could hear a couple of the crew members try to muffle their laughter, but he knew with those words he’d sealed his fate. He cast one more apologetic glance towards Delirious before Gorilla blocked his view.
He let out the breath he’d been holding, he knew Gorilla would stop Delirious from doing anything stupid meaning that his friend wouldn’t follow the same fate he did.
“I’m going to miss your jokes Cartoonz, but all good things must come to an end. Seize him” He felt strong hands grab his arms and pull them behind his back, he didn’t bother struggling, knew it wouldn’t make a difference, he only made sure to spit at the captain as he was pushed past, getting a sick sense of satisfaction when it hit him in the eye.
“Nice shot” He heard the words whispered to him, the thick accent telling him that it was Brian who would be taking him to the chopping block. He felt rope being tied around his wrists before he felt his ankles also being bound together, in the back of his mind he noted how Brian had given him a bit of wiggle room in his binds, silently thanking the Irishman before he finished. “For what it’s worth, I would ‘a sided wit’ ya” He felt a final pat on his shoulder before he was lifted and left to stand on the plank that would signal his doom.
“Any final words Cartoonz?”
He gave one final glance around the crew, people he’d come to appreciate and respect over their time together and he’s sure that under the right circumstances they could’ve dominated the seven seas, but that was for another lifetime.
“I think fuck you sums it up pretty well”
“Very well, Wildcat, if you will” The fact that the captain didn’t have the balls to push him over himself, was just salt in the wound. He noticed the brief hat tip Tyler gave him before picking up the stick that would send him over, and it was only a second later that he felt himself being pushed into the waters below him.
The cold water hit him like a train, instantly taking any air out of him upon impact and he was quick to start struggling in an effort to escape his binds. Despite Brian having made them loose, no matter how much he tried he couldn’t get his hands free, and with every second he descended further into the cold unforgiving depths, his lungs screaming for air.
It’s when he has no energy left to fight when he swears that he can feel his body start to shut down, that he sees a figure approach him. It’s when dots start to color his vision and he feels on the cusp of unconsciousness that he feels a hot searing pain on his right eye and even with no air left he manages to scream in the water until the salty water hit the back of his throat.
Before he knows it he’s coughing water out of his mouth and throat before taking deep breaths of air, paying no mind to his surroundings as he tries to get air back into his lungs. When he’s finally got some semblance of control back again he looks at his surrounding, realising that he is both still bound and underwater.
Before he could question what was happening he felt his arms be cut free and in the next moment his legs as well before a figure swam up in front of him and it took all semblance of control not to react.
He could only describe the creature in front of him as some form of merman, he could make out a large green tail from the waist down, almost camouflaged in the water, only able to see it due to the few rays of sunshine that reached far enough to glitter off of their scales. The upper half looked like any other person, broad chest, two arms and a thick head of hair that despite its short length still managed to flow with the water. He noticed the scars that littered not only his chest but his tail as well, showing how he was no stranger to battle.
“I hope we are well met, Luke Patterson”
A multitude of questions ran through his head and he was struggling with which one should take precedence, but when no answer was forthcoming the creature in front of him continued.
“We’ve been watching your ship for a while now, my kin and I. Your Captain has something of great value to us, our King, and we’d like him returned to us”
The sentence did little to answer his questions, instead adding another ten on top of that until he felt like his brain was going to explode.
“I am a merman of the Atlantic clan, normally we don’t venture so close to land or the surface, but this is of great importance. The reason you can breathe under the water is because I branded your eye, however, only in the presence in one of my kind will you be able to use this gift. So, will you help us?”
“So, let me get this straight, first you stalked me, then branded me a like a bit of cattle and now you want me to help your asses out? I’d rather die thanks” He felt confident in his words, confidence that quickly diminished at the malicious grin that spread across the merman’s face.
“Well I wouldn’t have put it so crudely, but yes, and it wasn’t a request. If you’d prefer we’d quite happily leave you to drown again before we start poking holes in that ship and picking off the people on it like fish in a barrel.” He felt a sickening feeling rise up in his throat, but the merman hadn’t finished yet. “A fun game we used to play would be how far could we drag a person underwater before the pressure causes their lungs to collapse, I hear it can be quite painful” The last part was whispered to him and even though he was in the water he felt an even colder shiver run down his spine, the merman moving behind him to place two hands on his shoulders. “I wonder how long Jonathon would last? 100 feet? 200? Maybe you could keep track for us?”
“I’ll do it”
“Wonderful” the merman then swam back in front of him, a bright smile on its face that did very little to reassure him “I would’ve hated to see such a waste of a fine specimen like yourself”
“Can we just get this over with please?”
“Eager aren’t we, first we must wait for nightfall and then another of my kin will join us to get you onboard, after that it’s up to you. Try not to let us down, we’re not known for our generosity”
All he could do was nod before he felt long arms wrap around him, not having a chance to protest before they were moving, the merman carrying them both surprisingly fast through the water until they caught up with the boat he’d been thrown off of not 15 minutes earlier.
It wasn’t too hard to keep pace with it after that, waiting for what felt like hours below the water's surface until he could finally return to the ship he’d called home for the last few months.
********************************************************************
He carefully walked across the top deck, maneuvering himself best he could to avoid the areas he knew would creak a little too loudly, before quietly making his way below the deck to see the person he cared for most.
It had been relatively easy getting onto the ship, he was surprised to see the merman shift their tails into legs, but he had little time to question them before he was hauled over one of their shoulders and they began to scale up the side of the large ship, letting him climb up and over the edge before descending back into the water.
He stopped in front of the door he knew his friends were behind, briefly listening to the sounds of Delirious’s’ muffled talking occasionally mixed with someone else in the crew, with a deep breath he gently pushed the door open, taking a step inside only to be met with the blank stares of the crew.
“Evening gentlemen, did I miss much?” He whispered the words, not wanting to alert the captain of his presence but he was only met with confused stares and whispers between one another. It was Delirious who came up to him first, he thought that this would be one of the handful of times that they’d hug it out but instead, he was met by anger in his friends’ gaze.
“If the Captain weren’t in his chambers right now I’d punch the fuck outta you, what the hell were you thinking?” He didn’t have time to answer, as despite his words Delirious leaned forward and pulled him into a tight hug which he was happy to reciprocate, the two of them just holding one another until they heard a cough come from somewhere in the room. “How the fuck are you even here? How’d you get that scar?”
“Gimme a moment to get my bearings and I’ll tell you everythin’” He then gave a final pat to Delirious’s’ shoulder before he made his way around the crew giving each of them a small greeting before he was once again by Delirious’s’ side.
“Brian get the Rum, you guys are gonna need it to believe a word I’m gonna tell ya”
Once glasses were distributed and everyone was seated he told them what happened, about the bitterly cold water and the searing hot pain, the mission he had been assigned almost as if he had made a deal with the devil.
Despite the outlandish nature of his tale, everyone seemed sullen and serious like they fully understood the gravity of the situation they were now in, that if they didn’t rescue the merman from this ship they were dead men.
Over the course of the night, they made their plans, silently thanking his luck that the majority of people on this ship hated the captain as much as he did. Their plan wasn’t foolproof, it was haphazard at best but it’s all they could manage in the short time they had, not realizing how long it had taken before Moo came down to tell them that it was almost sun up. It was almost showtime.
It’s when they’re rushing around the cabin gathering their supplies that they’re caught, the captain stood in the doorway sword aimed at his throat with a sick grin on his face.
“What a surprise to see you here Cartoonz, it appears you’ve had quite the adventure since we last met” He motioned towards his eye with his sword, barely flinching away in time to stop the sword grazing against his face. “Now, whilst I’d love to hear all about it we’re making landfall tomorrow and there’s a lot to be done, we can’t be having a traitor around here spreading lies amongst my crew now can we”
He refused to answer, instead hoping the sheer fury in his eyes would be enough to convey his hatred for the man in front of him.
“Nothing to say? Fine, makes my life easier. Satt, take him up top and tie him up, with chains this time. See if you can find something to weigh him down with as well, there’s a good lad” He saw the young man in the doorway simply give a nod before scurrying off to who knows where. “As for you lot, you’re lucky I don’t throw you over with him, but I can’t go losing half my crew can I? See I’m not that cruel am I?”
He just about heard the snort come from Delirious, even in the face of adversity he still stuck true to himself.
“What are you still standing around for? Up top NOW” He watched his friends come to life around him, picking up the last of their belongings before making their way out and onto the top deck of the ship, leaving just him and the captain still stood in the room. “I had such high hopes in you Cartoonz”
Again, he didn’t answer, instead, he spat in his eye much as he’d done yesterday, earning him a hard slap across the face which caused him to lose balance for a moment. Before he could recover the Captain grabbed the back of his shirt and dragged him out of the room and out onto the deck where he was met with the sight of his friends standing in a line ready to watch him die…again.
The captain shoved him towards the direction of the plank, and he would’ve fallen flat on his face had it not been for Satt quickly grabbing hold of him. He quietly thanked the man who only gave him a half-apologetic smile before binding him in his chains, and it wasn’t too long before he found himself on the edge of the plank again, watching the water churn below him.
“Any last words Cartoonz? I hope you don’t make a habit out of this”
He briefly glanced back, noticing some of the crew with their hands on their weapons, giving him a brief nod showing that they were ready and waiting for when he came back.
“See ya tomorrow” He then jumped of his own accord into the cold waters below and once again he found himself struggling futilely against the chains.
It wasn’t too long before the same merman from yesterday returned, only this time he lacked any sort of friendly manner, his slightly scaled hand reaching up and around his throat, choking him even as water was forcibly making its way down his throat.
When he thought that this was it, that he’d actually die this time the merman released him and similar to yesterday he found that he could breathe under the water.
“We spared your life on the condition that you release our King. You failed and now must pay with your life”
He just about caught the arm that once again came darting towards him, using all his strength in an effort to hold it back.
“Wait, just lemme explain. You send me back now and we can get him for you”
He felt the arm he was holding waver slightly, knowing he’d gotten through to the merman he continued his explanation
“Me and the crew got a plan ready, all they’re waiting for is the signal, you get me up there and we’ll get your King back, I swear” The merman looked him over, as if determining whether he was telling the truth or not but apparently he was satisfied with whatever he saw, quickly moving behind him to snap the chains that still bound his arms and legs.
“You have one hour before we tear this ship apart” Before he could answer he was once again grabbed and they made their way quickly through the water, it didn’t take long until they were side by side with the boat and barely a moment later he felt the both of them breach the surface where he was then thrown.
