lol. religion longpost
Feels like a symptom of the (varying degrees of cynical/sincere) christian conversion-o-mania going on that the railing against "anti-theists" "reddit atheists" etc has returned in force (though not reaching 00s levels, yet lol) particularly the argument that like "subset of athiests believes X thing that is not reflected directly in reality (or whatever), so therefore it's also basically a religion"
like a) there's plenty of collectively reinforced ideological beliefs that are not true, see "just work hard and get a job"
b) in a way I feel like this expresses a more pessimistic view of religion than someone like me, who has no religious beliefs, has-- like, is "religion" just belief in something that does not play out in reality? you said it, not me..
c) it's a very youth pastor-y attempt to frame religious belief as like, universal, or normal, or inherent to human psychology, or whatever, the aim of which is to obviously get people to be like "ah shucks, I guess it's not so bad that religious belief is a presumed basis for inclusion in public life then" regardless of whether you, in that moment, convert them or convince them on other issues where the existing default IS that religious belief justifies a say (ie abortion) or not.
d) it's the same sort of frustrating tedious response you face from ppl who don't want to admit their discomfort with identities that seem to lack "positive content" -- bisexuals lack a gender preference in terms of partner but must have a "lean" or a particular way they like men vs women, nonbinary people must at least be "masc" or "fem," asexual people must aspire to some sort of normative romance/relationship etc like... if you want me to accept that your experience with a higer power or religious practice is in some way true or has actual meaning to you, I think you also need to accept that people are just as truthfully saying they do not experience that
and e) it's often a weird stolen valor thing where christians act like they're somehow on the back foot in an anti-theistic world... if it's hard to be a muslim in america, for example, its because of extreme and ongoing racism (that christians are just as, if not more, gog and magog style responsible for), not because a minority of irreligious individuals are targeting religion in general

They coulda still had all the overarching stories but with their new character development from the show! They coulda !
I can sit there and try and justify everything, Oliver is an alien (true!), compassion and empathy are different things, it would be neat to see an actual portrayal of a character who lacks empathy and must learn to operate with compassion- except if Oliver gave zero fucks about life, why does he give a shit about being a hero? What is his motivation at all for stopping 'bad guys' if he thinks life is worthless/meaningless? It's like every time I try to apply nuance to the situation I'm just left with more questions about why the fuck the situation is that way at all. All surrounded by the singular question, why does he give a single flying fuck about Nolan.
FR ! Like, I get that in some capacity you are Tired, Mark, but quite frankly- most of the time- the world should operate without you operating as a hero. Cecil would arguably dial back on stalking your life if you took a break from heroing (since it is apparently such a fucking burden??) and just focused on your brother. Let guilt build up in him that way! I took a step back because people didn't trust me, but now maybe there were things I could have stopped! What would it have been like for Immortal to have to come to Mark for help with something ??? What if they tried to guilt trip him bc he wasn't helping only for him to snap that helping wasn't making them happy either and now not helping is getting the same result! It's like S1 almost set him up for the whole Superman-esque morality, and then everything after has sort of failed to live up to that. Mark doesn't seem to have a very consistent moral compass, though I can definitely see people arguing his fight with Cecil is an extension of that compass, except the entire thing feels self-sabotagy and perfunctory on Mark's end. If he is desperate for black and white morality after what his dad did, portray it more??? His whole response to what his dad did IS very personal and self-centered and has nothing really to do with right or wrong, he is just determined not to be viewed the same way!
