#the vet tech was so nice. held his hand out. my dog sniffed it . barked once. and then went willingly with them to the back.

last year one of my dogs hurt his ear. he has floppy ears and one of them got, like, inflated? and i thought it was a bee sting and it wasn’t. it was a doggy ear hematoma where i guess a blood vessel pops and makes the ear inflate. and i panicked and made my family panic. we tried taking him to the vet but he was all barky everywhere and they gave us drugs and told us to try again later.
so two weeks later we tried again by drugging him an hour before--and still they wouldnt see him. they didnt even try. he barked once but they still were like ‘hmm no’. even tho we did everything that was asked of us. so i had to carry him into the car, and by then he was very sluggish. and basically drugged my dog for nothing. we were so frustrated and annoyed (and like, yes i do feel like its a discrimination bc he looks part pit a little bit but i dont want go too much into that bc its a whole other thing).
anyway, i took my drugged dog home and we read that leaving his ear as is was not life threatening. that it would eventually go down but that it would turn into ‘cauliflower’\’elephant ear’. so, a wrinkly ear. and it did just that over the weeks. and bc his ears are black you cant even notice it unless u were to touch them. and he’s healthy, he’s happy, he’s fine.
two days ago i was on tiktok and a vet showed what the procedure looks like by doing it on an actual dog and it was so traumatizing. i cant believe that i wanted to do that to my dog. i love his elephant ear. i cant imagine putting him under the knife like that.  but like, i saw the whole thing. it was done on like a chihuahua or something. i just...it was horrible. i love my dog and his wrinkly ear and i wouldnt have him any other way.