He flailed in the air, tried to get any semblance of control before he landed face first onto the deck of the ship, causing any and all movement onboard to cease as they watched him pick himself up.
He shook his hair slightly to get rid of some of the water, devilish grin on his face as he stared towards the captain. “Boys, I think it’s about time we had a mutiny don’t you?”
Barely a second later and carnage broke out, he managed to duck to avoid the sword that had just been where he was stood, quickly sidestepping so he could analyze the scene in front of him.
All he saw was fighting around him, he briefly noted how his crew outnumbered the captains, if only slightly, before a shout caught his attention, just turning in time to catch the sword Delirious threw at him before he jumped into the fray of the fight.
He managed to pull Satt out of the way from a sword that was where his throat was not a second earlier, he managed to slice someone from naval to throat before they could flank Wildcat and threw his sword towards Jiggly who caught it in time to block the sword that had just tried to slash him in two.
He could see that they were winning, most of the captain’s crew were now dead whilst most of his remained relatively unharmed, that was until he noticed Delirious in a fight with the Captain, and he could tell from the sloppy movements with his sword that Delirious was tired.
He ran towards them, only speeding up when he heard a shout from Delirious as the captain’s sword cut along his thigh, causing him to falter, allowing time for the captain to once again bring his sword up for the killing blow.
He barrelled into the captain, knocking them both off of their feet and the sword to go flying out of his hand. He was quick to land the first punch, ignoring the man struggling under him, he threw punch after punch until the captain was nothing but a bloody pulp below him.
He made sure to keep the man conscious, standing up from his motionless body whilst he gave Delirious a hand up off of the floor, his friend wincing in pain at the pressure he put on his leg. It wasn’t long before Jiggly and Mini came, putting one of Delirious’s’ arms over each of their shoulders before practically dragging him away to tend to his leg.
It was then that Tyler approached him, rope in hand which he graciously accepted, thanking him for his help before tying up the captain and carrying him, only to drop him in the middle of the deck, telling his friends to do whatever they wanted to him whilst he took care of business.
It was on his walk to the captain’s chambers that he felt fatigue hit him, the last 24 hours hitting him like a freight train as he stopped outside the captain’s door. He wasn’t surprised to find that it was locked, only after several attempts was he able to kick it open. A brief glance around the room told him that the merman supposedly here wasn’t in fact here.
He felt the deathly grip of panic in his mind, the thought of the merman waiting for him just outside these wooden walls sent a cold chill down his spine, so much so that he almost missed the faint sound of singing that was within the room.
He walked around the room in an effort to locate it, stopping in front of some kind of bookshelf where the song was loudest, it didn’t take too much effort to knock the shelf down, eliciting a secret room where he saw the merman in question within some kind of tank.
“Was that really necessary?” He looked towards the owner of the voice, he looked similar to the one he’d met except he was different, ethereal almost. There seemed almost to be a faint glow about him even in the dim of the cabin, that there hadn’t been with the others he’d met, and he could feel himself entranced. “I’m sure you tore that bookshelf down for a reason other than staring longingly at me?”
He shook his head slightly, coming back to himself as he stayed looking at the creature in front of him, he wasn’t as toned as the one he’d met or as scarred, but he still showed signs of battle, of calloused hands and shoulders that carried the weight of the world.
“You Ohm?”
“Congratulations, you win a prize”
Any enthrallment he’d had over the creature was now gone, not one to take someone else’s sarcasm so lightly he quickly made his way towards the tank, so he was face to face with him.
“Quit the sarcasm, I’m here to break your ass out”
“Break my ass out? I would’ve at least thought we’d have dinner first, I mean you’re a fine-looking man, but I have some standards” He heard the merman chuckle at his own joke, a sound that made him feel lighter than air for a moment until he remembered the urgency of their situation.
“Look I don’t have time for this, you’re friends out there want you back and if we don’t hurry they’re gonna break through the ship.”
Even through the water, he could see the creature in front of him pale at his words, the confidence he’d had not a minute before was completely replaced with fear. “I can’t go, they’ll kill me”
“Well that sounds like an issue for you to deal with, I ain’t lettin’ this ship go down”
“So that’s it then? You’re just gonna throw me to the sharks” He hummed in response before going back to the captain’s quarters, rifling through his chest for a pair of trousers before heading back towards the merman. “I’m your best bet for survival, do you honestly think they’re gonna let you guys go?”
“They swore to me, I was told that their word is their bond, so yeah they have to let us go but only if you go join them”
“You know that’s only true provided one of our laws aren’t broken in said bond”
“And? We ain’t breakin’ no laws”
“No, you’re not, but my race have kept themselves hidden for thousands of years, do you know why?”
“I dunno, you get sunburn otherwise” He was surprised to hear the small giggle from the merman again, the sound alleviating some of the tension he didn’t know he had.
“Our number one law is that land dwellers can’t know of our existence, and here’s a whole ship of people who have not only seen us but also been branded. This ship was doomed the moment you saw one of us” He was stood frozen, he had no reason to believe the creature in front of him, it could all just be a ploy to keep him alive but yet some part of him just knew he was telling the truth, that their fates were sealed regardless. “So, I reiterate, are you gonna give them what they want? Or are you gonna let me help you?”
“Shit” he whispered, rubbing a hand down his face before staring at the merman in front of him, and his decision was made. “We need all the help we can get”
Despite the sense of dread that filled him about the situation, watching the bright smile on the merman in front of him caused a flicker of hope to ignite inside him.
“Excellent” He stood there transfixed as he watched Ohm pull himself up and out of the tank, his tail shifting to a pair of reasonably toned legs and try as he might he couldn’t tear his eyes away from the man striding towards. “Like what you see?”
He snapped out of his trance, immediately looking away from the creature in front of him as he held out the trousers for him to put on.
“Don’t tell me you’re shy” despite not looking at him he could hear the smile painted across the merman’s face as he spoke.
“Just put the trousers on will you”
He heard a sigh before he felt the trousers being tugged out of his grasp “Spoilsport”
“If we make it outta here alive I’ll show you just how shy I am” He doesn’t know why he flirted back, let alone at another species, but it sent a thrill down his spine, one he hadn’t felt with either man or woman he’d come across. He shot a smile and a wink towards the now smug looking merman before heading out and towards the top deck, knowing that Ohm wasn’t too far behind him.
On the top deck, his crew were mostly milling about, there was no sign of the captain but the trail of blood heading towards the edge of the boat told him what fate had befallen him. He whistled his friends to attention, all of them gathering around him in an instant.
“Everyone this is Ohm, this is who the mermen want but now we have to come up with a plan to save him and escape the bloodthirsty fuckers below us”
“What happened to giving him up? They’ll leave us alone if we give him up” There were a few shouts of agreement from the rest of his friends and at the sight of hands reaching forward to grab a hold of Ohm he quickly moved to intercept them.
“Cartoonz what the fuck. Don’t tell me you value this…thing over us?” He ignored Ohms shout of protest at the remark before facing his crew.
“They’re gonna kill us regardless if we give him up or not, you guys ain’t dumb you know it to be true, and our best shot is with Ohm fightin’ alongside us. You don’t like it you may as well jump overboard now and let the fuckers tear you apart” The silence that followed his statement told him that his friends had no objections to the change in plans, instead he moved from in front of Ohm to look at him in anticipation. “So, what’s the plan?”
“We have to go into the water” The sighs and grumbles he heard from his crew were almost comical and he was half tempted to join them.
“So, you want us to kill ourselves, right, well fat lot of use you were”
“I can only help you in the water, my powers are limited out of it, so yeah, if you want to survive we need to go into the water.”
******************************************************************
He doesn’t know how long they took making their plan, only that it wasn’t much longer before all of his friends were branded similarly to him, except not on their eye, Ohm had told him that whoever had done it must have been pretty sadistic.
Before they could do much else however the whole boat shook, everyone stumbling in an effort to balance themselves, he only stayed up because Ohm had grabbed a hold of him, pulling him up and making sure he was steady but his hands didn’t leave his body.
“Time’s up Luke, get your people to safety”
“How do you know-“
“No time now, I’ll explain later when you’re showing me just how not shy you are” Before he could say another word Ohm ran from his side, leaping over the edge of the ship and he could see his legs transform back into a tail before disappearing behind the boat ledge, the sound of a splash of water showing he’d made it.
Before he could do anything another jolt was sent through the ship and it was he who saved Delirious from falling before pushing him towards the other side of the boat that Ohm had gone.
“C’mon everyone, get your asses outta here” He made sure that everyone had left the ship, the creaking and cracking of the wood telling him it wasn’t a moment too soon before he jumped into the cold depths.
The moment he was in the water he heard a deafening shriek in the water, he tried to cover his ears in an effort to block it out, but it was futile, he’s sure his head would explode before the sound ceased entirely.
He wasn’t the only one, he turned to see Mini also removing his hands from his ears before they all started to swim in the direction Ohm had told them to go.
It was long and tiring, it had barely been a minute before he saw a merman grab hold of Vanoss, the man tried swinging his sword in vain, but the merman was quick to evade the slow strikes in the water whilst he started pulling the man downwards.
He tried to swim down to help when a blur of something passed him and he was met with the sight of Vanoss being thrown through the water towards him whilst the merman who had taken him was surrounded by a deep blue cloud, blood. He just managed to grab onto Evan when he was close enough to reach and, making sure he was okay, they headed off once again.
Ahead of him, he saw several of the guys in an outward circle trying to sluggishly fend off the merman with their weapons, every now and then one of the creatures would swipe at them, catching some part of their skin and causing them to bleed.
In the background he could see Ohm darting about in the water, he seemed to always have at least four pursuers on him, every now and then he’d dart past one of the mermen surrounding his friends, blood quickly appearing showing that Ohm had managed to injure said merman in some way.
Eventually, all of them made it into a group together, some of the more injured people, Delirious, Vanoss, Wildcat, were kept closer within the ring whilst the rest of them took the brunt of the attack. Despite somewhat keeping them at bay he knew it was just a game to them, they could easily overpower them and yet were content to play with their food.
He doesn’t know how long they were like that, all he knew was that he was tired, his swings having become even slower due to fatigue and the same was similar for his friends, he silently prayed for a miracle to save them as they still tried to keep the creatures at bay.
Eventually one of them got bored and he saw the mermen dip below their huddled mass, and from the shriek, he heard from Jiggly he could tell he’d been grabbed. After that it became chaos, all of them reaching out to try and get a hold on the man sinking ever lower, only causing them to expose themselves and making it too easy for the remaining merman to grab them and make the slow descent down.