And I get not wanting to be viewed as a murderer! Very understandable! But what are your stances on helping people?? is it truly just guilt ?? Everyone who does anything bad ever should go to prison forever IS a very young concept of justice, and he IS a teenage boy! So where is his breakdown over needing to go to prison! Mark can acknowledge nuance, sometime, so is his moral compass just, if I fight someone they must go to prison bc I am right?? When did he ever have an opinion on right or wrong?? His only stance on anything is apparently, don't kill ppl, which is wild bc pretty much ALL the heroes of this world are shown very offhandedly killing people very casually. (Immortal throwing a man into space in ep1 anyone...) so like. His no kill ideology is very much tied into what his dad did. idk. I can talk myself into circles trying to sort out whatever the fuck is going on there. and then I'm just going in more circles lol
Immortal waiting for the actual threat to be gone before he has an opinion is wild xD And after you shook his hand and acted like you were totally cool w him after the seqid shit too. His consequences shit STILL gets me. Sir. You actively quit heroing bc you felt sad then invited your own ass back. Where was your sense of responsibility then? Your concept of CONSEQUENCES? You're allowed to take yourself off the board, potentially contributing to the death of countless civilians since this world apparently can't do shit unless there's at least one superman-figure present, but no one can call you out for that? If it is such a damn honor and privilege to be a Guardian why are you walking away from it?
Nolan having zero social concept of interacting with people in a 'I am not here to rule you way' arguably makes SOME sort of sense (god I still can't fathom what his thought process was there, like sir, they STILL know where you are, even if you won on Thraxa everything would still suck), but Immortal?? bruh?? you lived how damn long and somehow you came to the conclusion being an authoritarian was good??
Allen annoys me not bc he falls flat as a comedy relief char (and admittedly I'm also just not a Seth Rogan fan so when I hear his voice I just go -.-) but bc he gets to magically become strong and impossible to kill. Just like Oliver suddenly being so strong after having powers for .5 seconds, it just becomes- what's the point of Mark putting in effort if literally every character around him doesn't have to??? His effort isn't even rewarded! He's still getting his ass beat by a low stakes S1 villain! And then people bring up the whole Mark is holding back thing, and then that all collapses back on itself bc, then where are his guilt trips when he loses it. Not to mention you literally could have just flown through the Pauls to grab Rex and not wasted time punching their heads offs? Again, sir, you are indestructible battering ram who can fly to the moon and back in seconds. Who cares about your sudden lack of punching power despite that supposedly being the thing you've improved on, I need you to start moving faster.
Mark agreeing to go hang out on a beach w Debbie instead of refusing and the beach is Beach City (am now officially thinking too much about this crossover lol)
The way I got caught up on our back and forth I almost forgot this, lol! AND OH MY GOODNESS, IMAGINE? I forget exactly what which point Debbie makes the beach offer, but I’d love when exactly in SU/SUF-timeline they’d go? There’s something so fucking funny to me about them going during the SUF-timeline and always narrowly missing the strange, Steven-shaped mental breakdowns in the back. I know those don’t occur in a single day, but it’s tickling me. How could they miss anything? I don’t know I just think it’s funny.
Though, post-SUF is interesting if Gems can see the similar “world on your shoulders”, Mark has going on! Steven can shunt the narrative in the Gems’ minds, which I think is neat, if I’m not misusing the phrase since the guy’s on the road far away. Or maybe it’s just before Steven goes and they stumble into each other. I’d kinda love Pearl and Debbie interacting, honestly, if they could talk about loving someone who hurt you, hide things from you, even when you thought you knew them so deeply, and they left you to raise a child. Pearl being in a well adjusted space, and Debbie still grieving.
Honestly, the gems could help train Mark, they’re got experience and similar-ish powers in strength, sturdiness, and they can jump/run fast enough for flying to be vaguely similar enough to lecture about, I think. Or Lapis Lazulis, haha! Peridot with her trash can lid! Garnet, I’d love to see if she told Mark anything about his future in vague, well meaning advice. Or even giving relationship advice considering Amber. Or, importantly, how to convince an entire reign to end their colonizing ways, lol. Is Mark perhaps willing to start a war, take advantage of being related to any leaders, or fake his own death to varying results?
In general, there’s something so fucking funny to me about Nolan, in the sake of comparison, being Pink Diamond coded. Like OH, did an important or well respected of the colonizing empire come to earth and learn the beauty of its people and nature, including faking/lying/omitting things about his identity and background to being in, only to feel conflicted when his responsibility still remained, and he tried to free himself from them? Yikes! We’ve been through that before! Like gimme Pink Diamond and Nolan outfit swap rn. This is tickling me so much oh my goodness.

