I know we talk a lot about the Knuckles-Maddie relationship (and lbr its cuz we want this boy to be mothered and loved) but here's my thoughts on Knuckles-Tom relationship:

Y'know that scene in Guardians of the Galaxy when Rocket is holding the dead Groot stick and crying and Drax sits beside him and just gently pets him and Rocket is surprised but lets it happen and they just sit there quietly? That's the Knuckles-Tom vibe.