Although underwater he could still hear the screams his friends gave, just as clearly as if they were on land, as they were forced further and further down. He briefly noted he was the only one that had been spared and tried as best he could to try and free his friends nearest to him.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you” He turned to see the merman who he’d first spoken to calmly floating beside him, he was quick to turn and raise his sword which didn’t garner any form of reaction from the creature. “Put that kids toy away, it’s no use down here” Despite his words he still tried to slash at the creature in front of him which was easily dodged. “Want to bet on your life on which of your friends die first? My money is on the Irishman down there”
He could still hear the screams of his friends and was helpless but to watch them descend further into the depths, although futile he tried once again to swing his sword, only for the merman to easily evade it before smacking it out of his hand. The creature's hand came to swipe at him and once again he caught it, barely holding it back before another high-pitched shriek rang through the water.
He saw Ohm swim by in a blur, seemingly unaffected by the noise whilst all of them, even the merman, seemed to be affected by it, causing the arm he was holding back to falter.
As soon as the sound was gone a series of large tentacles seemingly came out of nowhere, tearing the mermen off and away from his friends, catching one of the creatures and crushing it into two.
It was then that he saw a giant creature emerge from the depths below him, and if he didn’t know any better he’d say the myths about there being a Kraken were true. He didn’t have time to process that thought before even more tentacles reached out to the mermen still surrounding them, and while they were diverted his friends made the quick move upwards, a brief check for injuries showed nothing major, before they carried on their journey.
Ohm was quick to join them, a pod of dolphins following him, who were quick to grab a hold of members of the crew before dragging them off to some location only they knew. As he was traveling he looked at Ohm who was swimming beside him, despite the injuries and fatigue that seemed to be affecting the creature he was once again entranced by the way he moved through the water.
He quickly looked away when Ohm caught him staring, despite being in the water he heard the creature's voice crystal clear beside him. “You did well back there, not many people can hold out against one of us”
He let out a scoff at the comment “They were only playing with us, lucky that thing came when it did”
“Hey! Don’t be rude, Tiny saved your life remember” He didn’t know what to laugh at more, the defensive tone of the creature next to him or the name of the ginormous tentacled being he’d witnessed earlier.
“Tiny?”
“I didn’t think he’d grow that big” They both laughed together, before the sound dissipating with the water that passed by them as they made their way to safety.
**********************************************************************
When they got close enough to land the dolphins stopped to allow them to swim the rest of the way, having somewhat rested a little he made short work of the journey, noting how much slower Ohm was now traveling and how he seemed to physically be in pain.
Once stood in the shallows he helped his friends up and out of the water, where they made the short walk onto the sandy beach before collapsing again. Ohm was the last to come out, his tail having shifted to human legs again and he could see the struggle it took the creature to travel the small distance up the beach.
He strode into the deeper water, ignoring Ohm’s questions when he picked him up bridal style before carrying him back towards the beach and laying him gently onto the sand.
“How long can you stay on land?”
“Couple of days” It was then Ohm tried to shift himself and he could almost hear the wince of pain he gave, ignoring Ohms protests he started to push the creature around to find the source of the pain.
The most prominent injury he saw was a long, somewhat deep gash traveling down his thigh, whilst not immediately serious blue blood continued to ooze out of it and he could see Ohm getting paler by the minute.
“Why didn’t you say anythin’ you fucker?”
“I have advanced healing, nothing to worry about really” He didn’t believe the falsetto tone in the merman’s voice, and instead took off his shirt in order to press it down hard onto the wound to try and slow the bleeding.
“Mini?” The somewhat faint grunt he got in response was somewhat reassuring to him “You still got those med supplies?”
He waited what felt like forever until he heard back from the other man “Yeah but everything’s soaking wet, might just salvage some of the bandages if we leave ‘em out to dry”
“You got a needle and stitch?”
“Yeah, but-“
“Bring ‘em here, and get those bandages out, I’m sure some of the guys are gonna need ‘em soon”
Without another word, Mini passed him a needle and some thread, and without a second thought, he put the thread through the needle, tying the end before removing his shirt from the wound and pressing the two sides of the wound together. He cast a final look towards Ohm, fear evident in his eyes and he felt his heart sink in worry about the creature in front of him.
“You ever been stitched before?” He knew the answer before he asked, the shake of Ohm’s head only reaffirming that. With the promise to be back in a second he left Ohm and headed towards the small tree cover not too far away, it took kicking around the ground for a little while but he eventually found a stick large enough for his purpose.
He quickly returned to Ohms side before holding the stick towards Ohms' mouth.
“You can’t be serious”
“It’s gonna sting like a bitch, it’s this or ya’ tongue” He almost laughed at the look of disdain that crossed Ohm’s face before he grabbed the stick from him.
“Fine, but I thought you’d take me to dinner before gagging and touching me up” This time he did laugh a little, and the sound of Ohms laugh joining his once again made him feel light as a feather. “Just so you know my safe word is Tuna” with that he put the stick in his mouth and tried to relax as much as possible for what was to come.
He could only stare at the creature dumbfounded, a part of him wanted to laugh again but the other half was stunned into silence, he felt Ohm move impatiently under him and he was brought back to attention. “I ain’t even gonna ask”
Ohm only winked at him in response, he cast one final look before he once again held the cut together. He made short work of stitching the cut together, given his limited resources and his squirming patient it most definitely wasn’t his best work, but it’ll serve its purpose.
He grabbed his now ruined shirt that had been previously discarded and washed it in the seawater before walking back to Ohm and washing the wound with it. Once done Ohm was quick to remove the stick from his mouth, throwing it far into the distance whilst he made gagging noises.
“Don’t be such a baby”
Ohm glared at him briefly before moving his leg around a little to gauge how much he could move it, he didn’t manage to get it very far before he winced in pain again, letting the leg fall back onto the ground.
“Hurts like a bitch, you definitely owe me dinner after that” He chuckled at Ohm’s predicament, the creatures glare at him only lasting a moment before he started giggling as well. He offered a hand to Ohm who gratefully accepted it, and hauled him to his feet before carefully lifting him up again and carrying him to the tree cover.
“You saved our lives, you can have whatever you want”
The merman seemed to ponder on that for a moment before leaning up closer against him, leaning in to almost whisper in his ear. “What if I want to climb you like a tree?”
He took a moment to study Ohm to try and discern whether it was a joke or not, but by the devilish grin on his face he’d meant every word, and once again he felt that thrill of excitement again.
“What happened to dinner first?”
“I’m willing to make an exception this one-time”
“Oh, thank you, I must be pretty damn special for you to abandon your morals like that” They had now reached the cover of the trees, but he made no effort to move, instead content to just stand there holding onto Ohm who was just as happy to hold onto him.
“Something like that yeah” He tried not to think too hard about those words once they left Ohm’s mouth, not sure if he wanted to tackle the implications they held, instead they carried on standing there, staring at one another until the sound of people approaching broke their moment, he quickly dropped Ohm down on the ground before heading towards his friends and bringing those most injured under the shade with the merman.
Despite the fact that he’d barely had time to rest and truly process everything that had happened since he was first cast off of the ship, adrenaline still kept him moving. Assembling teams to go search nearby for resources whilst he tended to those who needed it, mostly it was just small scratches, but Tyler had a particularly nasty gash on his temple and Evan on his right arm where the merman had grabbed him, both of them needing stitches.
The small search had yielded little in the way of food or fresh water, but they did come back with dry brush and sticks that could be used for a fire, however, at least for their first night, he wasn’t comfortable in lighting one, not knowing what eyes were watching them.
As the sun began to set below the horizon everyone settled themselves down somewhere and made the effort to try to fall asleep. He doesn’t know how long he spent trying to sleep, only that the moon was high up in the sky until he heard a gentle voice barely discernible over the sound of the waves crashing on the beach behind them.
He instantly knew it was Ohm who was singing, the gentle lilt of his voice in a language he didn’t know helped settle him down, and for the first time in months, he felt truly at ease, happy to let the soft voice lull him into a peaceful sleep.
**********************************************************************
He woke to find a hand gently stroking through his hair, he wasn’t going to deny how nice the touch felt so simply pushed back into the touch before relaxing again, feeling the hand pause briefly before working through his hair again.
“Most of the guys have gone out looking for water” He wasn’t surprised to hear that it was Ohm next to him.
He could only hum in response, too tired to actually contribute to the conversation, which only earned a small chuckle from Ohm. “You always this grouchy in the morning, well afternoon now.” He simply hummed again, eliciting another small giggle from Ohm before they fell into a comfortable silence for a while.
“Can you take me to the water?”
“You’ve got legs, take yourself” He grumbled which only earnt a slight tug on his hair.
“But, I’m injured. Just imagine poor little old me hobbling slowly across the sand, maybe I’ll slip halfway and-“
“You’re such a little bitch” He didn’t need to see Ohm to know that there was a shit-eating grin spread across his face. He rubbed his eyes briefly before slowly rolling himself up into a seated position whilst he stretched his arms up high above him and let out a long yawn.
He noticed Ohm’s gaze travel down his still exposed abdomen before he stood up, holding a hand out to help lift Ohm up, where similar to yesterday he carried the merman into the shallow water.
Once deep enough Ohm was quick to escape his grasp, although not shifting into his tail he was still pretty fast in the water and it was a challenge to keep track of him until he eventually gave up, instead content to watch the waves far into the distance.
He was broken out of his train of thought due to water being splashed at him and he was met with the sight of Ohm holding a couple of fish in one arm whilst the other was preparing to splash him again.
“Here, take these to shore, I’m gonna try and catch a few more” Without another word he took the already dead fish from Ohm and lay them on a small rock nearby, leaving Ohm to the water before collecting the firewood collected yesterday.
It was surprisingly easy to start the fire, the leaves and twigs so dry that it didn’t take much to set them alight. Pulling the knife from his boot he made quick work of gutting the fish, using one of the longer sticks to hold it above the fire as it cooked.
It wasn’t too much later that Ohm joined him, five more fish in his arms before taking a seat next to him, both participating in light chatter as they waited for the fish to cook.
Just as the first two fish were done, some of the guys returned back, sullen looks on their faces, their search for water had so far been unsuccessful, some of the guys having decided to try and venture a bit further before making the journey back.
Despite their thirst they gratefully accepted the food that was offered them, they ate in complete silence, not wanting to address how they were going to survive here and instead making the most of what they had whilst they still could.