something that's always bothered me is how exactly anyone in mistral found out pyrrha was dead. like, they made a big deal about how the tower going down cut off communications, and she only died after that, furthermore, the last thing ppl saw on the *live national broadcast* was pyrrha killing someone?? why does she get a statue??
So, with Qrow sending James a letter, I think it's easy enough to say 'Glynda probably sent her family a letter' to explain how people knew about Pyrrha's death. But, it's a very good point about her having supposedly killed someone on TV on something that seems to be viewed about as much as the Superbowl. Gonna be honest, just with how horrible and suspicious a bunch of people are, I feel like there would be some people who bought into Cinder's speech completely and viewed Penny as just a super suspicious weapon, and therefore viewed Pyrrha as even more of a hero for 'exposing Atlas' for the super duper bad weapon disguised as a normal student.
There would probably be other people who do unfairly view her as a horrible murderer who killed Penny in cold blood. Other people would probably take the mentality that it was a horrible unfortunate accident. And then there would probably be some conspiracy theorists who come up with wild theories about the whole thing being faked, or having been set up by Ironwood in order to justify the embargo later or something. It makes sense to me that Pyrrha's family would've tried to fight for some kind of acknowledgement of Pyrrha's heroics and sacrifice (though the whole monument statue to her is a whole problem anyway,) but idk, would people have fought it? Would there be people defacing the statue in protest?
I kind of wish that sort of thing had actually affected the story and characters, because it only makes sense that not everything would just go away after the Fall. Public perception would be affected by how things were at the Fall of Beacon. There are people who might think of Pyrrha as the villain in the story. There are other people who would think that Yang was some horrible violent person who broke someone's leg for no reason after she won her battle and then yelled 'that's what you get' at him. There are people who probably heard that Weiss had lost her mind from Jacques and ran away after having a nervous breakdown at a party and trying to attack some poor woman. Other people might know Jaune as that team leader from TV who tried to have a team meeting in the middle of the match and couldn't even make his team remember team attack names. It isn't that any of this would be fair, obviously we as an audience know that Pyrrha never would have hurt a competitor on purpose, that Yang was innocent and Mercury and Emerald had set her up to get her kicked out, and that Jaune's come a ways since volume three, and Weiss's father was an abusive jerk and her 'nervous breakdown' was very well justified and doesn't make her dangerous or anything. But other people don't know that. The average citizen wouldn't know that.
When Jaune flashes his badge at a group of civilians, at least one of them should be wary to follow the guy they last saw yelling 'we're in the middle of a meeting, what don't you get about that?' Maybe one of the Ace Ops could question why Yang is being given a license. Maybe one of the people at Jacques' fancy party should act like Weiss is going to have an emotional outburst. Maybe there would be someone who casually remarks to Nora that they're glad her team has been able to move on after 'what Pyrrha did' and Nora can actually get to express grief and anger.
But instead, it's just kind of, brushed under the rug. The writers sometimes act like everyone has a script, even the random C-listers and D-listers who couldn't know what's going on. Characters only have to deal with consequences when the writers remember.

So I posted this earlier...
Tumblr media
... And then I wrote it because of course I did.
My interpretation of MF Sans and Paps is based off of @improvidence318, who I tagged so you have an instant link to his VA stuff because his audios are hilarious and his MF Sans voice is super sexy. Sorry for the notification, improvidence, I just want ppl to hear your stuff >~< His audios were the first introduction I had to MF Sans and his interpretation is my favorite. (Although the guy does need to learn to not corner women in dark alleys in an attempt to bed them.)
Anyway yeah I thought the power dynamic would be less off if Reader was involved with the mob too. So.
---
When you arrived at the party, you put a smile on your face. It was as much an accessory as the necklace you were wearing. You weren’t even quite sure what the party was for. A successful business endeavor between multiple crime families, you knew that, but your father never really liked to tell you the details of said endeavors.
