“Baby?” You hear Nanami’s voice from the kitchen, you lean back in your chair, spying down the hallway. When you spot him a smile spreads over your face.
“Hi honey, you’re home early.” You say, pushing to your feet as you make your way towards him. He’s standing near the island in the middle of the kitchen, hand outstretched towards the bouquet of flowers you’d set there. “Thank you for the flowers by the way… what was the occasion?” You ask, outstretching your arms to give him a hug. Nanami pulls you into him, kissing the top of your head.
“I didn’t send you these cheap flowers, honey.” He intones against the top of your head. You pull back, slightly surprised.
“Hmm?”
“I know your favorite flowers. Those are practically weeds.” You laugh softly at his words, he’s still holding you gently.  He’s serious as he looks at the bundle of flowers with scrutiny.
“So I have a secret admirer?” You ask as Nanami’s gaze sharpened.
“It seems. But they don’t know you very well. Pity.”
“You’re a flower snob.” You tease as Nanami tightens his hold around your hips.
“I just know my girl.” He kisses your cheek first, then your jaw and neck, he trails up to your lips, pausing before they meet. “And my girl deserves only the best quality flowers.” You scoff out a laugh and he shuts you up with a kiss.
~
You flicked the card from the flowers, your coworkers gushing beside you as you blushed embarrassed.
“Wow… he really went all out.” Your coworker beamed, leaning to smell the bouquet. You turned in your chair, popping open the card.
You shine through my darkest days... Signed, your future.
The card was sappy but the flowers were a nice thought. Satoru liked to embarrass you sometimes and even though you weren’t really a flower kind of girl you still appreciated him thinking of you. The elevator to your floor dinged and your coworker giggled, nudging you.
“Here’s Mr. Romantic.” She teased as you turned and spotted him. He smirked at you, giving you a little wave. You gathered up your stuff as he met you halfway, taking your purse and lunch bag. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head as you two walked to the elevator.
“Someone got you flowers?” He asked as you blushed, rolling your eyes.
“Uh huh, someone…” you teased back. “My future apparently.” You said as you two stepped onto the elevator.
“Your future?” Gojo echoed.
“Who apparently shines through your darkest days?” You and Satoru met eyes before he reached out and plucked the card from the flowers. He looked over it for a second.
“So my girl had a secret admirer?” He says, pocketing the card.
“Oh? They’re not from you?”
“I know you don’t like flowers, baby.” He says as the door slides open and you two walk out. He was right, you were more of a sweets person. “You know for someone who’s your future they don’t know you very well.” He teases as you laugh. He holds out his hand for the flowers as you hand them off. He presents them to an older lady walking by who blushes and thanks him.
“You pawned off my pretty flowers.” You teased as he took your hand.
“Thanks because you need arm space for all the shit I’m about to buy you.” He winks, pressing a kiss to your cheek, pulling you towards the city.
~
You huffed coming through the door, arms full of at least fifty roses. You struggled until an arm jutted out, pushing your front door open for you.
“You’re home early, baby.” Toji’s voice intoned, deep and smooth from just waking up.
“There was a mix up with the shifts at work so I got to leave.” You say, watching Toji’s eyes stick to the roses in your arms. “This was sweet of you by the way. I didn’t get to read the card yet.”
“Don’t bother.” He said, eyes sharpening. “I didn’t send these.”
“Oh?” You hum, setting the bundles of roses on the table as Toji plucks out the card, tearing it open. He reads it over and hikes up a brow.
“This is some corny shit, baby.” He laughs, handing over the card for you to read.
Roses are red, violets are blue, the best part of my day is you.
You audibly laughed.
“Yeah if I had read the card I would’ve known you didn’t send these.”
“These are expensive,” Toji says, plucking one of the petals from a rose. “Looks like some rich bastard has his eye on my girl.” There’s a glint in his eyes that had your stomach bottoming out.
“How inconvenient.” You tease as Toji pushes the roses right off the table into the trash. Your lips part in surprise.
“We can’t just-“ he’s swift with his movements, pulling you into him, large hands on your waist as he turns you to face him, bodies pushed together.
“I’ll kill him.”
“It’s just roses.” You smirk as he sharpens his eyes.
“You want some roses, I'll buy you thousands, not some schmuck from work.”
“Toji… are you jealous?”
“Hush.” He whispers against your lips before kissing them.
~
“Morning, you sleep well?” You push inside the front door, struggling between the bags and the flowers. Hakari glances up from his phone and sets it down on the coffee table. It was evident from the lingering scent of coffee and his disheveled appearance that he had just gotten up.
"Yeah, like a corpse," he replies, helping you with some of the bags. "What's with the flowers?"
“Oh?” You glance at the flowers. “I thought you sent them to me?”Hakari raised an eyebrow momentarily, taking a close look at the bouquet.
"Not from me, babe. You sure they ain't from some secret admirer?" He teases with a lighthearted smirk, plucking one of the flowers from the bunch and twirling it idly in his free hand.
“Well if they aren’t from you then they are from someone else.” You respond, walking towards the kitchen. Hakari follows closely behind you, setting the bags down on the countertop. He leans against the wall with his arms crossed, a curious smirk on his face as he watches you set up the flowers in a vase.
"So, who do you think sent 'em? Got any ideas?"
You pluck out the card, flashing it to him.
“I haven’t read it yet.”
Hakari's smirk widens in anticipation as he looks at the card, intrigued. He lets out an exaggerated scoff, pretending to be unbothered.
"Well, don't just stand there. Read it already. See who's been sending you flowers like a sap." You pull it open, reading the card.
“Love is the flower you’ve got to let grow, from your secret admirer.” You recite. Hakari lets out a genuine chuckle at the message, a hint of mischief glimmering in his eyes.
"That's pretty sappy, gotta hand it to 'em. Secret admirer, huh? Who do you think it could be?" He crosses his arms, feigning nonchalance, as he waits for your response.
“You don’t seem to be bothered with someone sending your girlfriend flowers?” You tease, tossing the card on the table. Hakari swipes it up, reading it again. Hakari chuckles once more, a smirk playing on his lips. He steps closer, closing the distance between the two of you.
"Nah, not really. I can't blame 'em for having good taste. And besides, I trust you." He reaches out, gently pulling you in by your hips, his smirk turning into a sly grin.
"But you still didn’t answer my question. Got any ideas who sent 'em?"
“I have no idea who it could be.” You tease, laughing softly “I have to say though, they did get my favorite flower. That’s nice attention to detail.” Hakari raises an eyebrow.
"Oh really? Your favorite flower, huh? Must’ve gotten lucky." He steps a little closer, his hands still on your hips as he looks down at you, a playful smirk on his face. He leans in, speaking in a low, flirty tone. "I wonder, do I match up to this secret admirer?"
“Hmm… do you? When’s the last time you got me flowers?” You tease, his grip tightens just slightly. Hakari lets out a mock sigh of feigned annoyance, rolling his eyes jokingly.
"Alright, you caught me there. I can't remember the last time I got you flowers. But that ain’t the only way I can get your attention, you know.”He steps even closer, his hands slowly wandering lower as he gently pulls you flush against his body. His eyes locked on yours in a playful glance.
~
Takuma frowned at the sight of flowers in a vase on the counter. He cocked his head, narrowing his eyes. He walked towards the bathroom, poking his head in where you were taking a shower.
“Hey, baby?”
“Yeah?” You called out from the shower.
“Someone got you flowers?” He asked as you turned off the water and blindly stuck your hand out for a towel. Takuma pushed further into the bathroom, handing you a towel. He waited a moment as you stepped out, wrapped yourself in a towel and wrung out your hair. Takuma leaned on the doorway, a pout on his face as you glanced over at him. You took in his pout and furrowed your brows.
“A coworker got them for me...Not sure who though.” You said, reaching out and gently grabbing the hem of his shirt.
“It’s not Chad is it?” He asks as you pull him to you.
“It’s not Brad, and getting his name wrong won’t make him go away, ya know?” You tease as he smirks.
“Oops.” Takuma shrugs. “So a secret admirer?”
“Uh huh. Did you read the card?” You ask as Takuma idly twists a strand of your hair with his index finger. He shakes his head. “Well apparently they like that I read while eating my lunch, they say it makes me look smart.” You fill him in as Takuma narrows his eyes.
“You eat alone?”
“Yeah,” you shrug. “I like to eat in the courtyard.”
“I’ll have lunch with you from now on.” He says as a smile fits to your lips at his obvious jealousy. “I don’t want some bozo thinking he can just write love poems and watch you from afar.”
“Baby, are you jealous?” You tease.
“Yes.” He says without hesitation making you giggle as you run a hand through his hair, tucking it out of his face. He leans into your touch. “You do know how hot you are right?” He asks, making you laugh.
“Calm down, I brought the flowers home for my mom, she likes daisies. And I’d love lunch with you everyday, even if it’s so you can puff out your chest.”
“No... no puffing of chests is happening. I’m just going to have lunch with my insanely hot girlfriend everyday for the rest of time.” He says, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
~
You had fallen asleep on the couch, waiting for Hiromi to get home. When he finally arrived late, he quietly stepped in through the front door, not wanting to wake you as you slept on the couch. There was an unfamiliar bouquet of flowers on the table by the couch that he glanced at before setting his things down and pulling off his jacket, loosening his tie. You stir awake on the couch, slowly sitting up as you yawn and stretch.
“You’re home late.” You remarked as he made his way over to you, running a hand through his hair before he’s pulled down next to you. He chuckles warmly as you sidle up beside him, placing your head on his chest as he wraps an arm around you.
“Did I wake you, love?”
“No… it’s alright.” You smile sleepily as he places a kiss on the top of your head.
“Waiting up for me?”
“Always.” You answer fondly. A small hum left his lips as he started to shower you with kisses, trailing down to your jaw and down to your neck. He held you close, grip tightening a bit.
"You didn't have to, I told you to go to bed even if I came home late"
“Well I wanted to thank you for the flowers. What was the occasion?”
“Flowers? I didn’t send them love.” Hiromi points out, still pressing absentminded kisses to your jaw and neck. It was hard to focus on his words. “I’ll toss' em for you.” He intones, pulling you into his lap.
“You’re not jealous are you?” You ask heatedly against his lips.
“They’re cheap, baby, they'll be dead by the morning.” He states, pulling you closer by the hips. “And rightfully so.”
“So you are jealous.” You tease feeling his grip tighten.
“And if I was?” He asks, voice low and warm, a slightly teasing tone to his voice. You laugh as he peppers more kisses.
“I’d say it looks good on you.”

Fake it 'till you Make it
The door slammed into it's frame with a bang so loud the glasses in it rattled. You panted, heart pounding hard in your chest as you tried to calm your erratic breathing. With shaking fingers you gripped the dark, wooden frame, so tight your nails scratched the furnishing off. You peered out of the yellow and red stained glasses, trying to identify the distorted shapes from the outside. Did he follow you? Was he still out there?
„What's...“
You felt a hand on your shoulder and reacted without thinking. You turned around with a shocked scream and whipped your arm out for a forceful slap. The sound reverberated around in the empty room as a slight stinging sensation ran through your palm. It snapped you back to reality and made you pause.
You blinked as your gaze went from your own, trembling hand, which now burned in an angry, red hue to a taupe face, the shadow of your handprint next to a wide, yellow smile. Your breath seemed to freeze as your eyes went up and finally met a pair of wide, burgundy ones.
"...the matter, dear?" Alastor finished, blinking before his face shifted slightly.
You stood speechless and frozen for a hot second, trying to recollect your thoughts before a tidal wave of emotion washed over your head. Embarrassment, followed by shock and, suddenly, by the sensation that started to build in your chest, the threat to bubble over in tears.
„Oh satan, Alastor, I-I'm so sorry. I, shit, I got you bad, I'm so sorry, th-there was.. and I was.."
You choked down another sob, words and feelings clogging up in your mouth. You rubbed at your stinging eyes, blinking away what you were trying desperately not to show. You thought it would have worked at least until Alastor's slender hands came up to wrap around your wrist and pull them away gently.
"Are you a singer, dear?" he chimed, his face unmoved, but his eyes softening a little. "Because that really was quite the hit! Ha ha!"
When you didn't join in his laugh, he immediately snapped out of it.
"But it seems my little joke was out of place, once again. What has you so rattled, little one?"
And this time, he actually made space and dropped the joke-y act, looking a bit worried. Which only added more pressure to the well in your chest. You squeezed your eyes shut to hold back any tears that tried to fight their way through, making yourself feel ridiculous.
"It's... there's this guy."
You swallowed sour spit down, licking your lips quickly before opening your mouth again, voice less shaky than you were feeling. "I saw him two weeks ago when I went grocery shopping with Niffty. He... he asked us for directions, I didn't know where the place he wanted to go was, and that was that. But ever since..."
Alastor's frown deepened. "Ever since then..?" he prompted carefully.
"...he kind of... pops up whenever I leave the hotel... he just shows up out of nowhere and asks me things. Follows me, doesn't listen when I tell him to leave me alone, doesn't know boundaries.." you balled your fists again, brows twitching down at the thought. "And today.. he tried to grab me, and I panicked, and I kicked him and he looked like..."
You looked back to the glasses.
"...it felt as if he was about to do something."
Alastor stared into you with these piercing eyes. It wasn't creepy, you didn't feel scrutinized or looked down on, and this wasn't the first time. Still, you felt that strange sense of unease in his intense gaze, like a cold hand was wrapped around your spine, running shivers down your back. It wasn't uncomfortable, per se, just... different. It had been months since you started your new job in the Hazbin Hotel as a bellhop, helping Charlie and Vaggie out in general. You weren't one to believe in redemption, but the work was easy, the residents nice and life, despite being dead, was good. It wasn't exactly peaceful, since living together with the radio demon sometimes had its challenges, but Alastor proved time after time that even if he could be quite eccentric, he was a good man deep down, funny and smart and interesting. Someone you could consider a friend.
That, however, didn't mean that he didn't spook you from time to time. He straightened his shoulders, brushed out imaginary dust from the sleeves of his suit, and when he spoke, there was an unmoving threat in his voice that he almost always hid behind his grins.
"He attempted to harm you?"
You furrowed your brows and stepped closer, leaving a little bit of space between you.
"I don't know... it felt like that. I didn't give it enough time to find out, I just ran back here."
"Smart girl.", he just commented, leaning over you to also watch the street through bulky glasses. You sighed and glanced out the windows. The sky had dimmed, red tinting the streets as it always did down here in the evenings. A few stray sinners stumbled along, either searching for a victim for the night or going home from their own sins. Still no trace of the demon. You could still feel the hot air of his breath on your neck when he bent forward. You grimaced at the thought of the stench of his sweat on the sleeves of your jacket.
"God... how am I going to go anywhere with him around?", you muttered to yourself, stepping back further and leaning against the table, burying your face into your hands. Alastor perked up at that. He tapped his cane against the floor.
"Oh, well I can't in good conscience allow my dear employee to fear the streets of the pentagram because of a silly pest."
You didn't catch his meaning. At least, not immediately. You shot a glance his way, giving him a skeptical look, furrowing a brow in confusion. "What do you-?"
He waved his cane, cutting you off, and put an arm around your shoulders. "I shall accompany you, then. When you need to go out, let me know and we'll show ourselves together. That sinner will get the gist then, I'm sure."
Your eyes widen. "Alastor, you're a genius!" you say with excitement as the thought slowly took root in your head, "If this creep thinks we're a couple, he might stay away."
"A what now?", Alastor asks, his smile faltering ever so slightly. However, his question was lost in your sudden enthusiasm, your excited rush of thoughts now loud and clear in your voice. "Then we should play the role in every aspect. We have to give off couple vibes, maybe show some PDA, nothing overboard, I know you don't like that kind of stuff, but holding hands might be believable enough. Oh, you're the best, Alastor."
"Yes, yes... so I've been told...", he replied with the usual giddy tone, although his voice sounded a little thick with white static.
You didn't pay much attention to it though, feeling a weight drop from your shoulders at the prospect of keeping the nuisance at bay. The whole idea might seem a bit strange to the others, but if it helped, why not?
***
"Well then, darling, ready to give the performance of your lifetime?", Alastor called the moment you exited the elevator. He was practically hopping over, grinning at you with a mixture of smugness, amusement and... something else. His smile grew, showcasing his pointed, sharp teeth with a flash. He was looking as dapper as always, dress coat neat and perfectly in place, cane ready at his hands - the radio demon as he breathed and lived.
"I hope so..." you muttered distractedly while straightening the hem of your uniform and peeking around the lobby. It was early morning and you had a not-so-short list of errands to run for the hotel. Alastor had been nonchalant about the trip when you asked him to accompany you last night, and you had half-assumed he had some matters of his own to tend to, or just flat-out backing out. But he just waved his hands and told you he'd be there at 8 a.m. sharp, which he was. In ALL the ways.
As it turned out the rumors of your plan must have traveled down the hotel grapevines fast and after a small bang and a hissed “Sssshhh!” from the left you saw the curious faces of Charlie, Niffty and Angel poking out the kitchen door, spying from afar and watching you and Alastor with bated breaths and loud-yet-shushed giggles.
"Don't tell me you're having a second thoughts on me accompanying you, dear.", Alastor stepped closer, wrapping his fingers around your hand in a tight grip, either oblivious to the audience or utterly non-fazed by them. You shook your head no, grimacing a little as your body tensed up in a bit of... concern. Not because of what you were about to do, no, it had everything and nothing to do with him and the... um. Hand. Touching.
"We can hear you, you know.", you hissed in the direction of the whispered squeals at his gesture, face scrunching up when a peal of giggling broke out and Angel audibly snorted through a quickly closed door. "Jus' be careful, tits, if 'ya go further than that with the oldtimer 'ya might need to buy some protection while 'ya out."
***
The plan was quite simple, but you guessed it had the possibility of either working like a charm or the idiot getting so mad, he could lose it and try something stupid.
Nevertheless, with Alastor on your side you didn't feel as paranoid and suffocated about leaving the grounds of the hotel. And his idea had worked out brilliantly so far. Not a single sign of your stalker, you had only met the usual faces on the main market road of the Pentagram City - maybe they stared a little more... okay, a LOT more, seeing you arm in arm with Al - and you ran into Angels' friend, Cherri Bomb, when you had to get some permits renewed. She had been friendly but extremely surprised and curious about since when you and Alastor, THE Radio demon were parading around 'like a pair of fuckin' newlyweds', in her words.
Alastor tried to brush her off with a monotone "What can I say? The good Lady just adores my presence.", squeezing your hand a little tighter, but his answer didn't satisfy her, so Cherri tried to pry into you, raising a brow and shooting you a smirk. "Al is a fun guy and interesting to talk to and spend time with. I like his company.", you shrugged, signing a paper, avoiding looking the cyclops into the eyes while you felt your ears redden.
It took her a good minute of blank stare, but when her grin slowly grew wider, you had no choice but to warn her with a hard stare and a small shake of your head. She rolled her one eye but she made a gesture of sealing the lips, still oogling the connection of your hands with impish delight.
At that moment you felt a squeeze on the hand, still in Alastor's grasp and his heavy stare from your right. His smile seemed fixed, a bit on the strained side, although his gaze remained cheerful.
"Everything wrapped up here, dearest?" he asked, tapping his foot impatiently.
"Almost done, just this document and the hotel can continue to serve alcohol. Husk would give me one hell of a shot if I'd forget that one."
You looked over to see if Alastor would pick up on the joke, but he was staring intently somewhere over your shoulder, so you just filed the form quickly and waved your friend goodbye. He quickened his steps, almost dragging you away as he paced down the street. You almost tripped over you own feet, trying to keep up with him.
"I think your persistent little pursuer has found us, darling. Don't look, just walk."
You sped up, also feeling a presence that had been on your heels a little longer than comfortable, a weighty silence behind your back. Still, as you rounded a corner, you just had to take a tiny peek and you saw, from the corner of your eyes, that the deranged looking coyote was gaining on you, still keeping his distance, his figure only a dark, moving smudge in the distance.
"Um... I guess now's a good time for a Plan B.", you said, halting in front of an antique shop.
Alastor's hand slid a bit lower, only his fingers curled around yours now, his warm touch tingling. "I'm thinking of it. Knowing your weak stomach, darling, bloodshed is out of the question?" he inquired, acting overly interested in a vintage gramophone showcased in the shop window and you snorted.
"You remember that?"
"Dear, it's hard to forget the amount of bile Niffty had to clean out of the dishwasher after you ran into my cooking...experiment."
"Not my proudest moment...", you laughed nervously, feeling cold sweat gather up on your back as you saw the rabid looking demon from the corner of your eye, creeping closer and closer. Alastor gave you a long, thoughtful look, before he spoke again, quietly and serious.
"Then let us both hope you'll stomach Plan B better."
Before you could think much, Alastor turned towards you, untangling his fingers from yours. His now freed hand cupped your cheek, and before you could say anything, he bowed down, tilting his head a bit to the side and gently pressed his ever-smiling lips against yours.
It was not your first kiss in your afterlife, but it might have very well been, seeing as your first response was an electric jolt up your spine. And this reaction wasn't even the weirdest part if the actual kissing part was just some peck. This wasn't a peck. A kiss with lips unmoving wasn't a kiss, it was more of a mouth-touching. This was something way more.
As surprising as the kiss was the tenderness with which he brought his lips to yours. It was gentle and yet so sensual that it sent small currents all over your skin, causing your eyes to close, goosebumps to form along your arms and a nervous flutter to erupt in the pit of your stomach. And maybe, maybe it lasted for just a fraction of the eternity it felt like, but if someone would have asked you later, you would swear he stole more than just a taste with the kiss. The slight push and pull between your mouths left the edges of your skin numb, the press of his smooth and heated mouth stirring up a peculiar feeling inside you that kept growing and rising and..
What was the reason for this again?
Oh yeah, your stalker.
Stalker.
You opened your eyes, seeing Alastor's burning red eyes fixated on something behind you, his expression intense with the hint of arrogance, a possessive smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. Something about that, the feel, the look in his eyes, made the back of your neck prickle. You blushed a little bit more but caught onto the reason the moment you realized what he was doing, trying to break the kiss to see where the coyote was.
You could only turn your head far enough to see the quickly shrinking silhouette of the demon vanishing in the distance, before Alastor brought his other hand to your waist, pulling you closer together, his tongue slipping between your lips, coaxing your lips to open again. Your own tongue responded and, together they mingled and twined with one another, sending the nerve-ending of your lips into a pleasant tingling sensation.
"A-Alas...tor...", you tried to get the words out as he nipped your lower lip, your eyes falling into those bright, heavy lidded ones of his, eyes which you couldn't stop looking into.
"He.. he's gone."
"Mh. Pity...", Alastor breathed with a soft hum, his chest rumbling at his words. His response had a mixture of sarcasm and amusement in it, but before you could properly ponder on them, your entire mind short-circuited when you realized he made no move to pull away.
Quite the opposite - with his hand sliding to your neck he pulled you onto his mouth again, deepening the kiss as his tongue slipped past your lips once more, completely shutting your mind down as a quiet, heartbreaking moan escaped your throat.
The fact that you two were in public, still standing in front of some store, all on display for anyone that might come down the road, didn't register in the haze that was slowly, so pleasantly slowly, forming. So lost were you in that fog of heat that the surroundings suddenly got distorted, leaving the alley, the store, the city completely. Your head spun at the sensations, a tremble raked across your nerves as your knees grew weak at the sound of his playful voice, echoing in the void you found yourself in.
"Let's draw it out a little more, darling, hm? Just to make sure."