Darkness was starting to descend fast, they’d started going around the group and telling some of the more funnier stories they’d experienced during their years on the sea, Moo talking about a rookie who had gone to use the head only to be hit by a boon and cast overboard. After which Jiggly mentioned about how the chef on his last voyage had made a giant plate of fresh dried meats, with bread and fruits, only to trip and drop it onto the Captain, and finally, he regaled the tale about how Delirious had managed to somehow tip a galley over as they were headed to shore, needless to say, the other crewmembers weren’t impressed but he almost drowned due to the stitch he got from laughing.
As he’d finished his story and the others around the fire were laughing the rest of the crew returned, judging by the sour looks on their faces their search hadn’t gone too well either.
“There’s no fucking water anywhere on this goddamn Island” The booming voice of Wildcat caused them to turn, however he seemed to only get angrier at the sight of them, before angrily heading directly towards him “So our ‘captain’ gets to sit on his arse and be waited on hand and foot by this...thing” He waved a hand towards Ohm letting everyone know who he meant before continuing “whilst the rest of us actually try to find a way to survive. It’s a fucking joke, you’re not any better than the last guy”
He couldn’t stop his own rage rearing its ugly head at his words “I fuckin’ saved you, he fuckin’ saved you, you’d do well to show us some respect” He was now toe to toe with Tyler, the both of them staring each other down.
“There it is again, you’re fucking taking that things side again. Do we mean nothing to you, huh? The first thing that offers its ass to you and you’re willing to shove our faces in the dirt”
He couldn’t stop himself from pulling his arm back, but just as he was about to punch Tyler he felt someone grab hold of his arm, turning he saw Delirious holding his arm back and shaking his head in lieu of telling him to stop. At that he felt the energy and anger he’d felt drain out of him, his arm going lax in his friends' grip and he felt Delirious let him go.
“I get that you’re thirsty and hungry and tired, we all are, but fightin’ amongst ourselves ain’t gonna help us. I’m not askin’ for you all to like me, or Ohm, but the truth is he’s our best bet outta here” Silence followed his statement and he unconsciously let out a breath when Tyler stepped back from him. “I’m not askin’ ya to follow me to the ends of the earth, just off of this island and then you can all go and do whatever the fuck you were doin’ before we all met”
Everybody was looking at Tyler now, waiting to see what he did, and it seemed that they all collectively let out a breath of relief when he nodded and took a seat by the fire, taking one of the fish that had been cooked before sharing it with some of the guys.
He then turned to see Delirious and Ohm talking quietly amongst one another, at the sight of him Delirious stood and waited as he approached, once in front of him he put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed gently in thanks.
“Thanks for holding me back there Del, the two of us brawling would’ve just made things worse” He heard a small chuckle come from Delirious who put his own hand on his shoulder before speaking.
“Yeah, well someone’s gotta watch out for your ass.” He was surprised to feel Delirious tug him closer but leaned down slightly when his friend leaned to whisper in his ear. “He’s quite the catch ain’t he” He looked up over Dels’ shoulder to where Ohm was sat, staring out at the Ocean.
“Del we’re not-“
“Sure, you’re not” He then heard that infamous chuckle come from his friend and internally groaned at the rumors that would be spreading around the camp. “Just be thankful I ain’t making fish jokes or anythin’…yet” His friend started laughing again before giving him a final pat on his shoulder and making his way back to the campfire.
He stood there contemplating every decision that had kept Delirious in his life before a soft voice singing brought him back to attention and he looked down, not even realizing the small smile that graced his face as he moved to sit down next to Ohm.
“It’s a beautiful song, what’s it about?”
“It’s about a merman who was forced to wed a human to keep the peace between our people, and it lasted for many years until one morning the human woke up and realized she was in bed with a monster. In her hysteria, she stabbed the merman to death and then their children before finally killing herself to amend for the crimes she committed against her race. After that there was a war between the species, it was long and relentless, but the mermen didn’t have the numbers to keep fighting lest they face extinction, so they hid in the darkest depths of the ocean and that’s where they remain, too few to carry on the fight.”
“Alright not such a beautiful song then” He heard Ohm huff a laugh beside him, the both of them staring out at the horizon in front of them
“Nobody lives who remembers it, for all I know it’s a cautionary tale meant to scare young merman from venturing too close to the surface”
“Didn’t stop you” This time Ohm chuckled, and he turned his head to peek a glance at Ohm only to be met with hazel eyes staring back at him.
“What’s life without a bit of adventure though” He hummed in response, despite the intensity in Ohms gaze he couldn’t look away. “I’ve always admired you pirates, traveling across the world whenever you want, doing whatever you want. It’s just always seemed so free”
He sarcastically laughed before he turned back out towards the sea “It ain’t as glamorous as you make out”
“Well I know that now”
“How did you get to be in a pirate Captains cabin by the way”
He heard Ohm heave a sigh beside and he thought that he wouldn’t get an answer, but just as that thought crossed his mind Ohm started to speak. “I’ve been ‘captured’ for years, he just paid the highest price for me”
“I saw you jump out that tank yesterday like you were gettin’ out of bed, why didn’t you ever escape”
“I was scared” He could hear the vulnerability in Ohms’ voice, despite his human nature he was surprised that the merman could have such deep feelings. “I’ve been hunted down my entire life and being in that tank, I felt…safe. It was only a matter of time before they caught up to me”
“Why are they after you?”
“Power, not just ruling over the merman but actual physical power only bestowed amongst royalty. Whoever kills me becomes king and the power passes to them. With it, they could cause destruction not only in the oceans but on land as well”
“So, you killed the last king?”
“I did what I had to do, I don’t see the need to hold this petty hatred for humans like my kin has, without me your kind would have been destroyed long ago”
“Thank you”
As he said that Ohms' head darted to look at him, and in the darkness, he swears he can see tears forming in the merman’s eyes. “You’re the first person to say thank you to me you know?”
He didn’t have an answer for Ohm, instead he rubbed his hand gently up and down the merman’s thigh beside him as he stared back out at the horizon and that’s how he fell asleep, putting up no protest when he felt Ohm manhandle him until his head was in his lap and he felt fingers once again brushing through his hair.
“Goodnight Luke”
*********************************************************************
He woke up just before the sun rose, the rest of the crew were littered across the beach, some had fallen asleep by the fire and others under the cover of trees whilst some had taken to curling up on the sand halfway between the two.
He felt the burning in the back of his throat that demanded water he didn’t have, the oncoming’s of a headache making itself known, quietly hoping that they’d find some form of water otherwise tensions will only grow higher between the group of them.
He gently got up off of Ohm in an effort not to wake him before making his way towards the trees to start the search for water.
He walked around for hours, every now and then he’d knick a tree with his knife so he wouldn’t retrace his steps but as of yet, there was no luck. There was now a pounding in his head and the heat from the sun did little to alleviate it.
Just after noon he made his way back to the camp and was surprised to see everybody stood and surrounding Ohm, even from far away he could hear their shouts.
“What the fuck is goin’ on here?” His voice sounded across the beach and the voices were quick to settle down, they were quick to break away from Ohm as he approached, guilty looks on their faces.
“Cartoonz, please tell your friends I didn’t carry into the Ocean and consume you”
“The fuck?” Everybody turned to look towards Craig, Evan and Delirious, their faces red with embarrassment as they refused to look at anyone.
“What, it was a possibility” He barely heard Craig’s murmur and only rolled his eyes when he did before he turned back to everyone else.
“So, what I leave camp for a few hours and you’re having a witch hunt against Ohm? I thought we were past this guys”
“You were gone for ages, we had no idea where you were” Delirious spoke out and he felt a flare of guilt rise up in him.
“I was looking for some water, didn’t find any” Most of them let out a groan whilst others let out a curse.
It was then that Ohm stormed off towards the Sea, he heard some of them mumble about how he was abandoning them to their fate, he couldn’t help but feel his own flare of rejection at the sight of Ohm walking away but was quick to run after him.
He was quick to catch up with Ohm, the merman slowly wading through the water allowing him time to grab his arm to stop him.
“Ohm, what’re doing? Where are you going?”
“I ain’t going anywhere, I’m just saving your dumbasses again” He cast a brief smile towards him before pulling his arm out of his hold and walking out just a bit further until the water reached his waist.
He walked out to join him, intrigued at what the merman could possibly do to save them at this moment. First Ohm raised his arms up towards the sky before taking a deep breath and closing his eyes. The merman was stood like that for a while, and he was wondering whether whatever he was doing was actually working until he saw Ohm start to shake and sweat where he stood.
Just then a clap of lightning sounded, and he quickly looked up and towards the horizon to see a series of dark storm clouds heading directly towards them. He could make out the lightning in the dark clouds, the sound between each set of thunder getting shorter and shorter, his trance at the storm heading towards them was only broken when he heard a pained groan beside him.
Turning to look at the merman, he was shocked at what he saw, he looked deathly white and visibly shaking that he looked on the point of collapse.
“Ohm, you can stop now, the storms almost here” Still there was no response, and he was quick to catch the merman who suddenly collapsed, but still Ohm didn’t relent from his task. “Ohm, stop it now, you’ve done enough” Ohm let out a pained shout, he was finding it ever more difficult to keep the almost convulsing man from collapsing “Ohm stop this shit right now or so help me I’ll fuck you up even more”
Just as the storm clouds started to pass over them Ohm fell limp in his hold, he was quick to lift him up and over his shoulder, making his way as fast as he could towards shore as cold, heavy rain started to fall over them.
When he got to shore he stopped briefly to allow Craig to determine whether Ohm was still alive and upon hearing he was he quickly headed up to the treeline to lay Ohm down under some form of shelter.
“You said you’d fuck me?” He let out the breath he’d been holding at the sound of Ohms’ voice but couldn’t help the chuckle that came with the statement.
“You outdid yourself this time Ohm” He felt Ohm once again fall limp in his arms and he felt panic surge through him “Ohm?” He shook him a little but still got no response “Ohm you better not fucking die” Again he shook Ohm and again there was no response “OHM!”
He ignored the circle his friends had created around the two of them, too intent on trying to get some sign of life from the creature in front of him.
“Wha?” The whispered word from the man in front of him almost reduced him to tears as he leaned down to rest his head on Ohms' shoulder, feeling the life under him. “I bust my ass to get this rain for you to drink…and you ain’t even drinking it. Go, 'm fine” He looked up to see Ohm give him a reassuring smile before trying with his weakened strength to shoo him away.