Your parents didn’t force you to stay at their side, so you allowed yourself to wander and pay attention to… anything but the people here. The art on the walls, the decor… Anything but them. You knew your parents were bringing you along to these parties to find a potential husband, but you couldn’t bring yourself to go start a conversation with anyone. You didn’t want anything to do with them. You hated the criminal lifestyle-- you wanted to marry out of it, not into it. So when you realized there was a large terrace, you gladly ran out, to get away from the stifling air of false smiles, veiled threats and blatant lies.
The air outside was much fresher and crisper, and the terrace gave you a nice view of the city. This was so much better. You even felt a smile creep onto your face as you removed your gloves.
Sometimes, when you watched movies or read books about young women your age, you wondered if their freedom was exaggerated. Or if the goodness of the men they met was exaggerated. Probably, to an extent. After all, nothing that makes money is entirely honest. You’d learned that very early on. But you always wondered what it felt like to go to a gathering of friends and not feel the underlying tension that you always felt. In your world, everyone looked out for themselves. You knew the people at this party would gladly blow each other’s brains out if they knew they could gain something from it. Sure, they had their ethics and their deals and their values, but those could easily be bent and twisted to justify almost anything they did.
You envied those girls. They didn’t have the money your family had, but they had real friends. Real loved ones. Real men who really cared about them.
You didn’t think of yourself as a romantic, but you knew you would have to get married eventually. If only you could find someone who would actually love you, even in this hellhole.
The doors to the terrace were thrown open behind you, but you didn’t so much as start. You were accustomed to loud noises.
“Fuckin’ need a smoke, this party is a buncha bullshit.”
Ugh. Great. This had been your one place of refuge and now some drunken idiot had stumbled into it. You looked over to see who exactly had barged in on your retreat.
You blinked when you realized how large he was, and again when you realized he wasn’t human. His hands were lighting a cigar, and you could tell that they were nothing but bone. A monster. You’d met monsters before, so you weren’t afraid (at least, not for that reason), but you had never seen a skeleton before. He didn’t even seem to realize you were here, since he had headed for the other end of the terrace. You were much smaller than him, so you were sure his eyes had looked you over easily. If he had eyes. You couldn’t quite see his face, the brim of his hat was hiding it.
He was still grumbling to himself as he tucked his lighter back into his pocket and placed his cigar between two sets of extremely sharp teeth. From the way the moonlight glinted off one tooth, you could tell it was made of metal. Probably gold. He didn’t have eyes, per se, but he had little lights in his eye sockets that glowed a crimson color.
You realized that those lights were now looking directly at you.
“Oh, shit, how long’ve you been here for?” asked the stranger. He had an extremely deep voice that almost seemed to roll through the air, like thunder.
Well, he wasn’t saying anything mean, but if he was at this party he was no good, so you started to put on your gloves again. “Longer than you.”
For some reason, he chuckled. “Woulda been out here sooner if I knew this terrace was here. This party’s the worst, right?”
You had been turning to go, but you stopped. He wasn’t supposed to say that-- that the party wasn’t fun. That would be rude. But he hadn’t cared. Maybe he had an unrefined reason for thinking it was unpleasant. Maybe he just wanted more booze, or wished there were strippers here... but whatever it was, he hadn’t given you some garbage excuse for being out here with you.
You decided to test the waters. “It’s…  not fun.”
“Boy, you sure are polite about it.” He snorted (odd, considering he didn’t have lungs). “Everybody’s so goddamn fake ‘round here. Can’t have any real fun.” He smiled, raising a brow. “What’s yer name, dollface?”
You told him. You expected him to bring up your father, but he didn’t.
“Nice. Name’s Sans.”
Oh. You’d heard of him. “You have a brother,” you said, “right?”
“Yeah. Real buzzkill, though. He’s still inside, chattin’ people up.” His toothy grin widened. “Fancies himself a real ladykiller.”
“Literally or figuratively?” you asked with a small smile. Sans let out a laugh.