Whose Wife Is This?
Tumblr media
Pairing: John Price x F!Reader
Summary: John comes home and finds out that he somehow has a wife.
a/n: lmaooo I just had this idea before I went to bed the other night. Kinda wrote this in a hurry so it isn't organized at all and the story is all over the place, yada yada. Bare with me... Bear with me? *shrugs*
word count: 1k
***
John tried to rub the sleep out of his eyes to no avail. There was no way of hiding that the long nights he’d been putting in at the office were weighing on him. But with no reason to go home, why would he? He’d just have to complete the mountain of paperwork the next day anyway. His eyes strained from hours of reading, his wrist ached from writing.
Young John Price would’ve never imagined the amount of paper pushing he’d be doing as an operator. His naive young self lived for the chaos of the field, sometimes even putting off his less-than-exciting duties.
“Sir?” John’s head shoots up. The boys stand at his door huddled around the small entrance. “You staying here all night, Captain?” Gaz asks with concern mixed into his voice. John looks over to the now significantly smaller pile of papers littering his desk.
“I was just finishing up. You boys need something?”
Gaz shakes his head, “No, sir.” A smirk plays on his lips. “Just tell your wife we said ‘hello’.”
“I’ll let her know.” He replies absentmindedly. The boys leave the captain alone once again, he continues looking at the papers, shuffling them around before he stops abruptly.
“My wife? What the bloody hell were they talking about.” He mutters to himself. He takes it as a sign that he should call it a night since he is now imagining things. “I don’t have a wife. Why would he say that?”
***
The drive home is silent. At the end of a long day, he couldn’t stand to listen to anything, his mind was too exhausted to think about anything but a beer and his bed. Not many knew about his personal life. Ghost was the only one who knew he’d been married before, but the marriage occurred when he was younger and undoubtedly more immature.
He made it to selection, began his career, and fell into the same pattern many men in his profession did: Partying, one-night stands, etc. He would be the first to admit that he’d been a piss-poor husband and he was now missing the touch of a woman in his life. His bed was lonely, his house devoid of life, reflecting how often he was actually home. He’d become a hopeless romantic, dreaming of someone he could hold in his arms. He yearned for someone to memorize. Their little habits and quirks, someone he’d share moments with, even have arguments with.
He pulls into his driveway barely remembering the drive home. He groans as he steps out of his car, his back aching from the day of training and being hunched over. He moseys his way to the front door and unlocks it while letting out a deep breath. The hallway is lit by a single dim light, the brown floral wallpaper looks like it came from the 19th century and gives the home a depressing look. He unties his boots and kicks them off leaving them next to the door. He removes his uniform top tossing it on the chair on the opposite wall before his feet pat softly against the hardwood floors leading towards the kitchen, towards a beer he so badly wanted to have.
He briefly glances at a photo framed on the wall and continues onward-
Wait a second?
He takes a couple of steps back and his head snaps towards the photo. His eyes scan it knowing for a fact that it had not been there in the morning… Or any time before that. A woman in a white sun dress sat smiling in a field of flowers. He rubs his eyes, unable to believe what he is seeing, she’s wearing his bucket hat.
He looks further down the hall and sees another picture frame, this one on top of the entryway table next to a pot of plants he either forgot to water or wasn’t around to. He rushes over to it and his eyes almost pop out of his head. This photo was of him smiling down at the same woman. He reaches for it, holding it close to his face. He looks around trying to make sense of what was happening only to realize the pot of dead plants now had vibrant green leaves pouring out of it.
Maybe he’d entered the wrong house? That couldn’t be, the furniture was in the same place as it had been before. And he couldn’t deny that the man in the photo looked exactly like him. Just as he was certain he was losing his mind a feminine voice calls out for him.
“John?”
He puts the picture frame back on the table and swings around towards the voice. Small bits of light flood into the hallway from the crack in the kitchen door. He slowly pushes the door further, his eyes trying to adjust to the bright light.
“There you are! I thought I heard you come home.” A woman rushes towards him wiping her hands on her pink apron. She pulls him into a hug but he’s too stunned to react. She pecks his cheeks and pulls him towards the dining table. “Sit, honey. I made you dinner. You stayed so late today, you’re probably starving.”
He lets her drag him to the table and plops down on a chair. She flows around the counter and returns with a plate of food. She places it in front of him in between the cutlery already on the table. The meal looks far better than what he’s been putting together for himself the last few weeks. He usually cooked or meal planned but work this week just didn’t let him and he expected to come home tonight and sleep for dinner.
He blinks at her for a few seconds unsure of how he ended up in this situation.
“Love, what are you doing in my house?”
“I’m your wife silly,” You giggle at him while leaning over to give him another kiss on the cheek.
If he had the energy to argue he would, but instead he decided to eat. He licks the plate clean and brings it to the kitchen sink.
“C’mon, honey. You’re so tired, let’s get you in bed.”
He follows quietly trying to figure out if he should accept this or if he should ask questions in the morning. There’s only one thing he knows for sure in his exhausted state: That’s not his wife.