He cast one final look to Ohm who had settled himself into a more comfortable position to rest in before he turned to his friends “Well you heard him, drink up”
It was almost comical the way they stood in the rain, mouths open to try and catch as much as possible until eventually they got bored and started to cup their hands before drinking as much water as they could stomach. Even when they were full and on the verge of throwing up at how much they’d drank, they drank more and more until eventually, the rain stopped and even then they lay on the beach, too sluggish to make a move.
It was to all their surprise then that they saw Ohm stumble his way past them, he practically launched himself to his feet in order to intercept him, narrowly avoiding throwing up as he did so.
“Ohm, what the fuck are you doing, you need to rest”
“m’gonna save you guys”
“You already did, please Ohm, come back with me” He tried to plead with the merman, to physically block him but even in his tired state the merman still managed to slip by him until he was in the water.
“That waters gonna last you a couple of days and I don’t have the energy to do that again. Please, let me do this”
He’s now standing in front of Ohm, hands on his shoulders as he tries to plead with him to stay “Other mermen are still out there, they’ll kill you, I can’t-“
“You can think of them Luke, this is what’s best” He felt tears burn at his eyes and it’s almost like a vice in his chest, he knows that this is the only way for them to survive but it didn’t make it any easier.
“Can’t Tiny come and get you? He seems to handle things pretty well” Ohm’s answering smile did little to comfort him.
“He’s far too big to get anywhere close, and he’ll be followed, I’d be dead before I even got close to him”
“Ohm” There was so much he wanted to say and yet he didn’t know where to even begin.
“I’ll be back, I promise, you still owe me dinner” He huffed a laugh even as his tears began to fall down his face, closing his eyes when he felt Ohms' hands come up to caress his face. He felt the gentlest caress of lips against his own, so gentle it could almost be mistaken for a brush of wind. “Farewell Luke”
He opened his eyes as he felt Ohms’ hands leave his face, watching the merman dive below the water’s surface, his legs having turned back into a tail and he stayed there long after Ohms’ shadow had gone beyond his sight.
“He’ll be alright” Delirious’s voice startled him and he turned to see his friend beside him before his friend offered him a comforting pat, which turned into a hug. Normally not one for affection he craved it now at this moment as his whole being filled with dread at the thought of what could happen to Ohm on his journey.
With a final pat on his back Delirious let him go, offering him a final smile before heading back to land, he cast one last look on the horizon, praying to whatever God was listening to watch out for Ohm before he headed back to wait out his fate on the beach.
***********************************************************************
It’s four days until there’s any sign of life, besides them, near the island. Having finished the fish that Ohm had caught them two days ago they were not just hungry but were thirsty as well, having not drunk anything since the storm before Ohm left.
The didn’t notice it at first, the heat coupled with fatigue meant that they paid little attention to much else besides their own needs, but it was Mark that called out the ship first, frantically pointing to somewhere on the horizon until they too saw it.
It then became a mad dash of people, him and Tyler were busy trying to get a fire going, whilst everyone bar Mark and Evan who kept watch of the ship, went to retrieve leaves and twigs that would easily cause smoke when lit.
In their urgency it took them longer than normal to get the fire started, hands slipping and dropping wood before a fire could start when it should be second nature to them. Luckily it appeared that the ship was heading towards their direction, regardless the fire would make a good weapon should the people that came with it be hostile.
Once the fire was finally lit they quickly piled the dead brush on top, willing to suffer through the smoke in favor of watching it climb ever higher signaling their presence. It felt like hours before the ship seemed to be in any vicinity close to them, but there they stood eagerly waiting and watching it approach them.
When they deemed it close enough they started shouting, expecting to see members of the crew peer over to look at them, but no such thing happened. When there was no answering shout or sign of life on the ship he got an impending sense of dread.
He called everyone to arms, their swords were out only seconds later as they watched the ship lay down its anchor and slowly come to a stop just off of the shore.
“Friend or Foe?” He shouted, adrenaline surging through him and ready to unleash at a moment’s notice.
“Here I thought we were friends Toonzy” He stood there stunned as he saw Ohm standing up on the bow of the ship, even at this distance he could see the bright smile on his face.
“Ohm?”
“The one and only” His friends seemed just as shocked as he did, all still in fighting stances but with mouths agape at the scene in front of them. “Are you gonna come aboard or just stand there gaping like fish?”
It was then a mad dash towards the ship, all of them eager to get off of the island and onto some semblance of normal. He was the first to climb the ladder up onto the top deck, as soon as his feet landed on the wood he raced over to Ohm before wrapping him up in a tight hug.
“Told you I’d be back didn’t I?”
“Don’t you fuckin’ do that to me again you hear?”
“Eh…I suppose-“ Before Ohm could finish his sentence, clearly meant to taunt him, he leaned forward and pressed their lips together, made better when he felt Ohm kissing him back.
“Ugh, seriously guys. It hasn’t even been five minutes.” Delirious’s voice caused them to break apart and turn to look at him. “Keep your gross kissing to yourself, we don’t need to see that shit”
Ignoring him completely they turned back to each and once more pressed their lips together, he couldn’t care less what Del or any of his other friends thought about his relationship with Ohm, hell he didn’t even have an explanation for it, just knew there was nothing he wanted more than to keep the merman in his arms.
“Tyler, can you come sort them out, they’re bein’ disgustin’” He saw Tyler's head peer over the side of the ship as he reached the top of the ladder before climbing over the edge.
Tyler gave one look at them before shrugging his shoulders and turning to get a better look around the ship “Just remember we got kids on board”. At Tylers’ words, they pulled away, taking one last look at one another before he turned to look at the ship, wrapping an arm around Ohms’ waist.
“Where the hell you’d get this?”
“The Oceans a big place and I could have only the best for Captain Toonzy”
He snorted at the nickname but was also trying to play off the thrill that the title of Captain gave him.
“The crew?”
“On a ship somewhere” He turned to look at Ohm, shocked look on his face whilst the other man just laughed and gave a shrug “Tiny will watch over them”
He frowned at that statement, giving a final squeeze around Ohms’ side before heading back to the ladder and helping everyone else up onto the ship. Tylers’ shout of water had them all quickly heading below deck to get their fill before finally making a move to leave.
With Ohms’ help forming a little wind, they were quick to set off, feeling lighter with every mile they put between them and the Island that had almost become a graveyard.
That night they celebrated, they had the luxury of perishable food which they were quick to gorge on, he had Ohm by his side and by the way said mans hand was currently climbing higher and higher up his leg under the table, he wouldn’t be leaving for a while.
The next morning when everyone had some semblance of being themselves again he gave them the option of staying with him or offering them the chance to leave at the nearest port. He was surprised to hear them all choose to stay with him, that Wildcat had voiced his choice even before Delirious could.
********************************************************************
From then on their crew became one of the most notorious group of pirates on the seas, any who went against them didn’t tend to last long, rumors were quick to spread about threats in the water that followed their ship and would attack any who opposed them. Not that anybody survived long enough to be able to report the truth.
Most of the time Ohm was happy to travel with them, he enjoyed the company, and everyone had now accepted him as part of the crew. If he had it his way Ohm would be spending almost all of his time on the ship however the merman would always state that he still had duties to fulfill below the surface and for him to stop sounding like a pining woman.
When they were particularly unlucky they’d run into a group of merman eager to hunt Ohm down, whenever this happened he’d get his crew to bear arms, most of them with bows and arrows along the sides of the ship waiting for Ohm to bait the creatures up closer to the surface so that they could take their shot.
Normally him, Tyler, Brian, and Delirious would descend into the water in an attempt to help Ohm, whilst still not as fast as the creatures they were hunting, they were much improved from their first encounter with them. They’d even managed to save Ohm a few times when he was in a particularly tight spot, the creatures too focused on their goal meant that they were easily ignored, making it that much easier to sneak up behind one of them whilst they wrestled against Ohm to put a sword through their chest.
The last Captain he’d sailed under had been a disgraceful example of a human but as he stood at the bow of his ship, leaning forward into Ohms back as he let the wind whip at his face, he sent a quick thanks to him, for without him he never would have formed his crew, nor he never would have met Ohm.
He pressed Ohm closer against him, the merman happy to keep as much contact between them as possible whilst they watched the sun sink slowly behind the sea, content to stay there in each other’s arms until the moon was high in the sky.
BBS Au: Silence
I wrote this for fun! I don't know if it'll be a story. But it was fun to make! Hope you guys enjoy and take this as a way of me saying " Sorry for not writing anything!!! Oh my gosh I'm really sorry!!"
---
The shifting of cans echoed through the almost vacant grocery store. A foot tapped impatiently on the dirty tile floor while and undecided hum occupancies it. One can was placed back on the self while another was taken. Which one? Which one--
“ Evan would you fuckin’ hurry up and decided already!” Brian cried out making his partner jump in surprised. Both cans ended up clattering on the floor, rolling away from the two.
“ Jesus Brian! I'm making an important decision over here!” Evan shot back with a huge grin on his face,” It's a matter of life and death,” He said dramatically turning back towards the canned goods, “ What are we having for dinner tonight?”
“ Yer gonna think life or death when I make you carry everythin back home.” Brian muttered under his breath as he pinched the bridge of his nose,” It's gettin late. Just take both and let's get the hell out of here.” Brian swore Evan looked like a kid being told he could have two candies. His partner quickly stuffed both cans into his already oversized bag before hosting it onto his back.Brian held out his hand which Evan quickly took and they quickly left the grocery store.
The streets were barren as they always were. Not a single living soul in sight. To Brian that was a good things, more people only meant trouble and when he has things to protect there was no time for trouble. He held Evan's hand tighter tugging him a bit closer. Evan respond by giving his a reassuring squeeze.
He watched their surroundings like a hawk as they made their way home. No sound, no movement, everything as if it was frozen in time. It's been that was for quite some time now. He still remembered the day the world stopped. Two greater powers at each other's throats and they were all stuck in the middle. The bombs had dropped around midnight, Brian had been woken up by his mother, frantically screaming at him to rush to shelter. They had planned for this day but Brian never thought it would come. His father had built a bomb shelter in their backyard, “ Just Incase”. Unfortunately it was barely big enough to fit one person.
His parents made a sacrifice and Brian had been left alone to face this new world. He had stayed in that shelter for what felt like weeks until hunger won out. When he resurfaced the world he knew was gone. Once lively homes replaced by silence.
“ Brian?” Evan's voice tore him from his thoughts. He looked down to see a bright smile,” We're almost home. You think Brock's gonna make that kick-ass beef stew?”
Evan could always tell when Brian was thinking to much. He would try to get his mind on other things or say things to make him laugh. Brian couldn't help but smile back, “ I sure hope so! But if Tyler eats the whole pot again I'm killin ‘em! Fuckin Pig.” He huffed making Evan laugh.