“Nah, figuratively. He’d never lay a hand on a lady. ‘N neither would I.”
They all say that.
“Unless… you want me to lay hands on ya.”
You blinked. His eyes were lidded. Did he not know who your father was? He could have him shot dead for talking to you like this. Then again, this man didn’t seem to have the highest IQ.
“You look real nice in that dress,” he said softly.
“Thanks,” you said curtly. You didn’t want to turn around and go back into the party-- you hated it there-- and you figured Sans wouldn’t let it escalate much further. He was a monster, not a human skeleton. He could still die if your father ordered it.
Wait, when had he gotten right in front of you?
“Y’know,” he said in his baritone voice, “nobody’s lookin’ for ya. Seems like we’ll be alone for a while.”
“Are you suggesting something?” you responded, trying to look unfazed. You were fazed, though. Most men were too scared to try anything like this on you. And for good reason. It could get them killed. And this man was just so… big. You had to crane your neck to meet his gaze.
“Maybe.”
He leaned close to you, and you frowned.
“Your breath smells like alcohol and cigar smoke,” you told him. Gross. Like you’d want to get intimate with him anyway, much less with his mouth smelling like that.
That didn’t deter him. “Yeah? Sorry about that.”
His head was practically in the crook of your neck now. He inhaled sharply.
“You smell good,” he growled, like a wolf smelling a helpless bunny.
You realized you were leaning against the railing of the terrace and that his hands were grabbing the railing on either side of you. This would absolutely horrify your parents.
Hmm.
It would horrify my parents.
Maybe… just to spite them…
You stepped a little closer to Sans, who immediately wrapped an arm around your waist. You resisted the slight urge to move away.
“Ah, dollface,” Sans purred. “You smell so good…. I could just eat ya….”
His sharp teeth started to trail along your neck. Was this a kiss? He didn’t have lips, so you weren’t sure.
“Maybe,” he said softly, “you an’ I could get away from this awful party… An’ I could show ya a good time elsewhere….”
He can’t be serious. You squinted. “Get away? We can’t just walk out the door.”
“Don’t have to,” he responded; he was so close your nose was brushing against his nasal bone. He smirked. “I can show ya how, if you want me to.”
You were curious… But unfortunately, you assumed that if you said yes,  he would also take that as a yes to the sex he was obviously proposing. And you definitely didn’t want that. How would you even…? No, you didn’t even want to know.
He pressed his teeth right against the corner of your mouth. Definitely a kiss. You felt annoyed when your face got hot.
“C’mon, doll.” He already sounded excited. “I can show ya all kinds of new things--”
“SANS! WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING?!”
He immediately backed away from you at the sound of the more shrill voice. You could feel that your face was on fire. Whoever it was probably thought you had been happily reciprocating….
You looked over to see a second skeleton, somehow taller than the first, but a lot thinner. He had some sort of scar across his left eye. Your cynicism returned (strange, it was like time-- and your brain-- had slowed down a few moments ago) and you had to wonder what sour business deal he’d gotten that mark from.
He was glowering at Sans. This had to be his brother. Papyrus was his name, right? Like the parchment the ancient Egyptians used to write on.
“Uh,” was all that came out of Sans’ mouth. So eloquent. You actually felt kind of ashamed you’d let someone with his low level of intelligence go as far as he had. And just to spite your parents? What were you, five?
“DO YOU KNOW WHOSE DAUGHTER SHE IS?”
Sans looked over at you. “I mean, no.” He grinned with those sharp teeth again. “I only care ‘bout who she calls Daddy.”
Your face got hot again... which embarrassed you… which only made your face hotter.
“THE POOR THING!” said Papyrus. “YOU’VE ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED HER!”
“That’s embarrassment yer lookin’ at, Paps, not fear.” His tone darkened a little. “We’ve both seen fear.”
Nobody said things like that either. Not at a gathering like this, and definitely not in front of women. You were pretty sure his disregard for the etiquette of this society was just due to sheer stupidity, but it was refreshing. As thick as he was, he was at least honest.