You and your boyfriend, Tsukishima, decided to have a movie night at your house. He got a kick out of watching you get scared and cling onto him, so he decided to pop on a horror movie, something spooky with werewolves.
"You scared yet?" He asked, a mischievous glint in his eyes while he peered at you over his glasses.
He let out a 'tch' sound when you shook your head.
The movie reached the halfway mark, and the main villain, a giant half-man, half-wolf monster trapped the female main character against a wall. The camera zoomed into the slow motion bite the werewolf took into the girl's neck.
Your eyes widened slightly at the scene. You couldn't help the blush that appeared on your face the longer the movie dragged out the scene. It seemed more like a porno than a horror movie with each bite the werewolf left in the girl, licking over each bitemark he left.
Your boyfriend, being the observant bastard he was, took notice of your behavior immediately and smirked.
"What, are you into this shit or something?"
"Wha—? No, what are you saying? Of course not," you said, pushing his shoulder, face still warm. "Just mind your own! Watch the movie."
You placed your hands on each side of your face, keeping them straight to try and block his view of your embarrassed face, an obvious tell.
He raised an eyebrow at your reaction, that smirk still plastered on his face.
"Your face is red as a tomato and you're trying to cover it. Are you sure you aren't into it?" He teased, poking your cheek.
He grabbed your wrists and moved your hands away from your face, his smirk growing wider at the sight of your flushed expression.
"Oh, wow," he snickered, "your face and ears are red. Very suspicious."
"Shut up," you mumbled, internally cringing at how you had been called out. "My face is not red, and I am not 'into' whatever you're trying to imply, thank you very much!"
Your voice got more high and defensive by the second, trying and failing to cover up the way  his teasing paired with the semi-erotic scene of the movie made you feel.
He chuckled at your defensive reaction, his smirk turning into a full-on grin.
"Ooh, denial," he said, resting his arm around the back of the couch. "It looks good on you." He shifted closer to you on the couch, leaning in to whisper into your ear. "You know, you're very cute when you're flustered," he teased, gently nipping your earlobe in the process.
You flinched as he grazed his teeth over your ear, slipping away from him in embarrassment.
"Ack—!" You turned away from him, swatting at him with your hand.
He chuckled at your flustered reaction, scooting closer to you once again.
"Aw, look at you, trying to run away. He gently grabbed your ankle and tugged you toward him. "Are you getting shy off a little nip? How sweet." He moved closer until he was hovering over you, pinning you to the couch with his arms on either side of your head. "Admit it. This movie is getting you turned on," he said, looking down at you with a smug expression. "You're probably into that whole monster-fucking thing, aren't you?"
You turned your head away from him, trying to hide your face in the crook of your shoulder.
"No, I'm not, don't say that," you whined, you legs and feet squirming in an attempt to keep yourself from squealing.
He chuckled at your desperate attempt to hide your face and avoid the topic. He gently lifted your chin, forcing you to look at him.
"You're such a bad liar," he teased, his smirk never leaving his face. "Your face always gives it away."
He leaned closer, his lips grazing your jawline, leaving a trail of feather-light kisses up to your ear.
"It's okay, you know," he whispered, his breath hot against your skin. "I won't judge you for your nasty, little kink."
"Ugh, stop saying that!" You wiggled a little more, but didn't push him off. "It's not a kink, it's just— it's nothing," you mumbled again.
He chuckled once again at your protest, clearly enjoying teasing you.
"Oh, it's definitely a fetish," he teased, his hand slowly trailing up your side, his touch sending chills down your spine.
"And there's nothing wrong with that," he said, his lips brushing against your neck, nibbling on a sensitive spot. "It's cute how embarrassed you are over it. You act like I don't already know half of the stuff you're into."
You faltered at the way he brushed it off, not weirded out by it. You craned your head to give him better access to your neck.
"So— so what, then? What are we gonna do about it then?" you asked nervously, trying to stop yourself from stuttering or coming off as ashamed.
He could practically hear the worry in your voice despite the tough attitude you tried to put up.
"Oh-ho, so you finally admit it?" He teased, grinning as he continued to trail kisses down your neck, his hand slowly tracing up your torso. "Well, if my cute girlfriend has a thing for monsters, I suppose it's my duty to satisfy that little kink of hers, don't you think?"
You got brave for a moment and decided to say something way out of character, pushing past your nerves.
"So, are you gonna be my monster tonight?"
You immediately widened your eyes, surprised by the tone you took and the words that came out of your mouth.
He froze for a moment, clearly taken aback by your unexpected boldness. A half of a moment later, however, he let out a low chuckle, a approving smile spreading across his face.
"Look at you, getting all feisty," he said, his hand pausing in its exploration of your body. "You really want me to be a monster, huh?" he teased, his touch resuming as he shifted to hover over you again. "Do you know what happens to naughty girls who tease monsters?"
You shook off the rest of your shyness and got into the zone, sensing that your boyfriend was equally as turned on. Wrapping your legs around him and flipping him over on his back, you sat straddled over him and leaned over his face, inches away from his lips while you answered his question.
"They get devoured, don't they, Kei?"
He snickered as you flipped him over, clearly enjoying the unexpected change of power dynamics. He watched you with a mixture of amusement and desire as you straddled him, leaning over him with that sultry expression.
When you uttered that bold reply, he couldn't repress the grin that tugged at the corners of his lips. He was enjoying this little game a bit too much.
"You're starting to get so spicy, tonight," he murmured, his hands now wrapped around your waist.
"Who, me? Nah," you said, your smirk growing on your face. "Now, are we gonna finish the movie or what?"
You raised yourself on your knees, ready to remove yourself from his lap so you both could get back to the movie.
He chuckled as you teasingly denied his comment, loving the playful banter between the two of you. When you started to move off his lap, he tightened his grip on your waist, keeping you in place.
"Oh no, you don't," he said, still grinning. "You're staying right where you are."
He gently tugged you back down onto his lap, his hands roaming up and down your thighs.
"And forget about the movie," he added, his gaze fixed on you. "I'm much more interested in playing with you now."
You felt him hike you forward in one swift motion.
"You're such a tease," he murmured, his eyes fixed on yours. "Trying to leave me already? Did you really think I was gonna let you go that easily?" He pulled you closer to him, his legs trapping you in his lap. "Just for that little stunt, I'm gonna keep you right here," he said. "You're not going anywhere until I say so."
"Ah, I'm not? Well then," you said, slowly making circles with your hips over his lap, "I guess I'll just have to let you do whatever you want, hm, Mr. Werewolf-Boyfriend?"
He inhaled sharply as you began moving your hips over his lap, his grip on your thighs tightening. A low growl rumbled in his chest as he watched you with desire and amusement.
"Mr. Werewolf-Boyfriend, huh?" he replied, his voice dripping with mock condescension. "You're really getting into this monster schtick, aren't you?"
He pulled you even closer, effectively trapping you against his body, and leaned in to nibble on your shoulder.
"Mm," you hummed, melting in his arms. You let him continue for a second before you remembered something, snapping to back to attention. "Babe, wait, I have something prepared for a moment like this." You tried to wriggle out of his grasp to go fetch it.
He let out a low growl of protest as you began to struggle against his grip, his hands gripping you even tighter as he tried to keep you in place.
"H-Hey, where are you going?" he asked, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
But when you mentioned you had something prepared, his curiosity outweighed his possessiveness, and he reluctantly loosened his grip on you.
"Alright, alright," he said, releasing his hold on you. "You can go get whatever you need. Just don't take too long."
You ran into your bedroom and came out with a plastic bag from a local sex-toy shop.
"I brought this just— just, like, in case, you know? Anyways..."
You pulled out to werewolf ear hair clips and handed them to him.
"There, put those on, and I'll put these on too," you said. You placed a pair of bunny ears on your head and jokingly twitched your nose at him.
He stared at the contents of the bag with a mixture of amusement and curiosity, his eyebrows raising slightly as you handed him the werewolf ear hair clips.
"You went out and bought this stuff yourself?" he asked, surprise in his voice. He scoffed as he examined the accessories, his finger tracing the outline of the clip. "You're full of surprises, aren't you?"
He slipped the werewolf ear clips into his hair, letting out a mock growl as he did so. He then looked at your bunny ears, palming his hard-on while he watched you adjust them.
You bit your lip at the sound of his growl, giggling softly. You looked through the bag one final time and felt a bit hesitant, unsure of whether or not to pull out the last two items in the bottom of it.
He snorted as you giggled at the growl, enjoying how bubbly you got about such a small sound. He watched as you rummaged through the bag, his curiosity piqued. He noticed the brief hesitation in your movements, and he couldn't help but wonder what else you had prepared.
"What's that, hm?" he asked, a pout playing on his lips. "What else do you have in there? I'm starting to wonder if you're hiding anything else in that little bag of wonders."
You sighed and pulled out a collar and leash.
"I just didn't know how you would feel about these— I mean, we don't have to use them, I just got them just in case, like— just in case we would need them, or— or if—!" You stumbled over your words roughly, babbling a bit while you tried to explain yourself.
He let out a low whistle as you pulled out the collar and leash, his eyebrows raising in surprise. He watched as you fumbled over your words, trying to explain.
"Oh, now that's something I didn't expect," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. He chuckled at your flustered state, seeing how worked up you were.
"So, you got those just in case, huh?" he asked, taking the collar from you and admiring it. "And who, exactly, did you intend on having wear this?"
"Well, read the tag and find out."
"Good Boy," he read aloud, his eyes flicking up to meet your gaze. "Well well, you've really gone all out on this, haven't you?" he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "You're determined to play the role of my little bunny prey, aren't you?"
Kei handed the collar and leash back to you.
"Put it on me, then."
You fidgeting with your hands excitedly before unclipping the collar.
"Lean forward, m'kay?"
He laughed softly, amused by your excitement as you unclipped the collar. He obeyed your command and leaned forward, his eyes fixed on you with curiosity. His head tilted to one side slightly, exposing his neck so that you could put the collar on him.
"Like this, bunny girl?" he teased, his tone playful.
You nodded and put the collar onto him, attaching the leash onto it.
"Comfy?"
You had a loose grasp on the leash, waiting for him to answer.
He ran his fingers over the collar around his neck, adjusting it slightly. It clung snugly to his skin, but not uncomfortably so.
"Yeah, it's comfortable," he replied, his voice dripping with pure amusement. He leaned back slightly, letting the leash hang loose in your grip. "So, what now?"
"I've got to fix your clips for you, first off, you said. Taking the wolf ears out of his hair, readjusted them and clipped them back in.
"How do I look?"
"You look.." you paused, watching him close his mouth, lick over his teeth, and flash them at you like a true werewolf, "so hot, babe."
"Yeah? You like them, huh?" Kei teased, hair slightly messy from the clips. "You think I look hot as a werewolf monster?"
You tightened your grip on the leash and tugged him forward roughly as you unzipped his pants, freeing his length.
"So hot," you repeated to answer his question, yanking the leash so he would look up at you. You removed your panties and tossed them, grinding your slick folds over his dick.
He let out a low growl as you suddenly rubbed over him and tugged on his leash, pulling him closer to you. He looked up at you obediently as you yanked on the leash, his golden-brown eyes locked on your face.
"Is that so?" he said, his voice lower and a bit gruff from the arousal. He felt his heart start to speed up at the way you suddenly took control. "You like having your little monster on a leash, do you? Is that how you want me? Leashed for you?"
You grabbed Kei's face in your hands, rubbing softly under his chin and on his cheeks as if you were petting him.
"Mm, no," you said in a low tone, nuzzling your nose against his, "I want you fucking into me, but that will come soon enough, Mr. Werewolf."
He leaned into your touch, his eyes closing slightly as you rubbed under his chin and against his cheeks. However, your words and the feeling of you nuzzling your nose against his piqued his attention, and he opened his eyes again.
He huffed out a breath, the sexual tension  making it more of a growl than a normal exhale. "Is that so? You think a slutty bunny like you deserves to get fucked?" he challenged, his voice still gruff. "I don't think you do."
"I'll just do what bunnies are best at to convince you," you said coolly, wrapping the leash around your palm, ready to tug it whenever necessary.
Kei felt his heart race a bit faster as you tightened your grip on the leash, his eyes flicking down to watch your movement.
He raised an eyebrow at your words, "Oh, and what's that? Running and hiding?" he asked, unable to resist the urge to push your buttons a little.
"No."
You yanked the leash roughly, pulling him forward. Your tone became cold and rough, but still flirtatious.
"Bunnies are best at bouncing."
You blew a puff of air over his face, chuckling at him as he blinked quickly in response.
"They're pretty good at multiplying, too. Maybe you should knot me and we can have ourselves a litter."
He was dazed by the unexpected roughness of your tone, but he was more distracted by the feel of the leash being pulled and the puff of air you blew across his face, making him involuntarily blink. His cheeks flushed a slight shade of red at your words. He tried to maintain his cocky facade, but the way you were talking was making it increasingly difficult.
"Are you really suggesting what I think you're suggesting?" he asked, his voice slightly hoarse.
You could feel his legs start to shake under you in excitement.
"I'm serious, big, bad wolf." You leaned forward on his lap, whispering into his ear. "No pulling out at the last minute. No rubbers. Nothing. I want to carry your pups. Y'gonna let me have 'em?"
His breath hitched at your whispered words, your breath tickling his ear. He let out a low, guttural growl. His heart was thumping in his chest, the thought of what you were suggesting stirring something primal within him.
"You really have no idea what you're asking for, do you?" His voice was nothing but a low rumble at this point. "You want me to claim you? Breed you and fill you with my pups?"
"I want your pups," you paused, breaking character for a moment, "and I want your babies, Kei." You threw your hands over his shoulders, leaning face to face with him. "Now, I'll ask you again, one more time. Are you going to give them to me?"
His face softened as he realized you were breaking character and being genuine about it. He met your gaze, his eyes searching yours. He saw the hint of seriousness in your eyes, and he knew you were being sincere.
He brought his hands up to your hips, holding you in place. He leaned in closer, his forehead touching yours.
"Yes," he said, his voice thick with unrestrained desire. "I'll give them to you. I'll give you my pups. I'll give you all of me, bunny girl."
"Then hurry up and fill me up."
You let go of your hold on the leash and let him flip you over, taking control again, finally getting a taste of the dominance he so craved.
He took the opportunity to take over, pining you down beneath him on the couch cushions. His eyes darkened with desire as he straddled you, the leash tangled in between you.
He leaned in close, his breath hot against your neck as he spoke. "You really are a naughty girl, aren't you?" he murmured, his voice dripping with possessive need. "Begging for my pups like that."
"I know what I want," you said, wrapping you legs around his waist, pulling him close to you half naked body. "Bunnies need to get bred, you know that. Don't you, smart boy?"
He let out a low growl as you wrapped around him. He could feel the heat radiating from your cunt and it was driving him crazy.
"Oh, I know," he muttered, his hands gripping your thighs, splitting them apart while he slid into you. "I know how needy you bunnies can be. Always in need of a big, strong wolf to satisfy your cravings."
"Yeah, jus' because you wolves are so much better than boy bunnies. S'much bigger 'n stronger," you whined, placing your hand around his arm, gripping onto it tightly while he made shallow thrusts into you. "Just want a strong werewolf like to knock me up. Can't you do that for me?"
He groaned as you spoke, relishing in the way you were complimenting him. He flexed his arm, enjoying the feeling of your hand against his bicep.
"Wan' me to prove just how much stronger I am than a puny, little bunny boy?" Lowering  his mouth to your neck, he sucked at your skin, his teeth grazing over your pulse point.
Your mouth fell open, feeling his sharp teeth nip at you.
"Yes, that's all I want! Don't want you to hold back, 'm a greedy girl. I want every load."
Kei loved your eagerness. He nibbled and kissed down your neck, his teeth dragging along your skin just enough to leave faint red marks. You couldn't tell what you enjoyed more: the feeling of his dick inside of you or his mouth around you.
"Is that so?" he muttered, his hips snapping up against yours. He pulled back to look down at you, a glint in his eyes. "You really think you can handle a big, bad wolf like me? I won't hold back, you know." He punctuated his words with a rough thrust, knocking your entire body forward.
You gasped and tried to catch your breath for a second. "Babe," you broke character briefly, trying to catch his attention.
Kei paused his ministrations, sensing the change in your tone. He lifted his head, looking down at you with a slightly concerned expression.
"Everything alright, baby?" he asked, his voice laced with a mix of concern and affection.
"If you don't get cum inside of me in the next ten seconds, I'm going to fist fight you, m'kay?" Your eyes fluttered softly at him, voice soaked in need and impatience.
He chuckled at your impatience, his concern melting away and replaced by a smug grin.
"You really are demanding, aren't you. Far be it from me to keep my bunny waiting."
He gritted his teeth, eyebrows furrowing as he lifted your legs over his shoulder, pounding away. He watched as a ring of white arousal formed at the base of his cock, getting stickier the more he moved.
"Are you ready for this one?"
You nodded, playfully counting down to speed him up before you started 'throwing hands.'
"Ten, nine, eight, seven si— oh!"
As you began to countdown, he scoffed, a bit annoyed by your playful attempt to speed things along. Once he was almost there, his irritation was replaced by the feeling of your tightness all around him causing him to moan huskily.
All he felt was you. Every vice-like grip you unleashed around him, every slick drip slipping out.
You felt him force your face down in the pillows, muffling your counting when he approached his peak.
You let out a bunch of rough, jumbled gasps before giggling with your dry mouth. You decided to tease him, since he was obviously more far-gone than you were.
"I feel it twitching, gonna spill soon? Spill your seed and give me the pups I deserve?" You lifted your head off of the pillows, face fucked out beyond comprehension.
He growled at your words, his hands gripping your hips almost harshly as he tried to hold himself back. He could feel the way you had him completely at your mercy, even as you were pinned beneath him.
"You have no idea what you're doing to me, do you? You're going to push me over the edge if you keep talking like that."
You pushed your hips back, feeling his dick twitch again.
"C'mon, I'll count down again for you. Think you can cum for me by the time I get to one?"
Kei groaned deeply as you pushed back against him. He could feel himself getting close, the way you were teasing him driving him wild.
He tried to maintain his composure, but his breath was ragged and his heart was pounding. "Whatever you want," he whined, "I don't care, just— whatever you want, baby, please. Take it."
You pushed him, once again, all the way onto his back. You remained facing away from him, moving your lower body up and down, bouncing on his cock. He let out a strangled gasp as you pushed him onto his back, pinning him there as you took control.
"Ten, nine, eight," you counted aloud, a giggle permanently stuck in your voice.
You sped up, hearing him pant loudly like a dog, mouth shamelessly open.
"Seven, six, five, four, oh, are you gonna make it to one?" you cooed at him, feeling him lift his hips to buck up into you.
Kei felt his resolve weakening with each number you counted out. He tried to hold back, to maintain some semblance of control, but it was no use. He was weak. He could feel himself getting closer and closer to the edge with each bounce.
"Three," you counted agonizingly slow now, drawing out every syllable. So mean.
"Please," Kei breathed out, the word coming out as a whine. "Please, bunny, I can't hold on much longer."
"Two, oh you're so cute when you beg," you added, tittering to yourself. "One."
Kei was an absolute mess beneath you, his body trembling and his breath coming in spastic gasps. His fingers dug into the cushioning below him, his fingers puncturing the fabric as he tried to hold himself together.
But when you counted down to one, that single, earth shattering number, his control wavered and broke. Guttural moans slipped as he came inside of your needy cunt, his body bucking and shuddering as he spilled inside, softly spewing curses under his breath.
You felt your body practically split itself in half to receive his seed, drinking him up like water.
As he came down from the high of his release, he lay there panting, feeling completely spent. His mind was fuzzy, his thoughts a muddled mess as he tried to catch his breath.
Kei looked at you with a mixture of awe and disbelief. "You really know how to a guy wild."
"Mhm, I know."
You turned around to look at him, faux confusion on your face while you peered down at his exhausted form.
"Oh, but, who said we were finished? Bunnies need to get as many rounds in as possible. Are you weaker than a bunny-boy? You can't take anymore?"
He groaned at your comment, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched you look down at him with a feigned innocence. He knew you were just teasing him, but he couldn't help but feel a flare of competitiveness rile him up.
"Oh, is that so? You think you can handle another round with me, stupid rabbit?" he asked, his voice dripping with a playful challenge. He reached out and grabbed your wrist, pulling you around to face him head on again.
"Eek—! Tsukki, I was joking, I promise!"
He shushed your squealing and pulled you down.
"Don't run, we still have pups to make, remember? We need my seed to take for sure."

A/N: I have been away for a while because I was busy learning another language aka Dutch. I still am but at least I am done with my big exam. As soon as I was done with it, I found myself writing again.
This is a random idea that just popped into my head while listening to music and taking a walk. Pure angst for some reason. Usually, I go for smutty ideas but bear with me.