It wasn't long before they reached what once was a richer part of town. Large abandoned houses stood still before them. They turned towards the set of woods just by the houses. Brain glanced around before walking towards them. Their home wasn't easy to find if you didn't know what you were looking for. They carefully moved through the brush until they were surrounded by trees stopping at a large rusty hatch on the ground nearly hidden by the shrubs around it. Brian and his group of friends had found this place a couple years back. Some rich snob was yelling about how he couldn't live in such conditions. Demanding to be brought to a place more suited for his class.
The dumbass didn't know what he left behind. It was a pretty fancy bond shelter. Three bedrooms with beds and dressers, a living area with a flat screen TV, a small kitchenette with a working fridge, and even a running shower and bathroom. Everything ran a large generator and boiler under the shelter. It was the perfect place to call home even if it was a bit cramped.
Brian pulled opened the hatch and helped Evan climb down before climbing down himself. By the time he closed and locked the hatch Evan had already kicked off his shoes and rushed towards the kitchen.
“ We're home!” He announced slinging his backpack onto the marble counter. Brian walked into the kitchen the smell of beef hitting his nose. He sighed contently as he placed his bag on the counter.
“ Glad you guys made it back.” Brock smiled from his place at the stove. He placed a top on the pot and walked over to them,” I see you got a lot today.” He said inspecting the cans, “ Thank you this will last us for awhile.”
“ We found a new place over by the school.” Evan said as he helped put food away,” It hasn't been raised yet so we took what we could carry.”
“ The school? That's pretty far.” Brock narrowed his eyes at Brian who quickly shrugged.
“ We're runnin’ out of food at our old grocery store. Don't worry I'll look for another place closer.” He reassured, “ Where is everyone anyway? I thought we all agreed to be home by six?” The place was too quiet for Brian's liking.
“ Ohm took Tyler and Cartoonz so they can go check the traps. That rat problem isn't getting any better….” Brock said turning back to the stew, “ Marcel is in the shower. Nogla and Jiggly are out trying to find more soap and clothes. I'm sure they'll be back soon.”
Brian sighed and looked at the time on his watch. It was a quarter past six, they all should have been home by now. He tapped his foot impatiently and stole a few glances at the hatch. Maybe he should go look for them. He was about to do just that when a pair of arms wrapped around him.
Brian looked down at see Evan smiling up at him. Somehow that smile always made his worries wash away. He wrapped his arms around Evan and took a deep breath.
“ I'm sure they'll be back soon. Tyler always likes to check the traps twice, Jiggly and Nogla have Marcel's map do they won't get lost.” Just liked that everything was okay again. He squeezed Evan tighter resting his chin on top of his head. He tried to ignore the smug look on Brock's face he saw out of the corner of his eye.
“ Can we tone the PDA down a bit!” Tyler voice rang out causing them to jump. They looked over at the hatch to see the three climbing down. Ohm having a few rabbits strung on his hip. Nogla and Jiggly weren't far behind them, closing the hatch and securing the lock.
Soon the silence was filled with laughter and conversation. Marcel came out of the shower yelling at everyone to shut the hell up. Evan had left his side to tease Marcel on how he took a shower with no soap. The whole room erupted in laughter and yelling. Brian smiled as he leaned against the counter happy that the silence was finally gone.
Hnnnnnn, how about Wildcat, panda, ohm, vanoss, & a bunch of the other boys stranded in the wilderness aka they decided on a camping road trip but the RV went up in smoke & now they're stuck actually camping now??
Here we go…
“I told you it was a stupid idea, Evan,” Tyler’s voice was reprimanding and strict, yet also held a tone of playful teasing.
“I didn’t know what you meant about that weird clicking sound,” the stressed Canadian was no engineer, staring at the smoking engine with a confused and annoyed glare.
Anthony stepped out with a sigh, “It’s not an active road we’re on, should we spread out in search of help?”
Tyler shrugged, glaring at him only slightly with annoyance, “I don’t know! they don’t teach you this shit in school.”
Craig and Jonathan stepped off next, Smitty and Scotty in tow.
“What the fuck’s takin’ so long,” Craig complained, eyeing the smoke that spread out and dissipated in the sky.
“It’s gonna be dark soon,” Scotty complained as well.
“We’re fixing it! Just go back inside and chill,” Evan persisted.
Brock stepped out, “I’m gonna go search for a highway or something…”
Scotty and Jonathan hopped with, “We’ll come with, it’ll be faster.”
“You guys are going out there, where there could be wolves and shit? When it’s so dark,” Tyler crossed his arms with a knowing look.
Scotty cleared his throat nervously, voice cracking slightly, “Yeah, we kinda have to.”
“If you haven’t noticed, we’re stranded,” Jon added on.
Evan nodded, “Don’t be gone too long, please. And be safe.”
Jonathan smiled, “Not a child, Ev.”
“i know… but still.”
Jon snorted and laughed, blue eyes turning away as they continued along the road.
Smitty humphed, leaning against the side of the RV.
Tyler snorted, “Bored?”
“John’s asleep,” Smit said, matter of factly, “So yeah, pretty much.”
“Come read the manual to us,” Tyler insisted.
Smitty groaned, “That takes work and I’m lazy,” he started towards the woods, “Gotta take a piss anyway.”
“Don’t let the wolves bite your dick off,” Tyler laughed, earning a few light hearted chuckles from Evan.
Smitty disappeared into the dark tree line, not going too far so he wouldn’t get lost.
Tyler almost lost it when he heard the zipper as if he were still right beside him.
Ryan yawned as he stepped out, heading towards the front of the RV.
“Good morning, Ohmie. Wanna help us?”
Ryan hummed in thought, “I mean, I don’t know much about engines but I can try. Anything to get us moving along faster.”
As he settled next to Ev, the engine sparked and stuttered to life for a split second before powering off again.
Evan made a sound of distress, “Um, guys?”
The engine sparked again, a fire starting but being put out quite fast by Tyler.
He threw his bottled water all over it, putting it out within seconds.
“That’s not good,” Ryan commented, “We need to get everything out. That could have roasted the gas line.”
“Fuck,” Tyler swore, rushing inside and waking up John.
“Huh? What?”
“We have to get all our stuff out of here, wake the fuck up.”
John hopped to it, groggily stumbling around and grabbing his and Smitty’s stuff first.
Pretty soon, they’d gotten mostly everything out, Evan hopping in to help while Ryan watched the engine.
Smitty stepped from the woods with a grunt, his face beholding terror as he rushed from whatever he was scared by, nervously laughing it off when Tyler gave him a questionable stare.
“A bird scared me…”
“Pussy,” Tyler huffed, “Come get some shit out of here, RV’s fucked so we’re gonna have to camp on this stupid dirt road.”
Smitty grunted, “Really? After we rented that mountain view for a whole week?”
“Are you an engineer?”
“No,” Smitty sighed, heading in to grab some stuff.
Before long, they had everything out and had set up the five tents they’d brought.
The blue tent was against the tree line, green tent closest to the road.
The largest tent, a nice tan color, was set in the middle.
A nice campfire, built by Smit and John, was set in front of the tents and not too close.
Evan and Tyler troubled to set up the fourth tent, a dark black one with neon lights inside it’s material.
The fifth was set against the Rv, a nice calming purple tent.
David and Lui soon joined them to help, Ryan still watching the engine.
Brock came rushing down the road with a huff, Jonathan and Scotty breathless behind him.
Tyler jumped to them first, “Did you find anyone?”
Brock shook his head and glanced at the tents, “We’re staying here?”
Tyler nodded, Evan rounding up to meet Jon and Brock, Scotty slowly walking his way behind them.
“We walked so far…”
“There’s no one for a couple of miles, we’re in the middle of nowhere,” Jonathan rushed to explain.
Evan let out a giggle, “We’re camping here, at least until tomorrow when the road should be more active.”
“Yeah,” Smitty grinned, “The fucking Gay baby gang is supposed to be coming tomorrow, too.”
“If they get stranded with us,” Tyler groaned.
“I’ll officially kill them.”
Innokin vs Aspire Vape Mod Kits in the UK: Which One Should I Choose?
Innokin vs Aspire
If you’re reading this blog right now, you’ve probably already heard of Aspire and their great vape mod kits. In fact, you probably landed here because you’re trying to decide what aspire vape kit (UK) to get. Or perhaps you’re stuck trying to choose between Aspire and another vape legend, Innokin. Either way, we can help you out. Here at Vapourz Lounge, we have a wide range of products. You can buy cheap vape kits, e-liquids, and other vape accessories in our online shop. If you’re trying to figure out which Aspire vape to choose, this blog is for you. We’ll even get into the basics of Innokin vs Aspire if you’re stuck between the two. Read on to learn more.
Aspire: Who Are They?
Aspire is a well-known Chinese vape brand. They were one of the pioneers of the vape industry since they started around the time vaping started picking up (2013). They’re nothing short of trailblazers when it comes to vape mod kits. When it comes to Aspire vape kits in the UK, you can expect innovation and user-friendliness. Their vape kits are usually ideal for any type of vaper, and their range of products caters to all crowds. When we say they’re trailblazers in the industry, we’re really not exaggerating. Did you know that their Nautilus and BVC (Bottom Vertical Coils) were one of the reasons adjustable airflow is a thing? It’s no wonder they’re such a popular choice among vapers everywhere.
What Aspire Vape Kit (UK) Should I Get?
Although they’re one of the most popular brands, like all companies, they have both wins and losses. While they may have successes like the Pockex, they also have vape mod kits like the Rover 2. The latter isn’t terrible, but it only caters to a very specific niche of vapers. This is why it’s important to know the specifics of the vape mod kit you’re getting. One of our personal favourites is the Aspire Cobble Kit. The reason we love the Aspire Cobble kit is because it’s a great fit for pretty much anyone. Whether you’re new to vaping or are a veteran vaper, this vape mod kit is a great option. It’s not just user-friendly, it’s pocket friendly too! So if you want to buy cheap vape kits, the Aspire Cobble kit is ideal for you. That’s our current take on the best aspire vape kit in the UK. We’re sure it’ll change over time, as Aspire comes out with newer, more innovative products!
Innokin vs. Aspire Vape Kits (UK)
Innokin and Aspire are both high-street brands with brilliant products for every type of vaper out there. It can be extremely hard to choose the right vape mod kit when there are so many great options out there. If you came to this blog because you’re stuck between Innokin and Aspire vape kits in the UK, here’s our two cents on it! We’ll compare the two based on pens, pods, mods, and tanks. Maybe this will help you make pick out the right one for you.