Well, not really. Just more honest than everyone else here. Surely he had some skeletons in his closet as well.
Hah… skeletons in his closet. You tried to fight back a smile. Unfortunately, it was noticed by both brothers.
Sans sounded amused. “Whatcha laughin’ at, babe?”
“Nothing,” you said, but since you couldn’t bite your lip your smile was fully visible.
“Like hell. What’s so funny?”
“SANS!” said Papyrus. “LANGUAGE!”
You said, “It might offend you.” The last thing you wanted to do was offend a mobster of any sort. Even if you were basically untouchable.
“S’long as you ain’t callin’ me fat, we’re good.” He winked. “I ain’t fat, I’m just big-boned.”
Your smile widened, much to your chagrin.
“SANS!”
“What? She likes it. Now tell me your joke, honey.”
You still weren’t sure if this was a good idea, but he’d asked. “I was just thinking that you both have some… skeletons in your closet.” With an embarrassed smile-- Sans’ grin was contagious-- you softly tapped your fingers against the air and said, “Ba-dum tsssss.”
Papyrus looked aghast, but Sans beamed and started to laugh.
“God, sweetheart, yer the only person at this party who’s any real fun.” He put his hand on your shoulder, though it was in a friendly manner. “Everybody else here has a stick up their ass!”
Papyrus didn’t even yell for him to shut up. It was too late, Sans’ voice had a way of reverberating throughout the room and everyone had heard. They were all staring at the three of you. Everything was quiet. You realized that even you were horrified; your hands were over your mouth. Or maybe it was secondhand embarrassment.
For some reason, Sans didn’t quit laughing, even when there was no way he couldn’t have noticed everyone else watching. In fact… Was he laughing harder now that people were staring? Papyrus looked like he wanted to murder his brother right there on the spot, but he did his best to save face.
“I… I APOLOGIZE FOR MY BROTHER’S BEHAVIOR, HE IS VERY, VERY DRUNK.”
Yeah, right. Sans wasn’t even wobbling on his feet, at most he was a bit tipsy.
Papyrus put his hand on your shoulder, the one Sans hadn’t touched. “I’M SORRY IF HE BOTHERED YOU AT ALL.”
Sans was horrible, and a complete moron, but… you liked him? For some reason. So you said, “Oh no, he didn’t. He was a gentleman.”
Papyrus obviously didn’t believe it, but he looked relieved that you had said so. “WELL, GOOD! AT LEAST HE WAS TREATING YOU WELL! HE IS ALWAYS… SO NICE TO LADIES.”
You bit your lip to keep from laughing at Papyrus’ exasperation.
You felt a hand on your arm-- a human one-- and your mother pulled you back away from the brothers.
“You’re sure he was nice to you?” she asked.
Well, you were already lying-- and it was kind of funny-- so you decided you may as well commit. “He was really nice to me. He told me I looked beautiful and he lent me his jacket so that I could keep warm.” You stopped yourself there, before you went too far and made him out to be Prince Charming himself. You glanced over and saw that Papyrus had a brow raised in confusion, while Sans had a brow raised in interest.
“I should hope he did.”
That was your father. Oh boy. Even Papyrus looked nervous. Sans seemed to recognize that you were saving his ass, because while you suspected he didn’t care, he looked like he did.
“You have a wonderful daughter, sir.” He beamed. “Smart ‘n funny.”
He was lucky he’d appealed to your father correctly. He always told you that you were smart, so anyone who said the same thing immediately gained at least some respect from him.
“Very,” was all your father said in response.
Papyrus stammered, “I… I SHOULD TAKE MY BROTHER HOME, BEFORE HIS VERY INEBRIATED STATE DOES ANYONE ANY MORE HARM.”
“Good idea,” said Sans. “After one last drink.”
“NO!”
Papyrus grabbed Sans by the back of his shirt, like a mother cat picking up its kitten, and started to drag him off. Sans gave you one last smile.