>> Hey! I know you don’t want to hear anything about Bucky, but I think you should check these out. I think he wrote these songs for you.
Two links from Spotify follow the text you received from one of your best friends, and you stare for a while, trying to decide what to do. You really don’t want to hear his voice. Not because you don’t like his singing or his songs, but you wanted to get back on your feet. It would be impossible if you kept listening to his songs. Besides, hearing his voice has always softened you. And your best friend knows this. She knows a lot about your relationship, how everything went down, and how you two eventually broke up. If she didn't think you should listen to these songs, she wouldn't be sending you these links, right?
You take a deep breath and click on the first link. The song starts to play, and you notice the soft vibe right away. It’s not particularly Bucky’s style. He sounds like he’s in pain but he's singing with such clarity that surprises you.
He talks about how much he regrets the things he didn’t do when he was with you. How he misses you so much every day. How much he wants to call you, but he’s afraid that you won’t pick up the phone or worse, you will talk to him like a stranger. He says he always knew how precious you were, yet he took you for granted.
The lyrics flow flawlessly. It sounds like poetry to your ears. The way he expressed himself so beautifully… You can’t believe he wrote such a heartfelt song about you, and it’s not even his style. He’s a freaking rockstar. He usually writes about sex, rock and roll, and drugs. Not feelings. Then the song finally reaches the chorus and his words make you freeze.
“You are the love of my love.”
Did he really just say that? Did he just call you the love of his life? You feel this rush of emotions, and it’s hard to distinguish what you are actually feeling. It makes it harder to think, harder to focus on anything else other than the fact that this song is for you. That’s when you notice the name of the song. It’s the Love of My Life.
Suddenly, you start to feel angry. Every other emotion just takes a backseat. You hate him. So fucking much! Why is he always like this? Saying everything a little too late. Was it so hard for him to tell you this when you wanted to find just one reason to stay with him? You begged him to communicate with you maybe a million times. He always said it was not easy for him to put his feelings into words. Good or bad. It didn’t matter. He always struggled with his emotions. You tried your best. You tried to show him that he could trust you, that you would always be there for him, but it didn’t matter in the end. You felt like you were the only one trying to make this relationship work.
That’s when you decided to give up. It felt like he just didn’t care enough. He didn’t put any effort into changing things or making you feel like you weren’t just beating a dead horse.
You hoisted the white flag and moved on with your life. That’s when he decides to put whatever he feels into words. Instead of talking to you, he makes a song about it. Then he puts it out into the world.
What a fucking asshole!
It takes you a while to realize the song is over as the silence fills the room. As much as you hate how he chose to do this, the silence disturbs you. It might be a little too late, but you still want to hear what he has to say. Your own rules about not listening to any of his songs instantly go out the window.
You open the messaging app and click on the second link. This one sounds a little bit more like his usual style. The name of the song though, instantly catches your attention this time. It’s one of the nicknames he used often for you.
He starts the song by saying that he knows how selfish he is. That he has no right to feel this way, but he just saw you with someone else and he hated how it made him feel. He talks about how jealous he is. How he can’t help but imagine you in that guy’s arms. Then he realized you might call him baby, just like you used to call him. Then he continues by begging you not to call him baby, how he wants you to save that pet name for him even though he’s not in your life anymore.
There are so many details throughout the song that indicate he’s talking about you, there is no mistaking. He calls you by your nickname, saying how he loves the way you talk passionately about your interests, how compassionate you are, and how much effort you put into maintaining your relationship but he was too stupid and pathetic to appreciate them.
Every word that comes out of his mouth makes you even angrier. How dare he? How dare he write a song like this for you? After everything you have been through, after all the effort you put into your relationship, after every heartbreak… He realizes how much he values you just because he saw you with someone else.
Selfish bastard!
He has no right to put these words out there. He has no right to feel jealous. You are not his anymore. You can call someone else baby if that’s what you want. How dare he try to dictate to you like this? It makes you wanna call someone up and go out on another date and call him baby, just in spite.
The problem is, it’s just your stubborn nature talking. Before this song, you didn’t even think about calling someone else baby. You didn’t feel like it. Subconsciously, you were reserving that pet name for him. And that fucker knew it. He just knew it!
You exhale deeply, trying to calm yourself down. The song is over, but you can still hear him singing in your head. The song is so beautiful. Petty but so fucking beautiful. He sounds like he poured his heart out without caring how vulnerable it makes him look.
Another deep breath, you try to understand which date he is talking about. You have been on a couple of dates since you two broke up. You were so dedicated to moving on. You didn’t care if it would hurt him. Because he didn’t care about how much he hurt you all those times you tried your hardest to make things work. So you went out with a couple of gentlemen. Some of them were decent, and some of them were downright horrible. Dating is just as tedious as you remembered. A lot of assholes out there who don’t care who they are hurting. You didn’t get hurt, though. You didn't care enough about any of them to give them the power to hurt you.
Then it finally hits you. He’s talking about your date with that motherfucking movie star! That one was big news for a while. You got photographed two, maybe three times together.
You really looked like you were having fun in those photos. Truthfully, you were, he was such a funny guy. He knew how to make fun of himself. You were just so tired of pretentious asses. It was refreshing. That’s why you said yes to a second and a third date. Then he was off to a European country to shoot his next movie. You had a fun and it was more than enough for you.
You precisely remember that tabloids started to talk about how perfect you two were for each other. God, that must have gotten under his skin. You can’t help but laugh. He’s so predictable. He just couldn’t bear to see you with someone else, but can you blame him?
You remember seeing something similar about him, but in that case, he wasn’t on a date with the girl. They were just working together for some lame-ass project he would normally despise. Maybe he was trying to keep himself busy, who knows? You remember so vividly how she was looking at him like she wanted to eat him up. As if that wasn’t enough, she kept praising him, calling him the best rockstar of the century just to get in his pants. You have no idea if it worked or not, but it was enough to make you feel jealous. So can you blame him for feeling the same?
It just makes you realize you want to listen to those songs again. It’s maybe too little too late but you still want to hear him. You wanted him to talk about his feelings for such a long time and he’s finally doing it. Through a song but still, he’s doing it. It isn’t exactly communicating because communication must be two-sided, right? That’s what was missing in your relationship. You were talking, pleading, trying while he was keeping everything in. You feel like the roles are reversed. Now he’s the one talking, pleading, and trying, and you just don’t know what to do. How the tables have turned.
The second time around, you notice other details you missed the first time. Like peaceful walks you took together whenever you had the time or how you always used fake names when you two traveled together. You can’t help but miss those days. Even though you had problems, being with him always felt so safe and peaceful. You have no idea how he managed to make you feel that way. Maybe that’s why it took you so long to end the relationship. You still miss the way you felt back then. As if you two could overcome anything together, yet you couldn’t. Because you didn’t work together. You were alone, struggling to make him talk.
Then he talks about how he still speaks to your friends, and that makes him miss you even more. That part surprises you because none of your friends mentioned that they were still seeing Bucky. Is that because you didn’t let them ever talk about him? You feared if you let yourself talk or think about him, you would go back to the point zero.
He ends the song saying he doesn't want you to be a distant memory, and this sticks with you. Do you want him to be a distant memory?
The second time you listen, you notice how desperate he sounds. The way he pleads doesn’t anger you anymore. You find something you feel in his words. Your own fears, your own selfishness and oh, how much you miss him. You didn’t let yourself admit that you miss him. You thought acting like he never existed, he was never a part of your life would make everything easier and it did. Just for a while. Lately, it was just a burden. You tried so hard to keep everything inside. Just like he did. You are still trying to do it… to act logically, not emotionally. Does it mean you are making the same mistake he did? Shutting yourself down, not talking about your feelings. Is it the solution or is it a part of the mistake? You can’t tell anymore. You just know that your heart is aching. The sound of his voice makes you want to cry.
God, you hate him so much!
How could he do this to you after all this time?
Is it that easy to get under your skin or was he always there?
You feel like you are about to explode because of all the emotions you are going through. On one hand, Bucky communicating with you is everything you wanted. On the other hand, isn’t it too late? And why did he write not one but two songs about you? Declaring his love to the world…
You repeat that last bit in your head. He’s declaring his love to the world.
He’s no longer afraid to talk about his emotions. He wants you to hear them, millions of other people are just the bonus. He’s not afraid to show how fucking miserable he feels. He just wants you back.
He’s doing his bit in communicating, but unless you don’t do something about it, it won’t matter. It will be another attempt in vain. You aren’t sure if you want to repeat the same pattern. You notice the song is over when your phone chimes. It’s your best friend again.
>> Did you listen?
<< Yeah.
>> How are you feeling?
<< Confused.
<< Are you still talking to him?
>> Yeah we all are.
<< Why didn’t you tell me that?
>> You said you didn’t wanna hear anything about him and we just respected your decision.
Just like you thought. You can’t blame them. Anytime someone mentioned anything remotely related to Bucky, you either changed the subject or found a reason to leave. So you can’t help but wonder…
<< How is he doing?
>> Not great. He misses you.
<< I miss him too.
>> Are you gonna call him?
You look at the message for a long minute. Are you gonna call him? That’s the question. Maybe you should. Maybe you shouldn’t. Both of the options sound equally wrong. You have no idea what to do.
<< I don’t know what to do.
>> Just give him a call. He’s the love of your life.
You have no idea how long you have looked at that text. Maybe for a couple of minutes, maybe for an hour.
He’s the love of your life.
He’s a bastard, but he really is the love of your life.
And you are the love of his life.
Where do you go from here? You look at your phone once again. You finally know what to do.

YN rubbed her tired eyes and got up from her bed when she heard tapping on her bedroom window. she knew it was her best friend, harry.
they were on the phone when he noticed that she sounded off. he asked her what was wrong, and she brushed it off and told him that she just had a cough, but he didn’t believe her. he told her he was on his way, and before YN could stop him, he hung up.
YN unlocked her window and opened it, revealing harry standing in the tree that they used to climb all the time when they were younger, and the one that he still uses to this day to sneak into her room during times like this.
“you didn’t have to come.” she spoke weakly, stepping to the side so he could come in, “you’ll get sick.”
“i’ll be fine.” harry shrugged and closed the window, locking it as well.
“no you won’t. i feel horrible.” she laid back down in her bed and pinched her eyes shut as her head began pounding.
YN had been getting up and running to her bathroom at least once an hour to throw up, she’s been coughing nonstop, her nose is stuffy, and she just feels absolutely terrible.
“harry, i’m serious. i’ve been throwing up for hours. you don’t want to risk getting whatever i have.”
“YN,” he began, his tone stern as he sat next to her on the bed, his feet hanging off the side while he took his shoes off. “i’m not leaving. if i get sick, which i probably won’t, i’ll be okay. i want to be here with you right now. i know you’d do the same if it were me. so stop being so stubborn and let me take care of you.”
she sighed and stayed silent, not having the energy to fight him on this much longer, until she heard the sound of a medicine bottle opening. she cracked an eye open, and saw harry pouring two pills into his hand.
“you got me medicine?”
“mhm.” he handed her the pills and opened a water bottle for her.
YN took the pills from him, popped them into her mouth, and downed the water. “thank you.” she muttered, her voice weak.
harry sat next to her on the bed, his eyes fixed on her. “you look awful,” he said, his tone both concerned and teasing.
“i feel awful.” she replied.
harry chuckled softly and brushed some of her hair away from her forehead. “you have always been a terrible liar, you know that, right?” he teased, referring to when she told him that she only had a cough.
YN grumbled in response, not having the strength to come up with a comeback. she could feel the medicine starting to kick in, her headache beginning to subside.
harry scooted closer to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to his side.
she leaned into him, appreciating the comfort his presence brought.
“you didn’t have to come.” she mumbled, knowing there was no point in arguing anymore.
“you already said that.” he said quietly, his fingers tracing light patterns on her arm.
YN closed her eyes, feeling exhaustion take over her body as the medicine continued to relieve her headache.
“you should sleep,” harry told her, his grip on her shoulder tightening slightly.
“mhm,” she hummed in agreement, her eyelids feeling heavier with each passing second.
harry pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, his lips lingering on her skin for a few moments. “get some rest,” he whispered, his fingers combing through her hair.
YN mumbled something incoherent in response, already beginning to doze off.
harry smiled to himself, watching as she drifted further into sleep. he shifted his position, settling back further against her headboard as he got comfortable.
he sat silently next to her and stared at the ceiling, listening to her soft breathing as she slept. he could feel her warm body pressed up against him, the rise and fall of her chest, the faintest movement of her fingers on his leg. all of these things reminded him how much he cared for her. how much he loved her.
harry looked back down at YN, still asleep. he leaned down and placed another soft kiss on her forehead, savoring the feeling of her skin against his lips. he then positioned himself more comfortably, closed his eyes, and began to drift off to sleep himself.