– Tanks:
Here at Vapourz Lounge, we unanimously agree that Innokin are legends when it comes to MTL tanks. This makes Innokin the best option for people who are vaping to stop smoking tobacco. Their MTL tanks give you a real cigarette-like draw, as well as the characteristic throat hit. Our in-house favourite is the Zenith tank. On the other hand, Aspire have some amazing sub-ohm tanks if that’s more up your alley. We particularly like the Odan Evo and Cleito Pro for DTL vaping. That isn’t to say they don’t have good options for MTL vapers. If you choose to stick with Aspire for MTL tanks, we suggest the K1, K2 and K3 tanks.
– Pods:
Aspire have a wider range of pods and pod mods compared to Innokin. Some great ones are the AVP Pro, Mulus, and Breeze NXT. We also like the Breeze. The Breeze 2, however, wasn’t a great follow-up. Though Aspire have more options, Innokin have promising products too. Their latest pod mod is great, offering a sleek design with an adjustable airflow. It also allows you to choose between MTL and restricted DL, and has a strong 1400mAh battery to keep it running. Personally, we place Aspire’s Breeze NXT on a pedestal.
– Mods:
If you’re someone that’s looking for a good, user-friendly, sub-ohm mod, then Aspire is the way to go! If a simple but effective MTL mod is what you’re after, Innokin comes first. Innokin is a brand we think is ideal for starters. They have options for more advanced vapers, but their products are usually better suited for beginners. Aspire, on the other hand, have a wide range of options for both advanced and starter vape mods. For something more complex, we’d recommend the Deco, which is perfect for sub-ohm vaping and comes with an external battery kit. For something more beginner-level, the K-lite and Zelos 2 are great options.
– Pens:
A great way to see which vape pen is best is by comparing their sales. The Aspire Pockex has sold amazingly over the years. Innokin’s Jem Pen and Endura series are also great starter kits. Both of the former pens have an MTL draw and are great for high PG vape juices, nic salts, and CBD too. The only thing that makes these pens (arguably) better than Aspire’s Pockex is their larger battery life.
Conclusion
Now you know which aspire vape kit in the UK is our in-house favourite. You’ve also seen a good comparison of Innokin vs Aspire Vape Mod Kits (UK). We hope this information has helped you gain inishgt into which vape mod kit is right for you. No matter what you choose, we have the right product for you. So, if you’ve made a decision, or just want to browse through more options and buy cheap vape kits, our online shop is perfect for you. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!
Our gift to the world - Episode 4
Summary: Episode codas of an established Pang/Wave in The Gifted Graduation. Episode 4- This is set after part 1 of the episode when Pang asks Wave to look into the news students... but before all the rest of the episode happens basically.
Previous parts : Ep.1 / Ep.2 / Ep.3
Next parts : Ep.5 / Ep.6 / Ep. 7 / Ep. 8
Series on Ao3
Notes : Well this is super late, so my apologies ! But I wanted to get it out before watching the new episode, and before episode 5 can come and potentially crush all of my cute PangWave headcanons.
Also... will you believe me if I say this was initially supposed to be a light hearted/fun piece ? Yeah... I know. But because I’m apparently incapable of writing these boys any other way than having deep emotional talks, here it goes.
Wave walks into Pang’s dorm room, intent on convincing his boyfriend that hacking into WeTV in order to see the new season of a show that has yet to be released is actually not really all that illegal and not that big of a deal, only for him to stop as soon as he crosses the doorway.
The eyebrow he lifts in judgement towards Pang when he sees him sitting on the floor, surrounded by the books and documents scattered around him goes completely unnoticed by his boyfriend, who seems far too focussed on what he’s reading to pay any attention to what’s going on.
“Hmm… Hello ?” Wave asks, prompting Pang to finally look up at him and smile quickly in answer, before he looks back down on the sheet of paper in his hand.
Trying to discern what could have caught his boyfriend’s attention so fully, Wave walks closer and upon looking down, he recognizes the documents in Pang’s hands to be the information on their junior students’ gifts that he had asked him to look up earlier.
“Pang… what exactly is going on here ?” Wave asks, lifting his eyebrows once again when Pang finally looks up towards him.
“Check this out, I thought Time’s gift was one of the best ones. But this guy… he can actually extract the information that is in your head and he ca--” Pang starts explaining excitedly, before Wave cuts him off.
“Pang,” he says quietly, sitting down on the floor in front of his boyfriend, looking down at the years-old yearbooks that are spread around his boyfriend and contain all the information of past classes of Gifted students, as well as the sheets of paper from Wave’s research on the newest Gifted class.
“Listen Wave, I know that you don’t really care about the younger students,” Pang starts to say, and Wave only shrugs his shoulders in answer. It’s true, after all. “But I think it’s important to understand their gifts, and I want to know more.”
“I can see that, but why ?” Wave wonders, truly puzzled as to why his boyfriend is bent on finding out all of this information about past and future gifted students.
“It’s just… Don’t you find it strange ? That the school does everything they can to try and prevent us from interacting with each other ?” he asks, and Wave once again just shrugs his shoulders in answer.
He’s never really thought about it before, and it doesn’t particularly bother him either way. He’d never planned on getting close to any other Gifted Students apart from his friends and Pang, after all.
“Not really,” he finally replies softly, and Pang deflates at his answer.
“I think something fishy is going on, and I want to find out what it is,” Pang says determingly, when Wave keeps silently studying him with his eyes. “And I know you and Ohm don’t agree, but I hate the idea of all of our efforts going to waste now. Aren’t you curious ? If it wasn’t for us fighting against the school, none of us would have gotten as close as we are today, and doesn’t that thought sit wrong with you ?”
Wave can’t help but nod in answer to this, because it truly does.
He never imagined that he would meet this group of people and that he would actually make friends while in high school. But now that he has all of them in his life ? He has a hard time picturing a world where he would be without them, especially Pang.
“I guess I just worry,” Pang continues after a few seconds. “If the school doesn’t want Gifted students to interact and if they’re trying to keep us apart, what does that mean for all of us ? I know you all have better things to think about, what with college being right around the corner, but I just…”
Pang trails off in the middle of his sentence, and Wave frowns at his words.
Why is Pang suddenly talking about college ? Wave isn’t sure what yet, but he knows that something else is bothering Pang.
Even after everything that happened last week, even after they won, his boyfriend still seems afraid, and Wave hates that he has no idea what he actually fears, or how to ask him about it.
He doesn’t have Pang’s way with words, and he’s never been more frustrated at himself and his inability to communicate properly.
“Pang, do you really care that much about not knowing the other Gifted students ?” he asks after a few seconds, trying to understand.
“No, I guess not really. It’s just that… Now that all of this has been solved, what happens ? What do we do ?” he asks in a small voice, and Wave frowns deeper at the answer.
“We do exactly what you said earlier, we move on. We adapt to the new system, like you were telling me to do, and we move on with our lives.”
At the words, Pang’s breath catches in his throat and his head bows down. Wave tries to bend forward to catch his boyfriend’s eyes, but Pang evades him and Wave feels a tug in his heart at the thought that he’s hurt his boyfriend, without even knowing how he did it.
“Pang, what exactly is going on here ?” he questions quietly.
He’s starting to think that this has little to do with knowing their juniors and fellow gifted students, and everything to do with… them. And the thought truly scares him.
“It’s stupid,” Pang replies softly, and Wave moves a little closer to him before nodding his head, even if Pang can’t see him with his eyes still riveted on the floor.
“Maybe, but tell me anyway.”
“Ever since all of us met, we’ve always had this greater evil to beat, and this fight that we had to all take on together. It’s what allowed us to grow this close. Hell, it’s half of the reason why you and I got together,” Pang trails off and Wave waits him out, still not fully understanding what his boyfriend is trying to say.
“I know that all of us are going to evolve, and change. To move on. Punn has universities from all over the country that are already knocking on his door, Ohm is looking at a couple universities that offer entertainment degrees, Claire and Korn already know where they’re studying, and I know you have your eyes on a couple different universities with advanced engineering degrees….”
“That’s true,” Wave states.
He thinks he’s starting to understand what Pang is trying to tell him, but he waits him out, wanting his boyfriend to voice out all of his thoughts to be certain that he’s not misinterpreting or missing anything.
Talking has never been his strong suit, but if this is going in the direction he thinks it is, it’s never been more important for Wave to actually understand everything and say the right thing in return.
“Well I’m not like you Wave,” Pang continues self-deprecatingly. “We came together fighting the director and fighting for our rights, and that’s what I’m good at. If we don’t have to fight anymore, then what do I have left ? Take that away from me, and I just go back to being a stupid kid from class 8 that has little to no future.”
At the words, Wave feels his throat tighten and his heart drop to his stomach.
More used to being the one that needs reassurance in the relationship, Wave doesn’t quite know what to say to help his boyfriend. The only thing he does know right now, is that hearing Pang say those things about himself hurts.
He has to find the right words, no other option is imaginable.
“Pang,” his voice breaks on the word. “That’s not true. Thanks to you, that’s not true. You made sure that every student here has a fair chance at a future. So even if you weren’t a part of The Gifted class, which you are, this still wouldn’t be true. Your grades or class aren’t the sum of you, Pang. You’re so much more than that. And people, universities, will see that.”
At the words, Pang finally looks up at him and Wave sees a silent tear run down his boyfriend’s cheek, ripping Wave’s heart out on the way down.
“Maybe you’re right,” he pursues. “But even if that’s the case, then what happens to all of us ? If we don’t have anything to fight against, and if the school tries to keep us apart, then where does that leave us ?”
“Together,” Wave immediately answers with finality.
He sees the surprise draw itself on Pang’s face, and fondness towards his boyfriend swells within him.
God, Pang really has to be blind if he thought even for one second, that Wave would somehow leave him behind. Not when Pang is the best part of him in the first place.
“It’s true. We’ll all change and evolve,” Wave explains, hoping his boyfriend can read the sincerity in his words. “Every year, new computers come out and older models need to be updated to remain relevant, it’s the cycle of life.”
In spite of the heavy moment, Wave sees the amused and fond smile on Pang’s face, and he feels his cheeks heat up, realizing that he went back to using tech metaphors like he often tends to do when talking about greater ideas and subjects, which Pang teases him for every single time.
“Point is,” he continues, clearing his throat. “We’ll change and we’ll evolve, but I was kind of thinking we’d be doing all of that together.”
Quiet follows his statement, and the longer Pang remains silent, the more doubt starts to overtake Wave.