“Nice meetin’ ya, sweetheart. Hope I see ya again.”
You waved a little, trying to look as innocent as possible with your parents there. You bit the insides of your cheeks to keep from smiling too wide.
“His poor brother,” said your mother. Well, at least she didn’t hate both of them. “I can’t imagine having to take care of a grown man.” A smile. “Oh, wait. I already do that.”
Your father snorted. “Ha, ha.” He smiled at you. “Sorry about that, Princess. When we said we wanted you to meet men we did not mean him.”
A small pang of worry came over you. “You’re… not going to hurt him, right? He was nice to me.” You’d lied for a reason. Sans was an idiot, but he seemed like a pretty harmless idiot in the end. Or, harmless for a mobster, anyway.
Right?
“You mean it?” said your father.
“Yes, absolutely.” He hadn’t been mean. Just… very forward.
“Alright. I won’t hurt him, then.”
Your mother gestured further inside. “Come with us. We met a very nice young man who thought you sounded wonderful.”
Immediately, you felt your mood sour again. “Right.”
As they led you across the room, you found yourself already wishing that the brothers were still here.

Is your character considered strong in the fandom? YES / NO if we’re talking about the canon of ALTTP and OoX series rather than ssbu it’s a hard no, she has enough magic to be considered a sacrifice to break barriers and revive the dead but not enough to fend herself off from evil mages who want to talk over the world / IDK

I MEAN!!! SHE’S NOT AT ALL A DEPRESSED CALM ROMANTIC IN CANON LET’S PUT IT TO YOU THAT WAY SDBKASDJHBDASD.
SELL YOUR MUSE! AKA TRY TO LIST EVERYTHING, WHICH MAKES YOUR MUSE INTERESTING IN YOUR OPINION TO MAKE THEM SPICY FOR YOUR MUTUALS.   TAKES A DEEP BREATH
Tiny funky elf princess trying her best to rule elf kingdom. HJKA there’s more, I’m lazy but not that lazy. She’s the descendent of essentially a mortal god, more than likely acting as an avatar of sorts to the goddess Hylia, as such she’s gifted with fantastical abilities that’s been passed down her family for generations and she intends to use these powers to protect her kingdom that’s still on the road of recovery, as the sole survivor from Agahnim’s destruction upon Hyrule and thus sole scion she’s left picking up the small fragments from the tragedy that occurred ages ago where the Hero of Time had fallen. But here’s the downside to these powers: she was born with a very weak body and poor health as such she can’t utilize the abilities she has from her bloodline aside from a few powers without affecting her low stamina issues. Namely telepathy, clairvoyance, healing, sealing things away, creating barriers, and connection with the spirit realm. As such, she tends to rely on the wisdom given to her by her naturally bright mind and enhanced by the mythical object known as the Triforce of Wisdom. Surprisingly, she can be cunning despite her soft-hearted nature and is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her kingdom and people she loves, her silent determination more than makes up for the lack of powers she may have. That in mind, she’s often the target of more nefarious plans that means the downfall of her kingdom. She may not have the amazing light magic spells her ancestors did to prevent darkness from taking over but that doesn’t mean her magic isn’t any less potent, she just can’t tap into it. She’s an easy target for enemies that wish to use her sacred powers to revive the dead Ganon or break pass whatever powerful barrier or seal that’s in place.