Fourteen | Series Masterlist | Epilogue
A/N 2: actually….after some sleep and some very fair and generous feedback I’m going to pop an epilogue on this guy. I can’t say goodbye to these three.
The front windows were dark, but as he pushed open the door he could hear the soft murmurs of Ellie and Tommy, felt along the corridor to the back room where they sat, huddled over a lantern, a loose blanket over Ellie’s shoulders. They stilled when he came in, Ellie giving him the once over.
‘Where is she?’ Joel murmured, his voice rough from the cold.
‘Put her upstairs, she was dead on ‘er feet,’ Tommy said. He watched the furrow of Joel’s brow lessen only slightly. I wrapped her up tight and warm, brother,’ he said, grinning a little.
‘She spent all day with her,’ Ellie explained, her face impassive but the venom behind the word. ‘She deserved a rest.’
Joel nodded, considering this. He wanted to head up the stairs and stick his head in, check that you were warm enough, that you were still there. Tommy watched as Joel clenched and unclenched his fist.
‘Where is she?’ Tommy asked, and Joel quickly shook his head.
‘Didn’t find her, she took the horse and the gun. But I got the third one, brought it back here, put it in the garage with the others.’
‘We’ll have enough to get back, easy,’ Tommy calculated, and Joel agreed. He gazed back at Ellie, saw the way she was staring down at the tabletop as if it had secrets printed in the wood.
‘I might hit the hay,’ Tommy said, standing quietly and, catching Joel’s eye, nodding towards Ellie. ‘I’ll check in on Teach, make sure she’s restin’ easy.’
Joel’s shoulders finally fell, some of the tension leaking out of him. Suddenly he was so tired, his bones aching in the cold. He wavered a little as Tommy practically shouldered him into the chair beside Ellie, who watched him sit. In the lamplight her pale skin glowed, ethereal.
For a moment the two sat in silence, listening as Tommy’s footfalls quieted up the stairs.
‘M’sorry-‘
‘-sorry,’ Ellie said at the same time, the two of them stopping to smile nervously at the other.
‘What you sorry for, kiddo?’ Joel asked, reaching up to rub at his shoulder, the band of muscles tight all the way up to his jaw.
‘Comin’ out here, believing Shauna. Then Teach coming out, nearly getting…’
‘Stop,’ Joel said, moving forward to rest his hand on Ellie’s, turning it palm-up and gripping it. ‘This is on me, all of it. I wasn’t thinking straight.’
‘I heard what you said,’ Ellie said, her eyes still cast down. ‘This morning, that you thought I shouldn’t see Teach anymore. That I should spend more time with Shauna.’
Joel felt heat on his cheeks, a bubbling of something ugly and accusing in his belly.
‘I was trying to…keep the peace.’ He watched as Ellie scoffed, withdrawing her hand from him. ‘I was wrong,’ he said, quickly, hoping to catch her before she retreated from him entirely. ‘I was…weak. I was scared, I dunno. I shouldn’t have let her…’
At this, Joel trailed off. He wasn’t sure where to start, where exactly it had all truly begun. Was it when she pushed Ellie out into the studio? Was it when she essentially forced the Town Council to execute Steve and Wren? Was it when she arrived at the gates, injured and scared, having apparently scorched the earth here and running out of bridges to burn?
Was it when she left, the first time. When it was just him and Sarah, and he did his best not to show the anger, the hurt, for what he thought at the time was the sake of his little girl. Let her go on believin’ her mama might come back, let her go on leavin’ presents under the Christmas tree even years later. Didn’t really tell her what was goin’ on, just let her guess. Let her believe her mama might one day come for her, because he was too chicken shit to tell her the truth: Shauna never loved either of them, never had any capacity for love other than when it served her.
And he’d let her do it, let her leave and come back just to repeat the same shit twenty-five years later. Knew all that she was, knew what she was capable of, and kept her secrets just the same.
‘I should have protected you from her, and what she was doing…but I didn’t let myself see it, because I wasn’t strong enough to believe it for m’self,’ he said, eventually. He watched Ellie’s eyes go wide.
‘Woah,’ she muttered, and for a moment he just stared at her, the entirety of his circulatory system on display, his skin fleyed away. ‘That’s some serious honesty, man,’ she said, and then grinned at him. ‘Proud of you.’
Joel felt relief swirl light and cool in his belly, a huffed out little laugh escaping him.
‘Thank you, only took me a coupla decades,’ he said.
Ellie let her grin wane a little. ‘I thought I was gonna have to explain it to ya stupid ass,’ she said, and giggled with him.
Ellie rubbed at her eyes, the exhaustion suddenly plain on her face. Joel stilled, concern overtaking him.
‘Y’should sleep, Babygirl,’ he said, but Ellie was shaking her head.
‘Need to talk t’you,’ she said, shimmying her shoulders a little as if she could force the sleepiness off them.
Joel swallowed. ‘Wait…’ he said, because suddenly he was seeing visions of her telling him she wasn’t going back to Jackson, visions of her saying she was heading over the horizon to Salt Lake, to Washington, to some other QZ to try and find another nest of fireflies, a nightmare of her telling him she didn’t love him anymore after all that he did. ‘Wait, babygirl…I gotta tell you something,’ he said, watching her to make sure she’d let him.
She settled, uneasy, on her chair. Joel took a big breath. ‘When Shauna came back, and I first looked into her eyes, y’know what I saw?’
‘Sarah,’ Ellie said, easily, and Joel smiled a little. Of course she knew.
‘Yeah, Sarah.’
‘Y’told Tommy,’ Ellie said, casually throwing his younger brother under the bus, ‘and Tommy told me. I think he was worried I was mad at you.’
‘Are you?’
‘Yeah…but not for that part,’ she replied, with that honesty that could devastate him.
‘I kept her around, ignored all her shit, because…I felt like, I had to. I felt like Sarah was in there somewhere, like I could do her right somehow if I took in her mama.’
Ellie nodded, listening intently.
‘I was wrong, Babygirl,’ Joel said, his voice thickening under the strain of trying to get the words out before she abandoned him. ‘I see more of Sarah in you then I ever saw in those two eyes.’
Ellie blinked at him, reaching out to take Joel’s hand again, and he saw for the first time that it was trembling. He braced, took a breath. ‘See her in you when you’re givin’ me shit, when you make me eat m’breakfast…when you remind me to dress right for the cold. For so long I couldn’t even stand it, the way you reminded me of her.’
He swallowed. ‘The both of you…so smart, so funny. The way you do what’s right, always wanna do what’s right. Fix shit. Try to save people. Try to protect ‘em. She was like that. I loved that about her. I love that about you, too.’
He watched as Ellie’s eyes grew wet, mirroring his own. He wanted to reach up and wipe away the tear tracking down his cheek, but it would mean letting her go. ‘I saw you up there on that roof protectin’ Teach, trying to call them off ‘er.’ He tasted sour over the back of his throat, his heart beating wild in his chest, the image of you with your eyes shut tight wailing for them to come for you instead still seared onto the back of his eyelids. ‘Sarah was a smart girl, but that was brave, Babygirl. That was strong.’
He sucked in a breath, exhaling it long and slow out of his nose. ‘All this time I made you feel like you were matchin’ up to her, didn’t I?’ he asked, and his heart broke a little as she nodded. ‘You went out to that damn studio in the garage because you thought I didn’t need ya anymore, didn’t wantya now I had my old family back. Some of it, anyway.’ Again, Ellie nodded. Joel bit down on his bottom lip to stop it wobbling, wondering if he would draw blood. ‘I’ll never forgive m’self for making ya feel that way,’ he said. ‘Because she would have loved you, Babygirl. She woulda looked up t’ya, woulda done anythin’ she could to be a badass like her sister.’
At this, Ellie gasped, and Joel realised, for the first time, he’d said it out loud. Her sister.
‘Know I hurt ya, you and Teach.’ He had to remind himself not to grip her hand so hard he might break it, purposefully loosening his knuckles. ‘Just please…’ he said, a little gasped sob stopping him for a second. ‘Please…don’t give up on me.’
Ellie let his hand go, sliding back into the chair. Joel righted himself, wiping his face and mirroring her, trying to tamp down the panic washing up over the shore of his belly.
‘I don’t wanna stay in the studio,’ Ellie said, picking at the skin on her fingers.
‘You can come right back home…’ Joel agreed, but Ellie held her hand up to stop him and he trailed away. This was it. She was going to march off to meet her death on the side of some mountain, at the bottom of some ravine, at the end of a raider’s gun, and it would be as if he was the one that did it, slid the rocks out from under her feet, pushed her head under the water, pulled the trigger and painted her blood on the wall.
‘I want to stay with Teach,’ she rushed out, seeing that he was panicking, the way he was lifting his hand to his chest.
At this, Joel blinked, struggling to hear with one bad ear and the other full of blood and terror.
‘I…what?’ he asked.
‘I checked with her, she said it was OK if you said it was OK. She said…she could give me her spare room.’
Joel tried to digest this, tried not let the panic overtake him, the beast just behind his breastbone chanting under my roof, under my roof.
‘Did she?’ he asked, stupidly.
‘It’s not about…it’s not out of anger,’ Ellie said, her voice wavering a little. Later he would reflect on how hard this must have been for her, when he was able to assemble his thoughts into a line again. ‘I just…I need space. For a while. To get passed it all.’
‘You got space in the studio…’
‘Not there,’ she said, shaking her head. ‘Doesn’t feel right, now. Maybe one day but…now it just feels like that place is all about…her.’
He knew he couldn’t protest, knew he had no right to howl in anguish or fury at the idea. Even in the studio she’d been too far away, but now this…
But she was staying in Jackson. And you would care for her, like she was your own.
‘M’so sorry, Babygirl…’ he said, the weight of the day suddenly pressing on him. ‘You go wherever y’feel comfortable, I don’t want you to feel like ya can’t be…yourself, where you are.’ The guilt was heavy on his back, and he shifted in his seat to try and ease the pressure of it, failing almost immediately.
‘It won’t be forever…’ Ellie said, and he realised she was consoling him, something he never wanted her to be in the position to have to do.
‘No, you take as long as you need,’ he said. ‘I’ll be alright, will give me time to practice my guitar without…judgement,’ he said, mustering enough courage to wink a little on the last word just in the hope it would make her smile. To his relief, it did.
‘Can burn all the mac and cheese you want,’ she grinned.
‘Whole place will smell like burnt noodles 24 hours a day,’ he said, feigning pride and puffing out his chest. She giggled at this, and he felt some of it brush up against the sharp edges, debride some of the scorched flesh.
‘Listen, you and Teach…’ Ellie said, and he grimaced.
‘We don’t have to…’
‘You and Teach,’ Ellie repeated, talking over him, and he quieted immediately, ‘I don’t need to know details, but you nearly fucked that up too, man,’ she reported.
‘She hate me?’ he asked her, and Ellie pretended to think for a second before she shook her head.
‘Hate’s a strong word,’ she smiled, ‘but she and I talked and…I mean, I’m fine, but you gotta…’
‘I know I gotta,’ he said, raising his eyes to the ceiling, imagining you tucked up on a mattress made of sagging springs and rotting cotton.
‘She’s good for you,’ Ellie said, and Joel let his eyes snap back to her. ‘Before Shauna, and all of that…you were doin’ better. I could see it in you.’
Joel smiled at this, the fatigue pulling hard now at his shoulders. ‘She was a badass today,’ Ellie said, and Joel nodded.
‘She gave you her gun, huh?’ he asked, and Ellie nodded.
‘Tch…stupid,’ Joel muttered, pretending to disapprove, braced for the whack Ellie immediately sent his way.
For a moment they both stilled. ‘I dunno, she just…she feels so warm, y’know?’ Ellie said.
Joel nodded. All this time he’d been worried he would steal that very same warmth for himself, when you’d been trying to give it to him, willingly.
‘Yeah, I know,’ he agreed.
--
You woke with a gasp, the tattered curtains doing nothing to shield against the dawn. You squinted, your body wound tight like a spring, your mind racing to catch up. Ellie on the roof, Wren meandering towards you, then up in Joel’s arms, your face pressed into his neck as you whimpered. Your sense-memories kicked in before the images played in your mind, your heart thrumming against the walls of your chest while you fought to get your bearings.
Joel’s arms around you, holding you to him, up and into safety. Tight and strong. You could still feel them banded around your waist.
A soft little snore behind you made you freeze. You ran your hands under the blankets to feel the arms bracketing you, holding you again to him.
His warm breath pushed at the back of your neck, your legs tangled with his under the blankets. For a long moment you lay still, your eyes travelling passed the curtain to the vista beyond it, the snow-capped mountain where you had sent your gaze the night before, as you had prepared yourself to see Rose again, to be again with your parents. Knowing Ellie would be safe, to rest.
As the sun set last night over the trees, now the dawn broke across them. You let you a long breath you hadn’t known you’d been holding, felt the pull of the muscles under your jaw, a hot little tear threading its way down your cheek to the bare pillow beneath you.
‘Hey…’ you heard behind you, your little sniffles enough to wake such a light sleeper.
‘Sorry…’ you immediately started apologising, even as he turned you in his arms, pulled the blanket up over his shoulders and cocooned you in it, slipped his hand underneath your neck to cradle your head against the warmth of his skin. You gasped into him, feeling his pulse just beneath the skin as he pressed you to his throat.
‘Easy…easy…’ he whispered, and you sucked in a breath just to let it sob out of you.
‘M’sorry…’ you tried again, but he was having none of it, cooing to you with his lips to your brow, shushing you gently as you whimpered.
‘I thought I was going to…’ you stuttered, and he stilled, letting you get it out. ‘I was ready to, Joel. I was going to see Rose.’
He felt the weight of the words settle over his shoulders, felt the little tickle of heat behind his eyes.
‘Oh, my sweet girl,’ he whispered as you brought your hand to your face to shield yourself from him, from the sweetness of it, from the fault line emerging jagged and burning down your middle.
‘I got ready,’ you said, as he rolled to his back, pulling you with him and securing you fast to his chest. You cried into his neck, your face tucked away under his jaw.
‘No, not yet, baby,’ he cooed. ‘Not ready for that, yet.’
You felt the strength of his arms around you, the tightness of his hold, the tension in your muscles melting away under the press of him. Gradually you stilled, your gasping sobs simmering back into hiccupped little sniffles. Eventually you realised Joel had been speaking to you.
‘So brave…my smart, brave girl,’ he said, his mouth pressed again to your forehead. You closed your eyes, remembered the thundering of the horse as he rode to you, the world tilting as he pulled you to him, his whispered words as Tommy got Ellie off the roof.
Remembered the moment you saw her, had needed to pull her into your arms, to let your body feel her safe and sound, pressed her into your chest in the hope that your nervous system might finally start to believe.
You reached up and pushed your fingers through the buttonholes of Joel’s shirt, entwining yourself in him, weaving yourself into the fabric. You stilled as his hand came to rest on yours.
‘You found her, you got her back to me,’ he said, his voice thick. You raised your head and watched a tear track down his cheek. ‘Thank you, baby,’ he choked out.
The tear tracked a silver line down his skin, glowing in the light of the dawn. You pressed your lips to it, felt the moisture absorb into your skin, down into your bloodstream, where it mingled with yours.
‘She wants to live with me,’ you said, exhaustion pulling your head back down to rest on his cheek. ‘I won’t take her unless you say so.’
‘I know you’ll take good care of her,’ he said, earnest, to the peeling paint above your heads.
‘Do we go back to Jackson, now?’ you asked, your voice quiet.
‘I guess we do,’ Joel agreed, shifting his gaze to the window, eyeing up the cold. ‘Maybe when we’ve got the warmth of the day.’
You nodded, sniffling, still. You were hungry, and you were so tired, and you felt more exposed than you had in years, out beyond the walls. But Joel had you tucked up under his chin, wrapped in threadbare blankets on a lumpy mattress, and for the moment this was all you wanted, this moment to stretch out long and languid into the afternoon, this man beneath you and around you, before the world got so much harder all over again.
‘M’not ready to go back,’ you mumbled and he stilled, his hand suddenly gripping yours.
Panic seized him, commenced burrowing sharp claws into his chest. He knew he had hurt you, knew there was so much still to say, but he had thought Jackson was your home, had been yours before it had been his, and if either of you should choose to exile themselves due to the devastation he’d brought down upon you, it should surely be him.
‘…what?’ he gasped, letting his eyes track the blooming water stain in the ceiling to distract from the maw opening in his chest.
You raised your head to look at him properly, your tears dry on your cheeks. He gazed down at you, his heart beating so wildly in his chest he was sure you could hear it.
‘Please, Joel…’ you whispered, your eyes dropping to his lips as he felt them quiver. ‘I don’t want to go back to real life yet. I need to…I need…’
You trailed off, your cheeks pinking up in the gentle purple light breaking over the mountain.
He understood, then, pulling you up and over him so that he could properly crash his lips to yours. You reached up, pushing your fingers into his hair, feeling him shiver when you raked your nails over his scalp.
‘Oh, fuck…’ he whimpered into the cavern of your mouth, shifting his hips to seat you, straddled, above him.
‘Please…’ you whispered again, ‘I need to feel good.’
‘I know, baby, I know,’ he muttered, cradling you to him as he stripped your shirt from your body, peppering kisses over every inch of skin as he exposed it.
‘Need to feel you…’ you huffed, reaching down to pull his own shirt over his head, seeking out the heat of his skin, feeling the muscles taut and shivering as he hissed at your touch on him. His chest, so impossibly broad, marred with scars from years of conflict. His arms, so strong and firm when he circled you in them. His knuckles, split and pink from the cold, rough against your skin as you pressed them to your lips.
You felt the ache in your core, the sudden feeling of emptiness enough to have you keen into the air above your head.
‘Ssh…’ Joel whispered, reaching up to pull you back down to him, kissing you deep and slow to swallow your groans. ‘Need to be quiet, baby, can’t wake up the whole house.’
You nodded, concentrating hard to try and make sense of what he was saying to you, distracted as you were by his hard length now nestled between your thighs. You rolled your hips, pushing down on him just enough to elicit a gasp from him and you smiled, then, victorious. You watched the dimple on his right cheek emerge as gave you a lopsided grin. ‘Cheeky girl,’ he said, as you rolled again.
You kissed him again, tasting him in your mouth, grasping his bottom lip between your teeth. How many nights had you spent imagining his beneath you like this, writhing and groaning?
‘God, baby, so beautiful,’ he muttered, grasping at your hip and pushing his clothed cock up to your mound. ‘I was so selfish when I had you on that damn couch,’ he gritted out, taking a second to gasp and regain his ability to speak. ‘Just took from ya…’
He pushed one foot into the mattress as he flipped you, catching your yelp in his palm over your mouth as he positioned you underneath him, reaching down to pull your pants and your underwear off and down your legs.
‘Wanna give now, baby, just like you deserve,’ he promised as you let your eyes fall closed, his words a soothing balm over your frayed nerves.
You fumbled for his waistband, fumbling fingers in the way of his as you pulled at him. He grinned, removing his hand from over your mouth to slip the fabric free of his hips. You allowed yourself a single glance.
He was beautiful, like he’d been carved out of marble just for your eyes. His cock, hard and thrumming as it was, thick and almost purple he was so hard. You swallowed a moan, turning your head to sink your teeth into his forearm to keep yourself from making a sound. He let our a surprised laugh.
‘Been thinking about this pretty little cunt ever since I tasted her,’ he informed you, his eyes roaming over your body as you lay beneath him, panting and your chest red. He leant down, unable to resist, to slip a nipple between his lips and tugged gently at the bud between his teeth. Your hands automatically went to his hair, turning his curls over in your fingers as you whimpered above him. ‘This beautiful little cunt all spread open for me on that fuckin’ couch,’ he said, using his free hand to trace his way down your body to tease, gently, between your thighs. You felt his fingers trace your slit, gently ghosting up and down over the skin and you keened for him, rolled your hips as if you could grasp him and bring him into yourself through sheer force of will.
‘Thought about you…’ you confessed, suddenly emboldened by your overwhelming need for him, by the pulsing of your cunt so close to his touch. ‘About your mouth on me, about your fingers.’
‘Bout my cock?’ he asked, and you nodded, your eyes finding his as he slipped his fingertip to your clit, finding the little bundle of nerves straining for him. You gasped as he made tight little circles, played you like an instrument made just for his hands.
‘Oh…!’ you gasped as he descended, lay his body on you and captured your lips in a searing kiss. He kept his mouth clamped as he slid his fingers between your folds, his weight pressing you into the mattress and enrobing you in him. He bit back a groan as he explored you, felt your slick gathering at the peak of your thighs.
‘Please…’ you whimpered into his mouth, bring your face to the side to again bring your mouth to his bicep, whispering pleas into his skin. ‘Please, need you, please don’t tease me…’ you begged.
He shifted, settling between your thighs, watching your face as you opened your eyes to follow him as he moved above you.
‘God, baby…’ he said, and you nodded at him, agreeing wholeheartedly with all the things in this moment he couldn’t find the words to say.
Joel took a second to breathe, to record this moment in his mind, so unsure if he would ever get another one like it. He shook himself, sliding a shaking hand over his length and pushing to notch at your entrance.
He watched your face as he found his home in you. Saw the way your face relaxed, from saddled brows and gasping pleas to closed eyes, slack jaw, your mouth hanging open as he stretched you. He leant forward to take your chin in his hand, nibbling little kisses to your chin as he hitched your leg over his hips to sink himself in, deeper.
Heaven. Maybe he had died down on that street after all. He shivered as you raised your hands to his back, cradling him to you, your sweet little whimpers hot in his ear.
‘So big…’ you gasped, as he stole your lips in another kiss.
‘M’sorry, baby,’ he started, the pleasure running rampant over his brain stem, words suddenly bubbling up from deep inside. ‘M’so sorry, I just took…I just took…’ he said, sorrow melding with white hot joy. ‘Wanna give it all back, everythin’ anyone ever took from ya,’ he choked out, half out of his mind now, feeling a crack appearing in a long-held dam. ‘Wanna love you, baby, like you should be.’
You were gasping, taking fast, shallow breaths as he pushed impossibly deeper inside you, whimpering as tears gathered again on your cheeks.
‘Joel…’ you mewled, and he sobbed out your name to pair it.
‘Will never hurt you again,’ he promised, cradling your head in his hands as he went up on his elbows above you, kissed the tears where they ran. ‘Will only love you, baby, I promise. I promise.’
You fluttered around him, and he thought as long as he lived he’d never feel peace as this, never feel so at home as he was buried inside your beautiful, warm body.
He ground against you, his pubic bone pushed hard and unforgiving into your clit. You lifted your head to Joel’s shoulder, sinking your mouth into the muscle to stop yourself from crying out at the burning pleasure of it, the building ache.
‘I can’t…’ you whined, ‘I can’t hold it back, Joel…’
‘Don’t you dare hold it back, wanna see you come’ he gritted out, purposefully grinding harder on your clit just to watch your brows arch.
You shook your head. No, no, not that. Couldn’t hold the world back, couldn’t hold back the encroaching dark. Couldn’t hold the love back, rushing up to meet you as you crashed, as you fell all the way down.
You took his face in your hands, desperate to get him to understand. He dipped his hips, his pace slowing as he ground deeper into you, his eyes searching yours. You shook your head again, scared to speak lest you let it all go.
You knew after this it wasn’t going to be easy. That after this there would be hard conversations, long-healing wounds. That after this the sharp edges would reappear, the hardness of the world encroaching again. But in this moment, Joel nestled deep inside you, his skin between your teeth and his arms wrapped so tight against you. In this moment you were safe, in this moment the cold and the darkness could never get to you. In this moment your salvation and your forgiveness, in this moment your acceptance of his flaws and of yours. In this moment, well beyond the walls to protect you, freer than you had ever been.
You couldn’t contain it. The tremorous fear, the scorch of it, the aching. Couldn’t let it go, terrified to let it consume you.
You watched realisation dawn across his face.
‘Oh baby, I know,’ he said, resting his forehead on yours as he felt the wildfire begin at the base of his spine. ‘S’OK, baby,’ he assured you as you writhed beneath him. ‘We’ll go together, we’ll go together, my sweet girl.’
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
No one in Jackson had a lot of stuff, so Ellie fit quite nicely into your spare bedroom, and into your life. As soon as she’d settled into her new space you settled into your new routine of waking her in the morning, ignoring her grumbling, making her eat some oats or some toast and packing her off to walk with you to school. Of an afternoon she’d go off with Dina or her group of steadily solidifying friends, returning to your doorstep for dinner just as the sun dipped low over the horizon.
Some nights she’d help you cook, cutting the potatoes with a steady hand, her concentration poking her tongue out of the corner of her mouth. Other days you would send her down to the mess hall to bring back something, holding the leftovers in the fridge for the morning.
Before bed you’d get her to read to you for a little bit, and her pompous English accent was coming along. It had worked especially well for Persuasion, but less so for The Great Gatsby.
‘I don’t see what was so great about this Gatsby guy,’ she proclaimed, screwing up her face in distaste.
‘Mmm,’ you agreed, non-committal. ‘Let’s see how that plays out.’
You kept telling yourself she was your roommate, so you resisted the urge to tutor her, to parent her, in the times when you weren’t at school. You had stumbled upon a somewhat motivating phrase one afternoon when she was feeling restless, talking about sneaking Dina out of her house past curfew to go and hang out with some of the younger patrolmen behind the Bison, asking her with a patient tone ‘What would Joel say?’. She’d stayed tucked up in bed that night, and every night the rest of that week.
And some afternoons you knew that she left school and went to stand on the wall with him, chatting to him and keeping him entertained until his shift was over and she came back home. You resisted the urge to ask about him, wanting to give her the time with him, to give yourself the time just the same.
When you’d returned to Jackson you hadn’t had to ask him, knew that he sensed it anyway, in that way that he had. You cooled things off with Jonah, kept your head down thinking about the next year’s curriculum, considering whether you could safely incorporate some kind of field trips beyond the wall so the kids could be safe if they ever got stuck out there. The Town Council were considering the idea, even though Billy wasn’t keen.
And you kept clear of Joel, letting the wound settle a little before you poked it, parts of your life still feeling purple and bruised where he had been. Sometimes you and Rose discussed it of a nighttime, and you were surprised to find she was on your side. She counselled not guarding your heart too closely, when the time was right that you felt you could let him in. When you were ready. Until then, you knew he was there.
--
Joel worked the wall, his eyes on the horizon and on the streets beneath him. If he got up early enough, started his shift a little early, he could be up in time to see you and Ellie make your morning pilgrimage to your little schoolhouse on the hill. He wouldn’t feel settled until he saw it, your two figures disappearing around the corner, wrapped up against the cold.
He filled his time. He was getting better at guitar, remembering some old tunes he hadn’t thought of for a long time, some of Sarah’s favourites if he remembered properly. Of a nighttime he would come down off the wall and make his way to Tommy’s, have a quick bite for dinner and head back home before Robin got too grizzly. He probably wouldn’t ever be able to tell him, but he was proud of the father Tommy was becoming, of the leaders he and Maria were for Jackson. He’d never be able to say how grateful he was to his brother for helping him secure this second chance.
And then there were his favourite afternoons, the ones where Ellie would amble down the hill just as the light started fading, vault up the ladder and keep him company ‘til shift change. The first time she’d done it he’d stood, his hands in his pockets and almost too scared to turn to her, keeping his back stiff and upright looking out over the treeline. She’d settled beside him, resting against a pillar and gazing out and up over the mountain. She hadn’t said anything of any consequence, nothing of any meaning, her presence there just enough for him.
The second time he’d asked her if she liked her new place and she agreed that she did, even though you were always trying to teach her things. He grinned at that, his mind conjuring up an image of you, exasperated, trying to make Ellie concentrate on a twenty-year old textbook.
‘She makes me do the accents,’ Ellie complained to him, and he huffed out a laugh into the grimy light of the late afternoon.
‘I know you well enough to know no-one can make you do anythin’, kiddo,’ he deadpanned and watched as the blush spread over her cheeks.
‘Next week we’re starting our new unit,’ she informed him, and his ears perked up at this.
‘Yeah, what she gotcha doing?’ he asked.
‘The Middle Evils,’ Ellie replied, and Joel grinned, not correcting her. That was a battle you could fight just fine on yer own.
After Ellie disappeared down your street for dinner he contemplated following her, seeing if you’d let him in. He held himself back, knowing that was selfish, that he needed to be patient for you. That he’d earned this penance, this atonement. Knew that he would wait for you, until the world’s very last dawn, even if he secretly hoped it would be sooner than that. Until then, he knew you were there.
--
Ellie called out from the front door, pushing her boots off so as not to track in the snow.
‘There’s another one!’ she called, and you felt a little bubble of something in your chest.
‘What is it this time?’ you called back, your hands busy as you sat at the kitchen table.
‘It’s a guy…umm…he’s got a helmet on, and a little sword?’
You thought for a second.
‘A knight?’ you asked.
She entered the room, dropping the carefully carved figure on the table in front of you. He even had a little shield.
‘Were they like…the Middle Evil soldiers or something?’ Ellie asked and you sighed, having corrected her enough times to know she was now doing it on purpose.
‘Like…ancient FEDRA,’ you said, and she screwed up her nose.
‘Ugh, gross,’ she said. She settled beside you, picking up a coloured sheet of paper and a pair of scissors you’d borrowed from the seamstress in town.
Thoughtfully, she started cutting.
‘I saw him this time,’ she said, and you felt your hands shake a little as you made the final snip to your paper star.
‘He’s normally so sneaky,’ you said, and she huffed in agreement.
‘I think maybe he wanted to be seen,’ Ellie said, matter-of-factly.
‘What makes you say that?’ you asked, but Ellie didn’t answer, now fully engrossed in cutting the stars. You were giving Prom another go, hoping for no further interruptions this time. The theme was Winter Wonderland, which just so happened to necessitate the triumphant return of Ellie’s decorational genius.
‘I wondered about inviting him in,’ she said, after a while.
‘Is he good with scissors?’ you asked, trying to massage some feeling back into your hand.
‘One way to find out,’ Ellie said. You saw her watching you, carefully, out of the corner of your eye.
‘You think you’re ready for that?’ you asked her, and she levelled you with an honest gaze.
‘I am if you are,’ she said. You felt a little flip in your stomach, a traitorous little spark of something that could have been excitement, could have been fear.
‘Umm…’ you said. Out of the corner of your eye Rose smiled warmly at you, nodding slowly, always so kind, so calm. You'd try to be more like her.
‘I mean, there’s still so many of these to cut,’ you said, after a while. Ellie grinned, jumping up from the table and down the hall, flinging the door open hard enough to whack it into the wall.
Not for the first time, Ellie’s enormous voice rang out, clear as a bell and knocking the wind from you.
‘COME IN, JOEL! SHE SAID YES!’ she called.