Had he read all of this wrong ?
Even after highschool, he never imagined for one second that he and Pang would part ways. Not after everything they’ve been through together, and not after how much happiness Pang has brought into his life since they got together, in spite of the circumstances.
But does Pang actually see things the same way ? Maybe Wave had been too hasty in his assumptions.
“You really mean that ?” Pang finally asks, his voice shaking, and Wave feels relief rush through him, the hope shining in his boyfriend’s eyes at the words erasing the doubts that were plaguing him a second ago.
Getting up on his knees from where he was still sitting cross legged on the floor, Wave crawls towards Pang, until he is close enough to cup his boyfriend’s cheeks in his hands.
“Of course stupid,” he reassures him. “I can’t speak for the others, although I doubt they would disagree. But Pang… you and I ? I kind of thought we were a package deal. And I’m not going anywhere, not without you.”
At the words, Pang drops his head down until it’s resting on Wave’s shoulder, all of the tension leaving his body at once.
He can’t remember a time in his life where he’s ever talked more than he just did and he honestly doesn’t know how everything that just came out of him made an ounce of sense.
But even though he can already feel shame crawling within him at everything he just said, Wave knows that Pang is worth it. Pang will always be worth it.
“A package deal, ok,” Pang finally replies from where his head is still resting against his boyfriend’s shoulder. “That sounds nice.”
Wave’s arms round his boyfriend’s frame, bringing him closer to him, in an intimate gesture that still feels somewhat foreign to him and yet feels so right at the same time.
“Is that what all of this research was really all about ?” he asks after a minute of them hugging each other, and he feels Pang nod his head against his shoulder.
“So stupid,” Wave says fondly, and Pang knocks one of his hands against his chest, prompting him to laugh at the gesture.
“For the record, I still think something fishy is going on, and that we should look into it,” Pang states when he lifts his head up from Wave’s shoulder.
Wave feels relief when he sees the tears have completely dried from his boyfriend’s eyes, and he recognizes that Pang seems more at ease than he has in days.
“Ok, we can look into it,” he replies, and Pang looks at him in surprise.
“You believe me ?”
“Of course. I trust your instinct, it’s proven time and time again to be correct in the past,” Wave declares.
Before he has the time to say anything else, Pang cups his cheeks and pulls him towards him, pressing a light kiss against his lips.
“Can that something fishy wait until tomorrow though ?” Wave whispers when their mouths part for a second, and he feels Pang smile against his lips.
“Why, what did you have in mind ?” his boyfriend asks teasingly.
“Well…” Wave trails off, before he reaches for his boyfriend and pulls him closer to him, deepening the kiss they were sharing a few seconds ago. Right now, there’s really nothing else he’d like to do except make out with his boyfriend for a little while.
WeTV can wait, really.
Tomorrow, they’ll have to dig deeper into Pang’s fear that something bigger is going on. Tomorrow, they’ll have to deal with college placement exams, finding a place to live, and all of the other issues that come with growing up, with evolving.
But for today, though ?
Today, they’ve just won a major battle against the director and the school. Today, he just wants to take a moment to be happy, and enjoy this moment of making out with his boyfriend like the teenagers they are.
And all the rest ? Well, the rest can wait.
When it’s time to deal with all of this, they’ll deal with it like they have everything else, together.
What’s the Use of Feeling Blue? [Robot OC Story]
Another cute story with my robot oc Omega and his scientist friend Jackson. This time with a lil bit of hurt comfort thrown in. Semi-sequel to Operational Management Employee Guide Android. Can also be read on my DA. Enjoy!
Jackson stormed into his co-workers offices with little regard for knocking. “What the FUCK did you do?”
The older man looked shocked at the intrusion before schooling himself and replying. “To what are you referring?”
Jackson shrugged exaggeratedly and looked around the room. “Pft, I don't know it might have something to do with the current latest generation synthroid currently curled up in the fetal position in the corner of my lab.”
The man hummed. “Ah, it seems the emotionally adverse knowledge transfer didn't go well. All the reports said he was fine when he left the procedure and all debriefing went normally.”
Jackson looked at the man in disbelief. “Duh! He hates to displease people! You wanted him to have no adverse effects and behave like the perfect little doll so that's what he pretended to be. These emotions you're so obsessed with him having are going to be just as complex, layered, and hideable as ours.” He grabbed his head and turned away before beginning to pace.
“I'll get the knowledge transfer teams to deal with him right-“ The man began before Jackson stopped him again.
“Oh no, they've done enough for now. Let him cool down a little before you try a whole new set of traumas on him.” His eyes spoke of determination..
The man in the glasses finally snapped. “I don't appreciate your tone Doctor Jackson. You may be the one who interacts closest with the Omega android but you are not the project head and cannot make calls such as that.”
“No one, is the project head Steven, its run by committee. And if I believe, in my scientific opinion, that a procedure is going to compromise the project I can put a hold on it for review. That is what I'm doing now. I'm telling you so you can stop it yourself without having to deal with all the paperwork that will happen if I actually send it through officially.” Jackson glowered at him.
The mans face reddened as his tone turned more venomous. “We all see how you interact the the project. He may be your shadow but he's not anything more. You’re letting personal feelings we don't know if it can even fully understand get in the way of your job. It was going to have to learn about negative events and emotions eventually.”
Jackson looked like he was about to strangle the man. “Yeah, but not every atrocity humankind had ever committed all at once! Is that how you found out about them? No, it was gradual. Bit by bit. Manageable.”
The man scoffed. “Its CPU could handle the data in record speed.”
Jackson pointed his fingers together. “But not the emotional speed.” He ran his hand through his curly hair. “Look, let's have a civilized conversation about this later when there's not an emotionally compromised android huddled under my desk. Until further notice I'm postponing all knowledge transfer procedures and please...Steve.” He rubbed his face. “If you want a machine with perfect emotional responses then it doesn't really have emotions. If you want a robot to have emotions, treat it like it has emotions.” Before the man could say anything else, Jackson turned and left.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He quickly returned to his office, thankfully hearing the oddly disjointed whining from under his desk. He knelt down slowly to look under it, knees protesting, to see the blue android twitching random servos and gripping onto the lab coat he had given the him.
“Hey Blue.” The robots eyes bore into him unreadable. “You feeling any better?” The robot shook his head smoothly as if carefully controlling all his actions. “Do you know anyway I can help?” The robot shook his head again. Jackson succumbed to the inevitable and crawled under the desk with the multi-billion dollar piece of sad machinery. “Want to talk about it?”
The robots throat moved, the sound of grinding gears pervading the silence. “Why? Why? Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why Why-“
Jackson gently put his hand over the robots mouth. “Sh, okay just relax, you'll just burn out something like that.” He took away his hand after the robot’s jaw clicked closed again. “The answer is...multifaceted. Individual groups of people do bad things for lots of reasons. Sometimes they don't like the people, sometimes it makes them happy even though it shouldn't, sometimes it’s for material possessions. It’s a case by case basis. Looking at it from such a big scope isn't going to do you any favors. It’s a forest through the trees scenario.”
Omega seemed to twitch again. “Tttttrees. When the trees move from Macbeth. Trees in memorial trees forest aokigahara world's oldest tree dis-s-s-s-t-“
“Shit, you coniptioned yourself into an overflow error.” He quickly grabbed the bots face before turning it sideways and locating the small switch behind the ear. “Sorry, I know you hate this.” He flicked the switch fast like pulling off a band aid and Omega’s eyes faded out before his limbs locked thankfully sparing Jackson a heavy robot falling on him. The ever present whirring stopped and the human was left in silence. He counted to ten before flicking the switch back on again. He heard the whirring begin anew. Several beeps and lights flickered over the robot before his limbs unlocked and he slumped slightly before catching himself.
He looked unfocused at Jackson before his optics adjusted. “...personal space.”
Jackson quickly let go of the robot. “Sorry.”
Omega came fully back to himself at seeing Jackson’s discomfort. “No, no, not for me. I just meant...you said you like personal space a while ago, so I was just...wondering why you were so close.” He shifted through the scrambled data from before the shut off and he slumped a little more, dropping the train of thought. “Oh.”
Jackson started again. “Do you remember? Are you feeling better, the same, or worse?”
Omega fidgeted and pulled the coat around him tighter. “Yeah, I remember. I feel...better. I still feel bad. Think bad. Might be like, when you say you feel better after a nap. Sleep on the problem.”
Jackson scratched the back of his neck. “Damn, wish I could power nap for ten seconds and be back up.”
There was a silence before Omega laughed slightly. “That was a joke right?” Jackson smiled and nodded. “Yay, good I recognized that one.” He smiled before his grin stalled again. “...I don't like this. Make it go away.”
Jackson reached out a hand but hesitated slightly before laying it on the robot back. “Do you want to do a rollback?”
“No. Have to deal with my problems like a person. People can't roll back so I shouldn't either.” Omega buried his face in his knees.
The humans shoulders sunk. “It's not a trick question, Ohm. We have the option so we can fix you if your feeling bad. Took a couple billion years for people to even act like people so cut yourself some slack. You’re based on a human but your not and that's okay. Humans are wonderful creatures but as you've just seen, humanity isn't always...good. Sometimes they are though...you just have to remember that.”
Omega turned his head and didn't look at him. “...feel weird after rollbacks. Everything's all scrambled and scratchy. Feels bad.” He tilted his head processing the last part of the sentence, turning his head back to look at the scientist. “Good? Like you?”
Jackson retracted his hand and looked away at the adoration and honesty on the androids face. “I...relatively I suppose. No one’s perfect. Everyone has flaws.”
Omega nodded. “Well, if it’s relative, then I think you’re, good so you are.”
Jackson blushed lightly even if he knew the android most likely didn't understand. Then again, he sometimes understood more than Jackson thought. He cleared his throat and pulled out his phone. “Thanks. Same. To you.” He seemed to fluff up under the praise. “Do you want to watch a paint mixing video?”
Omega tensed up. “I don't- think I want to do another data t-“
“No, not with data transfer. We’ll just watch it.” Jackson waved his hand as if to dispel the misconception.
The robot relaxed and nodded. “Yeah, I’d like that.”
And so Jackson sat crunched underneath a desk with an automaton that weighed twice what he did leaned up against his side, closer than most likely necessary, as they watched paint get mixed pleasantly. He reflected how he didn't mind it and wondered if the older scientist might have a point with his comment about emotional connection before he shook his head. If they wanted to give a robot emotions, they had to expect it to form connections and relationships with others. It was inevitable.