Her future is pretty grim as well, considering she has a shorter life span. But it’s fine, things are fine she may have a gloomy outlook on certain things but that doesn’t stop her from living life!! Despite how sour this may all seem Zelda is still that encouraging young woman whose kindness defines her, she’s playfully innocent around friends and enjoys exploring old places of decay that’s rich with history! She tends to bottle up her more negative aspects to not worry others since she’s the pillar of an entire ass nation, she needs to maintain her placid demeanor as a means to calm and soothe others around her. Because the truth of the matter is that the events of ALTTP (before the game where harsh plagues among other things happened before Agahnim arrived to fix everything as well as after the events of the game) and OoX, instances where she’s witnessed death of loved ones, the downfall of her kingdom, and coming across death herself has affected her greatly. She suffers from grief and depression that needs to be addressed but... ;v;
NGL I’M ABOUT TO CRY
NOW THE OPPOSITE, LIST EVERYTHING WHY YOUR MUSE COULD NOT BE SO INTERESTING (EVEN IF YOU MAY NOT AGREE, WHAT DOES THE FANDOM PERHAPS THINK?).   HJKA TAKE OUT MY BULLSHIT TAKE ON HER AND YOU’RE LEFT WITH EXPOSITION AND DAMSEL IN DISTRESS!!! She’s not at all interesting if you don’t take into account her roles in the mangas which I somewhat base her personality and thoughts on... she’s just.... nice pretty princess that needs to be rescued. A tale as old as time....
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?   GOOD QUESTION!!! BECAUSE I STARTED OUT WITH HILDA BEFORE DECIDING TO GO WITH SKY ZELDA BECAUSE I WANTED TO DO A MORE OUTGOING MUSE and then I opened up a sideblog for this Zelda out of whim. There’s no reason why I choose the most obscure Zelda, I just did it because I thought it’d be fun. I did not expect this much characterization for someone like her ngl. I guess what keeps me going is the fact that she’s a fun character to write for!
WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING? HA!!! NOTHING!!! Mental illness is a bitch, I will have my down... weeks. Not days, literal weeks or months depending on how long my episodes last. It sucks, and I try to work around it but there’s not much I can do. That said, inspiration depends on motivation and want to write. As well as focus because god knows I have so little of that.
SOME MORE PERSONAL QUESTIONS FOR THE MUN.
give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO I TRY BUT UNDERSTAND THERE’S NOT MUCH TO WORK WITH IN CANON YOU EITHER LIKE HER OR DON’T
Do you frequently write headcanons? YES / NO
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO but I honestly should???
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day?  YES / NO
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES where’s the kinda opition, because I personally love her and think she’s interesting enough but I’m still working a lot on her NO
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / HA HARD NO
Are you a sensitive person?  YES fun part of having ADD is that you feel emotions more intenstly, I’m naturally a senstive person too so :’)))) / NO
DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?   YES OF COURSE!!!! As someone who wants to grow more in writing any sort of feedback is appreciated!
DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?   If you give me the chance to ramble about this stupid elf I will literally love you so much like I love all sorts of questions anyone may have about her!! Though I feel my rambles don’t really make much sense since I just type whatever pops in the mind and put it down as fast as I can without double-checking well enough.
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?   Sí! Again, I want to grow more as a writer and rper! So if someone were to come across a headcanon they don’t like I’d like to know why so that I can think more critically about it and fix it so that it better fits Zelda. If someone were to say “I don’t like this” without saying why it really won’t help much aside from letting me know that you don’t like the thing, which is fine and valid but pls let me know why!
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?   Eh, fine with it. I honestly don’t mind if someone doesn’t like my characters, any of my characters I play as! Sometimes, certain portrayals aren’t someone’s cup of tea and that’s perfectly fine. I won’t take offense to it, at the end of the day while I’m still working on Zelda I’m happy with how much she’s grown over the years I’ve played her as... which were just two but it feels longer dude!!!
IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?   Again, I wouldn’t care that much lol. It’s just rping, it’s really not that deep. It’s no different from someone not liking a book because they just don’t vibe with the writing style among other reasons. I may be sensitive but I don’t really take a lot of things personally.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?   Ye uvub! I’m a literal dumbass behind a keyboard, don’t be afraid to say “hey this wasn’t spelled right” or “hey this doesn’t make much sense mind checking it over really quick”.
DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?   I THINK?! I MEAN HONESTLY I’M SUPER ANXIOUS AND A WORRYWART I JUST DON’T SHOW IT MUCH AAAAAAAA I’d like to think of myself as chill ;v; I try to treat others how I want to be treated and just try to be nice. Idk if I come across as that or not, it’s hard to convey feelings through text sometimes to some.