𝑸𝑼𝑰𝑬𝑻 𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑭𝑶𝑹𝑻
Tumblr media
Author's Note: i wrote this because my sneakers got wet on the way to class yesterday
Contents: like 2 sex jokes and y/n being miserable and cold
Word Count: 1611
Summary: You're cold, and wet, and you just want to be warm. Shigaraki decides he wants to help with that.
Tumblr media
Your feet were wet. Actually, it was only the toes on your right foot, so you couldn’t even be miserable in symmetry. This only made you more miserable, coupled with the fact that it was pissing rain, and windy, and you had only a sodden, once-fuzzy jacket to protect you from the elements that had long since stopped being useful. Honestly, you thought it would be more helpful if you took it off and held it over your head, but then you would be losing a layer of semi-warmth against the wind.
And now your other foot was wet and cold, and you took a minute to stop, self-pitying, and look down at your own sneakered self. Just for a minute, you mourned your comfort, jeans wet around your ankles and thought about what you would give to be curled up back at home base with the one pair of fuzzy socks you own and a warm drink. Just a few more blocks, you encouraged yourself, and you’d be in the more sheltered environment of the base that Shigaraki had decided to keep the League in for now. You could only hope there weren’t holes in the roof that had gone unnoticed until now.
With water squishing uncomfortably out your shoes, you picked up the pace and hurried the last few blocks to the abandoned shop that you had grown to call your temporary home. The back door was shoved open with relative ease, the hinges sticky and crusted with rot and rust long before your little rag-tag group of villains had commandeered. You closed the door behind you, the wood swollen with rainwater and scraping across the floor in a way that always has made your skin crawl and always will. You stood there for a moment, shivering and dripping wet and standing in an ever-growing puddle. You had heard muffled voices when you first walked in, but now it was silent in the hallway, until Toga popped her head around the corner of the main room, and saw you, lighting up.
“You’re back!” She cheered, rushing forward to hug you only to change her mind and skid to a halt right in front of you. “You’re soaked, babes!”
“Yeah, I know,” you grumbled dryly. You peeled your soaked jacket off of you and dropped it where you stood, not caring if anyone would trip over it. You’d pick it up later. “It’s raining.”
“Should have brought an umbrella!” Toga said, rather unhelpfully if you were to give your input, but she grabbed your hand anyway and dragged you into the main room.
It was mostly empty, you noticed, with only Kurogiri working behind the bar, and Shigaraki sitting in the one leftover armchair that had been there upon arrival a few weeks ago.
The whole building had been some sort of cozy bookshop slash coffee shop cafe thing that had been stripped bare months earlier, empty glass shelves creating a rainbow of a maze when the sun hit just right. Right now, though, they were just sad and a clear blue-grey, refracting Kurogiri as he wiped down the counter. It made you wonder if he was doing it for a lack of something else to do.
“You’re making a mess on the floor,” Shigaraki pointed out, barely looking up from a slip of paper he was turning over in his fingers.
“I know,” you forced out through gritted teeth, shaking one pathetically wet sweater paw.
“Should’ve taken an umbrella.”
“I know.”
Toga looked between the two of you, caught up in the testy conversation involuntarily. She knew about your interesting relationship with the fearsome leader, and you doubted she wanted to get in between whatever spat the two of you were having. She looked a little nervous, and you sighed, letting your shoulders drop with the tension in the room. “I’m gonna go take a shower.”
Nobody gave any sign of having heard you, despite the dead silence in the room. With one last glance around, you trudged upstairs, leaving a trail of water on each step. You’d mop up later, right now you wanted a hot shower and to be out of the sticky, cold clothes you were in. As you left, you could feel someone’s eyes burning holes into your back, but you didn’t turn around to check whose.
The cafe slash bookstore used to have a studio apartment above it, which you suspected was half the reason Shigaraki chose this place, because there was a bedroom and a small kitchen and a bathroom all crammed into the upstairs space of the shop. It didn’t exactly make for comfortable living arrangements, but it had working plumbing and an old mattress on the floor that you all took turns on every night. Since the only other people at the hideout were downstairs, you had the whole upstairs apartment to yourself as you shlepped off each article of water-logged clothing, and left it all in a pile on the bathroom floor. You’d deal with it later, after you were warmed up once more.
Steam quickly filled the itty bitty corner that could barely be called a bathroom, hot and cloying, and it thankfully stopped your incessant shivering. The hot water helped ward off the chill even more, and by the time you were done scrubbing your body with shampoo (since the bathroom was so small, and travelling light was an essential to being a League member, it had been unceremoniously dumped on everyone that there would only be one shower product - shampoo. There was a lot of complaining, mostly from you, Toga, Magne, and surprisingly Dabi even spoke up, to which Shigaraki had snarled, “if you want your fru-fru shit that bad, get it yourself.” That had squashed any whinging, although a few days later, an antibacterial body wash had appeared in one corner of the shower with the name “DABI” scrawled all over it in black ink. To be honest, the shampoo wasn’t even that bad to use as body wash. Things could have been worse - you could have been handed a communal bar of Irish Spring and been told to “deal”. So yeah, you couldn’t really complain.) you felt immensely better. No longer on the verge of catching your death of a cold.
Stepping out of the shower was another atrocity to add to your list for the day, but you knew if you stayed in you would get pruney, so you shut the water off and yanked your towel off the rack. It was warm and fluffy, thankfully, and when you pulled back the shower curtain, you were thankful you had grabbed the towel before doing anything else.
Shigaraki was sitting on the toilet.
More accurately, he was sitting on the lid of the toilet, pants not around his ankles or in any other compromising position, but it still scared the shit out of you, pun not intended. You yelped in response, a little delayed, and glared at him.
“God, what?”
He stayed quiet for a long time, long enough that you decided to actually get out of the shower and start drying your hair. When he spoke up, it startled you because you had already just kind of accepted the fact that he was going to simply sit there and watch you.
“You were cold, when you came in.”
You jumped. “Yes, thank you, Captain Obvious.”
“Brat,” he sneered. It was quiet for another moment. “Do you feel better now?”
“Mildly.” You were still chilly, it would take a while for you to be fully warm and cozy again.
You finished drying your hair, one hand still gripping the towel for dear life, and gave Shigaraki one last confused glance (because he still hadn’t said anything) before you walked your happy ass to the communal closet where everyone had shoved their clothing. It took several minutes of rummaging, but you eventually found underwear you knew was yours, and pants and a shirt you thought were yours, and socks you knew for sure belonged to Compress due to their fluffiness, and pulled it all on, sighing in relief as you were finally encompassed in warmth for the first time since you had stepped outside that morning. You heard a creak from behind you, and you turned around to see Shigaraki had followed you again.
“Do you need something?” You asked bluntly, roughly shoving your arm through your last sleeve.
Shigaraki only grunted in response, and grabbed your wrist with four careful fingers. You let out a confused noise of protest, but you didn’t struggle against him as he pulled you in the direction of the mattress on the floor. He wouldn’t hurt you, he never has. And he was especially careful with your wrist in his grasp when he sat on said mattress, pulling you down with him to… cuddle.
It took several minutes of shuffling around, but eventually the both of you were curled up in a little ball in the middle of the bare padding. Shigaraki’s nose was pressed into the junction where your neck and collarbones met, his breath coming out in soft puffs against your skin. Legs tangled together, arms wrapped tightly around each other, you finally felt warm.
Tumblr media
Bonus Scene:
“I knew you had a soft spot for me,” you mumbled into his soft hair.
Shigaraki hummed, and then spoke up. “Yeah, well, can’t have you freezing your tits off if you’re going to be choking on my dick later later.”
“Fuck you.”
“That’s what I’m trying to do.”
You scoffed, but you didn’t shove him away or try to get away. “You’re so nasty.”
“You like it,” Shigaraki said smugly.
He was right, unfortunately.

I FORGOT TO ADD TAGS 😭😭😭
➷➹➷
The mysterious man showed up out of nowhere, which honestly startled you and your father. He showed up in an armadillo bus that was way out of whack. You were an only child and a quiet one at that. So from a distance, your dad told you to be his danger surveillance.
Upon further examination, you managed to grip your dad's shirt and send him a message that the strange man needed help. With his kindest heart, he goes to lend a hand to him.
You never understood how your father can comprehend what you're saying, you’ve been mute since birth. Nobody knew why, but you just haven’t spoken a word. In fact, your first “word” was you writing on a piece of paper for the first time.
When your dad came back, all he did was make another plate of food and walk out. This time you watched, and paid close attention. Your dad gave the man food and that’s when you realized. He wasn’t a man at all! He seemed to be around your age. It was strangely exciting to see.
You pulled away from the window and sat down to finish your food. You then heard your dad reenter and he mentioned nothing of the exchange, but you didn’t care. It was your dad, he was almost just as quiet as you were.
⏠⏡⏠⏡⏠⏡⏠⏡⏠
Then a year went by, and your dad made sure to take care of you just right. You were a bit older now, and a bit taller. Your little small town was growing smaller with each passing day, and now you knew everything like the back of your hand. However, a certain someone didn’t.
You walk out of your home to begin delivering your dad’s trinkets around town. Use your roller skates to travel from door to door. Handing in tiny things like keychains, dream catchers, or even shoelaces. Your dad was quite the tinker.
Then your heart dropped when you realized you’d have to give food to the armadillo bus inhabitant. So you rolled in front of his bus and pet the lovely creature a few times, before anxiously heading toward the door.
It only took a few knocks when suddenly out popped a guy wearing goggles and a jacket far too thick for the summertime. You handed him his trinket. Which was a keychain with the word “BROZONE” across the small crocheted add-on.
You were about to leave when his voice cut through the silence. “Woah! This looks even cooler than I thought it would! Thanks!” He grins at you, expecting a response, but when silence follows he pushes his goggles onto his head. “Uh…did I come across too strong there? Or are you stunned into silence because you’re looking at a former member of Brozone?”
Your social ticking time bomb was ticking, it was a common small-town rule to not talk to you because you’d start crying or something, but this is new. This is just discomfort. His words turned to mumbles as you began to go on autopilot.
Suddenly a hand touches your shoulders. A billion thoughts run through your head, you look up at him and see his face coming closer. Instincts kick in and you wind up punching him in the face. Straight knock out right hook into the nose.
The crack made you snap back into reality. He’s on the ground, groaning in pain. you don’t like consequences. So instantaneously, who does? So You run off. Your feet pitter-patter in the ground below, scared of what your father would do if you found out.
You hide away after that moment, your dad did find out, but geez did he find it funny. That was the first time you’d heard him laugh in ages. So he put the shop on hold and decided to teach you how to make trinkets instead. So that event never happens again.

You were in your mid-20s when you started delivering again. However, you made an effort to avoid the armadillo bus with all your being. However, you caught glimpses of Bus-man looking out at you while you worked. Your nerves nearly get the best of you every time you catch it.
When the end of the day came around the corner you made it home and sat on your porch swing. You swung until the sun went down, but in the meantime, you were looking ahead, then caught sight of the man lazily sitting outside too. But when he caught sight of you he suddenly puffed out his chest and grinned. Wiggling his eyebrows.
You shot him a weird look and looked away. What was that? Was he…flirting with you? You punched him in the face! Why was he flirting? After about an hour you felt something hit your shoulder. When you looked, it was a crude paper ball, you opened it. It said: “My name is JD, John, the leader, John Dory, what's yours?”
You laughed when you saw the crossed-off names, you pulled a pencil out of your hair and wrote your name on the paper. You looked up and looked around. Eyes closed in on him as he tried to act natural. You smirked and threw it back at him, hitting him in the head. You gasped and looked away. Your cheeks become red like fire.
The game of toss continued. You and him having a nice conversation about flowers. Which led to him calling you Buttercup. You didn't know why this made you blush, but a nickname was new for you.
Eventually, you told him goodnight and waved to him. He waved too, but you could've sword-he punched the air in excitement before going inside.
It became routine. Every night you two would be outside neighbors, talking to one another on paper. You’d share one fact about yourself, and he'd share several. He was far more open than you were, and he was fine with it.
Until one night it came to the subject of verbal communication.
You explained to him your situation and he started asking so many questions. It made you sort of uncomfortable. Then in a shocking turn of events, he changed the subject to something debatably worse.
“Why did you punch me?”
Your eyes widened and you turned red again. You heard his loud boisterous laughter at your reaction and you felt a knot tie in your stomach. Your heart fluttered and all your hairs stood on end. What was going on?
He then yells out to you, as his first time communicating verbally. “It's alright buttercup! I forgive you!” His grin was infectious, leaving you wanting to see it more often.

When you started visiting his bus, the two of you became inseparable. Seeing as you were nonverbal you'd usually listen to him spout pure nonsense half the time. Sometimes he'd just break out into song.
Your favorite nights are when he'd break into song and ask you to dance with him. You'd always decline. Which always disappointed him but he was just fine dancing all by his lonesome.
“Baby! I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey!” he'd fall to his knees and outstretched his arms to you “come on! Ooh, the more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah!” he’d continue singing even as you shook your head.
When he kept dancing, on rare occasions you giggled, very quietly. He'd catch it and make a big deal out of it, causing you to blush and quietly giggle yourself into oblivion.
He'd leave you alone for a while, eventually getting back to telling stories. You explored the but a little while he spoke, he watched you, explaining some messes and creating excuses for others. That is until you stopped in a corner, picking up a vinyl. John shot up. Stumbling over to you.
“That uh. That's-” you looked at him and raised an eyebrow. Which may have been the first time he understood what you were saying without you writing on a piece of paper.
He sighed heavily and slumped onto the couch “it’s a pretty boring story.” he huffed out a laugh, crossing his arms as he leaned into the corner of his couch. “You wouldn't like it.”
You frowned, carrying the vinyl over to him. You sat down beside him and looked him in the eyes. Silently asking him to go on, when your hand landed on his knee. He looked at your hand then at you. “Well buckle up because this is gonna be a long one.”
He tells you everything, you don't flinch, make a face, nor do you judge. His story is depressing. He seems so angry and frustrated about it. Something about the way he talks about his brothers made you want to hug him and comfort him with every bone in your body.
His anger rises as he reaches the end. His nose flaring and his eyes widened. “I just wanted us to be great! To be the best boyband there ever was but no! They kept complaining and-” he was cut off by the look you were giving him. His breath hitched at the sight of your eyes so sincere and caring, it was different for him.
He tore his eyes away and crossed his arms. “I just wish. I just wish we were still brothers.” you gripped his hand squeezing it tight and he seemed to get the message. “I know I know. They're my brothers whether they like it or not.”
You nodded, running your fingers through his tall hair then looking him in the eye. There was a moment of clarity there. Your cheeks turned 6 shades of red, when his eyes snapped lower on your face. You stood up and took a deep breath. You awkwardly pointed at the door. A shy smile on your face as you gravitated to the bus door.
You felt bad at the look of disappointment he had, but also you were still friends at this point. You couldn't ruin that. Not because you would hate being with him, but it's too good to lose. His expression changed back to his regular one and he stood up to help you out.
“After you M’lady Buttercup,”
You rolled your eyes, but stopped for a minute to look at him, thinking about what you should do. In your fear and anxiety. You waved him goodbye. Leaving him wanting much more from you.

Long Day- Gabriel x Reader
Summary: After a stressful day, a familiar face pops in for a visit. With snacks.
Warnings: None! GN!Reader, no use of Y/N
Word Count: 1.4k
A/N: Thanks so much for this request AAH!! I hope you don’t mind that I wrote this as gn instead of speificially male reader! I’m so glad you requested Gabriel, he is literally my pookie and I have been waiting to write him. Thanks for being patient, I really hope you enjoy <333
Work sucked today.
In all honesty, a lot of things sucked today. Your alarm didn’t go off in the morning, so you were late getting out the door. You didn’t have time to eat breakfast, so you spent the first half of the day equally starving and exhausted. Your lunch wasn’t good, your coworkers were annoying, and your boss was on your ass all day long. So when the day was finally over, all you wanted to do was get home and mope.
As you entered your apartment, you let the door slam behind you in hopes it would shut the horrible day out with it. The noise echoed through the room before dissipating into the quiet space. Normally, you’d be quick to pop on some music or put something on the TV, if for nothing else but to fill the silence. However, today being the day that it had been, all you could do was throw your work bag down on the first surface you could find before flopping face-first into the couch.
With your head in the cushions, you channeled all the stress in your body into a long, low groan. The couch muffled the sound so much that if anyone had been in the room with you, they wouldn’t have been able to hear it. That didn’t stop Gabriel, who materialized in the room just as you finished letting out the noise of frustration.
“Well, that’s not the position I expected to find you in,” you heard him huff. The sound of wings had alerted you to his arrival, so you weren’t surprised when a sassy comment followed. Rather than responding verbally, and without lifting your head, you grabbed a couch cushion and sent it flying in his direction.
“Hey, what was that for?” You could practically see the expression on his face- the dramatic feigned offense you knew all too well. You rolled over so you could look at the archangel, letting half of your body hang over the edge of the couch lazily. Gabriel stood with a swagger in your living room, a familiar mischievous glint in his eyes that always left you guessing what antics he was up to. Usually, that was one of your favorite things about him. But today, you weren’t in the mood for his usual mayhem.
“Not now Gabe. I had the worst day ever.” You rubbed at your forehead as you spoke, attempting to dull the budding tension headache.
“Yeah, kid, I could tell by that growl. Why do you think I’m here?” He strolled across the room, casually plopping down next to you and kicking his feet up like he owned the place. As you sat up, suddenly conscious of the ungraceful way you were sprawled across the couch, he reached for the TV remote.
“What are you doing?” you asked, your voice coming out a little sharper than you intended.
“Whatcha wanna watch?” He didn’t even look over at you as he spoke, eyes locked on the screen.
“What do you mean?”
“Hmm… You seem a little down in the dumps, so do you want to watch something sad? Let it all out? The Notebook? Or we could do a comedy for a little pick-me-up. You know I love a good comedy. Have you seen-”
“Gabe, what’s going on?” you cut off his rambling, a bit confused by his actions. You knew angels pretty well at this point, enough to know that sitting down to watch a movie was not typical behavior. But here he was- the all-powerful archangel Gabriel, getting comfy on your couch as he scrolled through Netflix recommendations. He didn’t miss a beat in responding to your inquiry.
“You’re upset, I heard your prayer. I’m here to make you feel better. I even brought snacks!” He snapped his fingers and bowls of popcorn and candy appeared on your coffee table. You giggled a bit, in spite of yourself, but pressed on.
“But I didn’t even pray.”
The archangel huffed, his eyes pulling away from yours and settling on the ceiling as he thought for a moment.
“Look, kid. I care about you. I keep tabs. Sometimes, when your emotions are strong enough, I can hear them, even if they’re not quite a prayer. And whatever that noise was, it was loud. So we’re watching a movie and we’re having some snacks.”
You couldn’t help the smile that crept up onto your face- it was probably the only one that had been there all day. All his words were sweet, but you had gotten caught up pretty early on in his sentence- I care about you. Suddenly, a horrible day didn’t feel so bad.
“Alright. Let’s do it.”
Gabriel chose some stupid comedy movie he swore you had to see. As the opening credits began, he tossed the popcorn into your lap and settled the bowl of candy in his. There was silence for a while, save for the crunching of your snacks and the occasional giggle at a funny joke. As the plot of the movie developed, he reached across the couch in an attempt to grab a handful of popcorn.
“Come on, I can’t reach. You gotta scooch over here.”
You obliged, wiggling your way down the couch to get closer to him. At the same time, he scooched to meet you. Your legs bumped together, sending a few pieces of popcorn flying as you settled in the new proximity. It wouldn’t register in your mind until later, but the archangel never ate anything but candy. There was no reason he needed to be able to reach the popcorn- no reason besides his desire to be closer to you, and his fear of telling you that outright.
As the plot thickened, the two of you lingered in your position side by side. Your shoulders would brush together as you reached for the snacks, sending a buzz of nerves through your body each time. You locked your eyes on the movie and willed the blush away from your cheeks, but you could feel it creep back up each time you caught him looking at you out of the corner of your eye.
If there was one thing about the archangel-turned-trickster, it was that he had a good sense of humor. This movie was funny, you had to admit. Between the laughs from the jokes (both the movie's and Gabe’s), the satisfaction from the snacks, and the butterflies from being close to him, you were starting to feel the day’s stress melt away. He really knew what he was doing.
When a particular joke really got you, you threw yourself forward in a belly laugh. Too caught up in the humor of it, you completely missed what was happening behind you, until you leaned back into your seat and felt an arm settle across your shoulders. You eyed Gabriel suspiciously.
“What? Just getting comfortable, sugar.”
Suppressing the nerves the increased contact triggered, you shifted so you were snuggled into his side. The second his arm reached the rest of the way around your shoulder, finding its way to the skin of your arm to draw soft circles, any worry that was left in your body finally washed away. This was seriously bliss. Your breathing slowed and deepened, officially dragging your body out of the fight-or-flight mode it had been trapped in all day. Every muscle in your body relaxed as you reveled in the chance to be this close to the archangel.
This movie was long. In your state of relaxation, you were finding it harder and harder to pay attention to the movie, instead inching closer to sleep by the second. When Gabriel peeked down at you, watching your eyes flutter shut, he couldn’t help but smile. He pressed a careful kiss to your forehead, sealing the deal and sending you drifting off into a dream.
When you woke, hours later, it took a second for you to register where you were. Blinking your eyes open, you found yourself in your bed, down the hall from where you had fallen asleep on the couch. With Gabriel. Using your elbows to prop yourself up, you scanned the room for any signs of the archangel. He was nowhere to be seen, but on your bedside table sat a note, scrawled in handwriting you didn’t recognize.
Sweet dreams, sleepyhead. Hope you feel better. Call me whenever you need- I’ll be listening.
Love, Gabe.
Snuggling back under the covers, you let yourself drift back off to sleep, your dreams sweet and full of laughter.

Hiiiiii everyone I’ve become obsessed w Trolls, and by extension, several of the AUs here. In particular, @djmurphy ‘s Hypno Pop AU has had me in its clutches. I couldn’t stop myself so I wrote a lil somethin’ in between working on my Feral!Branch AU.
Bit of a warning, it’s def unreliable narrator, and yes, it’s supposed to be kinda creepy. I hope yall like, please do not copy or post to another site. Lmk what y’all think!
"Hee, hee, hee, hee, heh, heh, eheh…" It wouldn't stop, no matter what I tried, nothing would make it stop. My face hurt, my entire body hurt if I was being honest. It was getting harder to do that. My voice wasn't my own, instead spewing false, toxic positivity that made me want to scream. It was hard to be honest even inside my own head when the compulsions wouldn't leave me alone either.
Keep Smiling. The compulsions hurt, but it hurt worse to try and resist. Like my nerves were being burnt. The compulsions made it easier to go about my day-to-day. I always knew what I was supposed to be doing, and how to be a good troll like everybody else. It was comforting to have a safety net.
Keep Singing. This one was harder to obey, but somehow even more painful to try and ignore. Whether I obeyed or not, it felt like liquid fire in my veins. I watched it happen over and over and over again. Every time I opened my mouth to sing, I saw her push me out of the way instead. It was painful fighting to go grey. My vocal cords always felt shredded, and they had lost a lot of their angelic body, sounding raspy, damaged.
Go To King Peppy. My numb feet carried me to the King's pod that he shared with his youngest daughter. I wasn't supposed to talk about Viva either, which was wrong. Poppy should know about her older sister, even if she never got to meet her. I knew a little about my parents, even if they had been taken before my egg hatched. At least I knew my parents existed. I wonder what my brothers are up to…
Part of me yearned to have them home still, that same part I was scared was getting dependent on the string. I would feel my feet quickening as the power of the string would begin to fade, heading to King Peppy's door, knowing I wouldn't skip. It was horrifying to think part of myself actually liked being like this. I still remembered resisting, or trying to, hating every moment of this prison. I remembered trying to scream, trying to get anyone to help me and I couldn't make myself do anything. Oh after the first close calls King Peppy had made sure to put in the compulsions to 'never alarm anyone'. Now people didn't panic when they saw me, and it was all thanks to King Peppy!
I reached King Peppy's office, knocking politely and entering the room as he bid me. King Peppy helped me when no one else could. He was the only one able to help me get rid of my greyness, the only one willing to do what it took to make me normal. I owed him everything. My smile was blindingly painful.
"Ah, Branch, perfect timing as always." King Peppy smiled broadly, opening his arms for a hug.
I leapt into his arms, the contact feeling like licking flames.
King Peppy held me for a moment, before setting me back down. He reached into his hair, pulling out a nearly-empty lyre, with one glittering pink string on it.
My heartbeat quickened seeing it, eyes tunneling to focus on the horribly beautiful string. It glowed with its own light, drawing me in and re-thickening the haze over everything I saw. I felt my shoulders begin to relax as the haze crept further, like a wild animal with its eyes hooded.
A few plucks of the string, and I felt my mind wash away in a comfortable haze. All of the anxiety and negativity bleeding away to the innermost recesses of myself. It was such a relief to not have to deal with all of those pesky emotions! Now I could just be happy and sing and dance and have fun like everyone else!
I smiled, my face comfortably numb from the fresh effects of the string. "Thank you, King Peppy! I feel much better now!" I chirped, hardly able to see him at all through the haze.
"I'm so glad to hear that, Branch! Now, I've still got some work to finish up, why don't you run along and find someone to play with until you're called for dinner?" King Peppy chuckled as he suggested it, placing the sacred string back in its spot, safely in his hair.
The village was still bustling even at this hour, people skipping about and holding hands and singing and dancing. It was amazing.
My whole body felt like it was floating, like I was only connected to it by a tiny string. I waved and smiled at everyone who greeted me, even if I couldn't tell who had spoken to me. It unnerved me not being able to see more than a couple of troll-lengths away at best. No shadows to see a hand reaching down for–
"Hey, Branch! There you are! I was just looking for you!" Princess Poppy's cheerful voice broke in before a compulsion could correct my thought.
My head whipped around to her voice, my smile still painful, but a little more genuine. Princess Poppy was a sweet girl, even if she was annoying. She was perfect and would make an excellent queen one day.
"Princess! What can I do for you today?" I asked, kneeling down in front of her. She wasn't that much shorter than me, but I would take any excuse to get off of them. I had to stay fresh for more dancing, after all!
She beamed at me, somehow making it look effortless and completely sincere.
"One of the performers for my party tonight had to backout last minute. Would you be able to fill in? I don't need a full set or anything, just a couple of songs." Her voice was pleading, eyes big and pouty. She should know by now I can't say no to her.
"Of course, what's the theme for the party?" My grinning kept up, my lips not allowed to turn down in her presence.
"Thank you so much Branch you have no idea how much this means to me!" Poppy rushed out in one breath, leaping at me and hugging me tightly. I responded automatically, not having to think about hugging back. That was the nice thing about being a puppet in your own body at least.

The Other Line (Hancock x Reader)
Masterlist
There's not enough food in your stash for the both of you so you try to give what you have left to Hancock instead of yourself. He isn't having any of it though and insists you at least share, and no isn't an option with him when it comes to your wellbeing.
(WARNINGS) - choosing to starve - past body image issues mentioned
I wrote this within a few hours and idk if I'm really satisfied with it but I figured I'd publish it anyway. I swear I'm working on longer fics I just always get sidetracked lol. Shout out though to all the people leaving comments on here and on Ao3, you guys keep my motivation sky high, you have no idea how much I appreciate each and every one of them :)

A blown-out house, still sort of standing. Four walls and a roof with minor damage was considered the peak of shelters nowadays, so neither of you complained as you walked inside. You had made the executive decision to stay here for the night, although Hancock wouldn’t have argued with you either way. It was small inside, destroyed wooden planks blocked the path upstairs, leaving the two of you to what once was a modest kitchen, dining room, and living room amalgamation. You placed your gear on the table while Hancock scoped the place out. It was a ritual of his by now, double-checking every square inch to make sure it was safe.
“Grub and then bed? I’m beat, and we’ve still got a long ways to go,” you told him, checking your pip-boy to see the progress you had made on your journey. It was going well so far, but it would still be at least another day’s hike before you reached where you needed to go. He hummed to himself, satisfied that the place was now confirmed empty except for the two of you.
“You know I ain’t picky. I’ll get the blankets set up while you sort that out, okay?” he spoke it like a question but he didn’t wait for your reply before he made his way over to the couch, grabbing your bedrolls and quickly placing a soft kiss on your forehead as he passed by. As soon as he was occupied with his task he had assigned himself you checked your food supplies. The results were what you had been fearing; you were running dangerously low. You knew you should have double-checked the stores the two of you had passed on your way here. It would have delayed you a little, sure, but it was worth it over traveling on an empty stomach. It was too little too late now, it was way too dangerous to travel in the dark to scavenge more supplies. You would have to make do with what you had and then hope you could find more food on the way tomorrow.
You checked around the kitchen, not finding much. The place had already been picked mostly clean, probably by other travelers and scavvers. You were lucky to find a bottle of nuka-cola tucked in the back of the refrigerator, but that was where your luck ended. You shook it to see if bubbles still formed against the glass, checking for discoloration and mold as the liquid sloshed around. It looked okay, so you mentally added it to your stash of goods.
“Need any help?” Hancock called from behind the back of the sofa. His voice pulled you out of your head.
“No I’ve got it just…give me a second,” you told him, making up your mind and grabbing the last canned item you had in your pack along with one of the forks you always brought along with you.
“No worries sunshine, take your time,” he replied so nonchalantly, oblivious to your current supply struggles. You watched as he kicked his feet over the arm of the sofa, the toes of his boots pointing towards the ceiling. You sighed and walked over to him, canned food and bottle of nuka-cola in hand. He shifted to make room for you on the couch when he saw you round the corner.
“Here’s what we have.” you handed him the can and the fork, plopping down next to him and using the wooden part of the couch’s arm to pop the bottle cap off of your soda. He used his knife to pry the lid off of the can, digging the fork into the mystery meat inside and taking a bite. He passed the can to you once he started chewing but you just shook your head.
“Whaddaya mean ‘no’? You gotta eat sunshine.” his words were slurred from the food in his mouth but you still refused to take the can from his hands. His scarred forehead furrowed when you kept refusing.
“Hancock it’s okay, really. I’m not that hungry anyway. You go ahead and eat.” you tried to dissuade him. But he wasn’t buying it, not when he knew you too well.
“Is it another one of those days again? I’ve told you before sugar your body is perfect just the way it is. Nothin’s ever gonna change that in my mind. I’d rather ya eat and keep your strength up than-”
“It’s nothing like that Hancock.” you stopped him before he went on another rant about how much he loved you just as you are. You couldn’t help the small smile that crept onto your face though. “I’m okay, thank you though,” you told him. You could see relief flood across his face.
“So then what’s wrong?” he asked again.
“We don’t have enough supplies to be feeding two people. So I had to make a choice and fortunately for you, you fall higher up on the list of my priorities than myself. Go ahead and eat, I’ll be okay for one night.” you explained the situation to him but it looked like he had stopped listening halfway through because as soon as you finished your sentence he had a forkful of the canned meat right by your lips.
“I just said we-”
“ ‘Don’t have enough food for two people.’ Yeah, I heard ya. Tough shit, I ain’t gonna let you go hungry, even if it is for just one night. So open up.” he twirled the fork in small circles to emphasize his words. You opened your mouth to rebuttal him again but he used that opportunity to get the fork into your mouth. You scowled but obediently began chewing. He smiled, satisfied with his task accomplished. “You won’t go to bed hungry, not while I’m around and can do somethin’ about it.” he stabbed the meat again, helping himself to another forkful. You were caught speechless, even when you were done chewing, you had run out of words. You had been prepared to go to bed with an empty stomach in order to keep him happy and healthy, but at the same time, he was willing to do the same for you.
The two of you spend the rest of the night splitting the contents of the can, and at some point, you shared the nuka-cola you had found with him too. Neither of your tummies were full, but your hearts were with a new realization of just how much you cared about one another. The couch wasn’t big enough for the two of you to lay side by side, but Hancock didn’t seem to mind because as soon as the two of you had finished eating he scooped you up on top of him, lacing his arms around you to hold you close. You spent the rest of the night curled up against him, listening to his heartbeat beneath you as the two of you fell asleep. Maybe you'd be able to find more supplies tomorrow, or maybe you wouldn’t. Either way, Hancock was determined to take care of you in any way he could.

Despicable Man
(Perv!Graves × Reader)
Tumblr media
[Dead Dove: Do Not Eat | Adult Content MDNI]
A continuation of Oral Fixation
TW: power abuse, unsolicited filming, rape threat
A/N: I just watched S1 of The Following (it sucks), and warren kole just infected my brain with mean!Graves. I just have to write it down, or I'll die of brainrot. Again, mind the tags. Don't read it if it's not your cup of tea.
This is the fourth time you hand in your resignation letter, and the third time he rips it to pieces.
"Can I give you some advice?" He said with a sneer, "If you want my attention, you wouldn't get it by writing these letters. You're wasting your time."
A vein pops up on your forehead, and you slam your hands against the table.
"What's wrong with you?" You shouted at him, "It's not a game, Graves. I'm not playing whatever it is you're playing, I'm quitting!"
"Whoa." He lifts his hands in a mocking manner as he leans on his chair, "You talk to your boss like this?"
"You're not my boss." You hissed.
"Legally, I'm still your boss." He pointed out, and you swore you felt your blood boil, "So don't talk to me like that."
"You think I fucking care?" You spat, "You're not my boss anymore because I'm leaving. Sue me all you want, I'm not gonna stay in a company that threw my grievance letters into the trash."
"Watch your mouth." He warned you with a tone that made you freeze. "I can still punish you if I want."
You open your mouth to speak, before you decide against it.
"Where do you think you're going?" He called out when you turned your heel, before striding towards the door.
"I'm leaving." You retorted, voice dripping with venom.
"No you're not." He stated. "Sit down."
"I'm not gonna sit down and listen to your bullshit." You glare as you push down the door handle, "I've had enough of it, I'm leavi—"
Your feet come to a halt when you see a man standing outside the door, blocking your way out. You recognize him from his black mask and athletic build—he's the commander's guard dog, Graves' most loyal bodyguard. You instinctively take a step back, as the man slowly stalks toward you.
You rattle your brain as you try to think of the reason why he's here, and why he locks the door behind while his eyes stay on you. Until you hear a voice from behind—saying the same words you've heard before, only it's darker, more dangerous this time.
"Sit down, (Name)."
Your hands were seized by the man before you could protest. He drags you from the door, and to the large desk where his boss sits. His grip on you is so strong, that it's impossible to escape him. And when he pushes you down to your seat, you lift your head and snarl at the man across the table.
"What's the meaning of this?"
He tilts his chin in a mocking manner, before he rises from his seat and walks round the table. "What's the meaning of this?" He purses his lips as he pretends to think, "I don't know, you tell me."
You jeeringly scoff at his question, "So is this how you take care of your problems? By threatening them until they withdraw from the case?"
"Oh no, not at all, mon cher. In fact, I want to help you."
You look at him as if you're listening to a mad man's ramble, but he only smirks as he continues.
"You see, I've… reviewed all of the accusations that you wrote against me, and I must admit, you're good at using the right terms." He uttered, "But, you forgot one thing. To win a case, you have to have concrete evidence."
When he turns his gaze on you, you feel your blood run cold, as you catch the subtext of his words.
"And the video that you sent as evidence? It doesn't have my face, mon cher. How are you gonna convince them that it's me? That it's my hand that slipped under your skirt, as I cornered you against the counter? Mind you, it's merely a touch, it couldn't be counted as sexual assault."
A satisfied smirk spreads on his face, as he sees resentment begins to fill your eyes, as well as bitter tears.
"You're smart, (Name). I always like that about you. You stubbornly wanted to prove my wrongdoings, you even brought a hidden cam for it. It's a shame the angle was wrong." He leans closer to whisper in your ear, "And it's a shame that no one cares."
Your glare turns dagger as he pulls away from you.
"Now that it didn't work out, you tried to leave the company. Guess what, mon cher? You need my signature for it." You clench your fist when you hear him chuckle, "In the end, you still need me for your escape."
He lets out a derisive 'whoa' when you're thrown back to your seat before you could punch him. You struggle against his bodyguard's grip, while you scream at him.
"Fuck you, Graves. Fuck you and your arse licking dogs."
"Alright," He sighs as he flicks his wrist, "Shut her up."
Your protest soon turns into a muffled shout, as your mouth is covered by a big hand. You wince when the grip on your jaws becomes too tight, and you claw the arm that slings around you from behind.
"Where were we? Oh." He rummages through his pocket, and pulls something up. Your eyes widen as you recognize the two items from the clink of the metals.
"As I told you before, I want to help you. But my service doesn't come cheap." He sneered as he stood in front of you, "You know that, do you?"
You start to thrash against the man's arm, trying to get away from him. But he seizes your hands so easily, and you watch in horror as he locks the handcuffs around them. Leaving one and a half inches of space between your wrists.
"There we go." You saw him smirk, before your vision came to a blur for a second. By the time you realize it, you've stooped on the ground, with a sore pain on your knees.
The man had pushed you down from your seat, and you heard the heavy drag of the chair from behind. You raise your head to protest, but the word dies down the moment you spot the handycam on his hand.
"Say hi, (Name)." He grinned as he pointed the camera at you.
The dark lens reflects your face, wide-eyed, and mouth agape. If a picture could show a thousand words, then it must've captured the paralyzing shock of your stare.
"You're insane." You whispered in disbelief, while he placed the cam on the table.
"You keep saying those words, darling. But do you even know what they mean?" He bends down to check the device, "What's insane for you, (Name)?"
An immediate answer comes up from your thought, but it dies down the moment it lands on your tongue.
"No words to say?" He sneered, "Where'd that attitude of yours have gone, hmm?"
He slowly circles around you, with a hungry flare in his eyes.
"Now, where were we?" You heard him flout, before you flinched at the sudden pat on your head. "Oh, right."
He seizes you by your chin, which makes you shout at the rough treatment. The urge to spat at him comes up to a boiling point, until you see the prominent bulge inside his pants.
"As I was saying, I'll help you get clear evidence for it. My face is already in the video, so the jury will no longer have to guesswork." He said with a smirk, "Of course, it'll become invalid if we're just conversing, right?"
The sound of click snaps you out of shock, and you watch in horror as his belt slips out of the loops.
"It'll be easier for you if you comply. But if you don't, we can always do this the hard way." He spoke in a low tone, as he shoved down his pants, "Open your mouth, or I'll ruin that pretty hole of yours."

Shorty so fine, pussy so fresh.
Diced pineapples that my baby tastes the best.
I nearly lost my mind, guess it was a test.
Swept her off her feet and went and bought her ass a Lex.
Paid it off cash so I never wrote a check.
Leave my cars at her crib I'm just stuntin' on her ex.
A hot summer day, chilling in the ATL. My handsome baby to my left and a strawberry daiquiri in my right hand.
Even though my babies, the Usos, lost their tag titles earlier in the year. They’re still the greatest tag team ever.
“I needed this sun baby.” You look over to your man admiring his big hazel doe eyes, his stunning dimples, and cheeky smile. “You deserve this sun handsome.”
Blushing like crazy, Jey covers his face. He was never one to take your compliments, always feeling like you were the perfect one in the relationship. Your perfect brown skin and eyes, your curvy body, and gorgeous face. But, you remind him everyday that he’s the most perfect and beautiful man you’ve ever laid eyes on.
“Enough with the compliments, whatchu drinkin’?!” His eyes slightly close due to the beaming sun. “A little strawberry daiquiri. Something to cool me down.” He smiles and lifts off of his chair to place a quick kiss to your lips. “Tastes like strawberries.” “I know.” You languidly lay your tongue out to reach your straw and sip on your drink. His eyes watching you intensely, the sexual tensions already rising…
You rise out of your lounge chair and sway your hips back and forth, as Mr. Main Event watches your ass bounce during every step. You reached the sliding door and enter your shared lavish house.
“Damn… I gotta have that tonight.” Jey clapped and rubbed his hands together.
Pussy's excellent and I know it sound a mess.
I love to make her toes curl as I'm lickin' on her flesh uhh.
Sex all night couple shots of Ciroc.
Crib on the water got LeBron up the block.
Money ain't the thing baby welcome to the Mark.
Diced pineapples talking diamonds by the jar.
A can of Dole diced pineapples exits the fridge and lands on the white marble kitchen counter. You placed your empty glass in the sink and pull out a can opener.
The lid of the can pops and your red stiletto nails clasp onto the juicy, yellow fruit. You moan as you bite into the decadent fruit. The juices fall in betwixt your voluptuous breasts.
Just as you moved to clean the juice from your tits, a hand grabs your wrist firmly.
“Let me get that for you.” Jey turns you to around, so you face him. He dips his head down and slides his tongue across the expanse of your cleavage slowly.
Your head lolled back as you reveled in the feeling of his rigid tongue. Lost in a sensual trance, you were led out of it as Jey’s voice boomed though you.
“Them pineapples taste just like you baby, real sweet… just how I like it.” His lips practically kissing your ear as he whispered into it.
“So, you want a taste or what big boy?!” Your hand wrapped around his chin, admiring his wet pink lips he just licked.
“You already know I do.”
Bitch so bad got me wishing I could sign her.
Uniform Isabel Marant when you on the team.
Double MG them other niggas fell off, baby girl I just wanna see you well off.
Your thighs spread across the counter and your man’s head lodged in between them. Your cunt made lewd noises, as Jey’s tongue glided across your pussy. The pineapples once in the can, jotted atop your sweet cunt.
“Mmmmm, fuckkkk. Lick that pussy daddy, eat it… it’s all yours.” Your voice hoarse as can be, with the way your man was devouring your pussy. His mouth open wide as he smooched your lips. Sliding his tongue crazily back and forth; swirling and curling it around your sensitive clit.
He places large and wet kisses onto your cunt. Strings of your essence pulling from every drag of his lips. Your pussy beating at every kiss, wanting more, but you knew Jey was an impatient man. Closing your thighs shut to stafe off that euphoric feeling, almost reaching your high.
“Hurry up and take your ass to the couch, you got five seconds.” Jumping off the counter and sprinting to the plush white couch in the living room. Knowing how Jey likes you, you begin to arch your back sensually.
You hear Jey let out a “fuckk”, as he admires your pussy spread wide open. He pulls his shorts off and you feel the couch dip behind you.
Feeling frisky, as Jey placed his hands on your hips, you arch your back deeper wanting to feel every stroke he gave you. “You so fucking nasty, you been waiting for this dick.” You looked back at him, ogling his taut brown member standing up at attention. “You gonna fuck me or n—.” Your body flings forward as Jey rams into you. Your hands quickly fall to the throw pillows and you hold onto them with dear life as Jey begins his brutal strokes.
He pounded into your devilishly, destroying your pussy until it reaches its wits end. Your wig twirled into a makeshift ponytail as he hit those long, deep strokes. “OH MY GO—DDD, don’t stop baby, don’t stop.” His sweet ministrations already a lot, but his thumb soon reaches your blushing asshole.
Your back dares to try and release its arch, when Jey pushes it back down. “You wanted to arch your back like crazy, then you gonna take this dick like crazy.” Jey rubs your hole and enters without warning. His finger abuses your hole and his dick stretches your pussy to new heights.
Jey’s grunts turn into softer moans as your pussy squeezes his dick with might and your hole closes around his long finger. “I’m gonna cum.” “Me too baby, wait for me I’m almost there.” You mouth open wide as he mercilessly pounds into your cunt extra hard, not slowing his pace. His finger exits your hole and rubs your sweet clit.
“Let go baby, let go.” Your pussy squelches as you began to squirt all over his thick thighs and all over the couch. Jey’s hips stutter as he releases into your gaping cunt. You both let out a sigh of relief. Jey then flips you onto your back and scoops up his cum flowing out of you.
His two fingers danced underneath the sunlight as he paraded them toward your open lips. You took his cum into your mouth without hesitation. You swallowed his juice and rolled your tongue out to prove you did it.
Smirking with a fond appreciation, Jey’s head lowers once again as he fingers your pussy, so you can push more of your sweet mixed juices out. He dives into your pussy once more and eats the cum that leaves your cunt.
What a nasty man….

Electrifying Wounds
The Doctor/Herman Carter x Killer! Frankenstein! Reader
Sorry this took a lot longer to get out! Vecna was released yesterday and I had been playing all day 💀 But I hope this turned out okay!! I’m still new to requests and I was going back and forth on if I should write this as a oneshot or imagine, so I wrote a oneshot. I kinda changed the prompt a bit since I wasn’t quite sure if the reader should be a killer or a survivor and I had recently watched Lisa Frankenstein so I ended up with this LOL so I hope this is okay! And ngl, I might do a part 2 for this since I kinda dig the idea of a The Doctor x Frankenstein… so yeah! My apologies if Herman is a lil OOC…this is my first time writing for him :’)
Emerging from the clouds of black fog, you found yourself back at the campground. With a yawn leaving your lips, you stretched out your aching muscles with a satisfied ‘pop!’
Another trial had commenced and you had found yourself at a place called Autohaven Wreckers. Usually when the entity would send you to maps that didn’t work in your favor, you would typically let the survivors run free while accepting that you’d be punished.
It wasn’t as if you felt the pain of her tendrils anyways.
Seeing as how you were the living embodiment of a bunch of body parts sewn together, you didn’t necessarily ‘feel’ pain. So you usually never minded letting survivors run free.
However, you had been feeling rather bloodthirsty for a while, so when you spawned into the dark green atmospheric map, you gripped onto your weapon tightly and went out hunting for the group of survivors.
The trial was difficult at first, but overall you still came out on top. While the survivors were well coordinated, rushing through generators with their toolboxes and splitting up the moment you appeared, you, on the other hand, were determined enough to slaughter their blood all over the wrecked cars.
Stalking, chasing, and hooking, you managed to end the trial with three kills out of four which wasn’t too bad at all, but you would have prefered to have all the survivors dead.
Oh well. The trial was over and you had satisfied your own craving.
Now you were tired beyond belief and you were just about ready to flop onto your mattress and have a well deserved nap.
Walking down the pebbled path, you turned your attention over to the towering trees ahead. You were about to make your way through the forest to retire into your cabin until you heard a deep chuckle come from behind you, causing you to look over your shoulder.
A few feet away from you wearing a white ripped up lab coat over a white collared shirt and black tie, stood a man with a wired head contraption that peeled open his eyes and mouth.
You weren’t one to really interact with the other killers. In fact, a lot of the other killers in the realm were rather hostile. However, this killer in particular was one that you found yourself rather attracted to, and as the two of you continued to interact within the time you spent in the realm, you could sense that he felt that same bond.
So once you caught sight of the familiar man, you stopped.
“Oh, hey Dr. Carter.” You greeted, rubbing your eyes tiredly, “How’s it going?”
Stalking closer to you, the man didn’t give you an answer. Instead, he let out an amused giggle.
“[Name], did a survivor strike you again?” His raspy voice asked, eyes sparking with mischief as he watched you tilt your head in confusion.
“Huh? No, why do you ask?”
The man didn’t respond, he merely brought a hand to your shoulder and traced his finger down your back and around an oozing puncture wound. With electricity flowing through his fingers, the doctor gave a quick zap to the bleeding hole, earning himself a small shiver from you.
“Owe.” You muttered, albeit, in a monotone voice.
It was obvious that you didn’t truly feel the pain of that shock. If it had been anyone else to receive that much electricity, they would’ve convulsed on the spot. However, you didn’t. Instead, you treated Herman’s shocks as if they were a small tickle to the touch.
It amused him greatly, and the man couldn’t help but show his delight by admiring your being. Bringing his hand to his face, Herman observed the blood that covered his fingers. It was a dark inky black, barely even considered red at that point. It was truly something to marvel at. Blood didn’t flow through your veins like an ordinary being, yet here you stood able to walk and talk just like him.
You were truly the embodiment of the first sci-fi monster.
The doctor could feel a his heart beat rapidly against his chest. Letting out another fit of laughter, Herman watched as you brought your own hand to your shoulder and touched the area where his fingers had just lingered.
“Huh.” You voiced, “I didn’t even know that was there. I must’ve gotten it when I fell over my missing arm and had landed on a leaking pipe.” Scratching your head, you continued with a pout. “I knew I should’ve burned a map offering. Autohaven is just too cluttered for me.”
Herman’s laugh continued. His body shook as a deep fit of laughter rippled through his being.
Oh, how you were his favorite specimen in all of the realm.
With his fingers still sparking with impulsive shocks, the man held out his hand to you, “Shall we go back to my cabin? I would love to stitch up your wounds.”
You looked down at his hand for a moment.
You really wanted to rest. But at the same time, Dr. Carter was the only being who you truly had any ‘feelings’ for. His electricity enticed you, and gazing into his glowing white eyes, you could tell that he knew that too.
Were you just another experiment to him? Many would say so, but as you stood in front of the man, watching as he held out a hand towards you, his eyes beckoning you to take his hand, a part of you believed that he felt something for you as well.
So you took his hand, shivering as you felt electricity run through your body.
Letting out another deep chuckle, Herman took your hand and brought your fingers to his lips. Placing a chaste kiss to the top of your skin, Herman gripped your hand tightly before leading you back to his cabin.
